is like participating in a food channel w/o even trying to. The amount of deliciousness and variety of goodness had me eating none stop. The service is fast and attentive, b4 having the chance to let the mouth watering beef melt in my mouth the Pork belly was already being marinated and started to sizzle on the grill The best part is the fact that everything on the table paired perfectly with each other. Is like a game of mix N match to see how many different combinations of delicious flavors can fit n ur mouth wit each bite When the cold noodle came the icy delicious broth aka a big bowl of bottom less naenfmyeon slushy hit the spot so well we got another bowl of spicy bibin naengmyeon just because The dinning area is very clean and the ambiance was amazing, big Netflex k-drama energy Love it

I really enjoyed this place. Pros: - Large, ample parking lot - Clean, warm, well lit interior - Attentive servers who worked well together - Noise level was a tad loud but it was still easy to have a conversation (i also like restaurant noise) The only small con was a longer than average wait time for me (luckily I wasn't in much of a rush). The food: - Mul naengmyeon: I'm generally not a huge fan of Pyongyang style but this place won me over. The broth is subtle but still has a lot of depth. The noodles were light and toppings super fresh. - Pibim naengmyeon: even though the other dish is the specialty, I actually enjoyed their pibim naengmyon more. Consistency, textures, flavor intensity: all were really well balanced. - Galbi: Very good. Nice sweet and savory dish to complement the cold noodles. They also comped us a small Kimchi-buchimgae. I think this place is a must try if you're a naengmyeon lover. I'll be back for the bossam.

Mo Ran Gak has the best naengmyeon in Orange County! I've been coming here for years, and I'm so glad they opened a location in Fullerton that's much closer for me. The naengmyeon always hits the spot, especially on a warm day, and the portions are generous enough to share. The meat is consistently tender and pairs perfectly with the noodles. On top of that, the service is always friendly and attentive. Definitely one of my go-to Korean restaurants whenever I'm craving naengmyeon.

20 min wait for a Thursday holiday weekend for a party of 4 which was a nice surprise. This is not an AYCE kbbq but the price ends up being pretty similar with the quality and quantity of meat they serve. I love how our server cooks the meat too. Very efficiently done. They have the usual side dishes like any other kbbq. Kimchi and rice paper are my usual side items. You can also add cold noodles and tofu soup with the combos. The brisket was my favorite. Ambiance is casual they have booths mainly for 4 people but they do take larger parties too.

Mo Ran Gak is hands down the best Korean BBQ I've ever had. From the moment the banchans started coming out, you could tell the quality was on another level. The meat was incredibly fresh, tender, and flavorful, and every side dish tasted homemade and authentic. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff cooked everything for us and let us know exactly when each cut of meat was ready to eat. It made the whole experience feel effortless and allowed us to just enjoy the meal. Between the amazing meat quality, authentic flavors, and attentive service, this place completely exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to come back.

super solid. I went twice in one week lol the fullerton location in my opinion is better, closer, and has better parking than the one in garden grove. I thought the garden grove one was just okay when I went a couple of years ago but I now appreciate their nangmyeon and can understand the hype. I usually never get the seafood pancake but it's definitely different here, and when you get the nengmyeon, they give you a slightly smaller one for free which makes this place so special. The servers also cook for you, but I think it's better to go during the weekday so they don't have to scramble to serve you. On the weekend, expect around 1-2.5 hour wait!

Such high quality meats! Their beef combo has fair portions for the price! This place has the best cold noodles! I like their spicy noodles the best. The banchan is fresh and refillable! The service is fast and efficient. We were seated immediately and food came out within minutes after ordering. Ambiance is clean inside and has nice lighting. You don't smell like Kbbq after too, which is a nice plus.

    Wagyu brisket - a must!!!

I really like this location! I def prefer it over Garden Grove. We have had a bad experience with the staff at the Garden Grove location but Fullerton's staff was a breath of fresh air. The staff is was soooo nice, attentive, and fast here. The interior at this location is clean and chairs were comfortable. The Wagyu brisket was *chef's kiss*. Beautiful marbling, melt in your mouth. All the banchan is really good. And they serve raw crab banchan on the weekends. Be prepared to wait! Get there early and out yourself on the waitlist. They close at 9pm but they may close the waitlist around 8:30pm.

Server is too quick putting brisket on grill before I can take picture of the meat serving.
    Long T.

Took a friend here on Monday for his birthday lunch. Put my name on waitlist at 10:50AM, way before they opened at 11AM, but already saw 11 parties ahead of us. So I waited. Then I kept seeing Korean folks who came after me and just walked in and got seated, so I went inside to ask the host and he simply just directed me to a table (I was probably still party #8 or 9 on waitlist). Go figure. Anyhow, the service was prompt and courteous and of course food still delicious. But they no longer give discount for paying cash (bummer) and after paying $150 for lunch for 2 (non-marinated beef Combo A), I was still not that stuffed as before. I wonder if the quantity has continuing to decrease while pricing is increased.

This is THE place! A5, Kobe Wagyu! Butter... just like butter. The staff are all wonderful! They remember us and that's always a nice feeling.

Mo Ran Gak is in the highest tier of restaurants for me. The service is always kind, attentive, and top-notch. The restaurant space itself is spacious and always bustling with activity because of how popular it is. If I could pick only one place to get KBBQ, it would be here. Their cold noodles are the best I've had and my wife craves their cold noodles. When I come for KBBQ, I usually get their combo for the size of our party, and it has never disappointed. The amount of meat you get is perfect and your server perfectly cooks it for you. At our most recent visit, my wife and I shared the Naengmyeon + Galbi combo. The banchan offered here is quite literally the best I've ever had. There is so much variety and the quality is amazing. The cold noodles are refreshing, not too heavy, but also have distinct flavor that is not too overwhelming. The gable was perfectly marinated and the meat quality is top tier. I rave about Mo Ran Gak to my friends, and will be a loyal patron here unless something drastic changes.

    Peter T.

The food overall is good here but I wouldn't say it was the best kbbq I've ever had, the sides that were given to us were excellent and all very fresh. Service here was also excellent

    Jennifer W.

Mo Ran Gak's newest location delivers the same great experience with quality meats and a standout bibim naengmyun that's hard to beat. A few things worth noting: - The prime non-marinated KBBQ combo for 2 lets the quality of the meat shine, except we got the marinated short rib and the subtle sweetness really elevated the soft meat. - We added the bibim naengmyun (+$11.95), and they kindly split it into two bowls for us, which was a thoughtful touch. - Their bibim naengmyun includes skate fish, which adds an extra crunchy texture to the otherwise soft bowl of noodles. Hands down, this is my favorite naengmyun. I have yet to find this flavor profile anywhere else! The really kind ajummas diligently cook the meat for you and boy, was it grilled perfectly! The service was attentive and with their concentrated vents, you won't be leaving smelling like smoked meat. Can't wait to come back!

Ask the Community - Mo Ran Gak Restaurant

Can I purr my name on Waiting list?

I'm almost certain you need to add your name in person. Many people wait in their cars if it's a long wait.

I'm visiting from East Coast and short on time. Is there a way to make a reservation or do we just sign in at the location? Is Yelp sign in available?

Don't think you can sign in online. If you can then it'll probably be a long wait on a weekend. Would recommend ~5pm or before

Do you do take out? Thank you.

Yes, we do take out orders!

Are you open on new year day?

Hello Emily, yes, we are open on New Year day. see you soon!

Will mo ran gak be open on Christmas Day?

Hello Edwin, Morangak will be closed on Christmas Day. Thank you.

Are you able to make a reservation?

Hello Denis, I'm sorry but we don't take reservations.

How much is unlimited bbq for 2 people mostly beef brisket, thin slicedpork's belly and seafood with steamed egg? Thank?

I don't think they have unlimited, but the combo set for two people is def enough

Do you have gluten free options?

Yes, we have gluten-free options available. Our fresh meats are gluten-free, and some of our soups and rice dishes can also be made gluten-free. Just let us know when you order and we’ll help you choose the right items. Thank you!

Do they have the bone broth pots at the tables?

    No more bone broth 😢

Came in with my boyfriend tonight for a date night & it was DIRTYYYYY. Initially, the blonde haired host sat us at a dirty table when we first got there. Booth was dirty, table was dirty and had crumbs and sauce all over it and the floor looked really nasty and like it hadn't been mopped in weeks. Not to mention, there was an actual tray blocking the left entrance to the booth & the tray was covered with crumbs of food and the potato salad they save. The plates the host gave us when we sat down were also dirty (at this point we should've just left tbh).... But, I asked her if we can relocate to watch the hockey & soccer games on, in which she did move us closer but grabbed those same nasty plates with leftover food on them from the first table she sat us at and took them to the new table she sat us at. Anddddd, it gets worse that second table was also dirty and had kimchi sauce all over it and other sauces on it. the grill inside looked super unsanitary && like it was stacked with the day's worth of food in it. then, the floor once againnn!!!! I'm sitting there and my shoes are slipping and sliding on something underneath the table. At this point, I'm so grossed out I didn't want to look under the table with my phone flash light and see what it was. The table itself was also sticky on top and underneath and the booth again ‍ I really wanted to leave at this point, but my boyfriend insisted we stay. We had a clear view of the kitchen as well and there were workers touching fresh food plates with the same gloves they're using to bus/clean the tables with. Not to mention the food all over the floor in the kitchen. There were also "wet floor" signs all over the restaurant too- but it wasn't like a fresh mop, it was like the floors had a coat of grease to it. I'm surprised honestly no one slipped. The food was good but I didn't eat much because I was so grossed out at this point. Megan was honestly the only reason why we stayed, she really turned our visit around. Thank you Megan! && I want to state, I've been in the restaurant industry for over 15+ years now, and even when you "don't want to look at these things or notice them when you go to eat".... you just do... and I don't complain about a dining experience everrrrr. -unless there was something truly truly wrong. But I had to, maybe we caught Gen on a bad day, but hope it's not like that on our next visit :(

There is a small lot out front for parking, and I suspect you can park on the street when the lot fills up. We happened to come by during the Korea vs. Mexico game, and understandably, the place gets packed, with a line forming outside. We somehow beat the rush by about 30 minutes and were seated at a table as soon as we entered. We also realized then that they didn't have the all-you-can-eat option, so we ended up ordering the chicken wings, their version of loaded fries, and steamed rice. We also placed the order via the QR code. We had our drinks delivered to our table shortly afterward. The food, however, was taking a long time to get to our table. It may have been a combination of the FIFA World Cup and a staff shortage, but when we were there, there was only 1 kitchen staff member and 1 wait staff member. The lady on the wait staff did everything from serving food to accepting new customers and topping off water for all the tables. A wall separates the restaurant; there is a front room and an inside room, and both rooms had televisions broadcasting the game. The food itself was decent for the price that they charge. The chicken wings came out piping hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy inside. They have some options for different wing flavors. The fries were also delicious and well-fried. I hope the restaurant invests in more wait staff because there were times we needed something from the wait staff. Seeing how busy she was, or sometimes she's just in the front room, we haven't seen her in a while to get whatever we needed. Overall, it was a good experience. The food was good, and the atmosphere is very unique; it's definitely a nice place to get some Korean street food when you're in the area. The only things to note are that parking is limited, food will take a while to cook as it is made fresh, and there will be some waiting to be done if you need wait staff. Last thing to note: I love that they had some Korean Fusion dishes, and I wish I had a bigger stomach to try these as well during our visit, perhaps another time!

    * Who: partner & I * What: random late lunch…read more* When: Saturday a little past noon * Why: hungry after apartment touring * Space/Decor: in a small plaza that had plenty of parking when we arrived. Average space in the sense it's rectangular & like any mom/pop hole in the wall. You step in, tables to your right going all the way back, & left front side has cash register, sweets display, & water dispenser while the rest of the left was the kitchen. Menu was straightforward but could benefit from having a description in case you're not familiar (like my BF). * Service: the reason I'm docking by 1 star. The lady was nice, but not very attentive, & it wasn't like it was busy. We needed to ask or follow up on 2-3 things. My BF was eyeing some dessert when we were first ordering but she didn't try to sell it to us ‍ * Food: surprisingly good as it was both our first time there. He got the adobo bowl & the chicken was tender/juicy & pretty much fell off the bone. I got the tocino plate & the meat was flavorful with just the right amount of garlic in the rice. We also got one chicken skewer & one pork skewer, which was a bit smaller than I'm used to but the smoky flavor & tenderness was spot on. My only issue was the portion compared to the price. * Final Thoughts: mom/pop Filipino food that is great on flavor but leaves something to be desired with customer service. Would recommend & will return again for the food. * Final Grade: B+ or 8.5/10
