Thick sliced beef on a roll that was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The dip was a richly favored beef broth, generously provided...I should have asked for a soup spoon! Oscar's Deli provides fresh and high quality food in a simple setting. Like many I have driven by for years and did not go in. But after I did I've become a regular for lunch. My favorite is the chicken salad sandwich on squaw. Sandwiches are generously portioned and include a side. Service is so fast and friendly. Went here on a Monday morning instead of sleeping in. There was plenty of shared parking in a plaza with other restaurants and businesses. When we arrived, we were welcomed with large handwritten menus above the register and a man warmly greeting us. Tables were empty, but it was about 8 in the morning so that made sense. The only sounds you can hear were what was sizzling on the grill, which also smelled amazing. I ordered the Sausage breakfast burrito with everything (includes bell peppers, potatoes, cheese, eggs). Everything was seasoned well, though the salsa that came with wasn't my favorite complement for the burrito. I'd definitely come back! Although I've been by many times this time I stopped in to get lunch. What a great find- I was immediately greeted by a warm and friendly person who was ready to take my order! Their menu is extensive with hot or cold sandos, which come with a side of your choice and they also have salads. Cold beverages in a refrigerator and it looks like they serve breakfast items too. I ordered the chicken salad on sourdough with a side of potato salad and a veggie sandwich on wheat with macaroni salad. The side servings are large and the sandwiches were ready in a snap. I took my order to go but they do have indoor dining and the dining room looked inviting and clean. I was very impressed and will be back- noting they close at 2:30. Oscar's is yet another Tustin Gem I managed to overlook. Its great, and I would give it more stars if I could. Oscar's menu is extensive. It includes cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, entree salads, burgers, breakfast items, soups, and great side salads. Everything is made in house using quality, fresh ingredients. Meats and cheeses are sliced fresh. The portions are generous, so much so I typically can finish just one half the sandwich. This is fine. I can share the other half or save it for the next day. So far, my favorite sandwiches are the Roast Beef, the Triple, the Tuna Salad, and the Philly Chicken Cheese, but every sandwich I've tried was very good. So far, my favorite included side salads are the mac salad, the garden salad, and the summer salad. I've never had better mac salad. The place is not huge, but there is plenty of seating. I've never had a problem finding a place to sit when I chose "for here" versus take out. The prices are insanely reasonable. For instance, for $9.99, you get your choice of cold sandwiches coupled with your choice of a generously portioned side salad or one of the soups of the day If you order one of the specials of the day, you get a self-serve fountain drink too for the same money. The service is great. It is always friendly and prompt. In my opinion, Oscar's trumps every other sandwich place in town by a country mile despite there being a number of worthy competitors. read more

My wife and I came here since I'm a big sandwich guy and she works close by. Ordered the chicken salad sandwich and the French dip, both with a side of chicken noodle soup. Sandwiches were great, liked the chicken salad serving size and loved the au jus for the French dip. Chicken noodle soup was excellent and tasted homemade with lots of flavor. Would like to try the pasta salad and potato salad next time. Loved the shop's design style like the movie posters and musician photos. Staff were all friendly and attentive, and could tell had long-standing relationships with other customers there. This is a very nice "Cafe" style restaurant that has a satisfying menu that will fit everyone's taste. My Team Members and I have been trying to work through the menu item by item to find our personal favorites. So far no one in the office has been disappointed!
