One of the closest donut shops to me, and I hardly come here, probably because they close at 1 pm and I'm so not a morning person. Heck, I'm barely an early afternoon person. Anyway... I was driving by, and they were still open, so I went in. I wanted something a little more than a donut, so I ordered a ham and cheese bagel along with my favorite, a maple bar. Now the place is called "Jumbo Donuts", and I will admit, the donuts here are bigger than your average Dunkin'. I even measured the maple bar just for fun. Now the cake donuts, donut holes, and some others were maybe a little bigger than other places, but not by much. Now to the food. The hand and cheese bagel was a perfect late breakfast/early lunch. No complaints. Considering it was your average restaurant pop-up toaster; it was toasted just right. The maple bar, my test item for every donut shop, was pretty good. I prefer a creamier maple rather than the thin layer that flakes off, but the maple flavor was there. The main bar was soft on the inside but a little tough on the outside. It might have been because it's been sitting there for a while, but I would order it again. I did have to cut it in half and eat the other half later because it was just a little too much to eat all at once. Not usually a donut person, but sometimes I crave a good Apple Fritter. And for what it's worth I think it's hard to make a bad apple fritter. I walked in and grabbed a small milk to add to my coffee and cut down the sweetness of the Fritter. Headed over to the donut counter and looked it over. The apple fritters where looking ok, one smaller one in the back looked overcooked and it looked like they had put it to the side. Asked for an apple fritter and the guy went to grab one of the good looking ones, I then walked to the counter to get ready to pay, He dropped it and picked up the ugly one! It was a bit burned and had a bit of bitterness to it. I made it a point to discard the edges and eat the center part. The Fritter and the 6 oz milk came out to $5.50. This place is a hard pass, didn't like the donut swap, A $1 donut from 7-evelen would have been more enjoyable. read more

Jumbo? Not too sure about that, as donuts usually don't last long enough to be compared to other donut'ers (?) bakeries (?) But they are a friendly local small business making tasty donuts. They also have bagels and croissants, as well as other sweet bread treats (not to be confused with "sweetbreads") The only bad thing is that they close at 1PM, but then again they are probably up at 2am to start baking! read more

My 2 year old son an I enjoy walking over to sit down and eat a donut here on a Saturday morning .. every time we stop by the owners are sooooo welcoming and they always make my son feel extra special by giving him an extra donut or coming up to us and greeting him with a friendly high-five ! I really like that about this place and my son has became so comfortable with this place that he asks me to come here. The donuts are delicious I really enjoy the ham and cheese croissants! I've been here a handful of times but being pregnant. I was craving a quick donut stop. I ended up getting the cinnamon roll and the young lady charged me $3/donut. The pricing is a little excessive as it's just slightly larger than the regular donuts that go for $1.50. So, my wife comes home from the store this morning with donuts. "From where?" I ask. "From Jumbo Donuts," she says. "You know, the place next to the sandwich place we used to love but we never went there because we'd end up at the sandwich place? Well, I went there." She presents me with a lemon filled donut the size of a small volleyball. I kid you not, there was a small ocean of lemon filling... so good! And, though I'd give five stars for that lemon filled, that for which I would give 10 stars, 15 stars, 2500 stars... too much? That for which I would also give five stars if not significantly more was the second donut my wife picked up. The lemon filled had been enough for that morning and we left what was supposed to be our 2nd choices in a bag in the kitchen. And we didn't retrieve that bag from the counter until this evening. I dish up for my wife a chocolate old-fashioned as big as my head and, left in the bag for me to marvel at, I see a donut so epic its like is rarely spoken of for to speak such a thing would be to doom us all to greasy donuts. And there's nothing greasier than a day old apple fritter. Just sitting in the bag getting all icky. Ewwww... But this apple fritter, even after a day in the bag... it wasn't greasy. It wasn't slippery. And when I held its gentle flesh and peeled back the wrapping on the gift of its baked perfection, I was met with the most delicate crunch. Best donuts. My favorite is the rainbow sprinkle with vanilla icing cake donut. Next is the glazed twist donut. I recently tried the ham n cheese n jalapeño croissant--so amazing. The croissant was huge with plenty of flaky croissant bites. The cheese was a great mild white cheddar (possibly mozzarella). The jalapeños were perfectly distributed across the jumbo croissant embedded in cheese. This is the best donut shop in our area. We go here every Saturday. They know us and are so friendly. My husband always gets a breakfast sandwich, it's huge and delicious. Every donut I've tried is delicious and tastes fresh. My favorite by far is the chocolate cake donut. They don't do the trendy, decorated, overpriced donuts but they consistently make big, delicious, classic donuts. They also have decaf which I really appreciate! :) read more

The donuts are better then most places we go. They are open till 2pm and ( close earlier sometimes ) like the other day I went and it wasn't 2 yet. The old man and lady let the kids or grand kids take over, they are really nice but I miss the older couple. No the donuts are not huge or jumbo but they are ok. Jumbo Donuts, indeed. Size does Matter: They weren't kidding. These donuts are decently priced, just as anywhere that you would buy donuts, but they really do give you BANG for your buck. Taste? Can a donut every really taste bad? Other options would be muffins, croissant breakfast sandwiches or donut holes. Their specialty really is Coffee and Donuts. Staff: I come here a lot and it always seems to be an elderly Asian man and woman holding down the fort. I think they're married.. irrelevant, I know, but I still think its cute if they are. I love Jumbo Donuts! No, they aren't any bigger than you'd get elsewhere, but oh man are they good donuts! I think they kind of taste like Krispy Kreme donuts, when they cool down (because hot Krispy Kremes are the best!) But anyway, aside from donuts, they sell croissants, fritters, cinnamon roll things, danishes, and they have different drinks like bottled water, Snapple, soda, and chocolate milk. For breakfast today, I had the croissant with ham, egg, bacon, and cheese. It was sooo good! They give you an option to have it heated up...do it!! The egg is "fried", enough that the yolk isn't really too runny, but it's not solid all the way through. Kind of like the egg in Carl's Jr's breakfast burger. The croissant sandwich is only about $2.35, so it's relatively cheap and a pretty decent size! I totally recommend it! The staff is friendly and helpful, but today the man was a bit slow to count out the change after I had paid. Stopped by recently and i admit was turned off by the price. JD was 1 to 2 $ (for a dozen)more then the neighboring donuts shops. Owner was very nice and honest that her prices were a little higher then the comps nearby. Her reason was donuts were made fresh and the taste speaks for itself. Tried the nearby comps and quality and tastes were nothing to brag about. To satisfy my curiosity I returned a week later and tried JD and was convinced their quality and taste does exceed the nearby comps.
