We buy a boatload of fresh fish from Dry Dock every week at different farmers markets in OC. Today we got an interesting new piece called King Klip at the Ladera Ranch farmers market. The guy who works this market is so freaking ADORABLE so 10 stars for him!!

Hamachi and Sake sashimi, shiro miso soup with shiitake mushrooms and negi, sushi rice, and tamari for dipping.

The photos of my recent purchase of Dry Dock's outstanding, fresh, buttery, sashimi grade, center cut salmon are not worthy of posting because I couldn't take any! Why??? Because I ate the whole delicious sashimi grade salmon while driving on my way home! Skin and all, like a penguin! Straight down the gullet! I believe one could be arrested and charged for driving under the influence of Dry Dock! Oh yeah, I'm nutzo baby!!! But it's that good! There is no limit to what one can achieve with Dry Dock in ones corner.

Picked up some salmon sushi for my bday. Per lbs it's more than Costco by double and 10-12 bucks less then Toyko Central's fancier salmon. Dry Dock salmon taste and looks better than both places. Service was great. There was only 2 lbs filets and I just wanted a lbs. he got me a 1 lbs and even asked if I wanted it skinned. Which I did because I'm no expert at skinning. I prepped my salmon with a little sugar and salt. Washed it off after 30 min. Wrapped it in a paper towel for later. The color and fatty white lines looked great. Sliced some pieces for nigiri. It was amazing. Loved it! This will be my go to spot for good salmon.

Truly amazing resource for fresh wild shellfish and fish, smoked fish, and canned seafood; around since 1986 I'm sad I didn't know about this earlier. The greatest thing is you can just walk in off the street and get whatever you want with no minimum, this kind of selection normally only available wholesale to restaurants. I came specifically for some fresh Santa Barbara Sea Urchin, I wanted to show my kid how to open it up and what a treat super fresh Uni is. Unfortunately, all of the non-preordered stock was stashed away in their Farmers Market containers but the sweet cashier tried really hard to get one for us running to the back 3 times to check in different areas. We will be back to get this. We did leave with a nice piece of fatty tuna and fresh oysters. O-toro always a treat, especially when served at home cut into larger pieces than you would get at a restaurant. It melts in your mouth and did not last long. It was fun shucking oysters ourselves with improper tools, my oldest loved helping and eating the oysters after. Dry Dock Fish very clean and organized on the inside with a great variety of fresh fish and big bags of lobster, king crab meat, etc... I'm sure are used by local restaurants at huge markups. I also liked seeing their canned fish in totally blank unbranded tins.

The staff were so helpful! This is a small store that has some things on ice, a freezer, and some high quality fish. We opted to just buy some poke by the pound and ate it with some chips for lunch. Reminded me of being in Hawaii a bit. I'll be back to buy some more poke and maybe some of the other seafood!

Bought me some oysters today! Can't believe these were labeled as "small!" So happy with these!

Just shucked and ate some oysters I bought from them today! Delicious, fresh, rich, and creamy! And they're BIG, too! Even though they were listed as "small." The girl who grabbed them for me explained how you can knock them together to tell if they're still fresh. If they sound hollow, it's an indication that they might be bad. I watched her check each one for me as she was packing them up. Since this was the first time I've ever bought oysters to shuck myself, seeing her checking them gave me extra confidence! Everything else looked fresh and clean, too. So I'll definitely be back for more seafood!

We used the Kampachi fish on this one. Our own Filipino Ceviche known as Kinilaw.

We stopped by on a Friday before noon, originally just planning to grab some frozen black cod. But while browsing the market, we spotted sea bream, which is much harder to come by, so we ended up picking up about 1.6 lbs ($35/lb). Haven't tried it yet, but will definitely update this review once we do. This review is actually for the bar seating area, which I believe operates as a separate restaurant under the same owner. You get to taste sushi made from the same fresh seafood being sold in the market. Of course I can't talk about the food without talking about the prices. They have a Happy Hour menu (the green one -- see photos), and when we went, they were also running a BOGO deal on several items and one being black cod $10 for 4 pieces. Such a steal. The slices were on the thinner side, but the quality was still amazing, especially for the price point. Fresh, clean flavors, and you can tell the fish is high quality. I totally wish we could've tried more items, but we had just eaten lunch beforehand. The employees and the owner, I think, was really friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Between the market and the bar, this place is a win. I'll definitely be coming back, both for the fresh fish selection and for a sit down.
