    Golden Soup - 1 person
    Linda K.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon to satisfy my curiosity about this spot known for its sauerkraut fish. I ordered the Golden Soup with Black Fish. According to the staff, this option is less sour than the Laotan version, which made it the better choice for my preference. Ordering is done through a QR code that leads to their website, and the process was simple and convenient. However, it would be even better if each menu item included ingredient descriptions, especially for guests who are not familiar with Chinese dishes and may not recognize the soups by name alone. The soup comes with rice, with portion options for one or two people. Service was quick, and as shown in the picture, the broth included peppercorns and dried chili that added a nice kick to the flavor. The crispy fish somehow I found no presentation when it comes to serving despite it tastes good. The decor follows a bright orange fish theme, which I found eye-catching and memorable.

Five stars because it's one of the very few places I can take my dad out to eat at and he won't complain about the wait, the price, or tax + tip! Arrived early enough on a rainy day to not have to wait too long for a table. Quickly ordered the green peppercorn fish small and the old pickled veggies fish in large, giving us 3 bowls of rice. Additionally, ordered the pork and the fried milk. Everything was good! The pork is a nice sized portion of the price and the fried milk is hard to find in LA these days. Both fish options were really tasty, good enough my parents kept saying "taste like China". 3 people just barely finished all the ordered food left stuffed. Service was friendly, but this is a classical China-like restaurant, add your name to a waitlist, get seated, scan QR to order, wait for food, notify them of checkout online, wait for them to come collect payment. Parents were big fans of this method

I have always kind of wanted to try this place out but have seen lines and the store is always busy. But on a fun night recently was able to have this for dinner. The place is super packed with all the tables and chairs filled with people enjoying this fish. It has many locations all across the world but this was my first time having this style of fish soup. It's a little sour and a little spicy with what I would say is sort of like a mustard flavor and I am pretty sure not everyone is going to like it but I thought this was actually pretty nice. You can order different sizes based on the number of people you have. Tonight's meal we had a party of four and shared two different types of soup bases with a few different sides. It came super quick and I would suggest getting a bowl of rice with the fish. So if you want to try something different and you don't mind bold yet sour and spice than this will be for you!

I don't think I've had this kind of soup before but it's delicious! The soup has that deep flavor broth, unique and authentic. The portions are huge with affordable prices. The only thing not very much to my liking is the soup leans too oily. However, it is packed with flavor and ooh I actually enjoyed my tangy lemon bowl. Menus are by QR code each table and you order directly from your phone. The bill is shared by table which makes it easy. This spot is tucked away at Yes Plaza so there will be lots of parking but can be a little difficult on rush hours. Overall, a solid spot with bold, comforting flavors and generous portions. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Located in a plaza with plenty of parking Staff was super nice and friendly. We got the fish suancai and another spicy fish and they were both good! The portion size is good! Not too big and not too small. They also have non spicy food options!

Refreshing, clean but still flavorful pickled fish soup! Dont know anywhere else that offers this which explains why it was so busy on a Tuesday night Large portions so since hubby and I weren't too hungry, we shared 1 portion which comes with 1 bowl of rice, if you want another bowl its $1.99 but unlimited after that ---signature fish soup: enjoyed this although it wasnt at all spicy unless you got lucky and one of the fried peppers were spicy (they act like shishitos, only some are spicy) ---Taiwanese sausage: ehhh Will have to come back to try other soups! NOTE: Order with QR code at the table and pay at the front register

There was about a 10 minute wait for a table on a Sunday evening. We got the signature suan cai yu dish. We read reviews stating the small size was enough for two, but decided to go for the larger size. We actually felt the larger size was good for two adults with normal appetite. The dish felt light with all the vegetables and boiled fish. It wasn't that spicy (no customization of spice level) but did have a mild mala numbing sensation. It comes with unlimited rice - just ask the servers if you need a refill. Overall, it was a satisfying meal that was hearty and light. We would definitely consider coming back.

I have been visiting Fish With You since the day they first opened about a year ago. The lines were crazy at the beginning, but the turnover was always fast, which made the wait manageable. No waiting in line in most of my recent visits. Their specialty is sliced fish served in a variety of soup bases, though they also offer beef and a few small side dishes. Personally, I always come back for the fish, and it's flavorful without feeling too heavy, making it a great option when you want something satisfying but not greasy. They offer two types of fish, and I highly recommend paying a little extra to upgrade to the black fish. The regular option uses regular frozen fish, which tend to be mushy and lack texture, while the black fish has a much better bite and overall quality. I have tried most of their soup flavors, but I keep coming back to the tomato based soup when I want something lighter and healthier. The other spicy or suancai (pickled mustard greens) soups are also tasty, though they're more oily and have stronger, more overpowering flavors, and it's better as an occasional choice. After choosing your fish and soup base, you can select two items to cook together in the soup. When dining in, they also provide unlimited white rice, which is a nice bonus if you come with a big appetite. I have m heard that their soup bases are pre made, packed, and reheated in the restaurant, but as long as food safety isn't an issue, I don't mind. It actually helps them serve food quickly, which is a plus. Overall, Fish With You is a good spot for a simple, quick, Chinese influenced fish soup meal, especially when you're craving something comforting yet not too heavy or simply want to eat something hot/soup on a cold day.

Such an affordable fish soup. I have came here twice already in 1 month. Service was good, both times I went. It wasn't crowded at the times we were there and on the table there is a QR code to order. First time I came here was with my friends and shared for the 3 of us the signature Suancai Fish, fried pork and fried fish. All the dishes were really good and it filled us up. We did prefer the fried fish instead of the pork. And make sure to ask for the chilli powder for the fried food. Then I came back with the hubby and got the Signature Suancai and Tangy Lemon fish. Both was good but I still prefer the signature. Even tho there is dried chillies and peppercorn on the soup, it wasn't that spicy. More on the mild side. Definitely be coming back to try other flavors.

Great experience overall and I have been quite a few times. Wait is usually less than 30 minutes even when it was busier, and they are usually busy during dinnertime. You have to go in person to add yourself to a waitlist and they will text you when a table is ready. The restaurant is well-lit, maybe too well lit lol. I would prefer if it wasn't so bright in there, but perhaps that is how they get people to leave right when they are done. It seems the table turnover is high, which makes sense because the food is served quickly and the staff are efficient in picking up dishes and trash from the table as you are dining. The food is solid and the portions are good. The bowls make it look like there is too much food but they are more shallow than meets the eye. Their signature suancai & fish is solid. Spicy, tart, so much flavor. Love this with the fish and also beef added. Recently I tried the royal tomato fish and it is a new favorite! It's rich and actually full of tomato flavor, and more thick than watery. The only thing I can think of is when calling in to check on how busy the restaurant was one time, customer service could have been friendlier. 4.5 I wish it was a bit more comfortable in the restaurant with the lighting but I get why!

Fish with You is a delicious spot for quick Szechuan soup to satisfy the craving! I have been here about 6 times and have even ordered soup to go. I can say that the quality for both dine in and to-go are the same! Also a side note on to-go orders, is that the restaurant gives you a nice bag to hold the soup in and because the soup has oil, it keeps the dishes naturally hot for long periods of time. I even door dashed it and an hour later the soup was still hot! I used to order the Signature Suancai and Fish soup which was good and had deep flavor and spice, but it had too much peppercorn for my taste which made me look for something else. I now order the Green Szechuan Suancai and Fish and the flavors and spice are just perfect! It balances the tanginess and spice very well! When you order a soup, you are asked to select a side and I always opt for the Enoki Mushroom - absolutely delicious! The soup also comes with thick, wide cut vermicelli noodles which add texture and fun when slurping. My girlfriend sometimes refuses to get Szecuan soup at other places just do this noodle alone! Speaking of girlfriend, she orders the Tangy Lemon Fish and it's very good if you're looking for a more tangy soup! Still packs the same flavor punch, and isn't incredibly sour. The serving size is also perfect for 1 person (see the photos) and you will be full when leaving, especially with rice being served on the side. Its located in Diamond Plaza, Rowland Heights and if you've been here, you know the traffic and parking can be a nightmare... There is lower level parking so if you can snag a spot, then definitely get it since parking on the upper level is tight and busy. For those worried about a language barrier, the restaurant has a self serve order method where you can scan the QR code on table and order/pay all from your phone!

The service was so quick and attentive throughout the meal! We visited a bit later in the evening and luckily just missed the main dinner crowd. We were glad we were seated immediately and shown how to order. When you dine in, you're directed to scan a QR code to order and I personally think it's less stressful than trying to quickly decide on a menu item as a server waits for you. They have a variety of soups and two size options. We ordered the golden soup with basa fish. It was perfectly numbingly spicy with the tang of suancai. This is a great bang for one's buck meal option because the 2 person meal is quite large and just a little over $30 with our add-ons.

I saw them adding so much sauce and spreading it evenly, so I expected super flavorful bites all around, but I guess because the sauce was added to the top instead of being mixed with the eggs (which I know isn't possible with the way it's made), you get super bland and dry bites mixed with super salty ones. Maybe this just isn't for me because my husband loved it and chowed down on it real fast. Recommend getting this to share as it's huge and some might not like it. Their HK style food is authentic and delicious. We started with the hot and sour soup and it is literally the best version we have ever had. It had a bit of the Szechuan numbing spice and was a huge portion so we took half home. We also ordered their steamed rice rolls with shrimp and chive and you can tell it was made fresh by the wrinkles in the rice paper. The last item we ordered was their chinese sausage clay pot. It was exactly what we were craving. Crispy rice all along the edges with perfectly steamed rice, chinese broccoli and crispy chinese sausage. It was hard to choose because their menu was huge and we came late so we missed the pineapple buns but definitely need to try it next time. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. I enjoyed how the French-style filet mignon was garnished with Thai basil, black pepper, and ginger. The meat was flavorful and tender. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting. The atmosphere during the Sunday lunch peak time was consistently bustling. I think the restaurant started to play Chinese music loudly at random points so that people could finish dining more quickly.
