Came here for my friend's baby shower and it was a perfect spot for both dining and hosting events. We had a private setup on the front patio with unlimited buffet-style food and drinks, and the service was excellent. The staff stayed on top of everything, keeping the food replenished and making sure we were good on drinks. Everything was fresh and served hot, and the cocktails on the menu were all delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy, the sliders were flavorful, the salad was refreshing, and the chilaquiles surprisingly stayed crispy and full of flavor and shredded meat. It's located in downtown Orange and luckily we found street metered parking right in front. Will come here again to dine!

I had finished my last chemo at UCI and wanted to meet up with family that had driven and flown for dinner. Loved the restaurant location and the open atmosphere. Menu was a little limited, but I was very very pleased with the tenderness of my short ribs. So delicious everyone was pretty happy with their meal choices. In addition to the pictures. There was a chicken salad, a burger...but everyone also agreed that the short ribs were the best. We also ordered I forgot what it was called, but it was a purple cheesecake ($17) to go. It was pretty good too, although I think too expensive.

GOLD MEDAL CHICKEN SANDWICH with salad

First time here and was a solid choice. They seem to specialize in burgers..but I got the gold medal chicken sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich was a tad salty so I removed some of the bacon. All the ingredients were fresh. Service was good. Dining area is big and open with high ceilings. Has a gastropub vibe... Parking was easy peasy. Plenty of parking in the free public lot about 2 blocks away. Also street parking if you are lucky.

I've walked by this restaurant numerous times when in Old Town Orange, but since it was a little later than usual, I thought I'd catch brunch this morning. They offer both indoor and covered, somewhat outdoor seating. There are tables and cushioned bench seating, but it's a little crowded. They have great booth seating on the right hand side, but that's set aside for parties of six. I didn't even ask. The atmosphere is casual. The menu is divided into food on one side and drinks on the other. There were couples and groups, including children, enjoying Sunday brunch. I could hear Sabrina Carpenter and Smash Mouth playing on the overhead speakers. I ordered a mimosa from the classic $5 cocktail menu. It was good and strong. For my main meal, I ordered the short rib chilaquiles, which comes with a side of sour cream. I added an egg for $1.99. It was delicious. The meat was shredded and mixed in with the tortilla chips. My egg was over medium as requested. I finished the entire thing. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Parking: Free, street parking.

Maple Butter Brussel Sprouts and Chicken + Cheese Dip

Had a great first visit to Bosscat Kitchen and Libations. Came on a Thursday night around 8 p.m. and my friend and I were seated almost immediately, which was a perfect start. The ambiance was perfect with low lighting, a great crowd, and an overall pleasant vibe. Our server was very sweet and helpful. When she learned it was our first time, she shared some favorites across entrees and shareables. Everything sounded so good that we decided to go with a few shareables instead. The spicy chicken and cheese dip was salty, rich and flavorful. The pig candy was one of my favorites, and the maple butter Brussels sprouts were incredible and perfectly sweet. We paired everything with white wine and had an excellent experience from start to finish. Looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu!

Steak and eggs plate

Came here for brunch twice recently and they have changed their brunch menu from before. For one the options to select from seem smaller than before. Bummed they took away the fruity pebble French toast and the steak sandwich off the brunch menu. First time we went since the change I got the steak and eggs plate (which was really good) bc it was either that or the basic breakfast plate since nothing else really called to me. My partner got the breakfast sandwich which he said was okay. Second time we went since the change I again got the delicious steak plate and my partner got the breakfast burrito which he did not care for and stated there was more egg than anything else in there. We will say that the cinnamon roll that's croissant based was ridiculously good and probably our favorite dish we've had recently.

Ahi lettuce wraps. Doesn't look like much, but oh my yum!

My. Goodness. I am going to be dreaming of the ahi lettuce wraps for the foreseeable future. The mezcal was good, the food was good, the service was amazing. The music is loud, but not unbearable. Definitely recommend this establishment for anyone in Orange.

Once again Bosscat did it again! I came to Bosscat again after the amazing food and experience I had last time. Let's start with the service. We had an amazing server, I couldn't remember her name, but she was super sweet, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations on menu items including appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Let's move onto the drink. Our server recommended the pineapple sage elixir described as espolón blanco tequila, pineapple, sage, citrus. She shared that this drink tasted like a dole whip. When it came out, it was the perfect balance of bold, sweet, but flavorful. This drink was on the sweeter side, but you could also taste the tequila. And onto food! For an appetizer we ordered the male butter Brussels which were roasted brussel sprouts, crisped, tossed with a maple sauce, candied pecans and blue cheese. And all I have to say is WOW. The flavors in this dish were remarkable. For our entree we went with the same as last time, the short ribs as they did not disappoint. The short ribs once again were tender enough to cut with a fork. The sauce in top was a peppercorn sauce which was a nice addition of flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were also amazing! Finally, the environment. This time was different as we brought a dog. The perk of Bosscat kitchen and libations is that they are pet friendly on the patio. The patio wasn't crowded and we were far enough away from other tables so we didn't feel crowded. I can't wait to come back for another great experience! I will add, since we came closer to the holidays the restaurant wasn't as busy and had plenty of parking on a weeknight.

The distractions not writing, are both of them!

Great time at Bosscat, MicoGozilla came by to perfect the cheese topping on the Ham-Azing croissant. The atmosphere was great, our server Michelle informed us about good options of the brunch menu And the gas pumps were dancing to the music which wasn't too loud. The Tator tots were protesting but that's happening where ever you go.

Gaby N.

We came in as a group of nine and had already started ordering drinks when one of the staff members addressed my brother in a really rude way. Instead of just letting him know politely that he was being loud, she spoke to him in a way that felt unnecessary and disrespectful. Honestly, it made the whole group feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I get that it can get busy, but when you work in a place like this, there's an expectation to handle situations with a little more patience and professionalism especially with a large group of customers. The interaction just wasn't handled well at all and it definitely impacted our experience.

If you get a chance to come here for brunch, you will not be disappointed! We ordered the "Ham-azing" and the "Gravy Train," and wow -- both were incredible. The croissant was so flavorful and perfectly flaky. The ham was delicious and not fatty at all, which I really appreciated, and the cheese was a mild white cheddar blend with parmesan that tied everything together perfectly. The Gravy Train was just as good -- two biscuits topped with boneless fried chicken and smothered in gravy. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely hit the spot. The portions were generous, so definitely bring your appetite! Between the food, the vibe, and the friendly staff, this place is a must. We'll definitely be back!

A cocktail served in a coupe glass with a dried orange slice on top is positioned on a white napkin on a wooden table. In the background, there is a second drink with a straw, mint leaves, and a slice of orange, along with a glass of water and a blurred restaurant interior.
Maritza S.

FYI they close between lunch and dinner from 2:30pm until 3pm. After 3pm that you can order happy hour and the full menu. The service is always great, and the drinks and food are consistent. The maple Brussel sprouts with blue cheese were scrumptious.

A photograph shows a plate with a stuffed chicken breast topped with a dark sauce and a side of potato chips. The dish is served on a dark plate, and the setting appears to be a restaurant environment, likely Bosscat Kitchen & Libations in Orange, California.
Hieu H.

Although they had recently changed the menu, majority of the food was really good. I wished that they made the starters bigger since we wanted more. The wings and the tostadas that they recommended us, I wanted more! The original sandwich that I got though, was salty but was able to switch it out for about burger and was able to redeem itself. Big shout out to Hayley for having a positive attitude when I gave my thoughts about the sandwich. She was very attentive and gave me great recommendations since it was my first time. Appreciate that they were and to offer us a military discount as well.

Burger smashies - Three mini burgers with sesame seed buns, beef patties, and lettuce are arranged on a white rectangular plate. The plate also contains a few slices of pickles. The background shows a restaurant environment with glasses, water bottles, and people seated at a table, with natural light illuminating the scene.

They take delicious grilled proteins and chef them up into really interesting entrees. Several dishes take BBQ and they add influence from Filipino and Californian flavors. Started off with blue corn sourdough that was baked next door at 6100 Bread and served with tallow and lemon butter. It was chewy, creamy, with hits of lemon. We then had a grilled mushroom arroz caldo, which is a Filipino-style rice porridge that gets tons of flavor from garlic and fried shallots. What takes it to another level is that they have perfectly charcoal grilled maitake mushrooms that gives a smokiness to the porridge that's amazing. As you eat, you get pops of acidity from pickled fresno chiles and the grilled mushrooms are brushed with an addictive ancho glaze. This is an amazing, balanced dish. Our main course was a Kurobata pork belly chop that was pan roasted and grilled over charcoal and topped with a subtle strawberry-guajillo BBQ sauce and a refreshing coleslaw with a dressing that reminded me of sweet vinegar with chili that's often served with rich, fatty Filipino pork dishes. I'll definitely come back for brunch and dinner. Fusion restaurants are often gimmicky, but Le Hut Dinette skillfully balanced flavors without cutting corners. You could taste delicious sauces, perfectly grilled meats, and brightness and acidity to round things out. Some of the dishes represent Filipino flavors and these were very well thought out. Their mushroom arroz caldo, for example, was probably the best lugaw (Filipino term for rice porridge) that I've ever had. I look forward to coming back soon!

They run a breakfast menu for the morning, and have both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was friendly and fast when I was there, but according to the server it does seem like they also get their usual rushes and normally recommend reservations. I went with the brisket breakfast burrito. It's substantially filling even without a side. That said, it leans a one-note texture. The spicy element comes more from chili oil than actual heat, so it doesn't bring much kick, and without it the burrito could use more contrast. Something like a brighter salsa or added crunch would balance it out better. The fried potatoes inside come as whole baby potatoes, and they're cooked properly. No complaints there, but doesn't help with giving a different texture. Seeing what people at other tables were ordering around me, I may come back and try other items on the menu. Everything looked like mountains of food.

You can tell they've been around for a long time in the best way. It has that classic deli feel with a mix of diner, café, and old school market vibes. Service was friendly and helpful, even during the lunch rush. We went around 1 PM on a Thursday, so it was definitely busy, but the wait felt expected and worth it. Portion wise, they do not hold back. You really get a bang for your buck here. The smoked fish platter was the highlight for me. I genuinely loved everything on it. It's perfect for sharing (or for leftovers ). It almost feels like a DIY bagel experience you get to mix and match different toppings and flavors, which I'm obsessed with. Also... I tried an egg bagel for the first time and it lowkey changed my life. They make their bagels in house and sell them by the half dozen but they do sell out. By the time we finished eating, they were already out, so if you want some to take home, grab them as soon as you walk in. The Benjie Special was solid super flavorful and packed with a generous amount of pastrami. It did lean a bit greasy for our taste, but that really just comes down to personal preference. They also offer a variety of cold deli items by the pound, which adds to that classic New York-style deli experience. Overall: A cozy, old school deli with generous portions, quality food, and that nostalgic mom and pop charm. Definitely a spot we'd come back to.

I wanted to share some comprehensive feedback regarding a recent experience, aiming to highlight both your successes and areas where further refinement could elevate the customer journey even further. First and foremost, I must commend your team for their exceptional warmth and hospitality. From my initial phone call to the moment I picked up my order, I felt genuinely welcomed and valued. This level of customer service, which often feels lacking in many establishments today, truly sets American Grub apart. It creates a welcoming atmosphere that significantly enhances the overall experience, and I sincerely hope this commitment to friendliness remains a cornerstone of your operation. However, I encountered a couple of points that, in my personal opinion, warrant consideration for improvement. Regarding the payment process, I felt a degree of apprehension about providing my credit card details over the phone. While I understand the operational need to secure orders and prevent potential losses, particularly for larger transactions, for a single item like my bacon cheeseburger, priced at $17.24 including tax, this practice felt somewhat disproportionate. I also noted the 99-cent fee for online payments, which, while minor, might deter some customers who are seeking convenience without additional charges. Perhaps exploring alternative secure payment links for phone orders or adjusting the fee structure for smaller transactions could enhance customer comfort and streamline the process. My primary concern, however, arose upon returning home. Despite ordering a bacon cheeseburger, I discovered the burger completely lacked bacon, as well as any form of sauce or mayonnaise. This oversight had a significant impact on the meal; the absence of these core components rendered the burger quite bland and far from the experience I had anticipated. When ordering a single item, the expectation for meticulous attention to detail is particularly high, as there are fewer variables. Consequently, the overall value of the meal, given the missing ingredients, was not quite met on this occasion. I did reach out to the owner privately via email to discuss these points, and I appreciate their responsiveness and transparency in addressing my feedback, particularly concerning the rationale behind the phone payment policy. It is reassuring to know that your business is open to customer input. My hope is that these observations can serve as constructive input, allowing American Grub to continue refining its excellent service and product quality. I remain a supporter of your local endeavor and look forward to seeing these aspects addressed. Thank you for reaching out. Every word and insight you read is authentically mine, driven by my commitment to provide honest feedback. I also noticed other customers going up for refills, but that was never mentioned to me, so I didn't even realize it was an option. Parking: I had no problem finding parking spot as the lot is huge and shared with many other businesses. Interior: We were seated right away without any wait time as we arrived when they just opened. We were seated in a dark area of the restaurant (think bar vibe) so I was a little not sure at first. Most brunch places I went to were always filled with sunlight and bright colorful interiors. This place embraced a classic, quiet feel, something like a Steak House would have. Service: Our server's name was Susan I believe, who was nice and attentive through the whole meal, despite the crowd slowly built up and filled the restaurant. She never failed to check back on us, not just once but twice and refilled our water. She probably isn't as familiar with the brunch menu favorites but seem to know more about the Main menu. The General Manager came out and greeted us because most of their customers are regulars and it's uncommon to have first timers like us visiting. This nice hospitality made us feel very warmly welcomed and impressed. Food: I couldn't decide whether to go with the Slow braised beef on the brunch menu (braised beef benedict) or the main menu but ended up going with the Main menu to get a good portion size. It was a perfect choice because the beef is just amazing. It was cooked to a soft perfection, well seasoned, the roasted vegetable was also cooked just right and not super raw/ crunchy like other places. Then the star of the show arrived - the butter cake. As Susan suggested, this is their most popular dessert and I can see why. The butter cake comes piping hot with the ice cream on top. There's a nice sugar crunchy feel near the bottom of the cake. It's so delicious that I want to come back just to eat this cake. We had a great time overall and would love to come back.
