    Spicy Seoul Chicken Sandwich

We came to Holdaak around 1 hour before they closed which I honestly never do because I used to work in the food industry and I hated when people did that to me but not many places were open at the time so we decided on this spot. As it was late nobody else was there but us however, the cashier was very friendly and allowed us the time to decide. I asked her for recommendations on spice because I can't handle and she did not disappoint. I got the original sandwich while my date got the spicy Seoul sandwich and he really liked it. I will be honest and say I was hesitant to get food from a place that closes within the hour because you never know if you'll get fresh food or not to which we did. Both the fries and chicken sandwiches came out pipin out and very crunchy which was amazing. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for a kick of spice that won't ruin your day lol

Delicious! Everything came out fresh, high quality ingredients, and great flavor. Staff was very nice and helpful in answering our questions too. Using the order kiosk gives you some silly nicknames, which was a cute surprise. Would come back again!

This place has gotten EXPENSIVE! Almost $20 dollars for strips and this is without a drink. The strips also got smaller! Love holdaaks but its expensive to eat deep fried chicken strips here! Place is always empty now. They just got too pricey. Should've kept it original but seems they are focusing on fancy packaging. I dont come here often anymore, as for $20 i can spend at a restaurant.

My first time trying Holdaak, we wanted somewhere fast causal before going to the AMC nearby. It was a solid choice! We also went on a Tuesday and they have Tuesday deals. Any 2 chicken sandwiches for 14.99 and combo (original chicken sandwich with fries and a drink) deal for 9.99. We took advantage of these plus tried their loco fries. I got the holdaak spicy sandwich, not too spicy and I liked the diakon slaw on it. Their fries are also really good. The loco fries have cheese sauce and takis on them, they are a little loco but good to try for your first visit. You enter and order from the register or they have a kiosk that you can order from, and then they call your number when your food is ready. There's a few tables, but the place is fairly small. We saw most people coming for take out on that day. Overall enjoyed our first experience here!

I've been eating here for close to 10 years, and I'm still yet to be disappointed. Great prices, prompt service, and flavorful food. Highly recommended!

I've bookmarked this place for the longest time bc of the good reviews & finally got to try it today w/hubby. We came here for lunch & the place wasn't packed so we got to order right away & sit down. Place is small but clean & parking is easy to find. Hubby & I shared the Holdaak spicy chicken sandwich & the holdaak original. They had a special deal for 2 sandwiches at 14.99 which is a great deal. Both sandwiches were delicious! The chicken tenders were perfectly crisp & tender. The garnishes paired well with the sandwich & included an ample amount too but not overpowering. The daikon slaw had a refreshing taste & the spicy comeback sauce was very flavorful & had a lingering taste that kept me wanting more. It wasn't too spicy either. The butter bun was so soft & the best part is, the sandwich was served hot (temperature wise). I look forward to coming back!

So I was at the DMV in Fullerton to get my Real ID and got hungry and needed somewhere to eat some good food. So I yelped a good place to eat near the DMV and this was the place. The food did not disappoint. The chicken had some spice that came at the end of the bite but not overpowering. Absolutely loved the slaw. The food came out five minutes after I ordered it. I was asked twice how the food was and whether I needed anything else. Never had that at any other quick food lunch restaurant before. Was very impressed with the sandwich and the service here. Yum !

I hadn't been in a while so I was pleasantly surprised by the new items on the menu. This is my favorite spot for Korean fried chicken sandwich. Chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Holdaak spicy was spicier than I expected! The loaded loco fries were also yummy, they don't skimp out on the cheese and takis toppings. Service was quick. Casual place with good amount of seating.

This is my absolute favorite go to spot for chicken sandwiches--nothing else compares! They offer a great deal with two chicken sandwiches for just \$15. Ordering is easy and convenient, whether you choose to order online, use the self-ordering kiosk, or speak directly with a cashier. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is excellent. The staff are always kind, friendly, and welcoming, which really adds to the experience. The ambiance is another highlight--spacious, clean, and inviting. Overall, it's the perfect place to enjoy a quality meal with great service in a comfortable setting.

Picked up a to go order for some friends and had the original and spicy wings. The spicy was pretty mild if you're not a huge fan of spice. Original was a good dry rub, crispy without too much batter. Was not a fan of the elote in a cup, could've used more mayo/creaminess. Fries were crispy, salad was just okay.

They served a big, juicy piece of chicken on my sandwich that was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The crinkle cut fries were well seasoned, and the bun was soft and warm. Overall, it was a delicious chicken sandwich that was very satisfying.

I've been coming to this spot for many years, and each time I go, the meal always hits the spot. My go-to is the Holdaak Spicy Sandwich with daikon slaw (soooo good) and some fries on the side. I enjoy taking my friends here so they can experience the delicious Korean fusion chicken sandwiches.

Ask the Community - Holdaak Fried Chicken

This place is marked as having outdoor seating. Is it still available?

There are a few outdoor tables outside this establishment but there is no table service. You order and then pick it up when they call your number. It's pretty much fast food style.

Does this location still have popcorn chicken?

    They do not, unfortunately

    Is your chicken meat halal?

    Unfortunately not.

    Any dairy-free chicken options?

Non of our chicken has dairy in the batter, as far as sauce there's honey mustard and onion ketchup available upon request!

Does the chicken batter have eggs in it?

    No egg in it.

Is the sandwich chicken breast or dark meat?

There was a time it was a thigh, but last few times I've been there it's white. Wish they gave us a choice, I'd go back to dark meat.

    Does it have a drive-thru?

    No.

    Is the breading gluten free?

I didn't really ask of it was gluten free but I'm pretty sure it's not

    Is the meet Halal?

    I doubt it...

    Does this place serve chicken?

    That they do!

How's this place compared to Howlin Ray's chicken?

It's a good chicken sandwich but not the same genre. Howling rays is Nashville hot chicken, this is more Asian inspired and no where near as spicy

    Are there vegan options?

    No... stay away...

And I Got My Sound Chicken just walked into the conversation and immediately sat at the head of the table. But before we even get to the food -- the space. Walking in feels like stepping into a record label headquarters that moonlights as a restaurant. Music memorabilia and album covers plastered across the walls, industrial design that actually works, and a house music soundtrack that hits harder than most clubs I've been to. It's genuinely one of the most distinctive dining environments in LA right now. The kind of place where you look around and think -- someone with real taste put this together. One thing worth mentioning -- it runs warm in there. Like, noticeably warm. I was sweating somewhere between the cold noodles and the first round of chicken. Whether that's by design or just the nature of the space I genuinely cannot confirm. What I can confirm is that it got more manageable over time and I was too busy eating to care for long. Speaking of the cold noodles -- outstanding. A decent kick, beautifully balanced, and the perfect opener before the main event arrives. And then the chicken hits the table. Crispy, juicy, seasoned with the kind of confidence that only comes from people who have truly figured something out. Every bite delivered. No inconsistency, no disappointment -- just genuinely elite Korean fried chicken from start to finish. Better than Pelicana? Honestly? Yes. And I never thought I'd say that.

There is a small lot out front for parking, and I suspect you can park on the street when the lot fills up. We happened to come by during the Korea vs. Mexico game, and understandably, the place gets packed, with a line forming outside. We somehow beat the rush by about 30 minutes and were seated at a table as soon as we entered. We also realized then that they didn't have the all-you-can-eat option, so we ended up ordering the chicken wings, their version of loaded fries, and steamed rice. We also placed the order via the QR code. We had our drinks delivered to our table shortly afterward. The food, however, was taking a long time to get to our table. It may have been a combination of the FIFA World Cup and a staff shortage, but when we were there, there was only 1 kitchen staff member and 1 wait staff member. The lady on the wait staff did everything from serving food to accepting new customers and topping off water for all the tables. A wall separates the restaurant; there is a front room and an inside room, and both rooms had televisions broadcasting the game. The food itself was decent for the price that they charge. The chicken wings came out piping hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy inside. They have some options for different wing flavors. The fries were also delicious and well-fried. I hope the restaurant invests in more wait staff because there were times we needed something from the wait staff. Seeing how busy she was, or sometimes she's just in the front room, we haven't seen her in a while to get whatever we needed. Overall, it was a good experience. The food was good, and the atmosphere is very unique; it's definitely a nice place to get some Korean street food when you're in the area. The only things to note are that parking is limited, food will take a while to cook as it is made fresh, and there will be some waiting to be done if you need wait staff. Last thing to note: I love that they had some Korean Fusion dishes, and I wish I had a bigger stomach to try these as well during our visit, perhaps another time!

Extended hours are on Fridays and Saturdays. This pop up food truck offers a variety of chicken sandwiches, French Fries, wraps, nachos, tenders and more! Most of their combo meals cost between $18.00-$20.00 each. My husband and I both ordered a chicken sandwich combo. My Chicken sandwich only had pickles on it, but he had everything added to his sandwich! There were a few customers ahead of us, so we ended up waiting about 15 minutes for the order. After we got our meal, we decided to eat it in our car fresh instead of bringing it back to the hotel. The chicken sandwich was so delicious! It was super crunchy. I think it was deep fried with the corn flake crust. It was one of the more unique chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken cutlet was relatively thin, but still scrumptious! I haven't had anything like this before! The French Fries were good. They needed a little bit more salt for me. The Cajun corn was slightly spicy. The cooks in the food truck prepare the orders from scratch. While we were waiting for the order, we saw a lot of the chicken cutlets being prepared and deep fried.
