Nice modern clean high ceiling spacious pho place. Was able to find street parking close by on a Saturday. Checked in on the kiosk with tel#. Didn't get any text so after a while was wondering if I had put in correct info, lol. But then a pair got taken in for the bar seating, and noticed there were empty seats there. So asked a server if it's open seating for the bar area, yes! No need to wait for table, just request the bar seating! I got the combo best seller and wife got the brisket. Wow, the combo presented itself with a good amount of beef! Huge bone with lots of meat, plus all the other kinds of beef. The short rib was tender and bountiful, but my favorites were the brisket and I believe the beef belly ones. Wife enjoyed her brisket, so tender and good. It was a quality restaurant with quality/quantity to reflect the price. My only disappointment was that the broth was a nice and beefy broth, but it wasn't the herbaceous fragrant pho broth I was expecting. It was even salted well already, I didn't even use much of the sri racha/hoisin sauces that I usually love to squeeze/dip into every bite of pho, lol. Felt like I was eating more of a Korean sullungtang type of a meal, beefy soup without all the flavors and smells of a pho... Don't get me wrong, it's a quality meal and maybe tastier than eating sullungtang (just with noodles instead of rice). But in that case I would need some kimchi/radish types to balance out the beef soup. As it is, I think the broth is maybe too beefy/rich, without any herb taste/fragrance to balance out the richenss. Wife added some jalapeno into her soup and said that helped a bit. After finishing my bowl, I realized/forgot hey there was not even onion, cilantro in there? I walked inside and was seated in one of their booths in the corner. It's all indoor seating. The space is divided in two with a wall divider. Booths line the back and side wall to the left, with tables on both sides of the dividing wall. There is also counter seating. The menu offers appetizers, drinks, and pho. I ordered the Pho Tom ($17.50) which is the shrimp pho. A robot came and delivered the condiments. It came to the table, turned around, and thanked me when I took the bowl off the top tray. The wait staff delivered the pho. I added in the lime, bean sprouts, jalapeños, mint, and a spoonful of sriracha sitting at the table. The shells were already removed from the tails of the shrimp. The pho was delicious. I enjoyed the broth and texture of the noodles. Staff are friendly and efficient. I was asked if I wanted more noodles for my soup, which was a first for me. Came for the first time and was not disappointed. For a Sunday mid-day our total wait time to sit was about 6 minutes. Inside, everything looked really nice. They even have a robot come by to bring certain food items to the tables. Parmesean wings appetizer came with 3 different dipping sauces and was cooked perfectly. Best thing on the menu IMO. Combination pho also tasted pretty good. There was plenty if meat and the broth tasted smooth and herbal. The broth didn't taste rich like other pho broths I've loved, but definitely wasn't bad. The meat on the short rib that came in it on the bone was super tender and flavorful. Garlic noodles with prawns was good. The noodles were a little too dry for me and maybe needed a small dash of salt but overall the dish was good. Make sure you check in on yelp to get a free tea. That tea was so delicious, I would certainly pay for it next time. Lastly is the service. TL;DR - one of the better OC pho spots with deep, hot broth. Beef belly pho + unlimited extra noodles and the free herbal tea with yelp check in = yes please. But no free sliced onions is major downside and why I knocked to 4 stars instead of 5. This spot is my favorite pho spot in OC personally. While the Pho Tai Bung is technically the "cheapest" but after having tried a few of the other options such as filet mignon, Wagyu, and bone in short rib.... The beef belly just slaps hardest. The broth is deep without being too salty and while they don't offer cilantro like many other pho spots do... (I love cilantro) I don't find myself missing it when I try the broth. I don't feel the need to add sriracha or hoisin sauce to my broth either as the flavor is great as is. Unlimited extra noodles is always such a plus so take advantage of that. The amount of noodles that comes with the initial order is probably smaller than some other spots but I prefer that so that I could always eat perfectly slightly undercooked noodles. Servers are always attentive and plenty of seating so no issues with parties or seats. The robot servers help make orders come efficiently and fast as well. The biggest con I would say and it's honestly a pretty big one for me personally is they recently changed their menu to now charge for sliced onions. This might be the first pho spot ever that I've had to pay for an order of sliced onions. (All Koreans know to make that sliced onion "kimchi" with sriracha and hoisin sauce). But the fact I can't do that freely is why I knock this a point. It's that important lol. Even the amount that comes with the $2 charge for side of sliced white onions is barely enough for 1 person. I get that prices are rising... but giving out free extra noodles and not free sliced white onions is just confusing to me. Or at least give each person in your party an included order of onions. All in all... All about pho is still my fav go-to spot for pho, yes more than Sup Noodle Bar. But sup noodle gives free onions so it's a toss up. read more

The restaurant itself is bigger on the inside compared to what you see outside. Clean and staff are easy to spot walking around as they wear dark colored clothing. I was meeting friends here so I can't speak to how long the wait was since my friends arrived first and already had a table. Though I didn't see anyone outside waiting and there were open tables. I have to join in on the heavy love for this place, I was blown away with how satisfying everything was! A clean restaurant with a modern but simplistic taste, a calm environment to enjoy a meal.. The food and service covered it all for me. I got in on garlic noodles, fish sauce fries, and the filet mignon pho. I can't even begin to decide on which one I liked best. The garlic noodles made for a great appetizer, really started me on the right foot. The fries became addicting the more I ate. We shared these among the 4 at our table, but I battled them to eat the majority. The pho was a real blessing. I am not one for pho (or any soup-like dish) if it is not cold or raining, but no regrets here. The broth is fresh and enriches anything within it. The filet was tender and full of flavor, the perfect addition with the broth. I guess my only complaint is I feel like they shorted me on the meat. One of my buddies ordered the same, and I kid you not, he had at least 2 times more filet in his. Pro-tip from a friend: order the meat raw and add it into your broth when they serve it, so that it doesn't get overcooked ahead of time. Then let it cook on its own in your hot broth for a few mins. I hopped on a train into town to have family night dinner with my niece and nephew on Friday. This place is conveniently located a short walk from the train station. I arrived around 6:30ish. The place was packed. There were 5 groups waiting ahead of me. They have a great digital check-in system. The wait didn't seem like more than 10-15 minutes. There was a steady stream of diners coming and going. The rest of my group didn't arrive until 90 minutes later. The hostess was super kind and sat us immediately when they arrived since I checked in early. Service was fast, attentive and friendly. We ordered Fish Sauce Fries, Naked Eggs, Virgin Garlic Noodles, Pho with 2 Ribs and Pho with rare steak. Fries are must and so addicting. The Naked Eggs blew our minds how delicately rich and flavorful it was. Pho was served with vinegar onions, bean sprouts, jalapeños, limes and Thai basil. I appreciate that the condiments were in a ceramic dish. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I wish they paced the starters and entrees more apart. It was all served at the same time so we had to almost devour the starters so the soups wouldn't get cold. Space was well lit and clean. I took my family here because the egg rolls looked delicious and it was. However, the pho was served in a badly cracked bowl. Imagine if we ate a piece of broken chip. My mom was eating off that bowl and I did not know until she mentioned after. It's not only dangerous, but very unpleasant.
