I heard that when it opened its first U.S. location in Fullerton, Orange County last year, people were waiting in line for 1-2 hours just to try it. After seeing billboards for this place, I honestly thought it had to be some amazing new burger spot. Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite. The food didn't make a good first impression. The presentation alone left a lot to be desired. The Chicken Sandwich looked hastily assembled, with a squished bun, lettuce spilling everywhere, and a giant chicken filet awkwardly hanging out the sides. The Shrimp and Bulgogi Burger looked just as sloppy. I can't believe they would think that it was OK to serve the burgers to customers this way. Still, I figured maybe they would taste better than they looked. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The Bulgogi Burger was underwhelming and tasted like a basic burger with a super sweet BBQ sauce. The patty was thin, the toppings were messy, and the cheese wasn't melted. We had specifically requested extra melting because we noticed this issue in photos beforehand, but it still arrived the same way. How are people raving on and on about the Shrimp Burger? It tasted so weird. I felt like I was eating fried dough with some shrimp pieces mixed in there. If the patty only consisted of shrimp, made into paste, mixed with breadcrumbs then deep fried, I might've enjoyed it a little more. Quite frankly that was kind of what I had envisioned in my mind, but boy was I disappointed. Since the burgers were fairly small and we couldn't finish the Shrimp Burger because ... "Hello taste?! You in there?'' we ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich hoping it would redeem the meal. Unfortunately, that was another letdown. The chicken looked nothing like the advertised photos. (See the comparison photo if you don't believe me.) The filet was flat, lacked the crispy coating, tasted old and stale, and overall not the kind of fried chicken one would expect from a Korean fried chicken restaurant. Honestly, a fried chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A or even Jack in the Box would taste better. The only good thing about this place is the friendly cashier person and clean space. Sadly, good service and a clean dining room aren't enough to make up for the disappointing food. Finally tried LOTTERIA and got to eat the double bulgogi cheeseburger, fries and the bibim rice burger on this visit. The bulgogi cheeseburger was good but maybe not as 'oh my' as I had hoped. The slices of cheese were not melted onto the patties which I kinda expected them to be? With the bibim rice burger, I had hoped the rice 'buns' were pan fried to a point where they are firm enough to pick up like a burger yet has a soft inside but it was on the soft side so you'll need to eat it with a knife and fork. Flavor was authentic otherwise. I'm still not sure about the shrimp burger??? I do like fish sandwiches so maybe it's better than I think? I had been wanting to try out this place for quite sometime! It is in a small building, but has a this warm and inviting ambiance. Very clean and well-maintained. There is also a t-shirt memorabilia from TXT (K-Pop group) hanging on their wall. The staff was very attentive too. This is the ONLY location in the US! I wish there were more. Ample parking outside and there was a small outdoor seating area. We had ordered through their touch screen machine which was easy. We had the following: * Bulgogi Burger Combo - Opted for the grilled onion topping. Sweet and savory. It was delicious! The fries that came it was just right. I had ordered an additional seasoning. Went a little over a month ago for their shrimp burger special. I haven't had too many shrimp burgers but wow are they delicious. The flavor was packed with the shrimp patty and the sauce. Lotteria was better than I expected and I'm so happy I made the trek out to Fullerton to check it out! Lotteria is a popular fast-food spot in Korea started way back in 1972. I am surprised they picked Fullerton for their first US location as if in the city, this place would be poppin'. My friend and I went on a Saturday early evening and it was not busy at all. Only a couple other tables besides us were sat and only a couple cars went through the Drive-Thru while we were there. Big parking lot serving many businesses but it shouldn't be a problem finding a spot. If dining in or stepping in for take out, order on the iPad then grab your order from the counter once it's ready. They had a good amount of indoor seating with highchairs available, plus a really nice patio area. The tables were all clean & felt relaxed despite being along a busy street. They even had cute little battery-operated candles on the tables, awwww! On the menu, there are a few items from Korea you won't see at this US location but they have most of the basics. Burgers are the main thing here and in order of deliciousness to me, they're ranked: 1.Shrimp Burger - it's just so darn crispy with chunks of shrimp inside! 2. Bulgogi Burger - i need to try the deluxe next time but the basic had delicious flavor. 3. Bibim Rice Burger - this is fun but messy to eat with it's rice patties. it feel apart pretty quickly but if you like spicy gochujang, you'll love this. I loved the shake it chicken, both the cheese and onion flavors were great. I would skip getting the chicken again though because there wasn't much meat under all that deep fried breading. They looked much more plump in the stock photos. The Shake It Chicken was good flavor but I like my protein! The fries come with the same Shake It style cheese or onion flavors which both taste great on fries. Their fries give me McDonald's vibes - skinny and crisp. Their burgers here really surprised me in the best possible way. The texture of the meat was juicy and packed with flavor. I really enjoyed the pickle taste, wish for more of it. The meats were not dry or overly greasy like some burger spots that I've had. Honestly, you can tell that they focus on the quality of the meat, and it really makes the burger stand out. I also tried their shaker fries, which instantly reminded me of the shaker fries you find in the Philippines. I've missed it so much during our trip. My son has been wanting to take me to this Korean Fast Food hamburger place snd the two of us were finally in the area together. I don't know if it was a blessing or a curse because when we arrived, the drive thru line was wrapping around the parking lot and the line to walk up was out the door. But it turned out to be a blessing because in celebration of Mother's Day, their shrimp burger sandwich was a dollar each. Luckily the walk up line was a lot faster than the drive thru. I was impressed with how well controlled they had it. We made it up to the counter and we were allowed to order three of the shrimp burgers for a dollar each and we got the bulgogi burger combo. They said it could take up to an hour for our order to be ready, but it only took a half an hour which was very pleasing. The shrimp burger was my favorite. The crispy shrimp patty with the light tartar sauce. The bulgogi patty was different. I thought it was quite sweet with the bulgogi sauce that they put. The cheesy shaken fries were a nice complement to the sandwiches. As crowded as they were, I was not overwhelmed with the crowds of people and like I said, how the staff took care of all the orders in a true fast food manner and we had no errors to our order. I was pretty excited I was able to go to Fullerton this week because I've been wondering what this place tasted like. I thought of originally ordering two burgers, but discovered that they had a burger that combined both the shrimp and the bulgogi patty together, thanks to the really helpful recommendation from the server. In addition to that, I tried some of the chicken shakers with an onion seasoning, along with a bingsoo, all to the recommendation of the server. First, I was really happy with how the burger turned out. Eating all of the patties together really was something special, but also individually taking bites out of each the shrimp and the bulgogi patties didn't disappoint either. They were both high quality patties with a lot of flavor, which I found a bit surprising because I typically don't like the taste of bulgogi (but I guess that's what happens when you eat it all the time growing up). I'd definitely recommend getting the shrimp bulgogi burger for sure. That recommendation from the server was spot on. The bingsoo, another recommendation, was full of flavor and had a lot of toppings. I was surprised at the end of it too, because when I went outside, I felt like I needed a jacket because that's how chilled I felt after eating it. I really enjoyed this mixture of shaved ice, a vanilla like flavor and the toppings. The only downside is I think they freeze the flower cookie at the top, so it's a bit harder than it would be if it was served at room temperature. But this was definitely worth getting too! For the chicken, I don't know. I went off script here and feel like fries would've been a better choice... I'm kinda disappointed I didn't try the fries instead. Like it's good, but you can get better chicken elsewhere... Also the onion seasoning that you shake in a bag to coat the chicken was pretty sweet. I think a little more sweeter than I anticipated. It's located in Fullerton, but I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed in this launch. Maybe my expectations were too high, but the food was very much on the "It could've been better" side of things. The burger was genuinely just a good concept. I'm sure it's executed better in Korea, but it wasn't that good in my opinion when I tried it. Tried Lotteria out of curiosity -- Korean fast food with some unique menu items you don't see every day. I ordered the Bibim Rice Burger with fries, and it was definitely an interesting experience. The Bibim Rice Burger had rice disks as patties (I know rice disks sounds odd, but there's no other way to describe them, lol), and as I was eating it, it definitely reminded me of eating an actual Bibimbap (Korean mixed rice with assorted veggies and meat). The Bulgogi Deluxe Burger is also fantastic. The Bulgogi seasoning is instantly recognizable and is great. I did not try the fries or the sodas, only two excellent burgers and left full and happy. You order on some tablets and they call you out when the food is ready, so interacting with staff is minimal at best. As a Korean, Lotteria is my favorite fast food in Korea, so I was very excited to try it here. Overall, it was good. But as someone from NorCal, would I come again? Maybe My favorite burgers are the bulgogi and shrimp burgers, so I had to order both. Unfortunately, the bulgogi burger was not as good as the one I had in Korea. The bulgogi sauce was great and tasted just like Korea, but the patty was very disappointing. My partner and I felt it was not fresh and was very dry. If they improve the patty, it would be the perfect bulgogi burger in my opinion. The shrimp burger, however, was very similar to the one in Korea, so I approve. I understand they may not be able to use the exact same ingredients as in Korea, which could slightly change the taste. The exterior is very cute. It's good a worth a try. I've been wanting to check out this place all summer but I heard there were super long lines. I visited recently about an hour before their closing time and there was absolutely no wait. Glad we waited. Don't get me wrong. The food is good. And this is definitely a unique taste. It's just not, stand in line for hours good. I had a shrimp burger, which is pretty much a "fish filet" you would get anywhere else. The bulogogi burger on the other hand, is packed full of flavor, almost like a teriyaki burger. You can even get the bulogogi in a rice bowl. Shaker fries and shaker chicken is a unique taste with cheese or onion flavors. Overall, very good and I would try it again. All of our food was hot and fresh. Be prepared to place your order on the self check out kiosk. Not once were we greeted by any staff. The restaurant is clean and there is a drive thru as well. read more

I waited patiently for the hype to die down and I'm glad I did! I finally went with a couple of friends last Sunday and we did not have to wait in line to place an order. All of our food also came out quickly and everything was great. I got the shrimp burger which used to be one of my favorite items at Lotteria, and it tasted pretty similar to the one I had in Korea. Our group ended up getting extra bags of fries to share because they were hot and crispy. Btw, onion seasoning is better than cheese seasoning :D Would definitely come back! read more
