Have been here twice with this time. The steak was so savory and tender. Cooked to perfection. The cinnamon French toast was insanely delicious! Our server was great and very attentive. Definitely coming again when I'm by the area!

Stopped in here for some brekky. It is surprisingly roomy inside and it looks like they've made the most out of the space. The food itself is decent, nothing out of this world, but my eggs Benedict were ok, and I liked the freshly squeezed OJ. The service however was not great. We arrived and were seated right away, our food came out at a good time, but we were left at the table unattended after we were clearly finished for 25 minutes. We could see our server walking around, attending other tables, but completely ignoring us. Not sure what happened or what was going on, but I was very ready to go when a completely different server came over and finally brought us the bill. Don't think I'd be back here anytime soon, wasted almost 30 minutes waiting to pay for our food so we could leave.

Really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant! Service is super friendly and attentive, there's lots of tables and parking, and the menu is huge (breakfast, brunch, pasta, pizza, sandwiches, salads, calzones, hamburgers, and more). Serving sizes and prices are decent as well. Got the chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns, and English muffin. Everything tasted good and I loved how crispy the hashbrowns were. We also got a side of fries and they were well seasoned.

Still remember the days I first arrived in the States--what impressed me most were classic restaurants, friendly service, and generous portions. Friends Café instantly brought me back with its old-school vibes and thoughtful murals. Super family-friendly, with coloring activities, a kids' menu, fresh orange juice, unlimited coffee, and all-day breakfast classics done right. My favorite is the steak & eggs--an 8 oz steak with toast, fresh fruit, and eggs, all for under $20. They say you eat memories, and classics are classic for a reason. IG: socalhkfoodies

Had an amazing dinner at Friend's Cafe! The food was delicious, and they have an incredible pizza deal: a large pizza, 10 wings, and a 2-liter soda for just $25.99--perfect if you're hanging out with a group. We went with the pasta and quesadillas this time, and both were hits. Great ambiance, affordable prices, and a solid evening all around!

Chilaquiles, Mexicali Scramble, Bloody Mary, and Salsa. The waitress, Maria, was distracted, likely overwhelmed.

Cooked any way yCooked any way you like them with homemade hash browns, quinoa or fresh fruit and toast or English muffin with homemade preserves. Two XL AA eggs, I asked a substitute and instead one pancake, which they did.

A nice local independent diner with a big menu. Breakfast served all day! We came at breakfast time and had breakfast. There are lots of choices from sweet to savory. Good solid food but not inspired. Hey, what do you want from a cafe? The service is a little slow but it's made up for by how nice the staff is. With places like this how can Denny's etal still be in business? Support your local independent businesses.

Omelet with delightful hash browns, perfectly crisp.

Everything, everything is great. Attentive, kind service and pleasant food. They seem especially keen on the older crowd. We had a huge omelet and liked the hash browns.

My husband and I consider ourselves sandwich connoisseurs, and we honestly can't believe we don't come here more often. I usually order a simple turkey and cheese, but this time I went with the Super Bird (plus onions) and was in absolute heaven. My husband ordered the Fuggedaboutit, and we were both blown away. The owners were working that Saturday, and we learned they have been in business for 11 years. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Shaken Garlic Steak, and my wife had the Banh Mi. The bread was flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. The meat in both sandwiches was tender, and all of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I also enjoyed the homemade macaroni salad, and the oatmeal cookie--made without raisins--was a light and tasty treat that completed a delicious lunch. We only wish we had discovered this place sooner. It will definitely become a regular stop for us whenever we travel to the Los Angeles area.

We tried the pork belly and the cubano sandwiches. They were excellent in every way. The cubano was true to spec. Tender ham, mustard pickles on a beautiful roll. Simply delicious. The Pork Belly was spectacular. The pork was tender and flavorful and the cucumbers, cilantro, onions and jalapeños made it a flavor delight. All on a delicious roll. Just writing this makes me want another one! However, there's one thing you do not want to miss. Their newest addition is Salt Bread. These are sold 4 to a package and and are like the yummiest croissant you've ever tasted. I was sitting waiting for my order to be completed when the owner cam out with a bit of one on a fork. I was hooked. They're already baked, but the instructions are to put them in an air fryer (we used a small convection toaster oven) for 2-4 minutes at 350. I also like them split and toasted. They're fantastic! You'll want to put The Sandwich Society on your restaurant list! (And you'll want Salt Bread in your pantry too!).

We got two hook and ladder subs, which is Firehouses' classic go-to sandwich: Turkey, honey ham, and Monterey Jack cheese melted with the basics: lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and deli mustard with a pickle spear on the side. While I was grateful that the store was able to substitute my ham for double turkey, I was actually upset, but I was unable to add any of the other add-ons to the sub (they said this wasn't allowed). We got our subs, I could not believe that I just paid almost $15 for what look like two kids size subs with barely anything in them. And that is what the coupon, mind you. Normally this would've costed almost $30 and then today's world, that's just insane . Service is good, it was a bit quiet there, clean restaurant. However, overall, I think firehouse needs to work on their price modelling because there's no way I'm coming back even with the Bogo offer.

Told us everything is made in-house, even the sauces! That's really good to know and makes me feel better about the food. She even gave me a free delicious cookie for being a first timer! And she comes around from time to time to check on us to make sure we're enjoying our food. Really nice to receive this kind of attention from a fast-casual restaurant. The Santa Maria BBQ Salad looked good but I asked her if they could substitute the chicken with the Chimichurri steak and she said "sure!" And surprisingly they did not charge extra! I love restaurants that are flexible like this. My salad bowl was SO good and filling. Lots of good stuff in it: chopped salad mix, coleslaw mix, Applewood-smoked bacon, crumbled goat cheese, corn & black bean salsa, grape tomatoes. Served with chipotle ranch dressing and blackberry BBQ sauce on the side, and a fresh baked focaccia bread. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the cold meat. I was under the impression that the meat was going to be hot. My BF got the Southwestern Sandwich. It was delicious. All the Southwestern flavors were there but not overwhelming. The sandwich was hot and juicy. For a restaurant that makes everything from scratch, their prices are very affordable. Both our meals were only $27 total.
