Came here with a group on a busy night and our server Megan absolutely carried the experience. She was super attentive the entire time, constantly checking on us, changing our grill before we even had to ask, and making sure we never ran out of meats or sauce. Even though the restaurant was packed, she stayed friendly, fast, and organized the whole night! What stood out most was her energy! she made the table feel really welcomed and comfortable instead of rushed like a lot of AYCE KBBQ places. She gave great recommendations, explained menu items for some people in our group who were new to Korean BBQ, and kept the vibe fun the entire time. The restaurant itself was really clean, lively, and had a great atmosphere. The food came out quickly and everything tasted fresh. The brisket, spicy pork belly, and bulgogi were probably our favorites, and the sides and cheese corn were so good too. You can tell why this place is always busy. The wait is just as long as everyone tells you: at least two hours. There is a Boba shop right next-door so my friends and Ithere got a drink and waited it out. This is one of our friends favorite places to come to every time he is in the OC so we had to try it. Honestly, the meat was super high-quality and everything was really good. On the other hand were very low quality in my opinion. The radish paper tasted very old and we told the waiter and he got us new batch, but it was the same and we just did not want to take the risk anymore. The waiter was extremely professional, and so it wasn't his fault. Would come again only if someone really wanted to try it out, but the weight isn't necessarily worth it in my opinion. Heads up, the parking lot is brutal and shared for 2 businesses. Carpool as much as possible during peak times! Came here for my friend's birthday with a party of 7 and had a great time. Apparently this is THE spot for birthdays. They bump the speakers and serve a huge sparkler with the complimentary ice cream, I think every 15 minutes we heard it go off during our time here lol. Good vibes. It's a bit on the pricier side (what isn't nowadays ) but they make up for it with a strong selection. We got the premium ayce menu which is about $55 per person. Great experience and service thanks to Kaipo our server! The wait time was exceptionally long at over 2 hours when checking in at 5 pm on a Saturday. Luckily, our party of 7 utilized the time to catch up and play games as we waited. Since the waitlist is attached to Yelp, you can frequently check your status via the text link or through the app. Once we seated, we ordered immediately. Service was fast, the grill was efficient, and we ran into no issues once we got down to cooking. Kaipo took great care of us, memorized our orders accurately, brought us all the things we needed, and was very kind. We loved getting to know our server, as this made the experience very memorable and personal. Our favorite meats to order were the beef belly and rib fingers. Other notable picks included brisket and fresh pork belly (thick cut pork belly). Steamed egg was also included which was amazing!! Spicy sauce and sesame oil upon request. During our visit, we celebrated a birthday as well. LED sign, sparkler candle, and ice cream was brought out accompanying a song choice/artist that we liked. This was a special birthday and very celebratory. Only downside to this restaurant is parking can be tough. Mr. BBQ is one of those spots that always seems to have a wait, but for good reason. Pro tip: join the waitlist before heading over, but you have to be within 5 miles for it to work. Definitely helps because this place stays packed. There's a decent-sized parking lot, but parking can still be tough just because it's always busy. Inside is huge though, with plenty of tables and enough space to handle larger groups, which is probably why you see so many birthday dinners here. If you've been, you already know the candle/firework birthday presentation always gets the whole room's attention. They have several menu options too, including kids, lunch, dinner, and premium, so there's something for everyone depending on how hungry you are and what you're in the mood for. Service really stood out this visit. Aaron was on it the whole time--super attentive, kept the meats coming, stayed on top of refilling sides, and made sure drinks never sat empty. The selection here is one of the reasons people keep coming back. They have pretty crazy wait times and lines. Came to eat here at 7pm on a Friday night, my friend waitlisted us at 5pm. Honestly would not have ate here if I had to wait here for so long. Could be very loud at the times especially if people have birthdays and it could get hard to hear each other. They have different price menus, with the more expensive menus including extra items. We really loved the beef brisket and ordered a lot of servings of those, but all menus included the classic cuts of meat such as brisket, bulgolgi, pork belly etc. They also have a good selection of seafood such as squid and shrimp. One of my favorite KBBQ spots! I've definitely been here way too many times to count... oops. I just never got around to writing a review. I love the quality of the meat, and I never feel sick after eating here, which has happened to me at other KBBQ places. There was a point when I was coming here almost once a week because a friend kept inviting me out, but didn't have a go-to KBBQ spot as a lot of them weren't from the area...so of course I recommended this place! Wait times can get pretty long in the evenings. I've seen them go over 2.5 hours. That said, the waitlist system makes it much easier to manage. I've personally never had an issue since I usually arrive early and only wait for a table to be set. If you don't want to wait too long, try going just before 4 or 5 PM, or if you come closer towards closing, the wait has been super short. With inflation, the price has definitely gone up since my first visit, but the meat quality is still great, so I don't mind too much. The servers are always super polite and very efficient. Depending on who you get, you might have to flag someone down occasionally, but overall, the food comes out quickly. Sometimes the servers even give great sauce recommendations, especially if they hear it's your first time. Also, one year I came with a friend for a birthday celebration, and they really know how to make it fun. My friend and the server were totally on the same wavelength... it was definitely a little embarrassing for me, but we all had a good laugh afterward! read more

I came here for their lunch and at first I was bummed they didn't have the short ribs available for lunch. But the server suggested the marinated chuck eye and oh my gosh was that a game changer. We came to celebrate my uncle's birthday, and they made it such a fun experience. The vibes in here were great. When dessert came out, they even took song requests while bringing out the ice cream. The servers are friendly. The basic ayce is $30 for lunch and should have almost everything that most people enjoy such as brisket, ribs, bulgogis, etc. All the meat was delicious and juicy. I've heard the talk, from close friends and recommendations this was the best kbbq spot in the city, so I had to give it a try, let's dive in: It was a Sunday night, I already knew the wait time was going to be long, I waited an hour for a party of 3 so that should probably give you a good estimated wait time for busy weekend nights if you're thinking of going. As far as I know I don't think they take reservations, I could be mistaken. The hour went by pretty quick, they have a pretty spacious waiting area too compared to other competitors which was actually an amazing idea. Finally seated, it was almost immediately followed up with our server, he was energetic, had a good vibe to get the night going. They've got plenty of sides here, actually a lot more than competitors than I'm used to, and because my party loves sides we just usually get double as soon as they come out. YES they have rice paper. Menu is pretty standard, they do have a higher tier but I just went with regular dinner. Food came out pretty quick, it was nice to have. Unfortunately the grill wasn't even warmed up by the time the food came, but I'll gladly take that over waiting long for the meats. Their miso pork belly was probably the table favorite, and it was cool to see a mussel option for seafood, I've never had that at a kbbq restaurant. Everything down the menu is pretty solid, tastes great and their brisket sauce is just addictive. Great experience eating here, and to top it off they hook you up with some ice cream to finish off the night, I call that good hospitality. They give a huge variety of banchan here and if there are a few that you really like, they will give you a bigger portion of it. They are constantly refilling and checking to see if you need more. My faves are their japchae, fish cake, and thinly sliced radish. Their meat menu has a great selection. I'm pretty basic though and just opt for beef belly, beef brisket, premium pork belly, and ribeye bulgogi. They are generous with their portions and are quick to refill your meat orders. Ice cream is free at the end of the meal. The flavors rotate. On this trip the options were black cherry, strawberry, and green tea. If it is someone's birthday, they do something special so make sure to let them know if you're celebrating a birthday. The service has always been great whenever we dine here. My family and I love this spot! It's a bit of drive for us but it's so worth it. We come here with just the four of us or sometimes a big group for birthday celebration. They do great birthday celebrations here- so highly recommend if you want a fun surprise for that special person. The meat quality is always great and my kids really enjoy this spot. They have great ban chan and amazing tofu soup! My daughter loves their cold noodles here too- not a lot of kbbq spots serve cold noodles, so happy they have that here. I come often with my family to eat at Mr. BBQ. My youngest son loves to eat Korean BBQ. The parking is a struggle since it is a small plaza. Normally there is a long wait list. My family and I usually ordered from the premium menu. We get the rib eye steak,new york steak, scallop, brisket and pork belly. The steaks were very tender and delicious. Most Korean BBQ don't have scallops on the menu and this is one of the better Korean BBQ l been to. The service is good but sometimes it's a little slow.
