We went here for lunch on a Sunday. We went around 11:30am and didn't expect it to be so busy that early but there was already a 30-40 min wait. I didn't know they had a Yelp waitlist or I would've used that. The restaurant is very clean and bright and had great ventilation for all of the grills. Our server was very helpful and friendly and did all the cooking for us. We ordered the combo for 3 people and added the cold spicy bibim naengmyeon noodles. Our server wasn't sure if we would like them as we'd never had them before and told us that it was a bit of an acquired taste. He brought us some mustard and vinegar in squirt bottles to add to it as needed. It was during the October heat wave when it was 105 degrees out so he said they were extra busy because they are known for this cold noodle dish. I can understand why because it was delicious! It was spicy, tangy, slightly sweet and very refreshing on such a hot day. I will go back someday just for that noodle dish! Our meat came with many side dishes- pickled cucumber, kimchi, pasta salad, pickled broccoli, some baby greens, green salad, bean sprouts & japchae plus all the sauces. Our combo also came with a steamed egg and a bowl of tofu soup which I really loved. He asked if we wanted rice so we took him up on that. A bowl of the tofu soup and that rice on a cold day would be amazing! Our server came and expertly grilled everything for us. He also expeditiously replaced any of the rice wrappers or side dishes we wanted more of. We also got a mung bean pancake which was crunchy and yummy and came with a separate dipping. We had very little left to pack up when we were done but we were given containers for whatever we wanted to take home. I hate writing poor reviews but this was one I had to do. I give a two star because we are frequent mo ran gak patrons and have had good experiences every other time and the food is always good. I write this review because of the following. Food and waiter service per usual was amazing. This was especially redeeming after waiting 2 hours, and being put into a booth usually for 4 people with 6 people in our group. The restaurant mentioned this was the case because they were capturing media in the area with bigger tables and to not worry that our faces would not be in any of the inadvertent shots as well. However, where it went south was when we paid for a 6 portions of beef, 4 bottles of soju, 2 beers, and 3 cold noodles and at the 2 hr mark we started getting pressure to leave. They preemptively started cleaning our table while we were sitting at the table with the cleaning product and the manager and one of the lead ladies kept giving us dirty looks. Then when we asked for our cake to close off the night with our check, the manager lady asked "are you seriously planning on eating the cake here?" (In korean). It took us by surprise as our bill was $600.00 and we had done them a favor by sitting in a 4 person booth, AFTER waiting 2 hours ourselves. We said nothing and paid but it truly was something else. Started our Disneyland trip here when we got into town for dinner. We ordered the small wagyu combo that was perfect for 2 of us and a baby. We also ordered galbitang (beef short rib soup) and spicy cold noodles. The presentation and service was top tier. We genuinely didn't wait long to be seated and the all the food came out timely. They cooked each meat for us and allowed us time to eat the meats before started the next cut of wagyu. Meat was melt in your mouth a1 quality!! They also cut up the short rib in the galbitang which I thought was amazing as our baby surely wouldn't hold up a whole short rib to eat haha. Came here for the Korean cold noodles, and they did not disappoint! There was a waitlist, but it went by pretty quickly. I liked the bibim naengmyeon more than the regular naengmyeon. I didn't realize that one order of the noodles also came with a smaller side of cold noodles, so we ended up with 4 bowls of noodles . But overall, this place is really affordable for the noodles. The inside is clean and spacious, with plenty of seating. The servers were attentive and even gave us recommendations on how to mix the noodles. Mo Ran Gak is the restaurant equivalent of a relationship I refuse to quit: the wait tests me, the bill humbles me, and yet I keep crawling back... usually after working a weekend open house (realtor life), hungry enough to make financially questionable decisions. Their naengmyeon (cold noodles) is hands-down one of my favorites. The noodles have exactly the right chew...springy, satisfying, and never doing rubber-band cosplay. They arrive perfectly arranged in a beautifully balanced, icy-cold broth with Asian pear, thinly sliced radish, cucumber, and egg. Now for the most important public-service announcement in this review: eat the cold noodles with the galbi. It's one of those genius combos Korean people discovered works well. Morangak gives you a complimentary sample bowl so you can taste the spicy noodles or vice versa. The Kalbi /Cold Noodle combo is great! But I splurge and order the saeng galbi (the unmarinated short rib) because its just superior quality. Is it pricey? Yes... is it worth it? YES! The portion usually becomes two meals for me, which means this is technically meal prepping and therefore a responsible financial decision. I'm a frequent customer and often grab seng-galbi to-go after my weekend open houses. The lines can be completely unhinged, so visit during off-hours unless "waiting indefinitely while smelling grilled meat" is one of your favorite hobbies. Come for the excellent Korean BBQ. It basically tastes like pure, melt-in-your-mouth fat If that's what you're into, you'll probably love it, but personally I don't think it's worth $100. The marinated meats are okay, but I definitely prefer the non-marinated cuts. The tofu soup is especially delicious. Overall, I really like this location. We were behind an elderly Korean woman who was having difficulty. My son stepped in and helped her. He even changed the language to Korean. It was going to be a 50~60 minute wait. Wait time is HORRIBLE!! Parking is a NIGHTMARE. We went before 5PM and still over an hour wait. Surprised I couldn't try to get on the waitlist before getting there. However, I do love their Pyongyang Mul Naengmyun. Hard to find anywhere else. You can also get a smaller portion of their Pyongyang Mul Naengmyun or Bibim Naengmyun for free (as long as you order a full size). The quality of meat and sides are really good too! Quality meats with excellent service and chefs in a hospitable and beautiful environment. We waited about 1 hour and 10 minutes on a Saturday evening for a table for the four of us. Time went by pretty quickly since we did a little grocery shopping at the Korean supermarket in the same plaza. There are many menu options. We chose the combination C which included beef brisket, beef short rib, pork collar, chicken, thinly sliced short ribs, tofu stew, steamed egg, and a bottle of soju. And a large plate of fresh salad. We were given a complimentary pancake which was nice. The exhaust hood gets pulled down over the meat during grilling and pulled back up in between. All the meats were tender, flavorful, and lean and cooked to perfection. Unlimited refills on side dishes (kimchee, bean sprouts, cut apples with sauce, rice sheets, soy black beans, etc). If you love cold noodles, dare I say this is the BEST place around the area for it? Their broth comes in a slushy so it stays cold for a while. When ordering takeout, they make sure to prepare it in front of you, so it doesnt melt sitting out! They have a great deal to add on ribs on the side or extra noodles/broth! If you want legit Korean food, go where all the older Korean people are eating. It's simple, no-frills Korean food, but honestly some of the best-tasting Korean food in OC. The brisket is always my favorite, and you have to get the seafood pancake to share. It's unbelievably flaky and crispy--I haven't had a Korean seafood pancake quite like it anywhere else. The mool naengmyun is also the best! And I love that with each full order, they give you a complimentary mini one, which is perfect for sharing or getting a little taste if you didn't order your own. I thought the garden grove one was just okay when I went a couple of years ago but I now appreciate their nangmyeon and can understand the hype. Mo Ran Gak does have usually a long wait, but personally, think it's really worth it if you're in the mood for neng myun in particular. I've been here about 4-5 times now and think that the restaurant has been super consistent. First off, note that this restaurant at least on weekends will usually have a wait ranging anywhere between 30 minutes to over an hour. You aren't able to make a reservation online or via phone. Instead, you'll have to sign up for the Yelp Wait List in-person. There's a Paris Baguette and a supermarket nearby (as well as a few other restaurants) to chill for a bit. The waiting area does have a couple small umbrellas but nowhere to really sit. You'll get a text once your table is ready. Parking is also a bit tight since this is a very crowded strip mall with a lot of shops. Once you're in though, they are like a well oiled machine here. Tables are cleaned and set usually once you enter. Ordering can also happen pretty quickly if you know what you want. If it's your first time here, the menu can look a little intimidating. We usually only order one of three items - the mul neng myun (the more soup-y cold noodles); the bi bim neng myun (the spicy cold noodles); or the galbi combo that comes with either of these items. When we order at this location in particular, we usually are able to get a regular sized neng myun and a smaller one with one order, great for those that want to try different ones out. I'm personally a bi bim neng myun fan and think this one is wonderful. It includes some skate fish and is saucy. I don't think it's overly spicy (although your mileage may vary) and is just so flavorful. I usually am not the biggest mul neng myun fan but think the one here is also strong and flavorful. Love the amount and includes the sides of mustard/vinegar as well. The banchan here is also strong. Love that it comes with seafood pajeon (the seafood Korean pancake) and that is easily shareable amongst the group. And the combo galbi as a heads-up is cooked in the kitchen, not at the table. They do have a lot of meat options as well in addition to ordering extra pajeon. We recently also tried the mackerel here too which wasn't bad but definitely not the highlight And they have both hot tea and cold tea available as well. And think the pricing is strong here as well. All-in-all, would highly recommend Mo Ran Gak! Just come early/be prepared for the wait. read more

The staff is was soooo nice, attentive, and fast here. The interior at this location is clean and chairs were comfortable. The Wagyu brisket was *chef's kiss*. Beautiful marbling, melt in your mouth. If you prefer a tangier taste, I highly recommend adding a bit of vinegar and mustard. The absolute best part about Miranda's is their free extra noodles(sari) service. I went in on a Friday night around 7, got seated (surprisingly) in 10min! (Party of 3) I got the 2 person combo with the brisket and the pork belly. This comes with the egg pot and a soup (we got the tofu). The tofu soup was good, spicy and satisfying. The egg pot was saucy and delicious. The brisket! The brisket was SO good, it was more tender than the beef belly at other places. The pork belly was thin cut and they offer to marinate it for you. We got half and half, I preferred the non-marinated, the marinade was a little too sweet for me. The potato pancake side dish was crispy and delicious. Mo Rak Gak is a popular place right in Fullerton. It almost seems like any time of the day, lunch or dinner, there is always a line (so be sure to hop on the waitlist when you arrive). The wait for a party of 3 was about 20ish minutes so not too bad. We were quickly seated and greeted. The staff is very nice and the service is quick! The staff even cook and prepare the meat for you. While ordering, you'll notice that it's either a la carte for each meat dish or a large plate to share. You also have the option of different meat types (brisket, wagyu, etc.) The meat is of higher quality warranting the higher price tag, and the sides are all delicious! Mo Ran Gak's newest location delivers the same great experience with quality meats and a standout bibim naengmyun that's hard to beat. A few things worth noting: - The prime non-marinated KBBQ combo for 2 lets the quality of the meat shine, except we got the marinated short rib and the subtle sweetness really elevated the soft meat. - We added the bibim naengmyun (+$11.95), and they kindly split it into two bowls for us, which was a thoughtful touch. - Their bibim naengmyun includes skate fish, which adds an extra crunchy texture to the otherwise soft bowl of noodles. Hands down, this is my favorite naengmyun. I have yet to find this flavor profile anywhere else! The really kind ajummas diligently cook the meat for you and boy, was it grilled perfectly!
