    Steak and Eggs Breakfast
    Luke M.

The multi-purpose area along Imperial Highway in Brea, reminds me of downtown Sonoma -- Whole Foods, Mendocino Farms, Urban Plates, houses worth more than normal people's first three careers combined. Now picture a squat, unassuming hut across the street, slinging diner food since 1988. That's PK Burgers, and the contrast is the whole point. We'd skipped breakfast, so I went big: steak-and-eggs, $16.99. Three eggs over medium, an 8-9 oz sirloin, hash browns flattened and charred just right, three slices of toast with jam. Feed your hunger for the price of a movie ticket -- and it covers lunch too. Formica tables, dated decor, nothing trying to be anything else. Clean, earnest, unironic. Korean-owned, running on pure Americana, situated defiantly across from a neighborhood unfamiliar with a hash brown scraped off a flat top. Three stars, and I mean it as a compliment. Not every meal needs to impress. Some just need to show up, feed you properly, and stick around for decades doing it.

    Bacon Sausage Burrito Breakfast

Came in on a Saturday morning for a breakfast burrito and was not disappointed! I ordered the bacon and sausage burrito--it came out hot, fresh, and in under 10 minutes. It was absolutely delicious and HUGE! Definitely a great deal at just $12. The staff were super friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in, which made the experience even better. I did take out but it has a cute diner feel inside. Next time, I'd love to try it with some of their salsas, but honestly, it had great flavor all on its own. Will definitely be back!

Great friendly and quick service! Came in for a quick dinner to go after work. I wanted an easy burger/fries combo that wasn't in n out and this IS the spot! It was exactly what I was looking for. It reminded me of those spots you'd go to after school. Perfect burger, fat fries, all fresh. Definitely come in and support this local business. We love PK!

    Fried Zucchini

PK Burgers is under different ownership than it was 2 decades ago, but the food is still bomb. The fried zucchini is still one of the best fried zucchini in town. A small order is still huge, so you get some good bang for your buck. It's the same lil hole in the wall restaurant situated across the street from Whole Foods. The owner has had his work cut out for him but he's always nice and polite. Right now they close everyday at 3!

I stopped by to try the omelette rice bowl, and a corn dog because I was feeling nostalgic. The rice bowl is bland, but the really issue her is with a $4 corn dog that's completely inedible.

We were craving some yummy breakfast food, so PK burgers it is. Nice and warm, quick service and kind service. Can always count on this food to hit the spot.

I've been coming to PK burgers for 27 years since i moved to the area. Lunch is my regular meal there, I love their pastrami sandwiches. This trip was a quick breakfast on the way to church. I had the French toast combo and my girlfriend had steak and eggs. Food was good, as usual. Their prices are always reasonable. Order and pay at the counter, fill your own fountain drinks, and your food is brought to your table when it's ready. Indoor and patio seating for diners. Bright and airy little mom and pop restaurant. Definitely a local gem.

    Denver omelet.

Gave this place a try for breakfast. I had the Denver Omelet with hashbrowns and a side of toasts. It was ok. An hour later, I had to do a number 2 and 3. It wasn't fun. The worker who took the order was nice. Place could use some upgrading. They have tables outside, which is convenient. There are 2 separate entrances for parking. It can be hard to find parking if this place fills up.

This is a bacon and sausage burrito? I've taken 5 bites and it's all hashbrown and hot sauce. I come to give this place a try from all the photos and dissapointed

Ask the Community - Pk Burgers

Is ranch included with fried zucchini? I ordered zucchini and didn't ask but usually it's included at most places.

    Is it dog friendly?

Right now there is no inside seating (or there wasn't as of Tuesday 3/30) but there are about 5 picnic tables outside where you can eat and we did see a couple with a dog. It is right next to Imperial Hwy which is super busy so be sure they are…

Has the quality of food changed since getting new owners?

Yes. I think it is better.

Bottom Line Up Front: If you like Greek food but don't want…read moreto pay big bucks at an traditional sit-down restaurant, Apola can be your yummy, budget-friendly alternative. The Food: Let me start by saying this is clearly an American take on Greek food, so if you're looking for super authentic food, look elsewhere. But if you're OK with a fusion, Apola will satisfy your Mediterranean craving. There are gyros (pita wraps), bowls, combo plates, and burritos (see, there's that American take I was talking about). All of them range in quality from average to really good. Though I've been here several times, I'll focus on my last visit when we got "the Works" pita wrap and a Greek salad bowl. For the Works, it comes with all the fixings, your choice of protein, and fries stuffed inside (yes, inside, not as a side). I chose beef-and-lamb gyro meat, which came in a huge portion. (Pro Tip: I pulled the fries out and got a "free" side. Of course , there's not a lot of fries, but enough to satisfy my fried food craving.) The gyro was big and tasty. For the Greek salad bowl, we also got beef-and-lamb gyro meat. Once again, they hooked it up with the quantity. Nice! The ingredients (tomatoes, cucumber, feta, etc) were all fresh and seasoned nicely. Side note: I do find it odd that they call this dish a salad bowl when it comes in a rectangular plastic tray. But semantics aside, it was quite good. I also ordered a fountain drink and got a Coke. It was nice a crisp with a lot of carbonation. Just the way I like it. It's not as good as the exclusive Coke blend at McDonald's, but was a close second. I have had some pretty watered down Cokes at other places in recent years. The Service: There were two young gentlemen working the last time I visited, and they were both friendly and knowledgeable. They even brought our meals to our table, which was a nice touch for a fast food establishment. The Setting: It's located inside the recently revamped Yorba Linda Downtown, which has revitalized the area and made it a pleasant place to hang out. Unfortunately, on weekends, it's hard to find parking sometimes. Fortunately we came on a weekday and got parking nearby. Inside, Apola is clean and tidy with roughly enough tables and chairs for a variety of party sizes. The Conclusion: Apola offers good Mediterranean-inspired food for a reasonable price (compared to other restaurants these days) -- just don't expect it to be 100% authentic Greek food. It's not perfect and not super cheap, but with the right expectations set, I plan to return on semi-regular basis.

I am super glad that my partner and I finally decided to make the drive there. Between the two of us, we shared four Shrimp Burgers, an order of Shake It Fries, and an order of Shake It Nuggets. For the fries and nuggets, we tried both the cheese and onion seasoning packets. The portion sizes turned out to be bigger than I expected. The standout of the meal was undoubtedly the Shrimp Burger. Each burger was packed with flavor, and the shrimp patty had an especially satisfying, tender texture. The fries and nuggets were also enjoyable, particularly because the seasoning packets allowed us to customize the flavor. Both the cheese and onion seasonings were good, but the onion seasoning was my clear favorite, offering a more savory and aromatic flavor. The fries were nicely crisp with a satisfying crunch, while the nuggets were juicy and tender on the inside. For a fast-food restaurant, the service was impressively quick. There was a lot of hype when this spot first opened, but the hype has died down and I did not have to wait in line during my recent visit. [Parking]: There is a drive-thru lane, but the fast food spot is located in a large plaza so parking was not an issue. [Ordering]: I placed my order via one of two kiosks and in less than five minutes I received a text message stating that my order was ready. However, when I walked up to the pickup counter, the staff looked confused. Once I showed her my text, she realized that my order was indeed ready. [Menu]: The top two items recommended on Yelp are Shrimp Burger and Bulgogi Burger. *** Bulgogi Burger (grilled onion - $6.49): The burger had a sweet aftertaste but came with a soggy bun like McDonald's. The sauce tasted slightly too overwhelming for my liking. Shrimp Burger ($6.99): A solid burger and the shrimp was fried in the shape of a Filet-O-Fish patty. The portion left something to be desired, but it tasted alright. *** Overall think of this place as having an In-N-Out vibe with a red and yellow color scheme but McDonald's-quality burgers. 3.5-star on Bulgogi and Shrimp Burgers but the buns were a bit soggy and sad. Bump down to 3-star on mediocre service.
