Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday dinner with a group of 8, we had a reservation for 9pm. They validate parking for 2 hours, which is nice given that it's $25 an hour. Because of this we were all conscious about time. We checked in around 8:50pm but were told that we had to wait for half our group to be present, this made sense. We had the full group by 9pm and were told that the table was being cleaned. It took a little over 20 minutes for our table to be ready. It was disappointing that it took so long for our table to be ready given that we had a reservation. We got to our table, which was all the way in the back, given we were a large group we didn't mind. However, we couldn't see the fireworks, which was a main reason to go there. No one came by to take our order for about 20 minutes. I was looking around for a server but since we were in the back nobody saw us. When I flagged someone down they said they would let our server know we were here, when she arrived she said she didn't see us. The food was good not great, some items were better than others. The poke nachos were the most popular, they were loaded with toppings and the flavor was good. Our friend ordered the wings and said that they tasted like frozen wings you buy at the store. We ordered a couple of pizzas but were thrown off because they had raisins on them, which wasn't specified on the menu. The saving grace of the night was the accommodation from management. We asked if we can get an extra hour of comped parking since we had to wait almost an hour to get our order taken, even though we had a reservation. Luckily they accommodated this request. All in all, I had higher expectations given the reviews and location, but the food and service were lackluster. If you're here casually, I think it'd be cool. However, if you're celebrating an event, I wouldn't consider hosting it here. read more

RISE is located on the rooftop of the Westin Anaheim, right across from Disneyland. They have live music Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, which makes the atmosphere even better. I forgot our bartender's name, but he was very attentive. I had a friend meet me, and as soon as she sat down, he already had a menu ready for her. I definitely appreciated that kind of service. Now let's talk happy hour--YES! The crispy fries were so good, the pizza was amazing, and the drinks were absolutely on point. They also offer valet parking. I believe the first hour is free, but it can get a little pricey if you stay for a couple of hours like we did. And one of the best little bonuses: if you're there at the right time, you can watch the Disneyland fireworks from the rooftop! Such a nice touch to an already great night. It's outdoors-only, so definitely bring a jacket along since the patio can get chilly once the sun goes down. Something always changes when we visit Rise, some good some not so good! This is our 4th year of hosting a Christmas get together for friends and family, so we usually reach out about 2 months ahead to make a reservation. This last time I didn't hear back from anyone for a couple of weeks, I emailed two more times, and finally got a response and secured our date/time. I did request a table near the DJ, and we did get a great location. BUT, now when they have a private party, they rope off the lounge area near the DJ. They didn't do this before, so in the past, we were allowed (and others) to dance near the DJ and get close to see fireworks. There weren't any fireworks the night we went, so nothing lost there! Parking is validated for only 2 hours. We had our same server from last year, she's so great!! Always checked on us, made sure we had drinks, food, etc. The hostess girls at the check-in were also great, very nice and talkative. They didn't let us sit until we had half of our party there. The food - always excellent. We usually get the pizzas, sushi, charcuterie board, sashimi, fries, etc. Drinks - strong and tasty but the cost did go up. Our bill was a couple hundred more than usual, even with 2 of our party not drinking that night. DJ music was so fun, played a mix of decades and different type of music. We were seated at a high top table, and so the heaters were too close to our faces, when we tried to light them it was so bright and so we just did without them. Came here to celebrate our friends' birthday. We brought a cake and asked if they could store it in the fridge and whether we could eat it there. The server told us we CANNOT cut our OWN cake and that there would be a $5 cutting fee. We were like, sure, since it's only a $5 "fee." But when the bill came out, it was a $5 fee PER SLICE, and we had 4 slices, so we had to pay $20. The server DID NOT EVER mention that it was PER SLICE. She just said there would be a fee, and she said it multiple times that there was a fee, not multiple fees. A normal person wouldn't think that it would be $5 per slice?? On top of that, we were trying to rush because of the two-hour time limit, and they took a good 20 minutes to cut our cake. OUR OWN CAKE that they didn't even have to make. While charging us $5 PER SLICE, they took like 5 minutes to cut each slice. So can we charge them a late fee or something? We were definitely gaslit into paying. She definitely knew what she was doing because when she left the bill on our table, she said again, "Here's your bill, and it includes a $5 fee." LIKE SHE SAID "A" $5 FEE. We also asked her at the end to confirm the fee, and she was like, "Yeah, this is normal for all restaurants to charge a fee per slice," and matter-of-factly said that this was cheaper than all the other restaurants. We would have been fine with this fee if we had known about it from the start, but this was just straight-up fraud. When our "lovely" server brought the cake over, she dipped her finger into one of the slices and almost dropped a slice on the floor. However, my brunch experience today was top tier. My server Jacky was so kind and had great recommendations. My friend was running a bit behind but Jacky understood the vibes and had the cocktails flowing while I waited. The raspberry spritz $18 was absolutely refreshing and so tasty. I also did the mimosa cart where you can order individual mimosas or a bottle. I did the bottle of JCB for $48. Ulysses was serving from the cart and made great conversation. Once my friend arrived we ordered food. I got grandmas bacon waffle $26 and my girlfriend got the smoked steelhead hash $26. I loved the bacon and the eggs on the waffle but there was a strong citrus taste on the waffle I wasn't crazy about. Otherwise delicious. My friend's dish was large and she enjoyed hers as well. Went here with my girlfriend and, once again, had another lovely experience! We came here for our anniversary, and both Rose and Mckenzie were amazing. They were super attentive, kind, and patient with us. They even offered to exchange our drinks if we didn't like them, which we really appreciated. The food was amazin the poke nachos were THE BOMB! The queso fundido was supposed to have chorizo, I think we got about two clumps of chorizo. The first mojito was all syrup. After two sips we sent it back. The second one came and it was better, but we still had to pay for the first one even though the waitress told us the bar tender was new. We were excited about the fireworks and had a great seat but when the show started people stood in front of our table. They should make people sit down. We had reservations because we knew it would be packed and they seated us right away. The live music was great. This is our second time trying Rise and the food both times was not good. Found this place by accident, it's a roof top open element bar. In the evening, there's a spectacular view almost 360. It can get cold but their heatimg lamps will keep you warm. Reservations are required but we manage to walk-in and got a nice table for 4. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. We had a 4-piece Tacos plate, Ahi Poke Nachos, chicken wings, Avocado and crab salad. A light dessert, Churros which was a perfect way to end the meal. I originally visited Rise because of their yearly New Year's Eve event, which I have been going to for the past three years. I made a reservation which I recommended because it was pretty busy for a Tuesday evening. We were greeted and sat on a great table with a view of Disney. It's located across the street from Disney's California Adventure at the Westin's rooftop. It's a beautiful lounge setup and a great spot for shareables and drinks. There are couches, tabletops, and bar seating. Our server Q was outstanding. He was very welcoming, patient and informative. I appreciated how he answered our menu questions and he had some great recommendations. I started with a Passion Fruit martini but I didn't expect it to be too sour/citrus for my liking. I then asked for the, New Age and I loved it. So smooth. Poke Nachos are a must. So fresh. I would not recommend the chicken wings. Tasted like boiled wings. Get the banana Foster Tres Leche Cake and Churros with ice cream. So good! A highlight was watching the fireworks from our seat. Most people got up to take photos and watch the show. Today's experience with rise rooftop was extremely disappointing. We made a reservation for 8 people and one of our staff decided to join us for drinks. We showed up early and the restaurant was pretty much empty. We made the reservation for 8 people and they only gave us a 6 people seating table. We asked if we can sit at the table that has 8 ppl seats. With the restaurant almost empty the servers are being extremely difficult and keep on saying they have to go to the back to ask. We have a reservation!! What is the point of making the reservation for 8 and you only give us seats for 6? But when we say if we can sit a person at the end of 8 ppl table they said no, but it's ok for us to sit 8 at 6 people table they gave us? What a double standard and horrible! While at the same time kept us waiting and standing there. This is a company event which we made it really clear during reservation. And we told them we can simply add a chair at the end of table and squeeze but the server kept saying no despite the fact the place was more than half empty and demanded that if we add that one person there is a minimum order of $70 per person!! Come on, one order of food per person is reasonable but $70 are you kidding? This is a rip off!! All my coworkers and staff were all standing while they kept on going back to talk to someone for an extremely long time. this is very unprofessional and unaccommodating to customers. There is no reason to being this difficult when the restaurant is not even half full and we have a reservation. read more

We have two places we consider our home away from home when we're in Anaheim visiting Disney and spending time with family in the area. When we're on a Disney vacation, we stay at the Grand Californian. For all our other visits, The Westin Anaheim Resort has become our Anaheim hub. We love that we can still enjoy Downtown Disney when we're not visiting the parks, easily Uber around the surrounding area to see family, and enjoy everything the Westin itself has to offer. The dining is always a highlight for us, from breakfast at the Tangerine Room to evenings at RISE Rooftop Lounge, especially on weekends with live entertainment and an amazing view of the Disneyland fireworks when you time your reservation just right. I especially wanted to recognize the team at RISE for what they did for us this past Friday, September 4. We originally had a reservation for five. That afternoon, some additional local family members decided they could join us, so I called from our room and the team graciously increased our reservation to seven without any issue. Then came another last-minute surprise: our guests brought two additional family members whom we originally thought wouldn't be available. Suddenly, our party of five had become a party of nine! With less than an hour before our reservation, I went upstairs to RISE and explained the situation to the hostess and apologized for the unexpected change. She could not have been more gracious. The team managed to accommodate all nine of us, seated us together in great seats, AND kept our original reservation time! They certainly didn't have to do that. Accommodating a party of nine at the last minute can be difficult, especially at a popular rooftop lounge, which made their effort mean that much more to us. We had an absolute blast, and it was our family's first time experiencing RISE while visiting us during one of our stays. Everyone had such a great time. These are the little things that make a lasting impression and keep us coming back. We sincerely appreciate the hospitality, flexibility, and kindness shown to our family that evening.
