I'm so glad I had the chance to check them out right before they went on summer vacation, as it really was well worth it. I'm always looking for the best breakfast burrito around, and I'd contend that Orange County as a whole has one of the strongest scenes anywhere for it, with different places offering different things. Donut Hub makes a mean breakfast burrito themselves, with a variety of meat toppings, and even The Works which I'll have to inquire exactly what goes into it. I went with a classic favorite with the pastrami burrito, something I'll always choose when it's an option, and it was absolutely delicious. The burritos were a solid size and filling for the price, with the highlight being their fluffy eggs and just great ratio of ingredients. They provided ample amounts of salsa to wet your burrito as well. I also had their donuts, just because I had to as their namesake, and they stand among the best mom and pop donut shops in an incredibly competitive area, where you really taste all the flavor, and I'm already awaiting their return, but I'm sure they deserve the rest. There's also just a level of service that comes with family run businesses that you really feel, and this one has it in spades. It's not in my area, but it's enough in my usual stomping grounds that I'm sure to make a stop whenever I can. TIP: Breakfast burritos and donuts are both incredibly solid. read more

**June 2024: Sunday Morning Visit** I've had my fair share of donuts and let me tell you the donuts at The Donut Hub have some of my favorites! They have more of a malasada taste to it, so it's more light and fluffy than a traditional one. I also really like the citrus treats as they add a nice tartness to the bite and balance out the sweetness of the frosting. The Lemon Blueberry is the most popular here, but I really enjoyed the candied orange on the Orange Circle Signature. The shop is simple and clean, and the owners are very positive and friendly. Donut hub is close by my work, and I've been meaning to visit the shop. I finally was able to visit the shop on an early Friday morning at 6:30 am. I needed a pick me up, for a work meeting. The donut shop is located on the corner, in a plaza with ample parking. The store is very cozy and spacious. I was the only customer at the shop, and the owner greeted me warmly. I wanted to try their special donuts. Unfortunately, the owner informed me that he only had the lemon blueberry and hibiscus donuts. He had to wait for his wife to come in. Aww bummer, I'll arrive a bit later next time. I ordered a sausage breakfast sandwich on a bagel, and a lemon blueberry donut. He asked me if I wanted the hibiscus donut, but I told him I wasn't a fan of hibiscus. While he was in the back, I sat on one of the chairs. It didn't take long for the food to come out. We had a little chat, since I thought he was Vietnamese. He was telling me a bit about his family background, which was nice to learn. Also, he threw in the hibiscus donut and donut holes in for free. I didn't expect that, but it was greatly appreciated! I enjoyed the flavorful taste of the sausage breakfast sandwich. Also, I liked that the bagels were thick. I only tried the lemon blueberry donut, and I'm in love. The donut was so light and airy, with the right amount of tartness from the lemon. I just can't say enough great things about this donut shop!! Their donuts are ALWAYS fresh, and they also offer breakfast burritos, which are really good, and breakfast sandwiches which are my favorite - and for just a little extra you can get your sandwich on a croissant - YUM! (*Just a note: they put Mayo in their breakfast sandwiches, which I really like - but some might not. So if you're not a mayo person, be sure to ask them to leave it off) They also have smoothies - which I haven't tried yet. Now that it's been warming up, I'll have to give it a try. I've had Donut Hub bookmarked for a while now because of the high reviews and the delicious looking speciality donuts, so I was excited to finally be able to try it. Unfortunately, when I went, they completely ran out of speciality donuts already which was a bummer and surprising because it was only noon. I guess this place is just really popular and you have to come early to get what you want. I still ended up ordering the lemon filled donut and I really liked that! Even though it's more of a traditional donut, they do it really well here because the actual texture of the dough somehow tasted better than your average traditional donut. Alongside this, the jelly had more of a natural citrus taste to it instead of an artificial one. This makes me want to try the speciality donuts even more but with that being said, if they're out of those when you go, I still recommend picking up a traditional donut because you won't regret it. The store overall is the size of your average donut shop and is clean and brightly lit with a few seats if you choose to eat there. There were two ladies working there when I went and they were both so kind and sweet. The store is located in a small plaza and finding parking was not a problem. read more

Although not as exotic as Sidecar, this place offers unique flavors at better price, and also carries less expensive traditional donuts. I got Lemon Blueberry, Nutella Bliss, Tiramisu, and Orange Circle. First three were equally good, although I would give slight advantage to Tiramisu for layers of flavor. Orange Circle was my least favorite, even though it's the signature flavor here. However, this is mostly due to me not liking orange flavor desserts in general. I just cannot believe how charming, hospitable, and delicious this shop is. The donuts are PHENOMENAL. Their custom joints are works of art. My mouth was beaming with joy after every bite. I tried Donut Hub this past week after seeing it on the "Top Places to eat in OC" yelp list and thought the place was solid overall, but probably not worth the top 10 spot. One positive about the place was how nice the worker there was, taking the time to explain all the different flavors and letting us know that their most popular flavors are the lemon blueberry and the maple bacon. We ended up ordering the white chocolate pistachio, tiramisu, berry cheesecake, lemon blueberry, peanut butter lover and white chocolate oreo, all of which were $3 each. They had already run out of some of the flavors, but made them fresh for us, which took about 10 min. The favorite donut among our family overall was the white chocolate oreo, although the white chocolate pistachio and lemon blueberry were also very well liked. Unanimously the least favorite was the berry cheesecake, which was unfortunate because it sounds amazing. I'd been meaning to try this donut spot for a while. I took my daughter this morning and we got some donuts, a breakfast sandwich, iced mint coffee and a banana smoothie. Everything was delicious, especially the donuts. They had a good selection of your traditional donut flavors and fun unique ones. They use real fruit in their smoothies and have non dairy milk options. The owners (I think) were so incredibly nice and threw in some free donut holes that were so good - light, soft and sweet. I've only been here a handful of times but they're always nice and friendly. The donuts are good, and the specialty donuts look nice and taste delicious, especially the lemon blueberry. The croissant sandwiches aren't made with typical croissants, but they are very buttery and filling. The only complaint I might have is that the specialty donuts run out quickly, but all you need to do is ask and they're happy to make it for you when possible. I placed an order in advance for a dozen donuts for my office. And let me tell you, Donut Hub is a true gem donut shop in Orange County. There's a reason their ratings and reviews have consistently been 5 Stars. The customer service was seriously top-notch - some of the best service I have ever received. The owners were incredibly friendly and took the time to answer all my questions on each flavor I was curious about. They offered suggestions, and when I finally made my pick, they made the donuts on the spot. I mentioned that this was my first time here, and they threw in a chocolate sprinkles cake donut on the house. They also offered me a stamp card and told me about the option to custom order. Prices were really affordable too, especially considering I had selected all specialty gourmet donuts. I ordered their signature specialty donuts- the Hibiscus, Lemon blueberry, and White chocolate pistachio. The glaze on the Hibiscus and Lemon blueberry donuts were both sweet and tangy, and so incredibly unique. I have never tried such unique flavored donuts like these before and I loved them both. The white chocolate pistachio was filled with fresh creme, which was good alongside the white chocolate glaze; however the actual taste of pistachio was pretty faint- still a good donut overall though. All three donuts were soft and fluffy in texture, and tasted fresh - definitely quality donuts. Chocolate Glazed Donut: $1 - I was expecting this to be a run of the mill chocolate glazed donut, but the owner let me know that he double chocolate glazes his donuts which really made the taste stand out. Plus the donut was super fresh and for the price was a great deal! White Chocolate Pistachio $3 - I love pistachio so I had to try this! The owner even filled the donut with fresh crème, which tasted good but unfortunately didn't have as strong a pistachio flavor as I was hoping for. Billionair $2.75 - This donut had a lot going on with it which included salted caramel, potato chips, nuts, and chocolate. I enjoyed every bite of this donut! The only negative thing I have to say is that the chips weren't as crispy as I was hoping for them to be. But still this was such a great concept for a donut. Tiramisu $3 - Tiramisu as a donut? YES PLEASE! All that mascapone cheese filling had me drooling! Overall I really liked the donuts here, especially the pricing on the regular type of donuts.
