This place maybe seems to be costly BUT fresh and good meat is the reason we came here! We don't mind if we have extra to spend and looking for good ones! The staffs cut the meat in a good portion of chunk and clean! The meat is fresh and divine!

Our Porterhouse steak was so incredible good. Yes it was expensive $56. But so tender! We shared it and there was still some left. Salesman guy with red hair was the most unfriendly guy. No smile no Hello, nothing! Took the meats we want to purchase to the register, rang us up still no smile. He needs to work on customer service. We drove 40 miles to shop, but so worth it.

What a unassuming place that's set up for people who love to barbecue. I really just needed a sandwich because I was hungry and there wasn't anything around. So I took a chance and this place made a really good sandwich and the gentleman took great care of packaging in properly with the property utensils and a pickle decent potato salad great experience would definitely go there again.

All the meats, etc.

You'll find a very impressive meat selection that will satisfy all of your grilling and cooking needs. I just came in for a sandwich but will be back for some meat. I was impressed with the quality of what I saw in the counters and if the sandwich is any indication, then I will not be disappointed with the cuts and chops I bring home. First on the list are those center cut pork chops that look like porterhouses. I'll keep you updated. Oh yeah, the Italian sub was killer. I would definitely have it again.

If you go here, make sure you can cook or you will not get the full fresh flavors that you always get here.

Nice little butcher shop. Plenty of options to choose from. I like how you can get your meat cut into chunks already prepped.

Ask the Community - Gem Gourmet Meats

Do they have beef back ribs with a lot of meat on the bone?

Yes, but it depends on the ribs you get. I got the giant plate ribs (Dino ribs) and there's a lot of meat on those.

What size are your hamburger patties?

5 pounds of 1/4 Pound frozen burgers in the freezer

Does anyone know if they sell suet (beef fat) for rendering into tallow?

Yes

Do they sell uncooked beef/chicken or lamb bones for stock/broth making?

Yes, they do

Will you have cooked turkeys to order this thanksgiving?

I don't think so. They sell fresh meats and seafood to bring home to cook, haven't seen cooked turkeys ever.

Do they carry quail eggs here?

I'm not sure but it's worth the call. Great friendly people here!

Do they have goat or lamb meat?

They sell lamb loin chops and if you call them they can get a lamb leg in.

Looking for a butcher that has great meaty ribs?

Absolutely - Go in or give them a call and see what they can set aside for you - I've had them cut several items to order.

The prepared foods and food court are definitely a highlight. I always love to grab my bag of fresh baked sweet potatoes and pastries! There are items that you just cannot get at local grocery stores and love my hot cereal in my favorite flavors - sweet potatoes or black sesame . Needless to say, the supermarket gets pretty busy at times, but overall it's a reliable place to shop for Asian staples.

There are 2 little restaurants tucked inside: one featuring ramen and another featuring hand rolls. I believe these are independently owned because you pay for your food on the spot. They also have a very nice serve-yourself-buffet. Grab a container at the start and fill it with whatever strikes your fancy. You pay for your container of food by the pound at check out. They offer a variety of things including popcorn chicken, chicken skewers, beef ribs, tempura, potatoes cakes, and Spam fried rice. I picked up popcorn chicken and Spam fried rice today and I enjoyed both! Right next to the buffet there's a station that cranks out fresh (packaged) sushi. I had to get back on task to look for the kelp noodles! I ended up asking one of the employees for assistance. Lucky for me, he happened to be in charge of the noodle section. Unfortunately, they currently don't carry kelp noodles. Frankly, I'd never heard of them, so now I'm wondering if my son sent me on a wild goose chase The store in general is nicely organized and clean. Aisles are labeled to make it easy to find the general area of what you're looking for if you're new to the store like I was. Overall, a pleasant experience. The hot food buffet will draw me back for sure!!

Some of the food looks like its been sitting there for awhile but I think its just bad warmers. Everything we have eaten here is really good. The poke bowl surprised me, it had great flavor and the rice was not hard even though it was in the cold section. The sandwiches we got here were also really good. I do wish the prices were a little lower. Every dish is basically more than $10. Service is quick, not the friendliest but they got the job done. There is an eating area with fun seating and a microwave, water, napkins etc so you can enjoy your food there. They also have outdoor seating for when it's nice out. There are little restaurants inside that we haven't tried yet. We go a little crazy everytime we come in and buy a bunch of stuff to try each time. It's a fun place to visit.

Even though each store has a strengths, I feel like overall Bristol Farms is the better of the two. This is speaking as millennial and maybe Bristol Farms serves a more immature crowd. Hopefully it stays that way. They have everyday products and they have very niche products. Literally something for everyone their bakery is delicious and of course they have their classic big cookies that are served warm. I haven't had anything from the juice/coffee bar yet, but I will next, however the poke bar and the hot bar, never disappoints and that is why I'm writing this review finally. Today I had a flounder piccata mashed potatoes, perfectly roasted vegetables, and pasta Bolognese with huge chunks of beef. Everything was delicious. The flounder even remained crunchy two hours after leaving the store they don't have the variety in the hot bar that Whole Foods has, however, the quality is far superior, and the flavor is in the upper echelon compared to Whole Foods. These are consistent findings within the self-service food area even within the deli carving station. Sometimes they have turkey briskets. I believe I've even purchased prime rib there and the quality and flavor is always on point consistently the presentation of all of their items never fails either also, every time I go to Bristol Farms you're always greeted with a smile. The staff is really nice and in general they look like they're happy to be there which makes the shopping experience that much better.

I wanted…read moreto buy 10 or 11 of them, but as I was picking off individual cans from four and six packs, someone came by and let me know they don't sell the cans individually. So I reaffirmed their statement by asking, "so I have to buy either all 4pk or 6pk, or none of them?", to which they stated "yes." Ok, well I guess I'm not getting anything.... So I did not get any. I don't want to buy over $100 worth of 4pk-beer to try a wide selection lol I want spend 25 bucks . After I checked out with the rest of my groceries, I went to the customer service booth and asked why they did not sell their tall cans individually. I explained the story above, and the guy let me know it was because they did not want to mess up their inventory in the back. I brought up that nearly every other business lets customers buy the cans individually OR in a pack, and the guy again mentioned it was because they did not want their backstock to get messy. That is the most ridiculous answer ever. Either buy all of the beer, or none of the beer to keep the company's backstock leaner? What on earth does that have to do with being a customer? And come on... selling individual cans would not at all impact the backstock whatsoever, if we are being real. Having a few individual cans out would increase sales, not mess up the backstock or inventory... come on. The guy at the customer service booth told me I could place a special order in the back to pick up at a future date if I wanted to buy a bunch of single cans. It was an unrealistic suggestion for something that they had on hand right now, that I wanted to buy right now. I'm not going to go to the back and place a special order, and come back in a week or so to pick up a few cans of beer. It was a bad experience, but it was mostly just stupid and didn't make any sense. And I didn't end up buying anything.
