My friends told me this place has improved a lot compared to before, so I decided to visit again after a while -- and I'm so glad I did. Every single ingredient tasted incredibly fresh and high quality. When the ingredients are this good, there's really no need to say much about the flavor -- it speaks for itself. From the onions, lemons, and bean sprouts to every garnish on the plate, everything was perfectly clean and fresh, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The pho broth was especially impressive -- light, clean, and not greasy at all, making it very easy and comfortable to eat. You can truly taste the care put into it. The spring rolls were also outstanding. Fresh, light, and perfectly balanced in flavor -- I would give them top marks without hesitation. I often go to a well-known pho restaurant in La Mirada, but honestly, I would rate this place even higher. Definitely coming back again! ### One more thing I really appreciated -- all of the bowls and cups were glass, which made me feel so much better. Our go-to place for Pho. We've been going here for years now and the food is always great. Its is one of the few Pho places that have good "veggie" broth and good veggie fried rice. They even have veggie spring rolls. These are hard to find at Pho places for vegetarians. For all the meat eaters, the Pho is really too. My girlfriend wanted soup for dinner and suggested Pho. Pho Fula is very close to her place so we ate there. No waiting which was nice, and as we were walking in a friend from her meetup group called out to us, she was eating there with her kids. Service was slow, long wait for water, then drink order, followed by dinner. We ordered Pho each and an order of shrimp spring rolls. The Pho came out before the spring rolls. The broth had a flavor that while familiar i couldn't place. Slightly minty and lightly sweet. While it was pleasant, it didn't pair well with my Pho in my opinion. As I continued to eat I became increasingly aware of the taste. Eventually I stopped eating the noodles and picked out the shrimp. There was a ton of noodles in my bowl, every time I thought that I was getting close to having eaten them all more were there. It seemed like an almost magical refilling noodles bowl. The shrimp weren't cleaned. I noticed the waste line hanging out of a shrimp as I prepared to eat it so I tried to remove it with my fingers discretely. It didn't come out so I ate the cleaned portion of the tail. The next shrimp was the same way. I realized that all of the shrimp had been partially butterflied, but the waste lines weren't removed. So I ate only the butterflied section of the shrimp. While I don't think that it would make someone sick, it definitely wasn't very appetizing to see that hanging off the shrimp. The partially cleaned shrimp and the odd flavor note in the Pho broth combined to make me quit eating before I normally would have. I don't think that I will return. read more

The staff felt unhelpful, inattentive, and overall just seemed like they didn't care. It took far too long to get basic things like our drinks or check-ins, and any questions we asked were met with attitude or no effort at all. It's a shame because the kitchen clearly knows what they're doing, but the service needs major improvement. Good food can't make up for bad customer service. We came to watch a musical play close by and we ended up choosing Pho Fula to eat lunch. When we arrived there, I told the the owner or maybe the manager that it's for 17 people. He asked if we called so I said "Sorry, No and that it was not a planned lunch with family and friends". He then said "You should've called first." I told him we could just leave and go somewhere else but he ended up showing my patents where to sit. First, the place was not packed, there's less than 10 eating when we got there. While eating, two more families who were friends and part of the show came after telling them where we at. The restaurant ended up having over 30 customers because of us. The pho and chow mein that I ordered were good. No complaints from my other fmily members and friends about their food so I think the liked it. Besides the rude welcome, I probably would've given this place 4 or maybe even 5 stars. But, I rather take my family and friends somewhere else and not to deal with rude owner or manager who should've been thankful for having customers. I really wanted to like this place but this just wasn't it for me. I will say that their pho broth is very good -- flavorful, clear, and piping hot. But the noodles were overcooked and came in a big tight clump. The meat not only tasted low quality but there barely was any in my "large" Pho Dac Biet I ordered. We also ordered a banh mi and while the grilled pork in it was good, that's the only positive I can say about it. No one came by for water refills. They have fans mounted on the walls blasting, so the entire time I was trying to catch my napkin or chopstick wrapper from flying off the table. We ordered chow mein and get a goddamn birds nest of crispy fried noodles which are basically inedible? I ordered the house chow fun and half my ingredients were stale and the rice noodles at the bottom were so overcooked they wouldn't stay on a fork or chopsticks. My broccoli was half yellow and so old it looked expired. Come on guys really?! We asked to have the birds nest noodles replaced with normal noodles and the SOB charged us for them!!! This is "after" confusing the shit out of us and serving us that inedible bullshit we didn't order!!! I swear to God I don't know what two diseases I would rather have them eat at this place again. I would say this is one of the better pho restaurants in the area so of course I would recommend the pho. The broth is dark, flavorful, and delicious. Meat and noodle portions are typical. If you want a little more, then get the large. I've ordered other menu items for others like the banh mi and seafood noodle soup and was told that they were good too. Will NOT return. Monday, afternoon it was not busy but they did have about 5 patrons/tables full. My beef is the food servings go smaller and the price went up (which is understandable since food/groceries everywhere went up)...BUT...it was the service that was very disappointing. I placed an order for pick up and that was fine, but when I entered to pick it up, there were two staff there...one was filling up waters on the table and the other was picking up dishes, they both saw me standing at the counter, and they continued to ignore me. I awkwardly stood there. I saw my order on the counter. But since I was being ignored, I went to use the bathroom, thinking they would get to me after they finished what they were doing, but when I returned my order wasn't there so I thought it was for someone else. I stood there awkwardly for another couple of minutes and I saw one of the guys had his back towards me filling some small containers so I walked over to him and said "excuse me", and he took a bit (I thought he didn't hear me) but then he turned around and said your order was ready right away but since I wasn't there he put my order away (what the rude heck?). Then he got it and I said thank you and left. The rudeness. (their fake smile after the fact) and awkwardness is enough for me not to return. Later I explained this to a friend and she said it is probably because they are not getting a tip from me for take out. I have mostly been ordering the trays of egg rolls and shrimp spring rolls for parties and potluck, and they are delicious! The egg rolls come with a sweet sour vinegar based dipping sauce plus a lot of fresh lettuce, and the spring rolls come with a tasty peanut sauce. Every time I serve them, I get many comments on how fresh and good they are. The staff are kind and also cut the rolls in half upon my request. read more

I love the food at Phofula, I go often with friends. There's a waiter there, middle aged, he has the worst attitude. Recently I was there with 2 friends when he stoped at our table and looked at the tv above our heads, the news was announcing that Bianco was running against Newsom for CA Governor. He so rudely announced to us that Newsom needs to go and he's not a good Governor. Politics do not belong in a family restaurant and his comment insulted me and my friends. I'm not usually one to crave Vietnamese food, but with little to no expectations, I had a great experience here & couldn't pass up the opportunity to write this review. Our waiter was so kind and so incredibly accommodating, that really made the experience unforgettable. I should've gotten his name, but he truly provided better quality service than a lot of other high-end restaurants out there. Sister was craving pho today so we came to this local Vietnamese restaurant in La Habra. Pho Fula is located in the same mall as Target, Chipotle, and Corner Bakery, so parking is very convenient. At first, I wasn't hungry at all, but the first-time menu options intrigued me. We ordered: 1. Pork Spring Roll (7/5) - this isn't your typical shrimp/pork spring roll.. it's filled with veggies (not noodles) which is a huge plus for me. Chef also added a little crunch to every bite. As someone who loves crunchy texture, I appreciated the creativity of that little crisp hidden inside the roll. It's the little things that make all the difference. The pork itself is charbroiled sausage, and not the fried pork you would normally expect, but still yummy! I'd get it again as an appetizer anytime! This is a Child-friendly menu option too :) 2. Shrimp Patty wrapped in bean curd skin (4/5) - ok, the name of this dish was a tad misleading, but I still found my way of enjoying it! Tbh, the filling tastes like Korean fishcakes (odeng) and almost nothing like shrimp, but the outer crispy skin tastes like smoked Mexican chicharrones which I thought was an interesting flavor combination. Eating it by itself was a bit overwhelming because it's quite big and it can get boring after a few bites. So, I cut a piece of it, and wrapped it in lettuce (garnish lol) and pickled carrots & radishes with chili sauce & peanut sauce and I never got bored of it again! I'm not sure if I'll get this appetizer again, but it was worth the experience! 3. Charbroiled beef plate (3.5/5) - compared to the other dishes we had today, there was nothing that really stood out. The beef was as expected, baked egg was alright, and the fried shrimp paste tasted exactly like my second appetizer, so I don't think it was the best choice of the night. Pickled cabbage was yummy though; I had it with the pho! 4. Beef Brisket Pho (5/5): after all, this is the real reason we came for... it's the standard pho and it was just how sister wanted it to be. Contrary to other pho places who do very thin slices of briskets, Pho Fula does lots of thick-cut briskets and they are cooked to well-done by the time it comes out. Sister ate all the noodles, but was unable to finish all the meat because Fula was really generous with their meat portions. Even though some dishes were hit-or-miss, I really enjoyed dining here in-person because of our server's excellent, quality service. Prices are very reasonable and I will include them in the pictures as well. I also wanted to try their Durian smoothie, but they were out of durian today. I never eat there, but I regularly get food to go. They're always very polite, they get the door for me on the way out when I have a large order, the food is always fresh and I've never been disappointed with it. I also love the music they've got going, it's always the parts of pop music that I like. They're 5 minutes from my house and they've become our go-to for Pho.
