I was at jury duty at the Fullerton courthouse and we went on lunch break. This shopping center was the closest food to the courthouse so I walked over. I saw so many options but cooking crab and pho jumped out at me. So I went inside. I was greeted by friendly staff and clean dining area. A lot of people were eating shrimp by the lb, but I really wanted Vietnamese food so I opted for the vermicelli bbq pork bowl and some spring rolls. Everything was fresh and fast. You can tell the owner cooks the food with pride here. Several TVs played sports and news channels so you can stay up to date on your favorite subjects. The food is outstanding! We started the dinner off with cajun fries, garlic edamame, and spring rolls! Crazy! We got combo #3 which included 1 lb of shrimp, crawfish, and mussels! We added snow crab legs and eggs as well! The seafood was extremely delicious! Easy to peel, very fresh! The sauce was OUTSTANDING!! We got the whole shabang and did a spice level of hot! We met our family friends for New Year's eve dinner last night. It was a cold, foggy night, we all just wanted to be warm and have comforting food the cold evening. Everyone was pretty hungry, our kids were hangry lol so it was imperative we got food right away. Our friends didn't know what to order but my bff ordered the small Rare steak Pho, we ordered the 2 Large rare steak Pho and baby girl and her friend ordered the Teriyaki chicken plate and my bff's husband ordered the shrimp stir fried noodles which he really enjoyed. The pho was perfectly hot, delicious and inviting lol. They give a good portion too, I couldn't finish it all but it hit the spot perfectly. The kids had fun playing lol they are really friendly here, little slow but they were sort of busy so it's ok. They are always kind here and some nice family moved for us so we could all fit at a table, thank you so much so nice of them. Based on the name Cookin' crab, I didn't think that it was a Vietnamese restaurant, but was excited when I saw that they had Pho on the menu - perfect for a cold rainy day! Service was friendly and quick and I got the filet mignon pho upon the waiter's recommendation. The meat was tender and pho was cooked perfectly. The place is kinda divey, w/ seafood nets on the wall, but they also have TVs up, playing sports & even the movie 'The Proposal' was playing. The 2 men serving that night weren't all smiles & warm greetings, but they definitely were fast & efficient! We got our order in pretty good time. I wouldn't order the calamari again - it was full of onions & was a bit too salty for me. The pho was good; the broth was flavorful. We probably liked the beef salad the most. One star because of our visit today on 8/25/25 at around 6:30pm. Also cashier name is Ky. Not sure if it's the same person in my story. the older gentleman is who is at fault. The younger worker was extremely nice and no issues with him. Anyways, here is what happened. Came today for dinner with my nephews and sister. Service was great as always, until the bill came. The server, main guy tonight brought the pay machine. He pressed buttons and "tip" button to show me final total. I noticed immediately the amount was way over what are bill was. I immediately asked him why it was so high. He said that's the total.. I said no that was not the total. My total was literally $30 under what he had put on the pay device. He then attempted to say "oh no that was you". Like I hadn't even touched the device yet. I ended up pressing the exit screen and asked him to please reset everything. Of course that's when I see he tried to tip himself almost max amount or more. That isn't cool. We love the service here, but don't know if we will be back! Been here about 3 times now because of how good the Flame Broiled Pork with Vermicelli Noodles. They are always on point and a great price too. I would definitely recommend trying this.
