I ate at Pho Fula today, I'm pretty sure they've ruined pho for me forever... because now every bowl I have from anywhere else is going to have to compete. I ordered the Prime Rib Pho, which I'd never had before, and it was ridiculously good. The broth was rich and flavorful, the prime rib was amazing, and I spent most of the meal wondering where this bowl of happiness had been all my life. I even took the prime rib bones home for my dogs. Based on the speed at which the bones disappeared, my dogs would also like to leave a five-star review. No written comments though, just tail wagging and a request that I go back again tomorrow. The only negative part of the experience was discovering that my wife apparently believes marriage includes joint custody of my Pho. I'm still investigating how much she stole when I wasn't looking. The spring rolls were also outstanding. Fresh, light, and perfectly balanced in flavor -- I would give them top marks without hesitation. I often go to a well-known pho restaurant in La Mirada, but honestly, I would rate this place even higher. My girlfriend wanted soup for dinner and suggested Pho. Pho Fula is very close to her place so we ate there. No waiting which was nice, and as we were walking in a friend from her meetup group called out to us, she was eating there with her kids. Service was slow, long wait for water, then drink order, followed by dinner. We ordered Pho each and an order of shrimp spring rolls. The Pho came out before the spring rolls. The broth had a flavor that while familiar i couldn't place. Slightly minty and lightly sweet. While it was pleasant, it didn't pair well with my Pho in my opinion. As I continued to eat I became increasingly aware of the taste. Eventually I stopped eating the noodles and picked out the shrimp. There was a ton of noodles in my bowl, every time I thought that I was getting close to having eaten them all more were there. It seemed like an almost magical refilling noodles bowl. The shrimp weren't cleaned. I noticed the waste line hanging out of a shrimp as I prepared to eat it so I tried to remove it with my fingers discretely. It didn't come out so I ate the cleaned portion of the tail. The next shrimp was the same way. I realized that all of the shrimp had been partially butterflied, but the waste lines weren't removed. So I ate only the butterflied section of the shrimp. While I don't think that it would make someone sick, it definitely wasn't very appetizing to see that hanging off the shrimp. The partially cleaned shrimp and the odd flavor note in the Pho broth combined to make me quit eating before I normally would have. I don't think that I will return. read more

I have been going to Pho Fula for a while just to pick up their delicious egg rolls. I also tried the yummy fried rice and their Pho which is also really good. The customer service is great they are always very nice. It does get packed later in the day for dinner but they are always great. read more

The fried rice here is not made fresh to order. It has none of the open flame char of a wok and the texture of the rice is a clear tell that they pre make the stuff and reheat it, likely in a microwave based off the way the heat comes out of the rice when you take a scoop out of it. First of all the person that answered the phone which was a guy at 5:25 pm on August 10th is very rude, no professionalism in customer service and speaks with an attitude. Second, on the menu it says small size is available but on Togo he says only one size available which is large, where does it say that online. The business owner should see my review and do the training again on the employees because what's the point of selling delicious food if people wouldn't want to go again because of TERRIBLE customer service. We came to watch a musical play close by and we ended up choosing Pho Fula to eat lunch. When we arrived there, I told the the owner or maybe the manager that it's for 17 people. He asked if we called so I said "Sorry, No and that it was not a planned lunch with family and friends". He then said "You should've called first." I told him we could just leave and go somewhere else but he ended up showing my patents where to sit. First, the place was not packed, there's less than 10 eating when we got there. While eating, two more families who were friends and part of the show came after telling them where we at. The restaurant ended up having over 30 customers because of us. The pho and chow mein that I ordered were good. No complaints from my other fmily members and friends about their food so I think the liked it. Besides the rude welcome, I probably would've given this place 4 or maybe even 5 stars. But, I rather take my family and friends somewhere else and not to deal with rude owner or manager who should've been thankful for having customers. I would say this is one of the better pho restaurants in the area so of course I would recommend the pho. The broth is dark, flavorful, and delicious. Meat and noodle portions are typical. If you want a little more, then get the large. I've ordered other menu items for others like the banh mi and seafood noodle soup and was told that they were good too. I really wanted to like this place but this just wasn't it for me. I will say that their pho broth is very good -- flavorful, clear, and piping hot. But the noodles were overcooked and came in a big tight clump. The meat not only tasted low quality but there barely was any in my "large" Pho Dac Biet I ordered. We also ordered a banh mi and while the grilled pork in it was good, that's the only positive I can say about it. No one came by for water refills. They have fans mounted on the walls blasting, so the entire time I was trying to catch my napkin or chopstick wrapper from flying off the table. My Lord, where do I start? First of all I wanna say I know more Vietnamese than our waiter knew English. After confusing the living beJesus out of us from the get-go trying to explain noodles to us this is what happened. My wife ended up with the equivalent of a fu#%ing bird's nest with stale imitation fish products stuck in the center of it. WTF was this thing? We ordered chow mein and get a goddamn birds nest of crispy fried noodles which are basically inedible? I ordered the house chow fun and half my ingredients were stale and the rice noodles at the bottom were so overcooked they wouldn't stay on a fork or chopsticks. My broccoli was half yellow and so old it looked expired. Come on guys really?! We asked to have the birds nest noodles replaced with normal noodles and the SOB charged us for them!!! This is "after" confusing the shit out of us and serving us that inedible bullshit we didn't order!!! I swear to God I don't know what two diseases I would rather have them eat at this place again. We've always liked coming here because it's close to home, the flavors are always spot on, and the staff is super friendly. They seem to enjoy being there. Today I wanted to review because my son and I came to share a Veggie pho and they brought him everything he needed for his size dining, and I didnt have to ask. Will NOT return. Monday, afternoon it was not busy but they did have about 5 patrons/tables full. My beef is the food servings go smaller and the price went up (which is understandable since food/groceries everywhere went up)...BUT...it was the service that was very disappointing. I placed an order for pick up and that was fine, but when I entered to pick it up, there were two staff there...one was filling up waters on the table and the other was picking up dishes, they both saw me standing at the counter, and they continued to ignore me. I awkwardly stood there. I saw my order on the counter. But since I was being ignored, I went to use the bathroom, thinking they would get to me after they finished what they were doing, but when I returned my order wasn't there so I thought it was for someone else. I stood there awkwardly for another couple of minutes and I saw one of the guys had his back towards me filling some small containers so I walked over to him and said "excuse me", and he took a bit (I thought he didn't hear me) but then he turned around and said your order was ready right away but since I wasn't there he put my order away (what the rude heck?). Then he got it and I said thank you and left. The rudeness. (their fake smile after the fact) and awkwardness is enough for me not to return. Later I explained this to a friend and she said it is probably because they are not getting a tip from me for take out.
