Unique dining spot in Anaheim. My family and I enjoyed the food, decor and service. The server was very helpful. Everything we had from the pizza, salad, dip and more was enjoyable.

Surprisingly, I like this place. Food was great a drinks were amazing. our server was amazing also! She was very attentive and honestly considering it wasn't too busy, we had the best service. I would definitely recommend it's a small world aeperol and also the tacos! I actually was recommended here by someone else and it did not disappoint.

It's so easy to miss this place, next to the villains brewery, since it does not look like an actual restaurant and just looks like a random house. They share the same small parking lot, which was fine on a Sunday night but probably challenging on a Friday or Saturday. The decor inside is a bit confusing and seemed not really on point, seemed like someone just threw in a bunch of stuff together. The server was new and didn't know much about the place, but he was very friendly and attentive. The house is huge and not even half was filled so I hope people will find this place. I was really surprised that the food was actually good. The pizza slices are loaded and tall. I got the tacos and it looked not too appealing and kind of oily but honestly, it tasted so good and flavorful, it was delicious, I would go back for those tacos. Other friends also mentioned the food was really good.

Came in on two separate occasions to try this place out during end of August and again around mid October. I will say that the difference comes down to how busy they get. If you go in October, there is a wait to get your food and drinks. To me that was not a huge deal breaker as we went in a group and had a great time passing the time chatting away. Versus if you go a different month or when they open it's not as busy. Our server both times was Sierra (hopefully I spelled her name correctly) she is absolutely incredible. Despite being busy she checked in on us frequently and apologized for it being so busy. She's absolutely amazing and made our dining experience memorable. The drinks here are amazingly delicious and will certainly creep up on you. Highly recommend the it's a small world aperol drink, which is the drink with the cool designs. The appetizer are all amazing and you can't go wrong with any of the option. The buffalo chicken dip is spicy and savory. The artichoke spinach dip is creamy. But as a fellow Brie lover my favorite appetizer is hands down the crusted Brie and jam. Definitely worth it. As far as the food goes, my favorite is pepperoni pizza slice. It really hits the spot and is even shareable if you want it as a "appetizer" or just all to yourself. I also tried the smoked brisket grilled chimi-cheese and I will say it was very hearty and delicious. Paired with homemade chips definitely made this dish definitely worth trying. Overall, this place is amazing and definitely worth trying. I will note to avoid sitting under a vent as it can get very cold. Parking here can be hit or miss as it is limited. Other than that, definitely worth checking out. Especially for all the photo ops available throughout the restaurant. And of course for the awesome happy hour specials Monday through Friday from 2-6 p.m. and nightly from 9 p.m. to close!

This is an updated review since my last visit last year around this time. Parking was still bad. I checked the small parking lot next to Broken Spirits before proceeding down Water to find parking a few blocks from the restaurant. I see signs encouraging people to take the FRAN to get around, which I had to look up because I do not live in Anaheim and not familiar with it. Apparently it is a public micro-transit that provides people with free rides around the Anaheim Packing District areas. We ordered a slice of the pepperoni pizza, a spinach artichoke dip, a ghost host drink, a mai tai drink, a smoked bbq birria tacos plate, a baked potato, and an ube cheesecake. The spinach artichoke dip came with super chunky pieces of artichoke that I had to cut down a bit more and wasn't as hot (temperature-wise) as I'd like. But other than that, it was tasty.

We went to a special chef's 5 course tasting that was advertised on the Resy app for a kid-less date night. The outside is cute and is located right next to villains brewing. Parking is awful! So be prepared to street park or uber. We were offered welcome drinks upon check in and were showed our seats upstairs. The decorations for Halloween was a nice touch. The courses we had: aguachile scallops, stuffed squash blossom, butternut squash ravioli, lamb lollipop, tri tip w/ baked potato, and bread pudding. I wish we sat next to other people who also did the tasting menu to make it more intimate, but we were sat next to regular dinners. The pacing in between meals was a little slow but our server was great. I also wish the chef came out to go through the menu since it's a chefs tasting.

Happy hour is so clutch here! Hubby wanted to grab dinner on a Saturday night so we made reservations. We were pleasantly surprised they had happy hour starting at 9pm. Drinks are buy one get one free on wines and specialty cocktails but must be the same drink. That was totally okay with us! Otherwise they also have happy hour 2-6pm and 9pm to close every day. We started with the tragic kingdom which was delicious, loved the rum and the banana liqueur. As an appetizer we had the spinach artichoke dip. It was delicious but would have preferred chips instead of baked crostini's. My hubby loved the brisket tacos. I just ordered a side of Mac n cheese which was solid enough. Overall, service was on point and kind. Food was pretty good too. I would definitely come back again. The aesthetic of the restaurant is cute too as it is in an old town home in downtown Anaheim with a spooky decor inside.

This place has a fun, dark Disney vibe that's perfect for spooky season. The staff is very welcoming and we were seated right away. We started out with drinks. They have a variety of themed cocktails so expect some difficult choices. We got the It's A Small World and Ghost Host. For food, we got pepperoni and mushroom pizza and baked brie and jam It's A Small World- I gotta say, they are generous with alcohol. This drink has an aperol base with strawberry and lime flavors. Strong and refreshing! Love the artwork on it as well. Ghost Host- This drink comes with a tarot card so enjoy your reading! The main flavors are hibiscus and lime. It has a smoky finish that complements the strength of the cocktail. Pepperoni Pizza- This is sicilian style pizza so it comes in a thick, square cut. It has a cheesy base with a generous amount of meat. Mushroom Pizza- Base crust is crispy with a good amount of gooey cheese and earthy mushrooms. The flavor is enhanced with greens. Topped with creamy burrata and finished with fried onions. Baked Brie and Jam- Brie is served warm and gooey. The flavor is indulgent and buttery. The jam adds a contrast of sweetness. Served on crunchy crostini. Great experience overall!

When we ordered, we were told they were out of steak, corn, mussels, and Brie and jam. This was just a Tuesday. What gives? Server was very accommodating and tried his best. I was in a party of 4 and 2 people ordered 3 slices of pizza (brisket, 2 mushrooms), a salad, and the other ordered sides of Mac n cheese and baked potato, and an artichoke dip. All this was given to the table first and then my 3 birria tacos and broccolini came 15 min plus after the rest of my party ate and were half way into their meals. Drinks were great but the food delays bummed us out on even staying. Not sure if I'll be back.

The waitress we had was very accommodating. That says a lot. We got our seats quick. Unfortunately we got there right after the kitchen closed, but the waitress was willing to get us food from the brewery next door. Nachos were good My churro old fashioned was so damn tasty. Such a cute homely spooky house. Definitely would come back again

Happy hour is not 2-6pm m-f

On a Tuesday night my husband and I stumbled upon Broken Spirits Distillery after dining at Villains Brewing and each had a cocktail during their "9-Close" Happy Hour. We had a great experience, the bar tender was friendly, the drinks were yummy, and we walked around to explore all the Halloween decor they were starting to put up since we had the place to ourselves. On their drink menu, it says "Happy Hour 2-6pm Monday - Friday." (See picture attached) So, we decided to come again 2 days later on Thursday to enjoy their earlier happy hour times. When we arrived on Thursday, the place was empty and after about 2 minutes were greeted by a staff member who told us Broken Spirits doesn't open until 5pm and the 2-6pm m-f happy hour is at Villains Brewing. We mentioned that the menu here, at Broken Spirits, says happy hour from 2-6pm m-f, but he was dismissive and didn't acknowledge the discrepancy. Rather rude service I think, and it left bad vibes with us after a great first experience just a couple days prior, so we just left and don't plan to go back.

This place is definitely understaffed! Came here with my fiancé for dinner because I've heard such great things and it looked super fun. Wanted to see the Haunted Mansion vibe in person. I had high hopes having seen reviews and visited their website (which only shows the food menu for the Long Beach location btw). First off the parking is HORRIBLE. We drove through their much-too-small lot twice without a single open spot before driving across the street into the neighborhood to park about 1/4 mile away. So be aware of that. Anyway when we first stepped in we were right in the middle of the main dining room. The hostess asked if we had reservations, I said yes and gave her the name, then she said something and walked away. We waited there awkwardly in front of the entrance and next to people eating for the next 5 minutes wondering if we were supposed to follow or stay put. She finally came back and told us to follow her. We were seated outside on the back patio. Cool area right between the historic house and the main distillery warehouse. We could hear the music from the big outdoor area but it wasn't too loud, added a nice 90's hits vibe to our dinner. We ordered drinks and started with some apps...or so we thought. I ordered the mussels which come with pork belly and sounded so good! The server said they were out of them, but had all the other apps. We asked if we could swap out the crostinis for veggies for the dips and were told they only have roasted veggies no raw, so no apps for us. We both decided to get the filet mignon. I chose broccolini and carrots for my sides, she chose brussels sprouts and corn on the cob for hers. All good! Then the server came back, no corn on the cob :/ Needless to say we were a bit annoyed by this point at not being able to order what we actually wanted. The steaks came out cooked very good with a chimichurri sauce on top that actually had a great kick to it. The veggies were cooked very well and tasted great, but all of them had the same topping of shaved parmesan and a drizzle of balsamic sauce. Still tasty regardless. By the end of our meal it started getting a bit more crowded with people coming out the door right by our table. Before we knew it there were people standing all around us talking, putting their drinks next to us, and generally getting in the way of us enjoying a nice dinner. Once we finished eating we sat around for about 20 minutes, our server never came by again. We didn't get a chance to order more drinks, dessert, or even get a refill on our water. I finally got up and had to hop the railing to go back inside due to being blocked in by random people standing around in order to go inside to find the server and ask for the check. I paid and we left immediately. They need to hire more people and maybe train the staff a bit better. I would also suggest some sort of separation between the main "restaurant" (the old house) and the big open distillery/bar area. The parking situation also needs to be addressed.

I had a great time during a post-work happy hour at Broken Spirits. We were especially excited about their happy hour menu because drinks are buy one, get one free. They have to be the same drink, but if you're going with a group of friends, buddy up and take advantage of this deal. Our group ordered a mix of items, including, the warm Brie and jam, Mac and cheese, and Brussels sprouts. I ordered the buffalo chicken pizza because they ran out of pepperoni, but this was also a solid choice. While it's only one slice, it is a big and thick slice. It is also served with a side of potato chip fries. All the food was good and the drinks had a kick to it! I don't recall the name of one of my cocktails but the other one I had was the Ghost Host, which has a mezcal base. It's really good if you enjoy the smokiness of the mezcal. We showed up without a reservation with a party of 8 and we were seated right away. I think we got lucky with our timing though. I had a great time at an affordable price, so you can't beat that!

The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!

We arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening and we were bummed that it was packed full inside. We decided to go have a drink upstairs, and then come back down later to see if it was any less busy. There must have been one big group who left because 30 minutes later, it was completely empty inside. There are a few wood tables outside of the entrance and several two seat tables along the outside of the side of the train, but for a first visit we definitely wanted to be inside. When you come inside at BXCR, there are two long green couches along each side that wrap around to the entrance to maximize available space. There are two steamer trunks on each side that serve as tables. We were surprised that all of the tables had a Yahtzee game on them, and we had a blast playing that while we enjoyed our drinks. If you happen to roll a Yahtzee, they give you a candle as a prize. There is good background music playing that fits the environment. There is some good décor with overhead baggage racks and international clocks on one wall, and gauges on the wall next to the bar. There are some small rectangular windows along the top of both sides, and some curtained windows on the right side which do let a little light in. When the main entrance door is opened before its dark outside, it does let quite a bit of light in and kills the ambience temporarily. I would recommend coming closer to or after sunset to not let any outside sunlight interfere with your experience. The drinks are made at the bar in the rear where there are several seats and a little standing room. It wasn't on the current menu, but I saw on a previous menu they had an Amaretto Sour so I started with that, and it did not disappoint. It was nice and frothy from an egg white and had Angostura bitters on top. My girlfriend started with the Calm Cruise which was great. It's basically a Pina Colada, but with an additional honeydew flavor in the background. For number two, I tried the C-League cocktail. The smokiness of Mezcal has grown on me lately if it is not the primary flavor, and in this drink it is at a nice level somewhere in the middle. The cucumber and cilantro are definitely present, along with a little heat from the ancho verde and a little sweetness from the Luxardo maraschino. This is a excellent easy-drinking tequila cocktail. Her number two was the Aviation which she enjoyed. Vince was our main bartender along with Sarah. They were very friendly and fun to chit-chat with while they were mixing up our drinks. This is definitely a cool place to check out, and we will definitely return.

This is a lovely Sleeping Beauty forrested theme lounge, and while it is small, we had no issue in waiting for a table both times we visited this Lounge. We went to the Broken Spell on our day of arrival, and David was an excellent server! I already knew I was going to order the charcuterie pizza, and asked David for a recommendation on cocktails. David recommended the Raven's Wing, and the presentation and smokey flavor did NOT disappoint. The charcuterie pizza was delicious and large enough to satisfy the appetite of two people with leftovers. I also tried the Benevolent Fairy drink which comes in three seperate potion glasses and was so much fun. While it was a great drink, I preferred the Raven's Wing! Server David was very kind and very attentive, checking on us regularly to ensure a great experience. On our last day, we stopped in on our way to the airport so we had our luggage. We were immediately seated, and greeted by a server named Gloria. When she saw our bags, she thought we were just arriving, and gave a very detailed rundown of the cocktails and food. We were only there for one last round of the Raven's Wing cocktail, and were promptly served given our time constraints. I look forward to returning to The Broken Spell Lounge!

I had to take half to go. One son liked his fish 'n chips. The other super picky kid liked his chicken sandwich. The ambiance is nice. Cozy velour couches in pretty jewel tones and low lighting. I do wish they had some higher tables available for diners, but that's quibbling. It should be way more busy than it is. Good food that veers from the usual amusement park offerings is harder to find in the California parks than the Florida parks.

It was 5 o'clock somewhere lol…read more This bar has prime real estate inside the great, Anaheim packing district. (The Anaheim packing district has private parking and it's easy to find a spot during the week. On the weekend, it's another story) You basically run right into the hammer bar when you enter from the main entrance. It's nothing fancy, gives off hipster vibes and is cool without trying to be cool. The two bartenders Josh and Xavier were amazing I came here around prime lunch time. I went and asked one of the bartenders, since they do not serve food if it was ok to bring some pastries inside and eat them with my drink. (There's a pastry place right next to the hammer bar) They said since it was a weekday and not busy I could bring something in. So I went and grabbed some food and sat there while drinking my drinks. They have bar seating and then they have hightop tables as well I asked them for some recommendations. Josh and Xavier both recommended The zombie (kept warning me that it was extremely strong. So I stayed away from that. Even though I'm confident I could handle it) The banana clip The pool noodle (I told them I needed it to be pretty / cool looking too, lol) I went with the pool noodle -Plantaray Pineapple Rum, Rhum J.M. Agricole, guava, apricot, lime and cava. AND, let me tell you, this was delicious AND looked amazing 10/10 Then I went with the banana clip- Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon, banana, mandarine, cinnamon, pineapple and lemon. 10/10, I loved it To be honest all the drinks sounded great. If I wasn't planning on going to other places and walking around the packing district, I would have just stayed at this bar and had a few more lol. Prices were extremely reasonable as well The service that Josh and Xavier provided was phenomenal 10/10. They were friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all the questions I had They also have mocktails, beer and wine. I highly recommend coming here for a drink if you are coming to the Anaheim Packing district. Or stay here for a while. I could have definitely stayed longer and tried more. I'll definitely be back next time I am in the area (On the menu it says they offer gift cards. So it would be perfect for any friends that live by this place and appreciate a cool bar)

Unfortunately, the inside of the Tiki Bar was closed for repairs/upgrades, but we ate on their very pleasant outdoor patio, and luckily, the weather was lovely. I'm not that into Hawaiian type food, no offense to Hawaiians whatsoever, so I found the menu to be a bit limiting. Since I just had a poke bowl the prior night, I didn't want another, even though it was probably what I would've ordered. Most other dishes were with pork, which I don't eat. Instead, I ordered chicken tenders, which is so NOT what I would EVER order, but I did on this day. The chicken was not overly greasy, and it had good flavor. The fries were even better. The poke bowl looked gorgeous, and the 3 others who got that said it was delicious, although not nearly as much salmon as they were hoping for... and it had way too much rice. (Those of us who had poke bowls from the previous night had loads of ahi tuna and the perfect amount of rice.) My husband enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger, something I'd never get. Not a fan of bacon AT ALL. My grandchildren got the chicken tenders like their grandma. :-) We ate our food to being serenaded with live music on the patio. Nice touch. I think most people come here to drink cocktails, although we didn't since we were about to make a long trek home up the I-5. I probably won't eat here again when/if we stay at this hotel, but it served its purpose when we needed it.
