Back again! Brought some friends this time. My husband and I rave about this spot. It's a hidden gem. After telling some of my friends about the massive burritos, they wanted to give it a try. I planned a hangout for the friend group. My friends LOVED Cali Tacos! They could believe the value of the giant burritos! Most of my friends didn't finish it in one setting. Service was good. Our group had to wait for the burritos to be made. About 15 minutes for each person. Food was fresh and so delicious. Love the burritos at Cali Tacos!!

YES the burritos are huge, but do they hold their weight in flavor within the OC burrito scene? The Angel burrito comes with your choice of meat, fries, sour cream, guac, rice, and shrimp (generously so). If that filling wasn't already enough to send you into immediate carb overload- it's double wrapped with 2 large flour tortillas. Inside, there's a salsa and foundation drink bar where you can choose red or green salsas and chile vinagre and carrots. The horchata isn't house made, which reflects the quality of the rest of the menu as well. The taquitos are crispy and topped with a generous mountain of cheese, and the nachos are similarly loaded. While exorbitant, they all fall short in terms of taste. And paired with long wait times, subpar service, and lack of seating during the weekends- this becomes a spot you go to only when nothing else is open. IG: socalyumiez

Solid Mexican food! I was craving salty crunchy tortilla chips and these really hit the spot. They were very warm when we got them too. I wanted a simple burrito but they didn't have exactly what I wanted so I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and added rice and chicken ($18 in March 2026). It was more expensive to order that than my partners Cali burrito... The interior is very small and you have to eat outside in the courtyard where there is limited seating. The staff is friendly.

Still a great place for great tacos, roll tacos, burritos and more. Staff are friendly & great: got rolls tacos & taco (it huge) and both are delis. Parking lot in front is small but there is a back lot and street parking. Seating area are both indoor and outside. Great place for Mexican foods to cure the craving. Love this place & glad that I was in the area to stopped by.

Cali Tacos specializes in San Diego style taco and burrito in Orange County and this flagship location has one of the most Yelp reviewed pages in Orange County. Currently this is the flagship location and has another location in Santa Ana. Cali Tacos is known for HUGE burritos and the Cali sauce. [Parking]: The strip mall has a small and free parking lot, but the lot can get pretty packed during busy lunch hours. [Amenity & ordering]: Only two indoor tables to sit, but there are couple outdoor tables available. There's a salsa station with red and green salsa. Both salsas were pretty flavorful, but I really like green sauce as it had the right spicy level (red salas was slightly too spicy for me.) Customers order at the counter and the staff will call the number on the receipt. [Menu]: The two most popular burritos to order here are The Cali Burrito and The Angel Burrito & both burritos require customers to pick either fries or potatoes as a filling. There's an info sheet on the counter listing sauce cup per meal info (e.g. Angel Burrito = 3 Cali Sauce and Cali Burrito & Others = 2 Cali Sauce.) Meat choice includes carne asada (+$0.99), adobada, pollo asada, carnitas, fish, and shrimp. They also have tacos, breakfast burritos, and fries. *** The Cali Burrito (with guacamole, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and any choice of meat and either fries or potatoes - $15.75 with asada extra $0.99): I selected fries and asada. It was an absolutely massive burrito - enough portion for possibly 3 separate meals. The Cali sauce tasted a bit heavy and the burrito itself needed the Cali sauce to enhance the overall flavor profile. Burrito filling itself was decent with fries and asada, but the flavor profile didn't hit the spot. *** 3.5-star on the burrito, but bump up on the HUGE portion as it was one of the biggest and most generous portion burritos I have had at reasonable prices - heck I can see this shop as one of those places feeding families for decades.

    Fish taco

Today, I ordered the Fish Taco which had two nicely battered and perfectly fried white fish fillet sticks. It was garnished with pico de gallo, sour cream, and shredded cabbage. I recommend that you ask for their "Cali sauce", which is a creamy, tangy condiment that goes well with ANY of their tacos and burritos. Otherwise, either their red or green sauces would work well too. I don't care much for the pickled carrots that's also available on their condiments cart. This spot becomes extremely busy during lunch and dinner times so expect long lines. This is a small place with only two tables inside. There is outdoor seating comprised of several metal picnic tables similar to the ones you see at city parks. On a cold, windy night, this is not the ideal place to eat. The process is straightforward: fall in line, order food to go, wait for your number to be called, pick up order, go home, enjoy the fresh, delicious food! I do not recommend ordering for pickup. From my past experience, purportedly because they were busy, my order was not ready at the promised time. The parking is very limited so you may need to park on the street during peak times.

Small but quant. With some table inside and more between building like a patio setting. At the register Amanda only one taken our orders. My eldest son treated us here at Cali Tacos. Carne Asada Burritos, Angel Burritos, Carne Asada Fries & 5 Roll Tacos top with lots of cheese. Wish had shredded lettuces that would have made it perfect. Remind me of (Taquitos). Everything was good:)

The Cali burrito with eggs and pico added, had a majority of french fries. I wasn't sure if there was eggs in the burrito or cheese. The Cali burrito with steak added beans, and pico was filled with steak. That would be great normally however the steak was not seasoned well. The beans were the tastiest thing in that burrito and there was very little of that. Neither of the burritos got finished because we did not enjoy them. We were just hungry and ate what we bought and the other half went in the trash. I hate to waste food.

A lot of food for this price
    Steve O.

Pictures of the fish tacos looked smallish but that's very deceiving. This taco is huge. I separated the tortillas and made two huge fish tacos. The burritos are massive. Ended up being three meals per burrito. Will be back for the breakfast burritos.

    12 rolled tacos
    Steven U.

I hadn't been to Cali Tacos in quite some time...but I was in the neighborhood with a friend and we stopped for a quick bite. I love that they still do rolled tacos. Call them what you will...taquitos, crispy flauta adjacents, crunchy fingers, etc. Who doesn't love a delicious fried savory snack! The best part...you can order a dozen at a time. Yes...because it's important to eat twelve! We'll, at least with a friend... These crunchy wonders are addictive and come with loads of cheddar and cotija cheese. The cheese really adds a ton of intense flavor to these rolled tacos. The guacamole holds everything together and prevents the cheese from escaping...very important! The container you receive the food in is perfect for the 12 rolled tacos. They double stack six, on top of six more, so you can have it separated (so there is no fighting). After eating three, I realized that next time I will go by myself...I really dont need to share!

    Chorizo burrito

I bought some burritos for my works quarterly training. The size of these burritos is more than enough for one person and they jam pack these flour tortillas with a good amount of food. This morning I had their chorizo breakfast burrito and that thing packs a punch in combination with the SAUCE. You have to add the sauce to your burrito. If you're not adding the sauce you're not getting the full experience. Yeah the burritos are good, but the sauce takes it to a whole other level of deliciousness. Burritos are on the pricey side, but just half of one of their burritos is enough to fill me up.

Half of the fish taco. Very delicious and large.
    Bobby G.

Food is always ready on time and fresh if you call in. Plenty of food for the price. Value. They have a large outdoor sitting area that is shared by other shops. I got a fish taco this time and added mango salsa when I got home.

    Carne Asada Cali Burrito
    James A.

HOLY Shi-Tuh-Mus! Every time I go by here, the freakin place is jam packed. Good sign, right? RIGHT! I got the Cali Burrito with carne asada and potatoes instead of fries - to go. I kid you NOT! That thing weighed 10 pounds and I got a cramp carrying it from my car to inside my home. And oh my... was it ever delicious. Staff was super friendly. The place itself isn't really meant for indoor dining, but they have a couple tables inside to sit at, with more tables outside. I will most certainly go back, and you should... GO HERE!

Does anyone know if their cheese/dairy is pasteurized and what kind of cheese are in the burritos?

    I believe it's Monterey jack

Does Cali Tacos have a condiment bar with cilantro, cebollas, limones, salsas y, lo que es más importante, jalapeños en escabeche con zanahorias?…

They used to. It went away during the pandemic and never returned unfortunately.

    Are the beans refried beans?

I can pay with Apple Pay?

I think they do have that option yes

Do they use real eggs in the breakfast burritos, and not that eggbeatergarbage?

From what I recall, the texture of the egg in the burrito felt like from egg beaters. There also weren't any whites in them.

    What's in the monarch burrito?

You guys have a secret low carb menu?

    No they don't, it's Mexican

CarneAsada cup n noodles? is this still available?? i just seen the commercial but don't see this on your menu!

It was always a "secret menu" item. So, you would never see it published anywhere, other than that Facebook video. However, this location did claim to have it. So, call to make sure that they still do, as that video was a while ago.

Why is the monarch burrito not on the menu?

Corn or flour tortillas for burritos and tacos? Options for either or, or both? Thanks

Flour tortillas are used for the burritos. I'm not sure about the tacos, it's been a while since I ordered one from there. I always go with the burritos.

Delivery? My school would like to order some burritos!

    Nope

Does anyone know if they're selling the cup of noodles yet? (Saw on Instagram)?

Yes they are already, went in today to try it..!!

What is the orange sauce I came here once and constantly crave it? I live out of state and I can't even figure the name out to try and make my own ?

Basically a chipotle mayo but it's smoky and delicious

Perfect for a relaxing weekend brunch or a casual meal with family and kids. Here are the dishes we highly recommend: Guacamole & Chips Absolutely addictive. The guacamole was fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor. We couldn't stop eating it. Steak Plate The steak was cooked perfectly tender, and the juicy corn underneath soaked up all the delicious flavors. Every bite felt satisfying. Pulled Pork Tacos Super authentic Mexican-style tacos with rich layers of flavor. The combination of refried beans and avocado sauce made them even better. A few small notes: The restaurant was extremely busy, so the staff seemed a little overwhelmed at times. Service was okay overall, but understandable considering how packed it was. Coffee lovers: Their coffee leaned a bit on the sweeter side for us, so if you prefer less sweetness, it's worth mentioning when ordering. Overall, such a fun and lively brunch spot in Old Towne OC. Nothing pre-made, everything crafted fresh and customized to your liking, and you can absolutely taste the difference. It's tucked off Katella across from the TJ Maxx and Smart & Final center, with parking and entrance in the back. Once inside, you're welcomed by such a friendly team. The space has two dining rooms, a cozy bar at the entrance, and a cute little street-facing patio. We kicked things off with the Picchu and La Diabla cocktails. The Picchu was crisp, refreshing, and light. Super easy to sip. The Diabla had a subtle spicy kick that kept things interesting while still refreshing. For food, we started with the ceviche mixto without octopus, and wow. The citrusy lime flavors were bright and fresh, perfectly balanced with sweet plantain chips on the side. The portion was huge, easily enough for three to four people. Next was the mixed Lomo Saltado. It was packed with flavor, though the chicken leaned a bit dry for me. I would probably go all-in on the beef or shrimp next time. The shrimp were huge. Then came the ribeye tacos and I'm not exaggerating when I say I was in love. The beef was cooked to perfection. Juicy, tender, and every bite felt like a moment. We also ordered extra plantains because these flavors just call for it. Crispy, sweet, and so satisfying. My second drink, the Oye Mi Amore, was a standout for me. I love guava and this one delivered. Now let's talk about the experience because it really made the night. When another server came to box up our food, we didn't catch his name, but he turned a simple paper bag into a whole luxury experience and had us laughing nonstop. Our server then asked about dessert. Of course we said yes since it was date night. She surprised us with a complimentary churro. While we waited, she brought out tequila shots. Totally unexpected and so smooth. Then the churro arrived and it was unlike any I've had. Light, airy, and delicate instead of dense, with just the perfect sweetness. The whipped cream was soft and cloud-like and paired beautifully. As if that wasn't enough, she came back again with another round, this time in snifter glasses with a darker tequila that was rich and incredibly smooth. We never felt rushed. We were just genuinely taken care of the entire time. For the two of us, the total came out to $145, which felt more than fair for the quality and experience. We will 100% be back, and next time we are bringing family and friends. Huge thank you to the staff for making this such a fun and memorable night.

Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable.
