Came to dinner very hungry and left with my stomach full and satisfied. All the food was delicious and fresh. For some reason the pork chops were half hot and half cold, might be made earlier. What stood out was the big 5 lbs lobster that tastes it fresh and crunchy. We ordered with noodles underneath, it paired up so well with the lobster sauce. Service was excellent, our server even offered to pack the food Togo for us. It wasn't too busy tonight so it was nice and warm while enjoying our dinner and watching TV on the big screen. Went to 长岛大酒店 for their anniversary celebration and was pleasantly surprised by the value. They had several dishes for only $8.95, which is a really good deal for the portion and quality. Again this review is for their take out department only. Their dim sums have gotten very bad. We ordered four plates of dim sums. Two of them are uneatable...the shrimp puff and the white sugar cake. The BBQ was good especially the roast pork because it was freshly baked. We have no choice here in Puente Hill North. This is the only shop with dim sum and BBQ, so we have to suffer. I didn't realize there was a Top Island in Rowland heights! I usually go to the one in Alhambra. This location is not as big as its sister location, but it serves the community on the east side. Came here for a Wedding Banquet and thoroughly enjoyed it. I totally forgot to snap pictures of the food before they were devoured. Restaurant was spacious, and the wedding party took up half of the restaurant. The food is your standard Cantonese seafood restaurant fare. Some of my favorite dishes were the walnut shrimp; braised sea cucumber, and stir fried conch. I would recommend this restaurant if you need a venue to host a Chinese wedding banquet. The place is spacious enough for seating a good number of guests while still managing to have an intimate feel. Parking is easy to find as it shares a plaza with TS Emporium. The Top Island in Rowland Heights has opened up and it is on Nogales Blvd. I came here early with a large group of people for dim sum. The place looks clean and new. We ordered a lot of food but since many are pork I didn't really eat a lot of the dishes. The safe food that I did try was mainly shrimp dishes and seafood options. They were delicious! I was looking for a new place to dim sum found myself here. All dim sum dishes are $6.39 a dish. They're all created equal apparently. We ordered our favorites: -steamed pork & shrimp dumplings ~ siu mai -spare ribs in black bean sauce -bean curd roll with oyster sauce -deep fried pork dumpling -fried white radish patty with shrimp -deep fried shrimp ball -crispy seaweed roll Undercooked is the best way to describe all the fried dishes. The radish patty, shrimp ball, and crispy seaweed roll were all kinda mushy in texture. The crispy seaweed roll fared worse of the three - the seaweed was so chewy and hard to cleanly bite without having to do a shake and wiggle between my teeth. The siu mai was also mush city. To be honest, there was something a little off with each one of the dishes. Of the dishes, I liked the deep fried pork. The ball of dough was nicely crisped on the exterior. We have been dining at the Food To Go location for 12+ years (Roast meats & Dim Sum), so we wanted to see how the sit down restaurant was. We were immediately seated and served hot tea & peanuts. Went for lunch on a Friday afternoon and there was no wait. Restaurant was about 1/5 full. They have a great lunch special if you spend $25. There are 3 options but I only remember 2 which are the $21 lobster with noodles and a stewed duck with tofu. You can only order one dish but the owner was nice enough to let us order both. Came here with the family after driving down from Tahoe. This place is huge, like many of the other cantonese style restaurants. We were able to secure ourselves a private room for the 15 of us. Its a typical authentic Chinese restaurant in that English is their second language. Fortunately we had individuals that could speak Chinese. We ordered lots of dishes, from honey walnut shrimp to lobsters to fried rice to egg drop soup to their chicken dish and their duck dish to many other dishes. They all came out quickly. One after the next. Food was really good. I really liked their fried shrimp dish and honey walnut shrimp. But all the dishes were good. We left here stuffed and with leftovers. They do change out your plates several times so that was nice. I really did like the private room room. Gave it some exclusivity.
