This may be my new fav sub sandwich spot! Really cute and clean store, designed like a true firehouse with boots and gear hanging on the wall. The service is welcoming and helpful' and the food seems to be made to order with very fresh ingredients! Had the firehouse hero and fries combo. First of all, the fries are INCREDIBLE! Id venture to to say they are some of the best I've ever had! Fries are long crinkle cut, crispy on the outside, soft inside. Served fresh and hot. Oh so PERFECT! The sandwich is tasty, and stuffed with meats and the sauce is really good without being overpowering. Veggies are fresh as well. Don't normally do 'fast food' but this was awesome! I used to like this place but it has gone downhill. Take your money elsewhere! Services sucks and food quality is down! They're don't care about customer orders. It's met with attitude and animosity when you ask when this isn't what I ordered. I said no onions and they still added it. Their response with an eye roll, "Next time, you need to say no caramelized onion, I'll give it to you this time". I was shocked with the attitude, I literally said no onions! Their response, "you need to be clearer and say no to both onions" I don't know what's clearer than saying no onions. They ended up making my food several times wrong. I was so upset they weren't listening to what I ordered, I asked for a refund. They went to go back to ask the manager and handed me my sandwich. Ordered the engineer, lady taking my order was very friendly and asked all the right questions and offered me everything. Let's just say she was well trained and seemed to enjoy her job! So I was in the mood for a steak and cheese sub so I decided to go to Firehouse Subs in Tustin, I order a large Steak and Cheese with everything on it, I made sure when ordering the sub I asked the cashier to make sure to add unions and bell peppers, mustard and meyo, ordered to go, When I got home the sub looked different the steak looked almost light grey like not fully cooked, they put very little unions but no bell peppers what a disappointment, i took a bite and quickly spit it out, this Sub was terrible plus it was cold so they deserve 1 star. Stopped by for a quick bite 45 minutes prior to them closing. Most places they will rush your order because they want to get home or just want to close. Our waiter was great and even gave us his favorites even though it wasn't our first visit. He even took his time making our sandwiches but it was still within a decent time. I ended up ordering a Medium BBQ Brisket with Cheddar sandwich and it was delicious. I enjoyed it so much. I am a fan of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce so that was an added benefit. This is the only location in the area, so I really have no other experience with other locations. We stopped in Sunday 04/14/24 about 6:30. A few of the tables were occupied, and 2 people were in front of us to place an order. We waited a few minutes while we were deciding what to order. While standing in line, 1 of the 2 employees says to the 2 customers ahead of us, they are not taking any more orders for a little while. He would not say how long, but he'd let us know. We decided that this kind of service was unacceptable. So we turned around and left. This was probably the smart thing to do. Like I said, I have been here before. My friend's sandwich did not have a pickle, not sure how they decide with ones get a pickle. Maybe not with hers since she ordered a small sandwich. The cashier asked what size drinks we wanted. Not sure if everyone gets a choice of cup size, or if she wasn't sure what size to give us. We said the small was fine, thinking we would get a refill for our way home. The fountain drink was available when we first got a drink. But when we went to get a refill, nothing happened. We sat at the inside counter, by the door. Next time, thinking we would sit outside. Customer service was good but I was very confused because the moment I sat down to wait for my meal I realized a lot of people had numbers sitting on their tables.
