We got a good corner away from the busy crowd that was nice Sushi was great Meat was good Shabu was nice There was a small wait but we took our steps around the plaza Honestly I got lost hahahahh ... forgot how to get back to my table and exit the place It truly felt like a market how quiet busy it was ... not too crowded but people moving The energy was fun

Yesterday was my husband's birthday, and we drove nearly 40 minutes to Chubby Cattle in Rowland Heights. We arrived at 9:09 PM, but unfortunately we were turned away by a female host. I completely understand that restaurants have closing policies, but what disappointed me was her attitude and the way we were treated. As someone who has been a loyal Chubby customer for the past two years, it honestly made me feel a little sad. Thankfully, my husband found Chubby Mart nearby. The host explained that the kitchen would be closing soon and suggested we come back another day for the best experience. I thought our birthday dinner was over, but after I explained to the manager that it was my husband's birthday and we were happy with a simple last minute dinner, he immediately welcomed us in and assured us we would still be able to enjoy fresh food. That manager truly understands what great hospitality means. Before we even started eating, he had already won us over with his kindness and professionalism. To me, great customer service is just as important as great food. The staff were friendly, attentive, and hardworking. Even though we arrived late, there was still a great selection of fresh seafood, delicious hot pot ingredients, and a well-stocked drink station. Everything was clean, organized, and well maintained. The Sichuan broth was especially delicious. Overall, Chubby Mart completely turned our night around. My family had a wonderful experience, and I'm truly grateful to the manager and the entire team for making my husband's birthday feel special. We'll definitely be back, and next time, we'll make sure to come earlier!

I saw several friends dine here and decided to give it a try. We were quoted a two hour wait but were pleasantly surprised to be seated in just 40 minutes. Our server, June, provided friendly and attentive service for our table. The meat was fresh, the crab was delicious and not overly salty, especially when dipped into the hot pot. For $49.99 for a member per person, I thought the value was excellent. Great food, reasonable prices, and a wonderful experience overall!

A lot of variety to choose from! There is hot pot & bbq that you can cook at your table and many items that are ready to eat. There is a 90 minute time limit. If you are a qualified Chubby plus member or NFT holder, you can make reservations, which lessons the wait time for busy days. I'm a Silver member so it was easy to make Fathers Day reservations and we were seated within 15 minutes of checking in at opening. You can choose 2 broth choices for hot pot, and they're free upgrades if you're members, otherwise for example, Lobster broth is $5 extra. The skewer station gets busy and can run out until they make more. Since it's made right there, there may be a short wait for refills during busy times. However, don't go just to eat a bunch of skewers, especially when you can just go to Chubby Skewers! There's fresh crab, mussels and clam, which are a good size. You can get your usual hot pot items (veggies, noodles etc.). They have sushi rolls and sashimi. They had a sushi taco which had a fried seaweed shell and my son had the eel one and he said he'd eat it again. They also had a chopped fish version (tuna?) as well. It looks big but it was overpowering with rice, which is good so you won't feel like its filling you up. The fried area with taro ball, sesame balls, wagyu pancake etc was also good. The burger was probably one of the better burgers from a Chubby restaurant. Very kid friendly area of food. We enjoyed the short plate and Australian wagyu steak for the grill. Love that they provide seasonings to go with it on the tray. The hot pot meat was also good. The Peking Duck station got set up at 12:30pm and the line started forming. Given the time limit to eat, it was a time killer waiting in the line for 2 small wraps on the plate eaten in 2 bites. Once the 2 ducks were used, then there was no duck for a while. I think that station needs more support, especially busy days. We loved the variety of drinks in the fridge!! All sorts of teas, soy milk, plum juice, chrysanthemum tea etc. For our family of 4, it ended up being a little bit of hot pot and and a little grilling with eating the stuff at the stations. We probably prefer going to a more specialized place (hot pot or bbq) as it was hard to enjoy it all (but we were stuffed!!) But a good first try to check it out.

I don't really eat hot pot - a few times at people's houses, and 3 times at restaurants in all my life (does Shabu Shabu count as hot pot?) - this being my 4th time, but was eating out with a girl friend and we decided to try this place. This place is soo cool! The ambiance is so futuristic and has a layout like a supermarket (thus the name) where go push a cart around and pick what you want to cook up at your table. It's a la carte, so you just pay for what you pick out. Our server was very nice and explained how the whole concept works. The different plate sizes/shapes indicate different prices. Our server came by often to take away plates, refill broth, and our waters. The only thing is that everything adds up REALLY quick. As I said before, I don't normally eat hot pot, so getting a membership was not worth it for me. Yeah I get that you can get a lobster or something for your birthday with the membership, but I don't eat lobster or crab or any of the good stuff so it's not worth it for me. And because we didn't get the membership, we had to pay regular price for the sauces, the broth, and all the items we picked up. For the two of us eating 2 plates of chicken, 1 plate of pork, tofu, fishballs, and some veggies it came out to over $100 (which my friend told me is not normally how much hot pot costs her). Yikes! Probably worth it if you are a hard core hot pot aficionado, have a membership and eat at the chubby restaurants a lot. I am glad I got to experience this place, but it's a one and done thing for me.

This place was super hyped on TikTok and there was a buzz around this concept of a market to table experience. Food: 3/5 Unfortunately, the food was quite a letdown. There is a huge variety that includes kbbq, hotpot, sushi, skewers, and dim sum. However, they are definitely the "Jack of all trades, master of none." None of the food was truly bad but none of it was really good either. This place is essentially a glorified buffet. The Korean bbq meats on the fattier sided and there was no premium items like beef tongue or pork jowl. The hotpot had the best selections of meat, but they lacked a lot of essentials like popping fish balls, spam, and chrysanthemum (tong ho). The skewers were good, but they cook those super slow and the like to get them took forever. They should regulate the lines by allowing only two per person because people were grabbing like 10 which made the wait impossible. Lastly, the sushi and dessert bar were pretty good. Service: 4/5 We got reservations, so we did not have to wait too long to get in. We got seated right away and we have 70 minutes to order, and 90 minutes to finish our food. It was plenty of time. The server was nice and explained to us the different broths for the hotpot. The only bad part of the service was, again, the wait it took to get certain food items. Price: 4/5 We got the members pricing and added hotpot to our meal. The total came out to $65 per person after tip and tax. It was worth it for the experience, but not for the food. If I were to spend that amount, I would go to a specialized location that does premium sushi or premium kbbq instead of here. Ambiance: 5/5 This place has a cool concept. It is just a little portly executed. It feels like a buffet right now. Since the food station is all in one big block, it feels a little crowded as well. However, the set up, the atmosphere, and the theme behind is very unique. I would probably not come back here unless it is with friends who want to experience this. Otherwise, the food is not worth the price.

Brought my friends here to eat after they changed their à la carte menu to ayce. I've only been here once before the menu change. I regret bringing my friends here, because by the time we were seated, it was about 9pm and we felt so rushed to eat, it was so unpleasant. For a party of 12; 7 adults and 5 kids, it's not easy to have to go grab your food, cook it, make sure the kids eat and then you eat. 90 minutes is simply not enough time for a large party to eat and enjoy the meal. This should be adjusted. As I stated before, it was about 9pm when we started eating, by then, a lot of the food like the beef tongue and other meats were gone and some foods were only a few left, and never restocked again. When we asked the server to see if he can bring out more tangerines for the kids and he just flat out refused. If they're gonna clean up and take out the food before they close, they should not be accept customers at a later time. It's not fair to pay the same premium and not have all the food available. On top of that, I feel that the meat quality went downhill and the cooked food taste like regular buffet food. And the soup base was salty. My friends and I were so disappointed. In addition, since we're a large group, gratuity is added automatically, but the math is not adding up right. We realized that the tip is calculated on the original price, not the member price. That's so SHADY. What's the point of having the membership if the tip is still calculated like that? And for non-members, they charge for soup base! For what? Isn't it already ayce place? It's so misleading for what they advertise. And for the kids price, it's half off of the original price, not my member price. So $30 for a 4-5 year old kid is ridiculous. Kids can't even eat much. Charging that much for gratuity and couldn't even come clear our dirty plates. Getting charged for a mid service. For a company of this caliber to provide this type of service... really turns away customers. I will not return again.

OMG this place has it all! There is all you can eat fresh seafood, hot pot, skewers, dumplings, and sushi. There is an amazing drink cart with lots of selection. Our favorites was the beef tongue, pork rice, and crab. You have a 90 minute time limit. We loved it here. They have cheesecake, egg tarts, fruit, and crepe cakes for dessert. We are happy and full and can't wait to return. Happy Yelping!

The service here was excellent. All the staff were friendly and our server was very attentive. I feel most of the items were for hotpot. We chose not to add hotpot ($5 extra per person) because it was such a hot day. They had a good but smaller selection for bbq. The best part was the sushi and drink selection. We give this place a 8/10!

I've been to quite a few Chubby Group establishments, and unfortunately this was probably my least favorite experience so far. The biggest issue was that it felt like you really had to work to get your food. A lot of the stations were constantly running out of items, so you had to stand around and hope you caught them during a refill. The skewer section was frequently empty, and the drink fridge was often half empty as well. To make matters worse, many of the drinks weren't even cold. The Peking duck station was another challenge. The speed of the employee carving the duck was honestly comical. The line barely moved, and by the time you got your portion, you definitely weren't eager to get back in line for seconds. What made this even more frustrating was that guests are limited to 70 minutes to collect food. That may sound like plenty of time, but it goes by surprisingly quickly when you're constantly waiting for stations to be restocked. A good portion of our meal was spent circling the buffet and hoping items would reappear rather than actually enjoying the food. The meat quality was also disappointing. Some of the cuts labeled as Wagyu were mostly fat with very little actual meat. The dessert selection didn't do much to make up for it either, as most of the options looked pretty unappealing. Even the seating could use some attention. We were seated at a booth with a bench that was extremely wobbly. Every time someone got up, the entire bench would tilt, which made for an uncomfortable dining experience. The one bright spot was our server, Nathan. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to be doing his best to provide a good experience despite the issues around him. Overall, I left feeling frustrated more than satisfied. Between the constant waiting, inconsistent food availability, disappointing meat quality, and the feeling that you had to hunt down your food, this wasn't the experience I've come to expect.

I really love the Chubby franchise and was excited to experience this ''Mart" concept, but the quality of food here missed the mark. There's an array of different items to choose from between the produce, meat, dessert, drink section which can be overwhelming at some time. The food wasn't very fresh and the hotpot grill combo didn't work well with the large group i had. I think next time, I would just pick the bbq option because the little moat of a soup bowl was difficult to cook in. It was extremely crowded when i went for an early dinner and the buffet had lines at times, but service was pretty good. If I were to go back, I'd just do bbq.

    Sara H.

The parking lot was crowded, but I didn't have a difficult time finding a spot. The biggest downside was waiting for almost 3 hours before getting seated. Be prepared if you're visiting during peak times. The selection of food was impressive. They offer a huge variety, including sushi, sashimi, hot pot, BBQ skewers, dim sum, desserts, and drinks. There was something for everyone, which made the experience feel worth the wait. That said, the dim sum was disappointing. I also wish they offered some non-marinated BBQ meat options. Another thing to note is that hot pot costs an extra $5/person if you're not a member. Despite those drawbacks, the variety and overall experience was enjoyable. I would come back.

I am trying to make an online reservation for only 2 people, but the reservation system how a minimum limit of 4 (2 is not in the dropdown--anything less than 4 is not in the drop down). How do I make a reservation for 2 online?

You cannot. For 2 people it is first come first serve

    Minimum 4 people?

There is no minimum requirement by the restaurant but in order to eat a variety of food, more people to share the food is recommended. I had 3 people in my party but still felt we got too much food.

Mon lunch does the cook grill the skewer for you? Or is that only during dinner? For the 2.0

Yes Monday lunch they have the grilled skewers already cooked from the kitchen. For 2.0

Is it all you can eat?

Yes, its now AYCE. They have take out priced per pound.

I'm confused, so you pay for AYCE and pay extra for certain kind of food?

They have standard AYCE, you can pay more to upgrade to premium options (one time specialty dish and unlimited A5 wagyu or unlimited live seafood, etc.)

    How much for AYCE option?

Prices as of June 2, 2026: Mon-Thurs lunch is $35.99 for members / $39.99 for non-members… Read more

    Is there a time limit?

Now there is a time limit since it's ayce

    How do we make reservations?

You have to be at least Silver tier on the Chubby group app or be a NFT holder to make reservations at any Chubby Group location.

    How much per head?

It's not charged per head it's per plate. The prices are shown as you pick up the plates and charged at the end. Each item has its own price either self service or ordered from the at table menu.

Hi can we reserved a table before we get there?

Only if you are silver tier or NFT holder on the Chubby Group App

The exterior and interior decor of this place is on point with the bold red and lanterns. It really sets the mood. Service was exceptional during lunch (wasn't too busy). The staff helped change out dirty plates often. Everything was clean. They were helpful in explaining the AYCE menu. The only problem I experienced is how slow the virtual menu was to load and long buffers between each click. At one point it stopped working to reorder so the waitress had to do it manually anyway. We got the half tomato (light spice) and half spicy soup (mild) base and both were really good! I might upgrade to med next time. The meat quality was great, esp the 1 wagyu plate per person that comes with AYCE. Surprisingly the fatty beef was so tender as well. Even the mala beef didn't hurt going in...or out. The bellflower veggie is a must try. Never had this crunchy vegetable before. Love the self serve bar with so many desserts and Chinese chips options.

There were some snacks near the sauce bar such as freshly fried mantou and shrimp chips as well as bing fen and fresh fruit for a refreshing end of the meal treat. Everything was super fresh. The meatballs and beef belly were especially good and the spicy broth had the perfect amount of spice and flavor to it. I definitely would come here again to eat! One of the items that you can order has a peanut topping on it and the host was considerate to notify us about it. Upon hearing that one of our party members was allergic to peanuts, they came back with some freshly made without the peanut on it. Such wonderful service.

The restaurant advertises All You Can Eat (AYCE), but in reality the selections are quite limited…read more Only vegetables, meat skewers, and soybean-based items (cold tofu, tofu skin, etc) are truly unlimited, and these are self-serve from their fridge at any time. However, SLICED proteins such as sliced ribeye beef, sliced prime USDA beef, and sliced pork are restricted to 3 dishes per order, must be order by request, and are prepared in the kitchen. Portions are small and not sufficient for two or more people. When we tried to order a second round, only two dishes arrived out of the 3. On the third attempt, nothing arrived at all. On top of that, the wait time for sliced proteins was extremely long. While the menu is promoted as AYCE, the service appears to intentionally slow down and limit access to the main protein items, which is misleading and disappointing.

Would recommend the AYCE menu instead, a lot more worth then ordering by the item. The meat here is…read moreactually really delicious and the portions are big. The vegetables come pre packaged and served to you all at once at first and just like most of the other items you can order more if needed. The variety of side/apps are pretty wide from the regular hotpot sides, fries, to seafood boil. Never seen that before. The service was amazing and we were treated really well, we came for my gf's bday on 3/10 and the Filipino lady who was working the floor by herself made our experience a great one.

This place has so much potential. I see the vision but it's just not being executed correctly…read more Starting with the good: I think this is the only shabu place ive been to that has seafood boil, unique combination and im all for it. Its included in the "ayce" (one order), and it was good The meats are decent quality, they have a lot of soup base to choose from as well as appetizers. Now, the bad: i went on a Saturday night which is prime time, they only had one server working which meant slow service. Not the server's fault because she was nice and doing her best but come on, hiring an extra body isnt going to break the bank. She was running all over the place. They advertise this as ayce but its really not. You can only order 3 rounds of meat. This is a classic bait and switch tactic. Its 2026, get rid of this and be honest with your customers and in the long run itll benefit you

This place has seriously gone downhill over the years. I used to enjoy coming here for hot pot, but…read moreafter my recent visit, I can confidently say I won't be coming back. They've been cutting corners more and more -- things they used to offer are gone now, and even the atmosphere feels dead. No music, no energy, nothing that makes you want to stay. The food quality has dropped the most. I ordered the pickled cabbage hot pot, and it tasted like plain cabbage boiled in broth -- there was zero sour flavor. It was honestly shocking how off it was. Meat quality below the average and nothing left to order in a hotpot restaurant that tasted good. Service was just as bad. There were barely any staff around, and no one checked on us. When I asked for utensils, the server told me to go grab them myself from the sauce station. That's not service. Overall, this place is just not worth it anymore -- bad food, poor service, and a disappointing experience. It used to be good, but now it's a complete letdown.

I have been here a few times for dinner with each time a different group of friends. The meat is sliced and put around the hot pot. It is unique and I think the pot looks super cool. They have beef, lamb, and different types of seafood to pick from. Service is fast and overall I do enjoy having dinners here.
