Bad experience at lunch yesterday. The food was pretty decent, the decoration was really nice, and the dishes came out quickly. However, the service was horrible. There were only 2 servers on the floor at the time. At first, they gave us a tablet to place the order ourselves, but then they took the tablet away after we finished ordering. Later, when the food arrived, we wanted to order more rice wraps for the grilled beef. We tried waving at the servers 5 or 6 times, but they completely ignored our table. We noticed that the servers were checking on other tables around us, but not ours. It honestly made us wonder if the service was worse because we do not speak Chinese. Overall, it did not feel like a welcoming restaurant experience.

I've heard about this place for years and finally had the chance to try it. Definitely lived up to the hype. The interior was nice with a traditional Chinese vibe to it. Food was great. My personal favorite was the Pepper Beef Tongue.

Food: 10/10! Extremely large selection of what I can only imagine is authentic sichuan cuisine! Even delicacies like rabbit are available. We went with more familiar items on our first visit and we were in for a treat! First, the chilled spice cabbage to start was perfectly seasoned and immediately opened my appetite. Mapo tofu was perhaps THE BEST I have ever had. Another favorite was the fried noodles with beef - we ALLLMOST left this out, but everyone agreed this was one of the winners. The white fish was also great, with extremely tender and flavorful pieces. Tofu lovers will all rejoice at the crispy sizzling tofu - but a word of caution - the sizzle is reallll, this one is especially hot, temperature wise. Service: 10/10 No complaints, quick and friendly service. Ambiance: 15/10 The decor absolutely took our breath away. Private dining areas located in the back, beautiful, serene decor greet you when you first open the wooden doors.

Mountain House has great food. There's always a wait. Be sure to arrive early. Dining experience could definitely use some improvement. The tea cups and plates are all chipped. Especially the tea cups. Even employees couldn't find a non chipped cups and gave us paper cups instead. With such good food, upgrading your plates could elevate overall. Also, I was burnt by your shrimp dish. Employee did not tell me that it was hot. Did she do anything about it? No. My recent experience will not stop me from coming just because I do enjoy eating there. Just some improvements to adjust. Also, you can't really go wrong with any of the dish.

Upon entering, it felt like we were transported back to ancient china. It feels very intimate here, great for familial settings. We ordered the string beans, steamed crab with sticky rice, and chili oil dumplings. The string beans are delicious but the dumplings can be passed on. It tasted more like a wonton than a dumpling. The steamed crab took about an hour instead of the agreed 30 or so minutes. However this is fine because our server gave us a free dessert for the long wait. We ordered the osmanthus dessert and it was so yummy! Overall, skip the dumplings get the string beans and crab. I would definitely come back!

The ambiance is of course beautiful, with music and ambient sounds that compliment the interior. This will always be the place I recommend to impress guests!! We ordered the long beans, dumplings, and the sticky rice crab. Note that the crab takes about 20-30 minutes to cook/steam. Our crab unfortunately took much longer, but the kind staff kept us updated during every step, offering to switch the order or keep it and wait, and gave complimentary dessert for the inconvenience. All the food (in my opinion) is traditional yet exceptionally good. They care about their craft and coming here reminds me of home! The staff are always very kind and charismatic, and the many times I have come I have had an excellent experience.

I'm always impressed by the interior of this restaurant every time I dine here. It feels like I've been transported to China! The food here is quite tasty and comes presented very nicely as well. I've been here several times and have enjoyed the dishes I have ordered each time. The food comes out very quickly and the waiters are quite attentive. A bit on the pricier end than your local Szechuan restaurant, but you are paying a bit extra for the experience of dining in an aesthetically pleasing restaurant. I would definitely recommend this spot to take your friends or family out for a nicer dinner!

The restaurant was booked and busy on a Wednesday night which speaks to its popularity. The interior is gorgeous and truly emulates that of a traditional Chinese village with the dimly lit lanterns and wooden architecture. We were seated quickly since we had reservations using Yelp and the host walked us to our table in the back. The seats weren't the most comfortable but the table was spacious for just two people. The host came back with a delicious pickled veggie appetizer and some tea. It was my first time here, so I was excited to try a lot of items since I don't have authentic Szechuan cuisine very often. My most anticipated item was the most popular, the swing pork belly, which came with an addictingly good garlic sauce. My favorite dish, however, was the green spicy whole fish. The fish was tender and delicate but balanced well with the sauce. I also really enjoyed the grilled beef ribs, since it's served like Peking duck, where you build your own wrap. It didn't come with bao buns, like pictured on the menu, but the meat was tender and the whole dish was flavorful nonetheless. The ma-la boiled beef is another solid choice for an entree, which I would choose over the la-zi chicken. We finished off the meal with the black sesame shaved ice with snowy cream, and I would say it satisfied my sweet tooth, but I wish the bowl wasn't as shallow because I wanted more. Overall, the waiters were nice, we didn't wait long for the food, and it's a great place for large groups since there's plenty of large tables and even some private dining rooms.

Insanely good food and beautiful interior, but I'm not a huge fan of the mobile ordering as it kind of throws off the vibe of the place. Also, a lot of tables had people watching videos without headphones, which felt a bit off-putting for what is otherwise a fairly upscale restaurant.

Came in for a dinner date with my husband. We ordered the steamed crab, stir fried cabbage, grilled beef rib and swinging pork belly. All the food was beautifully presented and delicious. The ambiance was warm and absolutely stunning. It makes you feel like you stepped into an ancient Chinese palace. The service was great, my servers Sherry and Serene were both so helpful and kind. They were so attentive and friendly with the whole dining experience. My favorite dish was the steamed crab which was steamed in huge leaf and came with tasty glutinous rice and bonito flakes. It was such a fun and interactive meal. Definitely would come back.

An incredible meal for date night! I absolutely love the decor and vibes here. Some of my favorite dishes I tried were the sour cabbage fish soup (eat it with rice), grilled beef ribs (really unique concept similar to Peking duck), and garlic pea sprouts (my fav veggie). The service is also really great, and I love that you can just order through their iPad. I highly recommend making a reservation or coming early during the busy times (Friday nights and weekends).

This restaurant is so good. I took my parents and they were impressed. The swing pork belly was so tender with amazing sauce. My dad said he hadn't eaten such a good flavor like that in a while. I liked the short ribs as they were tender and it was unique to wrap it like Peking duck . The fish was tender . The veggies were fresh . The ambience is lovely and there is a koi pond out front . Overall great dining experience.

The food took eight minutes and nine seconds. Fast time! As mentioned, the Beef Rib Noodle Soup ($16.50 - Mild) is wonderful! It arrived picturesque and delicious!! However, despite ordering "mild," the food has a very strong heat; I sweat nonstop as I ate. The broth is rich, savory, and spicy. The meat is tender, flavorful, and falls off the bone. To be honest, I've been scared to try this spot because I have heard about how spicy the broth can…read morebe...for years!! Today, my coworkers finally persuaded me to give it a try since the weather is cooler & I feel very silly now. The exterior and interior decor of this place is on point with the bold red and lanterns. It really sets the mood. Service was exceptional during lunch (wasn't too busy). The staff helped change out dirty plates often. Everything was clean. They were helpful in explaining the AYCE menu. The only problem I experienced is how slow the virtual menu was to load and long buffers between each click. At one point it stopped working to reorder so the waitress had to do it manually anyway. We got the half tomato (light spice) and half spicy soup (mild) base and both were really good! I might upgrade to med next time. The meat quality was great, esp the 1 wagyu plate per person that comes with AYCE. Surprisingly the fatty beef was so tender as well. Even the mala beef didn't hurt going in...or out. The bellflower veggie is a must try. Never had this crunchy vegetable before. Love the self serve bar with so many desserts and Chinese chips options.
