This was a solid Korean grocery store! I recently visited this grocery store on a Saturday night before closing. It wasn't too busy and there was a security guard working the entrance which made it seem safer. Walking around, the selection was pretty decent. There were many Korean and general Asian goods from sauces to instant noodles. There were even hot and cold prepared foods such as sashimi and tteokbokki. I was mainly looking for the Lee's Vietnamese coffee concentrate I got from here before, but I was disappointed that they didn't have any in stock. There were good deals going on at the time I want and I got a reduced sodium spam for around $3.50 compared to other places that would sell them for $5-$6, so it was a good deal. The interior wasn't super nice, but it was decent. The market seemed to be on the older side. There's also a big parking lot shared with other businesses. Overall, a decent experience here. I would come back if I was in the area, but there are better Korea/Asian super markets around.

Arirang is where the OG Fullerton/BP Koreans go to grocery shop, away from the fancy lighting and prices of H-Mart and the good-but-never-great experience at Zion market. Let's start with the meat section here- both the prepared seasoned meats and non-seasoned are the best in the area hands down. Given the pricing, quality and taste. The produce is never really on "sale" here, but reasonable everyday pricing type of thing though the quality can vary. Freezer aisle is tiny as is the adult drink selections, so those are two big minuses if you're in to any of those things. Also the snack aisle is pretty small as well, though stocked with the basics ala shrimp chips and Matdongsan. I've found the workers pretty friendly here which is an unexpected plus. Come to Arirang for the meat section and stay for well-priced produce and many of your Korean pantry staples.

Terrible customer service Manager yelled at me in front of my child I've been a regular at Arirang (AR) Market for their meat selection, but after today, I will not be returning. I had a very upsetting encounter with the manager regarding a pricing error. I picked up three boxes of Choco Pies marked at $3.99 on the shelf. At checkout, they scanned at $5.99. I offered to show the cashier a photo I took of the shelf tag. While the cashier was understanding, the manager (an older woman) completely ignored my proof. She walked back to the aisle to check for herself and then stayed there doing other tasks while I waited at the register with my toddler. When I finally went to find her, she started screaming at me, claiming she saw the price. When I told her it was disappointing that she didn't trust a customer who had photo proof, she began yelling at me, saying I was "talking like sh*t" in front of everyone. It was incredibly embarrassing to be berated in front of other customers and my young son. Aside from the poor service, this market is significantly more expensive than other Korean competitors in the area. Between the high prices and the disrespectful management, it isn't worth it. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Had to do hit AR mart for a quick run for their premium meat, all the veggies you need & quality banchan(the side dishes). Never disappoints

It's a great place to shop, they have everything I need when I'm doing Korean bbq at home. The only downfall is that they don't have an ad.

Most of the items are so pricey. This market will be my last resort if I can't find anything in other Asian market.

My mom wa visiting during the holiday season and she wanted to prepare a homemade seafood paella…read more We tried going to our normal grocery stores to buy fresh seafood and we couldn't find things like mussels, crab, squid, etc. My bf suggested visiting here so we gave it a try. They have a large parking lot, but it's also pretty bus at times. This is a big grocery store with a wide variety of Asian foods. I got some shrimp chips which I like and cannot find at other stores. The seafood section was PERFECT! They had such a wide variety of seafood from fresh in fish tanks, to frozen in the open freezers. I would definitely highly recommend visiting for fresh seafood and Asian foods. The place is pretty crowded and we did look out of place, but I didn't care. People were friendly and even if they had limited English they would try to communicate with us and help us. It is a pretty crowded space so be aware of that. They form one long queue for the checkout and go sorting through the lanes. Overall I have a new go to place for seafood.

Called them to ask if they could exchange the broken bottle and the lady that answered basically told me theres nothing she could do unless I have proof that it broke there. I always buy boxed soju and never had this happen so I never thought to check inside the box. Mishandled there cuz I drove straight home after buying. She also added that I should have caught it and not bought it. I would never in a million year do a review for the market but I am definitely not returning back to this location. Check everything before you leave the store is a lesson I learned. Looking at the bottom of the box I guess there is a little stain mark lol I should have caught that before buying according to the worker there.

Visited the Zion Market in Buena Park for the first time!…read more My first impression was that it's quite a bit bigger than the Irvine location. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a grocery store…read more Before shopping, my family and I had lunch at the tonkatsu restaurant next door and bought some bread afterward. Inside the bread bag was a partially eaten container of seasoned seaweed that I had been eating. Before I even entered the market, the security guard at the entrance stopped me and, in a confrontational tone, asked, "What's this?" I showed him the container and explained that it was simply the seaweed I had been eating. I asked if there was a problem. He replied that the market sells the same product and that it could be misunderstood. I completely understand the need to prevent shoplifting, but instead of politely explaining the situation, he spoke to me in an accusatory manner from the very beginning and even criticized my tone of voice. I've shopped at many grocery stores, but I've never had a security guard confront me before I even entered the store. It completely ruined the shopping experience for my family. My children were surprised and upset by the security guard's rude behavior. They kept asking me what had happened and why he was talking to us that way, which made the whole experience even more disappointing. To avoid any further misunderstanding, I left the container of seaweed at the entrance before going into the store. This was an extremely unpleasant and disappointing experience.

Wow, what a gem! Imagine a small neighborhood Korean Grocery store that imports specialty ban-chan…read morefrom different regions in Korea. But they also have a kitchen and do catering, and make their own Kimchi and Ban Chan as well, FRESH DAILY. Man oh man, their KIMCHI is pure perfection! It is what TOSoonEE (Seoul Kimchi in Garden Grove) used to taste like. $20 but oh so worth it!!! - Fresh ingredients - High quality chili peppers - Not fishy at all - Very well balanced - And nicely fermented so you can start eating as soon as you get home - Today they had the POGI kimchi (which is the full length cabbage heads, that you slice into bite sized chunks), it was so freakin good! They also had picked roots/leaves, etc. - I picked up a few to try that were on sale for $4.99 They had a frozen red bean mochi for $6.99. - It was wrapped in a fragrant leaf - So the mochi takes on the leaf's flavor - Super simple but tastee They also had a mini-dried-shrimp stir fry banchan. - perfectly done Man, they have so much other stuff, grains, teas, dried items, etc. gotta go taste the whole store. They said for catering, you can just call in advance, with a min order of $30. So reasonable. They are open Mon - Sat. until 7pm. Closed on Sundays. They are in the same retail center as Thai Lady. Parking can be tight, cos there is also a martial arts place, parents/parking, etc.
