*FOR WORLD CUP FINAL GAME DAY* I had made a reservation about a week in advance of the World Cup game, specifically indicating in my reservation notes that we would like a table with a good view of the television. OpenTable states that tables outside are first come first serve, and that they cannot promise requests (we didn't want to sit outside anyway, so that worked well for us). Upon arriving, the hostess shared that not only did they have us sitting outside, but she also said "we saw your note and it didn't say anything about sitting outside, and it just said to have a good view of the tv." And then she said "your table also might not have a very good view of the tv." We agreed to look at the table, and sure enough we could barely even see the tv. There were at least 3 available tables inside that were also reserved and they would only allow us to sit outside. We left and will not return. read more

Stopped by yesterday to watch the World Cup games and had an awesome time! 1886 is located in Old Town Orange off Glassell; there's plenty of street parking around (but I would recommend taking a ride share if you're local and coming during rush hours to avoid traffic). They offer reservations online so definitely take advantage of that when you can, and offer plenty of indoor and outdoor patio seating. It's definitely more of a restaurant vibe with a brewery on site, but the vibes are great regardless. Staff is all super friendly, and are quick to serve (even during busy days like yesterday). They make a killer Bloody Mary, and offer flights of their beers as well. I also tried their nachos and those were great as well. Overall, this is a great spot to hang with friends and watch a game or two, and I definitely plan to stop by again soon. read more

Fantastic Brewery in Old Town Orange with fantastic service. Our bartender was friendly and gave great recommendations. I was able to get a red ale which I feel like is hard to find these days and my friend got a pilsner she loved. We split chicken wings and sliders and crispy brussel sprouts during happy hour and it was all very reasonable. Not sure it's cause I haven't had a burger in a while or it's really that good! We got some appetizers to share Wings- I didn't realized how smothered their wings would be in buffalo sauce but it's their 1886 wing sauce. We went as soon as they opened and had the best seat in the house.. big round table right in the middle of the restaurant with every tv in view. Our server Jillian was awesome and kind as she delivered our tasty drinks, appetizers, and meals. We shared the crispy bacon Brussels sprouts while waiting for our plates and enjoyed FIFA on every tv. My Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was very good and had an amazing spicy rub on it that I can't quite figure out. Three of us ordered the Fish & Chips and said they were excellent. Had brunch here on a Sunday. Got there at about 11:40 and there were ample tables available, yay for no wait! It looks nice in here, there are lots of TVs and they had every imaginable sports game on when we were there. The chairs were so comfy! I was very pleased with the seating. Our waitress was really nice, but she was swamped with some very needy tables, so I think she did her best with us. He had one of their light beers and said it was ok. I had the Yuzu Lychee hard seltzer, wasn't a fan. It tasted more like apple juice to me, I didn't finish it. I had the Bodega Sando that has scrambled eggs, a hash brown patty, bacon, "spicy" sauce, and is served with house potatoes. I really liked my sandwich and the potatoes! I didn't find the spicy sauce to have a hint of heat though, I was fine with it. He had the Turkey ABC sandwich with bacon, lettuce, avocado, and pepper jack cheese, served with chips. I liked my meal better, but he enjoyed it. We do want to come back, he wants to try their burgers, I want to try the Brunchcuterie board which sounds really unique and tasty. We'd snacked earlier so we weren't too hungry, and shared a couple plates. We went with the guac with chips and chicharrones, and the gabagool burrata flatbread (delicious). We had a great family dinner at 1886 Brewing Co. in Downtown Orange! The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, with plenty of TVs throughout the restaurant, making it a great place to watch sports while enjoying a meal. Even though it's known for its beer, the food was surprisingly delicious. Our favorites were the Signature Ceviche, Chicken Pesto Flatbread, Baja Fish Tacos, Lulu Greek Salad, and Jambalaya. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. We also enjoyed the Mike Tai cocktail and the Hazy Love Hazy Beer. The service was friendly, and the restaurant was very family-friendly. Our kids enjoyed the food, and we appreciated being able to relax and enjoy our meal together. There is street parking available around the Orange Circle, and we were able to find a spot without much trouble. Free parking after 6pm. I used to have an issue because the old brewer refused to make or even serve hazy's. I drink other beers, but I do prefer hazy's. Every time I visit here, I am always impressed by all their plates. I came here with the hubbie yesterday for some drinks and early dinner. My hubbie's meatloaf was the best meatloaf I've ever tasted. Savory and hearty, with a bit of crisp on the edges. Served alongside with perfectly cooked Brussel sprouts. Even my chicken Cobb salad was delicious. They (of course) have a variety of beers, wines and cocktails. Vibes are chill at 1886. While having lunch at Provisions across the street, I noticed 1886 Brewing and told my dad, hey, want to check this brewery out and see what they have? And he said, sure. This must be a new brewery in town because we've never heard of them until then! We walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar, where it shares a space with several beer tanks. Since we just had lunch, we only had their beer. I had a sampler of their Live Stream Cream Ale and my dad had a sampler of their Red (Taylor's...I mean Sean's Version) beer. Cream ales are one of my favorite beers out there, but initially my first choice was the Margaritaville (?) beer, which unfortunately was sold out. Good thing I had a beer plan B here lol. The cream ale and the red beer were our second beers of the day. I was close not to finishing mine, but I did as soon as it was time for us to leave. Next time I come back, I definitely want to try their Margaritaville beer, as margaritas are another one of my favorite alcoholic drinks. They have a Happy Hour, which runs from Monday-Friday from 2:00pm-5:00pm, and they have Taco Tuesday specials every Tuesday, where all their tacos are only $3. Came here for a late night dinner. The place was busy but the staff was very efficient with getting things rolling. Our server was friendly and attentive. We started off with the signature ceviche as our appetizer. For mains we picked the Club 86 Wrap, The Italian, and 'Loated' Shepherd's Pie. Club 86 Wrap- The wrap was tender. It was loaded with chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and cheese which is a pretty hearty combination! The side of fries was cooked to perfection with a glorious crisp. The Italian- This was served with a cheese- crusted bread that had a lovely crisp outside and a soft and fluffy interior. We got a garlic upgrade on our side of fries and it was so worth it! This has got to be the most well-seasoned, garlicky fries I've ever had. A real winner!
