Price was about the same as other track places. But the tacos are huge compared to others. They were so good. I was really surprised. But I'm happy I found a new place to get tacos. The man that helped us didn't even want to be there with the sorry answers he was giving us. I haven't been by for a while but the quality had diminished dramatically. I got 4 chicken taquitos and 2 green chicken tamales. The ate one chicken taquito but halfway through the second I could taste an old refrigerated after taste. If you know, you know. Not freshly made. Through the rest in trash. I then ate one of the tamales and then started on the second only to notice that they were probably old too. Over cooked. On one side. So that went into the trash as well. The service was stellar. They made a mistake on my order and corrected it right away without hesitation. There's lots of room to relax and enjoy you meal. Mine was just not fresh at all today. El Molino de Oro is one of those places we keep coming back to because it never lets us down. This visit, I ordered the 2-taco combination with carne asada, which comes with beans and rice. The asada was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the beans and rice were classic. Today I had a machaca bollilo, it had beans, shredded beef and real egg on a soft roll, It was as filling as a typical breakfast burrito and less than $5. My lady and I were hungry, and she recommended El Molino de Oro. They have two sides. One for pastries, and the other for food. I didn't visit the pastry side, but it was packed. The food side was packed as well. My lady ordered some breakfast items; I had an Asada taco and the 3-cheese enchilada combo. She had some Mexican beverage I had a can of Coke. I wanted a fountain drink but the machine wasn't working. I think it will be fixed after the repairman fixes the frosty machine at McDonalds. I loved my food. As simple as cheese enchiladas are some places just don't get it. The are perfect here. The Asada taco was loaded with meat. I used some of the meat in my rice and beans. My tummy was very happy. My friends and I went here after a hike on a Sunday. I was able to get some of their pozole, which was so good! I also got a ham breakfast burrito (to go for later) and a spinach pineapple agua fresca. My friends has a variety of food, including tortas, chilaquiles, and burritos. Everyone talked about how tasty the food was, how fresh and soft the bread was, and how cheap the prices were! This place used to be good but quality has gone down. It's hit or miss depending on who prepared the food for the day. Some days the carne asada tastes old & rotten in the tortas. Also last week I got an horchata & had to throw it out because it was just like drinking a can of condensed milk with a cup of cinnamon. That's also what it looked like getting poured into the drain. This is one of my favorite places to go to when I'm craving Mexican food. I've always liked coming here, but I was recently wowed by their caldo de res. I usually don't crave caldos, but I decided to try it since I was sick and it was so cold. The caldo de res was incredible! 10/10- so authentic, comforting, and delicious! It was as good as the caldos I've tried in Mexico and really tastes homemade. The meat they use is so tender, the broth is flavorful, and it comes with plenty of vegetables. They give you a large portion too. I loved how the caldo came with finely chopped pieces of onion, cilantro, rice, and limes as well. I now look forward to also trying their caldo de pollo and albondigas. Other than the caldo, their chile relleno is amazing! It was pretty perfect imo. I'm a huge fan of chile relleno, and theirs has just the right amount of cheese inside and egg coating on the outside of the chile. Their chiles are also not undercooked or overcooked and come with a delicious sauce. The caldo de res and chile relleno are some of my favorite items; however, this restaurant has so much more to offer. They have great options including breakfast, pan dulce, coffee, champurrado, aguas frescas, and so many traditional Mexican dishes. The servers and cashier are friendly and the restaurant is clean. There is plenty of seating inside and usually parking in the parking lot right in front. Definitely a go-to spot for Mexican food in Orange. read more

One of my favorite Mexican food spots in Orange County I like to come here after the gym if you're looking for organic handmade tortillas this is the place there. Carne Asada tacos are really hefty if you're used to eating 4 to 5 standard size tacos you'll honestly be satisfied with 2 to 3 on weekends they serve posole and Menudo. I always pair it with their banana Fresca, which is honestly probably the only reason I will drive 25 minutes to this location. It's really good and service is fast The only trouble I have is deciding on what to eat. So far, I've had the ceviche tacos and soups all really good. read more

I have enjoyed this dine in take out restaurant since 2020. The food has been consistently good every time I've gone, except for the last two times. I ordered the same thing both times, Carnitas Nachos. They are my go to item. The last time I was disappointed because there was hardly any Carnitas on my nachos when I got home and dug in. This time, I watched mine being prepared. It went great until the preparer didn't put any cheese on top. The prep station is next to the cash register. I asked, aren't you going to put any cheese on it? She said, "oh, you want cheese"? I said yes. I mean, come on, what are nachos without cheese??! She proceeded to sprinkle, maybe 1/4 cup on the top. Are you kidding me! I said is that it?? By this time, the man at the register got involved. He asked me, "you want more cheese"? I responded yes. He directed her to add more cheese and asked me, to make sure it was enough. I was happy so he proceeded to ring me up...and charged me for extra cheese. WOW!! Are you kidding me!!! These were nachos, the cheese isn't supposed to be a skimpy after thought....it's what makes them nachos for goodness sake. Completely disappointed at this point. Honestly it sucks I have to review this place badly I have been coming here since they've opened as it is less than 5 minutes from my home and normally things are always good there with the cashiers but today I had a very bad experience there the cashier on the bread side was very nice I had ordered a bollilo preparado with only beans and cheese a pretty simple order and she was very nice about it absolutely wonderful service but after 10 mins I asked once if it was almost ready and the lady went and asked the cook she then came back and asked if I had a problem asking myself because the cook yelled at her saying he's not going to make the bollilo with no explanation just yelling and that is not right at all if the cooks have no authority of management why are they yelling at other workers I then went to the other side and asked if the bollilo was gonna be made or not so I can just refund it instead of wasting my lunch hour there the cashier on the food side then stepped into our conversation and told me well if I want it so bad then they'll give me a different type of bollilo which I would have had no problem but she definitely had a strong attitude and was not as helpful as the first cashier where's the respect to your customers??? No oil or any fat on the meat. Tasted like a healthier version of ground beef. - Al Pastor 2/5: Great flavor but also very dry and chewy. - Lengua 3/5: This was the best meat out of the three. So tender and soft but it lacked in flavor. **The one thing that saved the tacos was their green salsa. Different than the typical tomatillo but very limey and it had a kick. Parking is tight. We ordered & our food came out fast. Ordered red & green chicken enchiladas. The green sauce is spicy. The red ones were cheese it's Mexican cheese so not melty. The best of it all was green pork tamale. The masa was tender, the flavor of pork was Soo good. I'm literally heading BK just for tamale. The bakery is on the left and smelled delightful. Mayo 11, 2026. Ocurrio despues de las 6p.m Vamos a menudo a este buen restaurante. masinembargo Tuve una experiencia de mal gusto. Ordene 2 caldos de res, un taco, una agua fresca y un refresco de botella. y me los cobraron. me dieron el recivo. me sente en la mesa y en un par de minutos me llamaron para recoger mis caldos. los puse en la mesa. les puse cilandro, y cebolla, y limon. cuando estaba a punto de cenarme mi caldo, llego el cajero y nos dijo que esa no era nuestra orden, que habiamos pagado por 3 tacos. me quede sorprendido, como que tres tacos. yo ordene 2 caldos de res. pero el cajero insistio en que habia pagado por tres tacos pero solo pague por 2 caldos, un taco y 2 bebidas. De repente el cajero nos recojio los caldos de nuestra mesa, y los llevo a tirar. el cajero insistio que habiamos comprado 3 tacos. mientras tanto los que nos sirvieron los caldos, estaban sorprendidos por el trato que nos estaban dando ya que ellos estaban de testigos que habiamos ordenado 2 caldos de res. Pero no dijeron nada. Hable con el manager y despues de una discusion termino aceptando el error y el mal servicio que se no estaba dando. nos dijo que nos daria los caldos . nos esperamos como 15 minutos y no nos dieron nada. entonces me pare y busque al manager. y este se molesto porque no nos dieron los caldos. se metio a la cocina y para luego salio diciendo que ya no habia caldo. ya se me habia quitado el hambre y tuve que decirle que ya mejor me hiba y que al otro dia regresaria. nos tuvimos que ir a otro restaurante a cenar. esa noche gaste como 50 dolares. pero mas que el dinero fue el trato que se nos dio. Despues de habernos cobrado nos tiraron los caldos sin haberlos ni siquiera probado. En lugar de disculparse, se pusieron a discutir su error de caja. Hubiera sido mejor que nos hubieran dejado los caldos y arreglar su error entre ellos. Nos dejaron ir sin comer. no nos ofrecieron en el momento una disculpa y alguna otra opcion a falta de caldo de res, quizas un caldo de pollo que tenian bastante. Tampoco me dieron el rembolso en el momento. Ya irritado les dije que volveria al siguiente dia. el manager se comprometio a reponer el caldo de res. Al dia siguiente volvimos para ver si nos trataban bien. el trato fue distinto. nos sirvieron lo que ordenamos el dia anterior y el manager cumplio con su promesa. masinembargo deben de tener mas cuidado como tratan a sus clientes cuando hay un error de caja y confusion. en mi caso yo jamas le quitaria la comida a un cliente por un error de caja cometido. al contrario lo dejaria comer en paz. ya que los restaurantes estan en el negocio por sus clientes y para sus clientes. y creo que todos somos importantes si gastas mas o menos. Espero y este mensaje les llegue a los propietarios del restaurante para que entrenen bien a sus cajeros y sepan como llevar una situacion asi de una maneral mas profesional ya que los clientes no tenemos la culpa de como los cajeros manejen sus transacciones de caja. read more
