5th Ave Bagelry is one of those businesses that you really consider gate keeping. I have been here twice and know I'll most likely become a semi-regular due to the proximity to my job and my positive experiences so far. The employees have been very friendly and helpful/knowledgeable of the menu. I have tried the veggie bagel, and the egg and cheese. I've also tried the golden juice & green juice as well as the regular coffee. Veggie Bagel (on everything bagel) - 10/10 so good, the veggies are fresh and taste is amazing. Egg & Cheese (on egg bagel) - 8/10 good but tastes a bit bland compared to the flavors you get with the veggie bagel. Golden Juice - 10/10 Green Juice - 10/10 They make the juice in front of you, you watch them take all the fruits/veggies out and juice them. They taste great, and reasonably priced. Regular Coffee (vanilla nut)- 10/10 I've been trying to get back to drinking coffee black and this coffee is really good just by itself, it's hot and you pour it yourself, they have a few different choices including decaf. All in all I think this has become my new favorite place for bagels, I only wish it was in a better location since this plaza can get super busy especially during the weekends and finding parking can sometimes be hard. Make sure you give yourself enough time to account for those factors if you're stopping by in your way to work. read more

New family run bagel spot that opened in the area. I saw an ad and came in to claim a free bagel with cream cheese. I also purchased a hazelnut iced coffee to start my day. It is located in the busy dollar tree and home goods plaza. The workers were nice and quick. The inside feels like a bagel/donut/coffee shop. As for the bagel, the free one can have either plain or chive cream cheese. So I had to try the chives. The bagel tastes fresh and homemade. It was perfectly toasted with crispy exterior and a chewy center. The cream cheese was refreshing with each bite. I liked how there were fresh chunks of chives in there! My only thing was half of my bagel was bare. Most of the everything toppings have fallen off. But for the bites with all the toppings attached, it was flavorful! I can really taste the garlic bits (if you are into that sort of thing). As for the coffee, the sweetener reminds me of a milk tea. Even the packaging. Part of me feels like it's missing some boba in there. It wasn't what I expected but not bad either. They also offer a large variety of juices. Greeted from the moment I entered and taken care of promptly. Which is ideal in the morning on the way to work. My only delay was trying to decide what bagels I wanted. First time back since the grand opening, and this place is popping! Very busy Saturday morning when we came by, which is great. Service was excellent and they seemed to have gotten everything up and running smoothly. We got our orders after about 10 minutes. Fast service, very busy. Ordered a sausage egg and cheese ($7.49), Vietnamese coffee ($6) and 2 bagels ($1.99 each). Spinach Parmesan cheese didn't taste like anything, cinnamon raisin was a bit better, sausage egg and cheese was decent but nothing special. Vietnamese coffee had lots of caffeine but not that flavorful, more like watered down Vietnamese iced coffee to fit a 16 Oz (ratios were kind of off). I'm a bit of a bagel snob coming from the east coast. 5th Ave is better than the store bought bagels but nothing I'd write home about. Proof bagel from orange farmers market / stonegate farmers market is still 10x better, fluffier and true kettle boiled bagels packed with special flavors but a good deli to grab a quick breakfast. Staff was friendly, definitely still ironing out some things, but it was their first week open. Plenty of seating inside and space to stand and wait for your order. Stopped in for the free bagel with cream cheese & small coffee offer. Delicious coffee (I like it black, no extras, but they have flavors as well). And the bagels are DELICIOUS. Excited about this place opening so close to home! All of the employees there were so friendly and helpful. You can tell they're getting into the groove of things with this soft opening before their grand opening next weekend. All items we ordered were solid, and the three kiddos in our party also gave their stamps of approval. Our orders: Fifth Ave Bagelry sandwich(#1) on a garlic bagel- this was open faced and at first I was surprised that they draped the lox on top of all the other toppings. In the end I realized I actually like how it kept everything embedded in the cream cheese instead of sliding/rolling away (capers/onions/tomatoes can get unruly lol) Heavenly Veggie sandwich(#2) on a jalapeño cheese bagel- loved that they include sprouts! The bagel had a nice bouncy texture but was easy to bite into. I have high spice tolerance, so I thought this had very low spice level (some might like that fact). Went in today, not a single person in there. Ordered a whole wheat with cream cheese, sausage, egg and cheese and a jalapeño cheese bagel with jalapeño cream cheese bacon, egg and cheese. The girl making the bagels made BOTH wrong. I didn't notice the jalapeño one until we made it home, she put plain cream cheese instead of jalapeño cream cheese. The other bagel I caught in store she put it on a works bagels instead of a whole wheat, I told her that we didn't order a works we ordered a whole wheat she said "you could've told me that instead of waiting until I was done" I responded saying how am I supposed to know if you're making MY order when you guys just finished making 2+ before these for an online order. She stayed quiet then another lady comes out of the restroom and tells the girl making my order that I'm correct it should be on a wheat bagel so she starts re-making it, in between of her finishing the incorrect bagel she touched aluminum foil, stickers they add on the aluminum foil so it doesn't open, a knife to cut and a sharpie to write on AND with those same contaminated gloves she also scooped all the crumbs on the little table and into the trash. I asked if she was going to remake my bagel to change her gloves she automatically got a attitude walked away drank her water and the older lady that had came out of the restroom put gloves and finished the order. I'm not the type to stay quiet I will say something as every paying customer should. That little brat has to go. Also, upon checking my receipt they charged me an even $20 which isn't correct on their menu it says a bagel how we ordered should be 7.50 each that's $15 for 2 with tax definitely shouldn't run up to $20 even. It's my second visit here, and the experience hasn't improved. **Lox and Bagel**: The bagel was undercooked and of poor quality. The everything bagel was overloaded with seeds, which made it unappetizing. The capers were at the bottom, diminishing the flavor, and there was an excessive amount of onions. It also wasn't toasted enough. **Plain Bagel with Cream Cheese and Jam**: Again, the bagel was undercooked and lacked flavor, leading to a stomachache. There was far too much cream cheese and jam, overwhelming any potential taste. The orange juice was decent, but it felt out of place in a New York setting, served like a Boba drink. On a recent morning visit I had the Breakfast Bagel with bacon (on a jalapeño bagel) and an iced coffee. They serve flavored ice coffee and it was great. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good. Plenty of bacon, which was chopped small and piled on the egg. I didn't really love the jalapeño bagel, so next time I would just order an everything bagel or something more classic. Overall it's a good breakfast sandwich though. They have a fairly large breakfast menu with multiple options (sandwiches juices smoothies and more). In terms of savory breakfast choices they have more variety than most other coffeeshop/ order-at-the-counter places I've been too in Orange County (which seem to mostly just offer sweets). Another nice thing about going here for breakfast is that there seems to be plenty of seating. Even though it was very busy, it seemed like most people were taking food to go. I had my choice of a table inside or one on the patio. The biggest downside is that they are not very fast, especially when it gets busy. There was a pretty long wait because they're so popular, both before and after ordering. Overall this shop is a solid place to get a breakfast sandwich and a coffee, so long as you're not in a hurry. On other occasions I have just stopped in to pick up some bagels and cream cheese to go, and that tends to be faster (and their classic bagel flavors are solid).
