This restaurant is one of our stops whenever we come from Knotts Berry Farm with our Son and his friends. They close late so this is perfect for us who are night owls. This is so far the only one we know that closes late near Knott's Berry Farm. Soup, Spring rolls, Noodles, Vegetable stir fry, Vermicelli with BBQ Beef or BBQ Pork are our usual order here, but the most reason my Son and his friends chose this place is for their pork chops with rice and eggs. My dish looked and tasted more like a fast food place with tiny portions so even though the price looks cheaper compared to other restaurants, it's actually overpriced for what I got. Also, I lost my appetite as soon as I tasted the water that had a strong Clorox bleach taste, and the waitress's solution was to put lemon in it, lol. Aren't I still drinking bleach even I put lemon in it? Will definitely not be returning here and it made sense that the place was very empty during lunchtime. read more

I was dying for some Pho for dinner after have Udon for breakfast. My family and I were lagging to get out of the door and it just kept getting later and later. Restaurants that I was viewing were starting to close. However, Pho 21 being almost 24 hours was a life saver. My whole family got our hungry hands on the most delicious pho. The broth is subtle, like not too over powering, which I like because it gives the other ingredients a chance to shine. I like that the broth is pipping hot because we really need that heat to cook the ingredients. The seafood soup was under $20, but FYI I got 2 shrimps, 1 muscle, 2 octopus pieces and 3 scallops. At first, I thought it wasn't enough at all but now after digging in I see that it was my American-ness that wanted more! Glad I called myself out on that. The staff wasn't exactly friendly but they do their jobs and God bless them I wish them happiness. The store still has Covid 19 plastic up, which felt like a horrible memory but whatever, to each his own. Those times were a trip! The best part of going to this location was a sweet old (maybe 70s) Vietnamese woman. She was sitting on the floor selling little trays of veggies. You could tell she struggles and is honorable because she isn't asking for handouts just for you to support her business and buy some little onions on a plate. If you need a place to eat with a big group and later at night, this is definitely one of those spots! For a Friday night, they were able to accommodate us pretty quickly and split us up. Got our orders and our food within 15min or so? I'm sure it would feel fast or faster with a smaller group since they had to prep more for us. As for the food, I got a large 9 with rare steak and brisket to share with a food. Overall I'd rate the pho as average. Nothing particularly bad nor great about it. It satisfies the craving. Such a staple to remember pho21! Open until 2am, good pricing, and super quick service.. what more can you ask for?! The vibe is very much so a hole in the wall spot for a late night meal. The price difference between their small and a large is not a lot at all, but they do pack so many noodles with the small, it is always filling! I got a #5 rare beef pho and the meat was not chewy or tough, and the broth was hot enough to cook the meat all the way through The flavor of the broth isn't too deep as other places but not noticeable enough to set off the taste. They brought out our pho pretty quickly after ordering, provided us plenty of lime, beansprouts, and sliced onion too!! Their sauces are always filled on the table, and we got lollipops with our check! Parking is always easy and free in the lot outside and it doesn't usually get too hectic for parking. I really wanted to like this place because it's cheap, but it was a huge disappointment. I ordered the rare steak pho, and the broth had almost no flavor at all. Pho is all about the broth, and this one was extremely bland. The meat was another letdown, I got maybe five pieces of steak total, and they were very chewy and low quality, not tender at all. The vegetable tray that comes with the pho was honestly concerning. The jalapeños were visibly moldy, and the lemons were rock-hard. I couldn't squeeze any juice out of them at all. That alone made me question the cleanliness and food safety. The service was also bad. Our server got our order wrong and wasn't friendly about fixing it. Mistakes happen, but the attitude was off, and it felt like we were bothering her by asking for what we originally ordered. The ambiance was probably the worst part. The place felt dirty and uncomfortable. Watermarks all over the cups, stuff on the floor near the kitchen, and it genuinely looked like the floors hadn't been mopped in months, if not years. You basically walk through the kitchen to get to the restroom, which made the whole experience feel unsanitary. After all of that, I didn't leave a tip, and the server actually told us we had to leave one. That was the final straw. A tip is earned, not demanded, especially after poor food, poor service, and a dirty environment. Cheap prices don't make up for bad food, bad service, and a gross atmosphere. Got a delivery order tonight for a chicken pho, when I got it the chicken was RAW. Disgusting, I understand the chicken cooking in the hot broth, but for delivery orders the chicken should be fully cooked due to the broth not being as hot when it comes out by the time it gets to me. The pho was decent. From the color and taste, I don't believe this is a place that simmers their beef bones, I think they use those instant pho cubes/mix. Flavor was strong, they give you a good amount of food, and it came out in within a minute. The reason for the 2-star is the customer service. At first when I came in, they brought water right away, and one napkin (no napkins on table). Soon as I ordered, the bean sprouts, jalapeños, and lime came out right away; I was like, "This is a nice service". But throughout my dining experience there, I saw a few things that I did not like. This establishment seems to be owned by Koreans, and if you want to see what it's meant by "Korean Superiority Complex" then you'll see it here. Friendly service and a few check-ins with Korean diners, if you're not Korean, they don't check on you after you ordered, no smiles when you come in or when you order the food. I figured it is what it is, I'm just here to eat. Then a Dasher (DoorDash driver) came in to pick up the food. This lady was respectful and kind. When she got the food she asked how to pronounce the name of the food (pho). One of the two Korean ladies working ignored her, and the other didn't understand her. When the dasher finally got her point across--she said she always sees it and hear people pronounce it differently--the shorter Korean lady (pictured) seemed annoyed. She also couldn't pronounce it correctly. And when the dasher said thank you, the Korean lady was like, "Yeah, yeah, yeah," then turned her back to the dasher right away. Dasher said sorry, the Korean lady again said, "Yah, yah, yah," while raising her hand. Holy eff! That attitude pissed me off. I'm always a champion for local small business establishments, but this is the one place I WILL NEVER COME AGAIN or recommend to anyone. You can't treat people like that especially if they ask for your help in pronouncing a food that you sell. Be human! And please, if you're gonna have people working in front, please at least have them to learn a bit of English, not much, just enough to understand. read more

I ordered the rare steak pho, and the broth was very weak in flavor, which is a big issue since the broth is what makes pho good. The portion of steak was small, and the meat itself was tough instead of soft and tender. The veggie plate that came with the soup also didn't seem very fresh. The lemons were so firm that no juice would come out, which didn't leave a good impression about ingredient quality. Service didn't help the situation either. Our order came out wrong, and when we asked to fix it, the server didn't seem welcoming or helpful. Errors happen, but it felt like we were being a bother just asking for the correct order. Cleanliness was another problem. The restaurant overall didn't feel well maintained. There were stains on the cups, debris on the floor near the kitchen, and the floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned properly in a long time. The restroom was also very dirty and honestly seemed like something that could raise health concerns. I normally get Shaken Beef (filet mignon aka flank steak with onions), but lemon grass chicken is one of my old favorites and not on the menu in most places. I got it served mild, but next time I'll get it a little spicier. It was really good with the stir fried broccoli and napa cabbage. Total was $50 for both of us, including tip and we both had leftovers, so I had lunch and dinner the next day. A really good deal!
