First time here, and I would definitely come again! My family and I came around noon on a Monday, and it wasn't too crowded. We waited about 30 minutes since we were a party of six. There weren't as many tables inside compared to other KBBQ places, but the vibes and the variety of food they offered definitely made up for it! Our server, I believe it was Stanley, was very helpful and checked on us whenever we needed assistance. We really appreciated the great service! We mainly got the Wagyu beef and were amazed by all the other hot food options they had. They had soups, Wagyu beef rice, corn cheese (they also had durian cheese?), a rice dispenser, sushi, ice cream, and so much more! Everything was on point, and we all left with big bellies XD. I've been to Wagyu Factory three times now, and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots for AYCE wagyu. If you can make it on a weekday, that's definitely the way to go--there's been little to no wait during my weekday visits. Weekends are a different story, and you can probably expect a 30-60 minute wait depending on when you go. Parking is pretty easy, with plenty of spaces available in the nearby parking structures. The meat selection is excellent and really the highlight of the experience. The sushi selection is somewhat limited, but I'm glad they offer made-to-order sashimi, which is a big plus for me. It's nice having something lighter to mix in between all the wagyu. I'd also definitely recommend looking into the annual membership if you plan on coming back. I bought one and, after only three visits, mine has already paid for itself. Overall, I've had a great experience each time and will definitely be back. I've been to several Wagyu Factory/Chubby Cattle locations, so when I saw there was one in Brea, I thought it was new. Turns out this location wasn't new -- they were in the middle of changing their menu, and honestly, you could tell. There seemed to be a lot of confusion between what was advertised and what was actually available. I heard other customers asking about lobster and being told they had changed the menu. Signs and screens were still showing items that weren't available anymore, some food had labels and other things didn't, and I kept looking for things based on the signs only to find out they weren't actually offered. One example was the wagyu rice. I've had it at other locations and there was literally a picture of it on the rice machine, so I asked our server where it was. He told me they'd never had it here and was actually surprised when I said the other locations did. They only had curry when we visited. The rice machine itself was also making a mess, one side of the ice cream machine wasn't working, some of the fountain drinks weren't working properly, and there were several buffet items we waited to try fresh that were never replenished while we were there. The sushi selection didn't impress me either. Most of the rolls looked very similar, and the vegetable selection felt especially limited compared with other locations I've visited. The hot-food section was actually the pleasant surprise. They had things I hadn't seen elsewhere, including Korean-style spaghetti, soups, chicken nuggets, fried rice and a wagyu burger. Some of those ended up being things I liked more than I expected. I would've tried the burger too, but it automatically came with mustard. With all the sauces and condiments already available on the side, I wish that were something you could add yourself instead. Ordering the meat was another confusing experience. We waited around 20 minutes, while a table that sat down around the same time seemed to get theirs much faster. Then suddenly around eight plates showed up at our tiny table at once. Nobody explained what was being dropped off. When we asked which meat was which, even the employees seemed to be guessing and eventually realized part of the order may have been wrong. If you're bringing out that many different cuts, especially simultaneously, someone needs to tell the table what's what. I will give our server credit. He was really nice, kept checking on us and genuinely seemed like he was trying his best. It just felt like he didn't have all the information either. I've had much better experiences at other locations, so based on this visit, I wouldn't make the trip back to Brea. Between finding parking, the smaller selection, unavailable items, confusing signage and overall execution, it wasn't worth it for me. Really disappointed with this restaurant. First, there maybe 4 tables at about 7 pm on a Monday night but the server acted as they were at full capacity. He spoke so fast about how things operate the four of us had to just figure it out. The ordering tablet at the table was barely working and they offer me a rubber glove to order?!? Wagyu Factory is a part of the Chubby Corporation and overall, they do a good job with food quality especially at this price point. I did eat at the Wagyu Factory in Tustin first which is hot pot and the Brea location does grilled meats. Maybe it was the taro ice cream at the Tustin location but the hot pot version of Wagyu Factory seemed to hit the spot more for me? Or, maybe Mamacita in Temple City has spoiled me? First time here and it was a good and positive experience compared to my experience at Chubby Cattle KBBQ (Irvine) the same weekend. There was surprisingly no wait on a Friday night. Our server was quick to explain the process after my group was seated so that we could get started on the self-service station. The server also made no fuss when we had several requests such as replacing utensils that'd fall on the ground. The biggest con I would say this location has would be that there's two columns that are next to the self-serve stations, which causes a narrow walkway for people to walk through. Some of the wagyu meats are also frequently gone because everyone loads up on the meat, but there was someone restocking the trays when we did a wraparound. I wish the grill was bigger, or that we were seated at a larger table since we were constantly out of table space and were sitting for a while waiting for the meats to cook. Another chubby restaurant. Came here with some friends on a Friday night. Waited about 45 minutes for a table. The restaurant took over the old Gyu Kaku spot - tight seating so not the best for larger parties. Pretty much what you expect from one of these BBQ chubby spots. Rather than somebody bringing you meat, you grab it from the long line of self serve stations. They've got raw meat, cooked items, some sweets, soups/stews, and sushi. It was a good selection of stuff and the quality of everything was pretty good. Service was efficient. No complaints overall. Solid first visit to Wagyu Factory! I recently signed up for the Chubby Club+ membership so we've trying to go to a few locations over the last few weeks. This location has limited parking behind the business, but across the street in downtown Brea there's a big parking garage. We came in late evening so the restaurant was only 50% full. The staff seated us fast and our server Tri took great care of us the whole time. He explained every thing here is basically self serve, and the items are mostly similar to Chubby Cattle except you grab what you like. He did explain in the near future it will be like Chubby Cattle style where you can order on the tablet. The location is cool. I liked the aesthetics of the restaurant, a bit of a futuristic vibe. Everything has some some of form of wagyu to the on the curries and soups. They offer sushi pieces and vegetables. As far as the meats, its grab whatever you want as long as it available. Wagyu sliders are also offered here too and that item is SO GOOD! We enjoyed the experience and took our time. We didn't feel rushed or the need to grab as much as you can to get your money's worth. Tri was kind enough to make all his tremendous suggestions on food and even put together a great dipping sauce for us. Overall, I enjoyed Wagyu factory! I wouldn't mind coming back again as it was less hectic and felt more laid back in the later hours compared to how busy chubby cattle can get. We've been to Wagyu Factory in Brea several times now, and it has consistently been a great experience. The food is always delicious, and the employees are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. On our most recent visit, our server, Marcus, recommended trying their special Crazy Sauce, which has a nice spicy kick. We're so glad we took the recommendation because it was fantastic and paired really well with the meats. The restaurant is all-you-can-eat, buffet style. You simply choose the meats, vegetables, seafood, and other items you want from the buffet, then bring them back to your table to cook yourself. It's a fun, interactive dining experience, especially with family or friends. One thing I would skip is the fried food selection. While it's available, I don't think it's nearly as good as the fresh items you cook yourself. They also offer sushi, but I've occasionally noticed that it appears to have been sitting out for a while, so I'm not always confident about its freshness. Be sure to save room for dessert! The cake rolls and egg tarts are consistently delicious and are one of my favorite ways to end the meal. They also have a self-serve soda fountain with unlimited refills, which my kids always enjoy, while I'm perfectly happy sticking with water. Thursday dinner was $50 per person. 90 minute limit. All self served AYCE stations available with meats and seafood, vegetables, sushi and rolls, fried food and soda machine. The restaurant was much smaller than I expected and the layout was a little weird. I didn't like how the doors were open for a while, which is right near the sushi station. Flies were seen landing..which made you second guess what to eat. The meat qualities were extremely low grade. Some meats were completely frozen, all stuck together, making it hard to grab with tongs. The tongs were placed everywhere, not truly designated for each individual item. Basically cross contamination galore, especially for people who are unable to eat certain items. The selections were constantly empty. They couldn't keep it replenished or stocked quickly enough compared to the crowds. I definitely don't think it was worth the price point. The restrooms were extremely dirty, too. There was plenty of parking available in the structure across the street, which was convenient. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was disappointing. We waited nearly an hour to be seated, and once inside, the restaurant felt quite cramped. The table we were given seemed better suited for 2 to 3 people rather than 4. The table was small, and it was positioned too close to the wall that getting in and out of our seats was difficult. Service was also lacking. Our server was not very attentive and we had to flag him down multiple times to have the dishes cleared from our table. The only times he proactively checked on us were when he brought the bill and when we paid. I also did not like being required to download the restaurant's app. On top of that, only about half of the grill surface actually cooked meat properly, which made the dining experience negative. As for the food, the meat quality was decent, but most of the other food items were below expectations. Although,, the Wagyu Burger was surprisingly good. My family and I came here for lunch on the weekend and ended up waiting more than an hour and a half before getting a table. The restaurant is smaller than other Chubby Group locations I've been to, and with so many people waiting, the space felt quite crowded and a little tight. At around $50 per person, I think the price is fair for the quality of the meat. My biggest issue wasn't the cost, but the overall experience. The long wait was already a challenge, and the meat refills were slower than I expected. With only 90 minutes to eat, I never really felt like I had enough time to enjoy the meal. The restaurant does have other options like hamburgers, fried rice, and some dumplings, but I came here mainly for the meat and sushi. The meat was fresh and tasted good, but the sushi didn't really stand out to me. There weren't many choices, and I felt the quality was just average. It was a very busy day, so maybe the staff were just overwhelmed. One small thing that stood out was that after we were seated, no one brought us cups for our drinks, and we had to find someone ourselves. Staff also stopped by asking if everything was okay, but they often walked away before we even had a chance to respond. It wasn't a huge issue by itself, but together with the long wait and slow refills, it made the whole experience feel less enjoyable than what I've had at other restaurants in the same group. I've tried majority of the Chubby Group restaurants and had tried the Wagyu Factory in Tustin for the hot pot, so I was really curious how the bbq version would be. I love Chubby Cattle but the price point is a bit steep so hearing that this was a more affordable option, I was ready to try it! What's great about this location is that everything is self serve. No waiting on your servers or flagging them down to bring your meats, it's all at the self serve stations! They have a variety of hot foods, fried foods, sushi, desserts, soft drinks and of course the meat station. The meat were lower quality than Chubby, but I already expected that, so it wasn't a surprise to me. We went on a Saturday night around 5pm and only had to wait for about 10 minutes. It was a good time because everything at the self serve stations were pretty well replenished at all times. We loved the vegetables, especially the zucchini and the mushrooms. Not sure how it's marinated but it tastes so delicious on the grill. Be careful to not burn them though! My friends loved the wagyu burger and I thought it was decent, a little dry for me though. I liked the lobster roll though, good amounts of lobster! Tri was our server, and he was absolutely fantastic! Not only did he give us the pro tip of using wasabi on the wagyu with the salt (try it, it's sooo good!!) but he was very efficient in cleaning up the empty plates and changing our grill! The only con was really the sushi bar which I was really looking forward to. The rice on the salmon nigiri was unfortunately not cooked all the way. Had an awesome experience at Wagyu Factory today during late lunch. The wait was super reasonable, about 15 minutes as a walk up, and I liked how easy it was to check in on Yelp ahead of time. The food selection is really solid across the board. From veggies and meats to snacks and soups and stews, everything was fresh and hit the spot. If you're looking for something similar to Chubby Cattle but without the chaos and at a great price for Wagyu, this is definitely the move. I also want to give a huge shoutout to our server Tri. Even though it's a self serve style restaurant, he stayed on top of everything, constantly changing out our grill and making sure we were good the entire time. He even made a custom spicy sauce for me that took everything to the next level. It's his own secret recipe, so I guess we've got a great reason to come back. Had dinner with my girlfriend at the newly opened wagyu factory in downtown brea. Wagyu factory is part of the chubby group of restaurants which have various menu options at different locations. Walk in only for the time being. The wait was expected to be 44 to 59 minutes when we arrived just before 6 on a Friday evening. We were seated in under half an hour. Elvis was our server, he was terrific, guiding us through the experience and even cooked the first round for us. Elvis was attentive without being intrusive. He took excellent care of us throughout dinner. Encouraged my girlfriend to download the chubby app to start earning points on tonight's dinner. My bf and I saw the sign that they were going to open something that looked like kbbq and have been anxiously waiting for it to open since we miss Gyu kaku being here. They have a very modern and unique ambiance which is family friendly but also like a bar vibe. It is loud and it can be crowded as most kbbqs. For the food, let me start by saying that it is not the best meat quality, for sure not Wagyu. Some meats were gamey specially the Australian lean meat there meats were on the tougher side. We definitely didn't like the soup dumplings. I only ate one. They were just not what i expected and the flavour not my type. On the flip side, the hot bar was really good! Takoyaki, lobster dumpling, fried rice, the sushi was good with seared salmon, and the veggie shumai were some of our favorites. For the meats they did have some that were ok, but wouldn't come back just for the meats. I think this is a fun place that has a wide variety of food options. Came to Wagyu Factory to try the Chubby Groups more affordable restaurant. For lunch it is $40 but $35 if you are a member. Everything here is self service so once you sit down you can go check out their hot bar, meats, sushi, dessert and drink selections. They had about 10 options for the hot bar, 20 yakiniku options and 10 options for their sushi. I mainly tried their different cuts of beef. I did prefer their thinner cuts such as the beef tongue and short ribs. They were tender if you don't grill them for too long. The thicker and bigger pieces of meat were on the chewier side. But this isn't Chubby Cattle and you get what you paid for. It is still good but I also can't compare it to their big brother. The sushi here was good. They were constantly making new rolls and nigiri because people kept on getting plates of sushi. The salmon was fresh and buttery. The tofu pocket sushi had lots of tuna on top and was my favorite out of everything. The wagyu burger was another on my favorite. The patty was juicy and the spread inside was oozing out. They had the same burger at Wagyu Master that I enjoyed last time as well. Our server came around every so often to change the wired grill and pull the plates. They have a 100 minute dining experience so it was just the right amount of time. This is kinda like Chubby Cattle, self-serve style with about half the menu. It's a little cheaper than CC. M-F, it's 49.99 for dinner and $6 cheaper for Chubby Plus members. The nice thing is, you don't have to waste time scrolling through a menu screen and waiting for the food but you do have to get it yourself. It is still a time 90 minute limit. While it doesn't give the same amount of meat/protein options as CC, it has enough. It has some additional things like Wagyu stew, Wagyu tomato, udon noodles and a fried/snack bar along with lobster and shrimp dumplings. The side food items are okay, nothing great. They also have about a dozen sushi and roll options and lobster rolls and Wagyu sliders. Personally I'd stick to the meats. They have plenty of protein options including meats, chicken wings, squid, and shrimp. They also have a vegetable bar with mushrooms, zucchini, kim chi, seaweed, etc. Drinks are included but they only have soda fountains drinks, cold and hot water and they don't have an extensive dessert selection. They only have egg custard (don tot) and vanilla/chocolate cake rolls. If you have a smaller table of 2 or 3, you might share a larger table with another party. You'll have your own grill though. Servers were friendly and on a side note if you want to tip extra, give it to the busboys. TBH, I think they do the lion share of the work. read more

I am happy that there is a chubby cattle co establishment near me now! If I had to describe it, Wagyu factory is kind of the faster, more casual and less fancy version of chubby cattle restaurants. The wait wasn't too bad at 5:30 on a weekend (less than an hour) for our group of 5. We were immediately greeted by a friendly server. I forgot his name but he was very cheerful and explained the process well. Throughout our meal he was very attentive and was proactive about picking up the plates. I like that the place is no fuss and you basically grab whatever meats you'd like and as much as you like without waiting for it to arrive. I kind of prefer this option because you get to eat right away instead of waiting for them to bring the meats to you. It was protein heaven! I truly enjoyed celebrating my early birthday dinner with my boyfriend at the Wagyu Factory! It was a fun dining experience - all thanks to our server, Tri. The cuts of wagyu were so rich and tender, we loved dipping it in the fresh wasabi (new food hack unlocked!) At the Wagyu Factory, it's mainly self-serve. You can grab all the meat you like from one side of the restaurant. I enjoyed the variety of appetizers and side dishes that were available, I especially loved the sushi! I always love ending my meal with some soft serve ice cream, we were able to make ourselves some floats from their soda machine. The egg tarts were also super crispy and buttery!
