La Reina market is one of those market that it's nostalgia... I had a feeling im in Ensenada, MX and buying my Tamales in the corner small comedor. The srrvice wS great. In this store everyone is very friendly. The store has lot of products (nostalgia ones) from Mexico. A small restaurant inside. Great selection of fruits, veggies and etc. there is also a bog parking lot outside. The products are reasonably prices and i enjoy my trip...

I'm really sad that the quality of this place has gone down & prices have gone up since influencers started blowing up this place. This was my childhood market & I always loved the quality before. This is the second time I purchase flan & it's burnt. The bottom was inedible it was just a hard brick of bitter burnt sugar. I ate the top because I didn't want to drive all the way back to the store but I definitely won't be purchasing again in the future.

Decent burrito. Good flavor They need to teach them how to wrap it properly. :/

Hands down BEST marinated carne asada in all of north OC. You can pickup everything you need for a tasty bbq. The bakery is good too.

    Capirotada, so disgusting.

Every year I look forward during Easter When La Reyna makes capirotada dessert, I finally got the chance this year and all I found it was already pre-pack and ready to go, ( I usually get it from the counter) I was so exited it look darker and way wetter than before, I was so disappointed, I try eating it but it was disgusting. Please if you have product left because you didn't sell all of it don't try selling it unless it has the quality of a fresh product.

Though pricey, the carne asada is really good. Their pan dulce is top tier for OC even though the prices are border line crazy.

After eating at several Argentinian restaurants recently, I've been on a chimichurri kick. I have…read moretried chimichurri sauces from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's but they aren't really very authentic. A friend recommended seeing what El Gaucho might have, so I visited the next day. The market is easy to spot with a big street sign out front. There are only two parking spots in front, one is a handicapped space. There's plenty of parking around the back though. When you walk in, you will see the main market with lots of items and brands I've never seen before. Slightly to the right is their deli counter with lots of meats, cheeses, and other miscellaneous items. To the right of the entrance is a dining area, and another counter where you can order sandwiches, empanadas, pizza, French fries, and drinks. I was laser focused on getting the chimichurri and leaving since I was short on time. It is in plastic bottles in plain view on on top of the deli counter. I purchased the regular variety, but they also have a spicy version. I could already tell this was going to be way better than the other two sauces I tried. I've had it on a steak, and on my breakfast scrambled eggs, and it's in a whole different league from the grocery versions I tried. It looks just like a restaurant chimichurri, oil based with lots of herbs and spices. I just had a nice filet mignon with chimichurri at a good Argentinan restaurant last week, and this chimichurri is about 90% as good. I moved it from the plastic bottle it comes in to a glass jar which will hopefully help preserve it longer, and store it in the refrigerator. I now have no reason to look elsewhere for chimichurri. My friend visits here periodically and says the sandwiches are excellent. I'll have to return again to try one, get more chimichurri, and explore the market and deli to see what other goodies they have.

Never had a Milanese sandwich, so no idea what to expect. To me the sandwich lacked a little flavor so used the sauce from the empanada on it. The crisp on the beef was spot on and the lettuce was really fresh. Very unassuming place but the staff were so nice. Not sure i would go out of my way to eat here but if I crave empanadas I would get the beef again.
