Extremely expensive for what you're getting. First off, team members are rude and probably should not be working in the food service industry. I arrived around 5:45pm and I had reservations at 6:00pm. My party of 8 were on their way. The team members first tell me to let them know when we all arrive and then minutes later tell me that they cannot accommodate me cuz there are no tables available. What?? What was my reservation for then?!? I made reservations months ago! Again, they asked if everyone had arrived yet. As I'm responding, the team Member is walking away and not listening to me. WTF?? Then they said that they can give me a private room (which really wasn't private at all since other patrons kept walking thru as a shortcut to get where they need to go). I was told that I had to agree to pay 20% gratuity. I refused. So, they said I can have the room for 18% gratuity for the size of my party. Fine. It was extremely hot in there. We were all sweating bullets and it was difficult to enjoy our meal. Drinks were at best cool but not cold. No ice either. We got the lobster broth which was very rich and while it complimented any shellfish you added to it, it wasn't good for drinking as it tasted too fishy and overpowering. Meats and cooked foods were okay. I've had better selection and quality elsewhere. I was disappointed that there were no "shopping carts" like I've seen in reviews. Technically, this isn't a "mart" or market then since we're NOT "shopping" for our food as their gimmick claimed. They had us sign up for the Yelp waitlist on their screen. Love the bone broth soup! The lobster soup is good too. Additional $5 per person to add hot pot to your meal. Additional $20 to add the lobster. Membership is $58/year and you get $10 discount as a member per person. 90 minutes to eat which is a bit rushed. They have a couple skewer options (beef, chicken, tilapia, lamp, pork belly), pretty good but I would not say the best. Tried beef tongue for the first time and it's soooo tender! Had it grilled. They have a good variety of sushi and sashimi too. Unfortunately, the Texan wagyu brisket was cold. It was just ok. The wagyu cheeseburger was a bit tough, both the bread and the meat - don't recommend. Lots of veggie and mushroom options for hotpot. All very fresh. There is also a very small dim sum section. The shumai just has sticky rice, but it was very flavorful! They have so many kinds of drinks!!! Love the brown sugar jujube soymilk, Chi Forest sparking sunny mango (they have peach and lychee flavors too), and Mr. Brown ice coffee was good. The lychee oolong milk tea was meh. This is one of my favorite lunch spots, weekday lunch for $39.99 and $5 add on for hotpot? Can't beat it. The best part? Unlimited fresh seafood that's included: Manila clams, mussels, rock crab - and that's just the tip of the iceberg. My favorite broths are the spicy rice vinegar (can't remember the exact name) and a toss up between the bone broth and the lobster broth. The rice vinegar has just the right amount of spice for a spice wimp like me, and then perfect amount of sourness. This is my favorite to cook the seafood (like clams) in. They have a plethora of hotpot items to get, my faves: bean curd skin, quail eggs, king oyster mushrooms, enoki, in-house made shrimp balls (they are so bouncy and delicious!), fried bean curd skin, taro, pumpkin/squash. For the meats you can either choose to grill on the top or get some unmarinated ones to cook in your broth. My favorite is to cook the meats on the grill and all my veggies in the broth. I had never had Chinese bbq before going to Chubby Mart, so the pre seasoned meats were a pleasant surprise (they are seasoned in a flavor I had never had before at kbbq or anywhere else). I have been here a handful of times and there are so many foods, it just doesn't get old. My other favorites: fried noodles, asparagus, Portuguese egg tarts, and the golden black custard buns - yum! Wow, what an experience. This places combines the best of Chinese hot pot and BBQ and takes it to a whole new level. There's so much selection to choose from you'll run out of stomach space before you know it! We opted for the deluxe seafood tier, and the lobster and Dungeness crab were absolutely phenomenal. We tried the lobster raw in the hot pot, steamed, and grilled! An amazing assortment of dim sum, appetizers, fried dishes, skewers, fresh seafood and meats, and a mouthwatering fruit platter with Korean melon, durian, and dragon fruit. It felt like a Vegas buffet. Giving it 4 stars because they are super strict with the time limit. You're limited to 1.5 hr to look around and grab food to eat. However, when we checked the bill, we noticed that the 20% was calculated based on the original prices rather than the actual prices we paid. We had five adults who each received a $10 discount through the membership benefits. We understand that a restaurant may choose to calculate the service charge based on the pre-discount price for those meals. However, we also had five children who were charged the kids' price. The kids' meals were listed at $59.99 and then discounted by $30, and the 20% service charge was calculated on the original $59.99 instead of the actual kids' price. That doesn't seem reasonable to us. Kids' pricing is already a separate, reduced price, so the service charge should be based on the kids' price rather than an inflated pre-discount amount. We were also disappointed with the service. Since we had a large party, dirty dishes naturally piled up quickly. The server only came by a few times during our entire meal to clear dishes. When she did come, she mainly cleared the areas near the door and did not walk farther down the table to collect the dishes on the other side. A couple of times, we had to move the dirty dishes to the table behind us ourselves. We understand that this is a buffet restaurant and that customers serve themselves when it comes to food and drinks. Because of that, clearing dirty dishes is essentially the main service we rely on. A lot of variety to choose from! There is hot pot & bbq that you can cook at your table and many items that are ready to eat. There is a 90 minute time limit. If you are a qualified Chubby plus member or NFT holder, you can make reservations, which lessons the wait time for busy days. I'm a Silver member so it was easy to make Fathers Day reservations and we were seated within 15 minutes of checking in at opening. You can choose 2 broth choices for hot pot, and they're free upgrades if you're members, otherwise for example, Lobster broth is $5 extra. The skewer station gets busy and can run out until they make more. Since it's made right there, there may be a short wait for refills during busy times. However, don't go just to eat a bunch of skewers, especially when you can just go to Chubby Skewers! There's fresh crab, mussels and clam, which are a good size. You can get your usual hot pot items (veggies, noodles etc.). They have sushi rolls and sashimi. They had a sushi taco which had a fried seaweed shell and my son had the eel one and he said he'd eat it again. They also had a chopped fish version (tuna?) as well. It looks big but it was overpowering with rice, which is good so you won't feel like its filling you up. The fried area with taro ball, sesame balls, wagyu pancake etc was also good. The burger was probably one of the better burgers from a Chubby restaurant. Very kid friendly area of food. We enjoyed the short plate and Australian wagyu steak for the grill. Love that they provide seasonings to go with it on the tray. The hot pot meat was also good. The Peking Duck station got set up at 12:30pm and the line started forming. Given the time limit to eat, it was a time killer waiting in the line for 2 small wraps on the plate eaten in 2 bites. Once the 2 ducks were used, then there was no duck for a while. I think that station needs more support, especially busy days. We loved the variety of drinks in the fridge!! All sorts of teas, soy milk, plum juice, chrysanthemum tea etc. For our family of 4, it ended up being a little bit of hot pot and and a little grilling with eating the stuff at the stations. I don't really eat hot pot - a few times at people's houses, and 3 times at restaurants in all my life (does Shabu Shabu count as hot pot?) - this being my 4th time, but was eating out with a girl friend and we decided to try this place. This place is soo cool! The ambiance is so futuristic and has a layout like a supermarket (thus the name) where go push a cart around and pick what you want to cook up at your table. It's a la carte, so you just pay for what you pick out. Our server was very nice and explained how the whole concept works. The different plate sizes/shapes indicate different prices. Our server came by often to take away plates, refill broth, and our waters. The only thing is that everything adds up REALLY quick. As I said before, I don't normally eat hot pot, so getting a membership was not worth it for me. Yeah I get that you can get a lobster or something for your birthday with the membership, but I don't eat lobster or crab or any of the good stuff so it's not worth it for me. And because we didn't get the membership, we had to pay regular price for the sauces, the broth, and all the items we picked up. For the two of us eating 2 plates of chicken, 1 plate of pork, tofu, fishballs, and some veggies it came out to over $100 (which my friend told me is not normally how much hot pot costs her). Yikes! The restaurant itself prides itself in having people pick up their food from designated areas like it is an Asian food market. The price tag is hefty for what you get. If you're paying over $100+ per person for food, you'd expect quality. Instead you're just paying for the experience and decor aesthetic. BBQ items were heavily salted. Milk teas were overly sweet. It was nice to have many drink options but most were just canned American beverages or Vitasoy milks z Sauce bar was huge and extensive which was pretty cool. Lots of variety to mix something together. Hot pot items had less ingredient variety than other average hot pot places. There were only one or two options per a single category of ingredients. Seafood on ice was an interesting concept, but ran out quickly in comparison to other foods. Sushi and sashimi was alright. Dessert was mostly cake slices and cream puffs. None of the food was truly bad but none of it was really good either. This place is essentially a glorified buffet. The Korean bbq meats on the fattier sided and there was no premium items like beef tongue or pork jowl. The hotpot had the best selections of meat, but they lacked a lot of essentials like popping fish balls, spam, and chrysanthemum (tong ho). The skewers were good, but they cook those super slow and the like to get them took forever. They should regulate the lines by allowing only two per person because people were grabbing like 10 which made the wait impossible. Lastly, the sushi and dessert bar were pretty good. Service: 4/5 We got reservations, so we did not have to wait too long to get in. We got seated right away and we have 70 minutes to order, and 90 minutes to finish our food. It was plenty of time. Brought my friends here to eat after they changed their à la carte menu to ayce. I've only been here once before the menu change. I regret bringing my friends here, because by the time we were seated, it was about 9pm and we felt so rushed to eat, it was so unpleasant. For a party of 12; 7 adults and 5 kids, it's not easy to have to go grab your food, cook it, make sure the kids eat and then you eat. 90 minutes is simply not enough time for a large party to eat and enjoy the meal. This should be adjusted. As I stated before, it was about 9pm when we started eating, by then, a lot of the food like the beef tongue and other meats were gone and some foods were only a few left, and never restocked again. When we asked the server to see if he can bring out more tangerines for the kids and he just flat out refused. If they're gonna clean up and take out the food before they close, they should not be accept customers at a later time. It's not fair to pay the same premium and not have all the food available. On top of that, I feel that the meat quality went downhill and the cooked food taste like regular buffet food. And the soup base was salty. My friends and I were so disappointed. In addition, since we're a large group, gratuity is added automatically, but the math is not adding up right. We realized that the tip is calculated on the original price, not the member price. That's so SHADY. What's the point of having the membership if the tip is still calculated like that? And for non-members, they charge for soup base! For what? Isn't it already ayce place? It's so misleading for what they advertise. And for the kids price, it's half off of the original price, not my member price. So $30 for a 4-5 year old kid is ridiculous. Kids can't even eat much. I've been to quite a few Chubby Group establishments, and unfortunately this was probably my least favorite experience so far. The biggest issue was that it felt like you really had to work to get your food. A lot of the stations were constantly running out of items, so you had to stand around and hope you caught them during a refill. The skewer section was frequently empty, and the drink fridge was often half empty as well. To make matters worse, many of the drinks weren't even cold. The Peking duck station was another challenge. The speed of the employee carving the duck was honestly comical. The line barely moved, and by the time you got your portion, you definitely weren't eager to get back in line for seconds. What made this even more frustrating was that guests are limited to 70 minutes to collect food. That may sound like plenty of time, but it goes by surprisingly quickly when you're constantly waiting for stations to be restocked. A good portion of our meal was spent circling the buffet and hoping items would reappear rather than actually enjoying the food. The meat quality was also disappointing. Some of the cuts labeled as Wagyu were mostly fat with very little actual meat. The dessert selection didn't do much to make up for it either, as most of the options looked pretty unappealing. Even the seating could use some attention. We were seated at a booth with a bench that was extremely wobbly. Every time someone got up, the entire bench would tilt, which made for an uncomfortable dining experience. The one bright spot was our server, Nathan. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to be doing his best to provide a good experience despite the issues around him. Overall, I left feeling frustrated more than satisfied. Okay, great. I won't have to worry about price creep due to the excitement of the restaurant's night market concept. I should have written a review for the first time this happened to me, but I forgot. The Dungeness crab and the lobster were both either not fresh at all or overcooked or both. Then, they were doused with way too much butter and garlic. The crab was crumbly. Why was it crumbly?! I really tried to stuff myself because my friend took me here for my birthday dinner. Then, I started to gag and everything else became completely unappetizing and I could no longer continue eating. I drank water for the rest of the meal as my friend tried to finish what she could. I told the waitress and the restaurant, and they tried to make it up to us. I declined because I just wanted to leave. Third, I got some sashimi the last time I was here and really liked them. This time, there was a fish I couldn't identify aside from the salmon that tasted fishy. Then the soy sauce meant for the sashimi was not meant for sashimi and was sweet. Fourth, I got a squid skewer, shrimp skewer, as well as the some dumplings and chicken feet. What could go wrong? I couldn't stomach any of these, but I tried anyways because I didn't want my friend to pay for having too many leftovers. They were not good. They were rubbery, bland, or just chalky. Lastly and most disappointing of all, my friend and I selected the tomato broth and lobster broth for the hot pot. I innocently went about my usual routine of fishing out the spinach, tong ho, and first meat out of the lobster broth. I happily dipped it into my personally customized sauce, placed some veggies in my mouth, and froze. I then put my chopsticks down, and my friend looked at me knowingly that there was something wrong with the lobster broth. It was extremely greasy and rich. It was as if they put a whole stick of butter in the lobster broth. I can't come here again. Staff and service are impeccable, and I hate to leave this kind of comment, but I might be sick after this meal. The food was good and everything I saw seemed clean. The workers constantly refreshed stock for all the items. There is also definitely a wide variety of food options because they offer grill and hotpot options. There are also many classic and new drink options to grab from their beverage fridge, such as Vita brand juice boxes or HeyTea's bottled drinks. The food is neatly organized by type and the food area layout is essentially a big circle, so it was easy to navigate. The quality is on par with many of their other Chubby group locations! Ambience-wise, the section we were seated in was a bit overstimulating. There were many flashing lights and the section was a bit chaotic with a lot of noise to the point where we couldn't hear each other unless we were nearly yelling to each other. Came back a few times this past couple month. Sometime during weekday too, yes it is that good! My only complaint is the lack of alcohol choices. No sake?! But they have great selections of NA beverages like fresh watermelon juice, plum juice and Chinese brand canned drinks. We love the supermarket concept to pick up whatever we want to try. The atmosphere is lively and fun. My favorites are Dungeness crab and lobsters from the tanks. But they don't always have Dungeness crabs though. The skewers are fantastic, they are our family's favorites. I recommend mushroom and bone broth soup bases. I especially love the mushroom soup. The services were always so friendly and fast. This is definitely our favorite Chinese hot pot place for quality meats and seafood! read more

Boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary!! I have now been here 3 times now and absolutely love it! The lobster broth is my favorite!! I also love going during dinner time for their sashimi! I love how they have such a wide variety for me to choose from. I'm such an indecisive person so it definitely helps! I would recommend skipping the skewers and going straight to the grill meats and the hot pot meats! The beef tongue and pork belly were our favorite. Salmon sashimi was also delicious! I never got the chance to visit Chubby Mart when it was à la carte but now it's all-you-can-eat, AND it's AWESOME! There are three AYCE tiers to choose from, and the quality of both the food and service really impressed us. Our server, Vicky C, was fantastic--she explained the entire process clearly and made sure we knew exactly how everything worked. A few things to know: - You get 90 minutes to eat. - Each table can choose 2 broths. - The $20 upgrade includes up to two plates of Wagyu per person per round, with both a beautifully marbled option and a lean Wagyu available. - Each person can select one specialty item for the entire meal. Before upgrading, be sure to ask what's available that day. When we visited, only the lobster and crab were in stock. - download the chubby app and sign up to the free membership, some nice perks come with it Once you're seated, you pick your broths, push your cart, and start exploring. The first lap felt like walking through a foodie playground! There was an incredible variety of fresh ingredients and a seriously impressive drink selection. One thing that stood out was how fresh everything tasted. Nothing is frozen, and the quality really showed. We visited on a weekend and opted for the upgrade. I was really disappointed with our experience at Chubby Mart. I made a reservation specifically for my son's birthday, so I was expecting at least some acknowledgment or a small celebration for him. Unfortunately, nothing was mentioned or done, which was disappointing since this was supposed to be his special birthday dinner. The food was also underwhelming. The BBQ meat was overly salty, and overall the quality did not match the price. For what they charge, I expected much better food and a better overall experience. Between the high prices, mediocre food quality, and lack of any acknowledgment of my son's birthday despite making a reservation for the occasion, we left feeling very disappointed. Unfortunately, I don't think the experience was worth the price, and I wish we had chosen somewhere else to celebrate his birthday. read more

To start with chubby needs better ventilation as I see two mini splits on one side of the building where we were seated was not doing us justice. Too bad for the other areas of the restaurant. They did have these blowers but all that was moving dead area around. The poor staff had to wear these dumb looking vests that were making them perspire and uncomfortable while performing their duties. Though they did check on us often and get us various things for our dining pleasure I felt bad for them. This was our first time here and we were celebrating my friend's birthday. It was once plate per plate dining but recently they changed it to AYCE and probably for the best. You get to order on an iPad for your shabu meats though it's quite slow for the meats to come to your table but that was okay since I got the majority of my foods at the readymade section. I got plenty of lamb skewers already cooked, sushi and raw fish for my shabu along with vegetables. They had an area for uncooked beef tongue where you cook on a plate in the middle of their hotpot cooking device. Other Wagyu beef tongue were either bbq or just lightly put in the boiling pork bone soup. You also get your own drinks in the refrigerator but you can't leave the restaurant with it. You can get free wifi while in the restaurant but you only get 90 minutes so you're not really enjoying internet while needing to fill your tummy before the time is up. In our selection of $45 per head we each got either a half lobster tail or half Dungeness crab. I got the crab but I'd like a dry spicy rub next time please. Make sure you add yourself to the Yelp waitlist prior to showing up to save yourself a place in line plus make sure your entire party is there to be seated. Even though we added ourselves to the waitlist early we still waited one hour. They have plenty of parking in the parking lot and if not park underground. No street parking. read more
