We haven't been here for years so decided to come try them out again. We brought our friends after going to Disneyland to have dinner here. When we drive up, the parking lot was full and the restaurant had a line to order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is very small so there are only 3 tables to sit and it's very hot in there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a few tables outside the patio area to sit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Cali burrito with Carne Asada. They now charge for their Cali sauce which is like a chipotle sauce. It used to be free which was nice but now you have to pay for it. The burrito was huge! My husband and I shared it and we could barely finish our half. The flavor of the carne asada in the burrito was okay and I think could have been more flavorful. Portion size of food here is amazing and worth the money!
Parking is terrible, so just be ready because it is a small lot that has about 10 spots for 5 different retailers. I got the angel burrito it was $22 and huge! Tasted decent but they definitely skimp on the shrimp. My burrito had too much fries and carb overload with the two tortillas. . Also the tacos are around $6 each, but again serving size is huge. Lacking in some flavor depth and they ran out of green salsa by 8PM Will I be coming back? Probably not
The concept of Cali Tacos was inspired by the Torres family's decades of experience running Sarita's Taco Shop in San Diego County, where they built a strong local following over more than 20 years. Their goal was to bring the bold flavors and oversized San Diego-style burritos and tacos to Orange County. These lumberjack portions definitely make you like you're getting bang for your buck. It's crazy to think they would be able to profit in the amount of servings they give, but in reality, it's really quantity over quality. I got their Angel burrito and I remembered it was a humungous! I was just so happy to have lunch and dinner for later. It was jammed packed with protein and their sauces were good too. Make sure to not have any obligations afterwards, because you'll most likely knock out due to food coma. The only sad part about this experience is that I've had eaten here 3x already and I've been stricken with stomach ache twice already, so that's when I know that there's something not fresh about the place. I usually have a strong stomach for greasy or unhealthy food but there's just something here that always messes me up. So eat with caution if you come here! But the value is there but not worth the trouble if you know what I mean.

I wanted a simple burrito but they didn't have exactly what I wanted so I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and added rice and chicken ($18 in March 2026). It was more expensive to order that than my partners Cali burrito... Been coming here for years .. My bf always gets the "Angel Burrito" and I always get the "Cali Burrito" .. I've tried other items but u have to get the burritos cuz they're massive! Lol But for the first time, when we got em tonight and it was a little dry but that's rare... I'll still be back tho. And the price is still reasonable as well since they stuff the burritos and it's size so I believe it getting ur moneys worth

Currently this is the flagship location and has another location in Santa Ana. Cali Tacos is known for HUGE burritos and the Cali sauce. [Parking]: The strip mall has a small and free parking lot, but the lot can get pretty packed during busy lunch hours. [Amenity & ordering]: Only two indoor tables to sit, but there are couple outdoor tables available. There's a salsa station with red and green salsa. Both salsas were pretty flavorful, but I really like green sauce as it had the right spicy level (red salas was slightly too spicy for me.) Customers order at the counter and the staff will call the number on the receipt. [Menu]: The two most popular burritos to order here are The Cali Burrito and The Angel Burrito & both burritos require customers to pick either fries or potatoes as a filling. There's an info sheet on the counter listing sauce cup per meal info (e.g. Angel Burrito = 3 Cali Sauce and Cali Burrito & Others = 2 Cali Sauce.) Meat choice includes carne asada (+$0.99), adobada, pollo asada, carnitas, fish, and shrimp. They also have tacos, breakfast burritos, and fries. *** The Cali Burrito (with guacamole, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and any choice of meat and either fries or potatoes - $15.75 with asada extra $0.99): I selected fries and asada. It was an absolutely massive burrito - enough portion for possibly 3 separate meals. The Cali sauce tasted a bit heavy and the burrito itself needed the Cali sauce to enhance the overall flavor profile. Burrito filling itself was decent with fries and asada, but the flavor profile didn't hit the spot. *** 3.5-star on the burrito, but bump up on the HUGE portion as it was one of the biggest and most generous portion burritos I have had at reasonable prices - heck I can see this shop as one of those places feeding families for decades.

i usually get the cali or angel burrito which is SO GOOD!!! this last time i got the shrimp burrito and it was delicious. my friends are obsessed with cali tacos and now i lowkey am too the burritos, especially the angel, are HUGE like the size of my forearm. if im really hungry ill finish it all in one sitting but most of us leave some for the next day
Still a great place for great tacos, roll tacos, burritos and more. Staff are friendly & great: got rolls tacos & taco (it huge) and both are delis. Parking is hard, small lot. We got taquitos and the asada fries. All was really good. The asada fries needed something more for flavor but overall was really good. I liked the taquitos alot.
Today, I ordered the Fish Taco which had two nicely battered and perfectly fried white fish fillet sticks. It was garnished with pico de gallo, sour cream, and shredded cabbage. I recommend that you ask for their "Cali sauce", which is a creamy, tangy condiment that goes well with ANY of their tacos and burritos. Otherwise, either their red or green sauces would work well too. I don't care much for the pickled carrots that's also available on their condiments cart. This spot becomes extremely busy during lunch and dinner times so expect long lines. This is a small place with only two tables inside. There is outdoor seating comprised of several metal picnic tables similar to the ones you see at city parks. On a cold, windy night, this is not the ideal place to eat. The process is straightforward: fall in line, order food to go, wait for your number to be called, pick up order, go home, enjoy the fresh, delicious food! I do not recommend ordering for pickup. From my past experience, purportedly because they were busy, my order was not ready at the promised time. The parking is very limited so you may need to park on the street during peak times.
Chorizo breakfast burrito is really yummy and very generous size We also got the bacon & sausage, I didn't love the sausage. It's big sausage chunks so if you like sausage you'll like that one. Had my first Cali taco experience and it did not disappoint. The tacos are actual insane. They're loaded to the brim and actually make for good dipping with a bag of their chips before it's a reasonable enough size to pick up and actually eat like a taco. Both the al pastor and fish were great. The Al pastor had amazing flavor and char while the fish was loaded with meat, battered to perfection and still pretty light. Their chips are great fresh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a decent little outdoor seating area and a self serve salsa bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lastly, while we were ordering, waiting and eating, one of their employees was doing a deeeeep clean of the place, which was nice to see the car they were taking. Ordered the Cali Burrito and was surprised that carne asada wasn't included. It costs an extra $1 to add, which doesn't really make sense for a Cali Burrito. Total ~ $19.76 The salsa bar was underwhelming. The red roasted salsa and green verde salsa were both pretty average, but the Cali sauce had a nice chipotle flavor. Overall, I'd give the burrito a 6.5/10. The fries were soggy and unseasoned, the carne asada lacked flavor and had some chewy, fatty pieces, and the guacamole and cheese didn't really stand out. Even with the salsas, the burrito never came together. The employee who helped me was friendly, but the food just didn't live up to the hype. With so many great Mexican spots in OC, I don't see myself coming back read more

This has become a fan favorite place to each for my friend group lol We absolutely LOVE Cali Tacos so much lol After attending a convention together, we decided to get some grub. This was the perfect place! The burritos are massive! Super filling! Soooo tasty. The tacos and loaded fries are huge too! It's such a great value for the money. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I just wish they had better seating lol It's outdoor tables that you used to have to sit on at lunch time in grade school lol I'm not even kidding. Pictures of the fish tacos looked smallish but that's very deceiving. This taco is huge. I separated the tortillas and made two huge fish tacos. The burritos are massive. Ended up being three meals per burrito. Will be back for the breakfast burritos. read more
I hadn't been to Cali Tacos in quite some time...but I was in the neighborhood with a friend and we stopped for a quick bite. I love that they still do rolled tacos. Call them what you will...taquitos, crispy flauta adjacents, crunchy fingers, etc. Who doesn't love a delicious fried savory snack! The best part...you can order a dozen at a time. Yes...because it's important to eat twelve! We'll, at least with a friend... These crunchy wonders are addictive and come with loads of cheddar and cotija cheese. The cheese really adds a ton of intense flavor to these rolled tacos. The guacamole holds everything together and prevents the cheese from escaping...very important! The container you receive the food in is perfect for the 12 rolled tacos. They double stack six, on top of six more, so you can have it separated (so there is no fighting). After eating three, I realized that next time I will go by myself...I really dont need to share! read more
I bought some burritos for my works quarterly training. The size of these burritos is more than enough for one person and they jam pack these flour tortillas with a good amount of food. This morning I had their chorizo breakfast burrito and that thing packs a punch in combination with the SAUCE. You have to add the sauce to your burrito. If you're not adding the sauce you're not getting the full experience. Yeah the burritos are good, but the sauce takes it to a whole other level of deliciousness. Burritos are on the pricey side, but just half of one of their burritos is enough to fill me up. read more

I have been a long time customer since 2019. I can honestly say I feel as if the quality has gone down but prices for whatever reason seem to sky rocket. I get after Covid so many things have changed especially prices for food. But paying almost $50 for the same exact order I got in 2020 which was $18.10 at the time is ridiculous. Yes portions are great but for almost $50 I can go to a restaurant and pay maybe an additional $20 bucks to make it worth it. As of recent times, the ambiance has been not kept clean. Salsa is sometimes cross contaminated with the veggie juice or trash is on the floor. Customer service is a hit or miss. You either get someone eager to take your order or find out the name for pick up, or you get someone who just stares at you wanting the line to clear as fast as possible. Cali tacos was a place I'd get maybe once a month or even every other month. But 2 items for almost $50 is not a place I'm willing to consider any time soon. Wish I had a receipt for a recent transaction but most workers just clear the screen as a no to the receipt. read more
HOLY Shi-Tuh-Mus! Every time I go by here, the freakin place is jam packed. Good sign, right? RIGHT! I got the Cali Burrito with carne asada and potatoes instead of fries - to go. I kid you NOT! That thing weighed 10 pounds and I got a cramp carrying it from my car to inside my home. And oh my... was it ever delicious. Staff was super friendly. The place itself isn't really meant for indoor dining, but they have a couple tables inside to sit at, with more tables outside. I will most certainly go back, and you should... GO HERE! read more
Tried this spot in Orange and got the West Coast burrito. It comes with pico, guac, and your choice of meat. I got the carne asada (there's a small upcharge). The burrito was a huge portion. The meat was a little salty for my taste, but I really liked the tortilla, and pairing it with their green salsa balanced it out really well. The inside space is small, but they do have plenty of outdoor seating, which was nice. read more

Really good tasting and good bang for your buck. Your typical California burrito paired with their Cali sauce, and then loaded up, really doesn't get much better. More expensive than before but still relatively cheap for how much food you're getting. Service was fine and normal, pretty typical looking taco/burrito place. Nothing special for ambiance. read more

I decided to come back to this location for some late night eats and got the same meal that I usually get which is the angel fries. I called it in so that it was ready within 10 to 15 minutes and it was ready within the timeframe which was nice. this time around when eating the fries, although it is still the same and definitely made fresh especially the shrimp...for some reason, It feels like the quality is just not as good as I remember. my partner and I felt that the adobada was definitely on the salty side, and also a bit dry. not really sure what it is, and it could just be my evolvement in flavor profile, but the fries just didn't hit for me anymore. Ambiance is nice and was fairly busy when I arrived. Parking can be quite limited during peak hours, so definitely call in your order to ensure you don't have to stand in line for too long. read more

The Cali burrito with eggs and pico added, had a majority of french fries. I wasn't sure if there was eggs in the burrito or cheese. The Cali burrito with steak added beans, and pico was filled with steak. That would be great normally however the steak was not seasoned well. The beans were the tastiest thing in that burrito and there was very little of that. Neither of the burritos got finished because we did not enjoy them. We were just hungry and ate what we bought and the other half went in the trash. I hate to waste food. read more

Finally, Rolled Tacos! I only ever see them in San Diego and I finally found a place in Orange County. And it's just as good as San Diego's, maybe even better! The fish tacos live up to its hype. Not only are they massive, but delicious and fresh. I do wish the salsa bar had pico de gallo. And the inside could use decor to liven up the place. But the food- SO GOOD. read more

Actually came in and ordered our food this time. Its a really small shop. But they have plenty of seating outdoors. I ordered their angel burrito. And for almost 20 bucks i was thinking to myself it better be the best burrito ever. Order did take a while to come out but they make everything from scratch and to order. But once my burrito came out I was amazed!! The thing must've weighed a good 5 lbs!! It was about a foot long if not longer, packed with yummy goodness. It required some effort to wrap both hands around it, and even then it was difficult to eat. The burrito was collapsing on its own weight!! I was able to split the burrito into 5 meals. So for 20 bucks it was very affordable. It tasted really good too. Even the next day it was still pretty good. I love how full it is with the proteind and the fries and the guacamole. They definitely don't skimp on ingredients!! read more

First time here, my coworker and I shared a burrito they are huge. Service was good. They had just opened up and others had started to come just as I was leaving. They have small dining inside and more dining outside. We enjoyed the food. read more

Our favorite place to go when we want a great breakfast burrito run at work. Their burritos are big, filling and flavorful. Made fresh to order and they sure do not skimp on any of the ingredients. Also, their Cali Sauce is super yummy as well as their red and green sauce but those do have a kick to them. Love coming to this place and we usually call in the order and pick it up to take back to the office. They do have a small indoor area to eat with a salsa bar and an outdoor dining area. Cali Tacos is one of my top 3 favorite places to get burritos. The large, warm, chewy tortillas are filled with generous portions of carne asada, pollo, carnitas or abosada. There's plenty of condiments, red and green salsa and carrots with cebollas. They even have their very own bomb-@ss smokey Cali sauce. For people complaining about the prices, take your broke-ass home. Cali's workers deserve decent pay for the work that they do. Everything is freshly made and so worth it. The service is quick AND they take orders over the phone. There's even a cute patio seating area. Forgive me for the crappy pictures. They used to. It went away during the pandemic and never returned unfortunately.
Do they use real eggs in the breakfast burritos, and not that eggbeatergarbage?
From what I recall, the texture of the egg in the burrito felt like from egg beaters. There also weren't any whites in them.

It was always a "secret menu" item. So, you would never see it published anywhere, other than that Facebook video. However, this location did claim to have it. So, call to make sure that they still do, as that video was a while ago.

Flour tortillas are used for the burritos. I'm not sure about the tacos, it's been a while since I ordered one from there. I always go with the burritos.
