mapo tofu

I came here the other day with my partner, and this is by far the best Boston Lobster location I've tried. Personally, I think it's much better than the Rosemead one. I've had a few experiences at Rosemead where the food didn't seem fresh (like the clams), so I was hesitant to try this location, but I'm glad I did. Overall, the food here was very good. The only dish that didn't stand out was the beef fried rice, which wasn't as good as I've had elsewhere. Everything else was solid. We ordered the Kung Pao chicken, which had nice crispy chicken, and the mapo tofu, which was very tasty, though not spicy at all, so definitely ask for extra spice if you prefer heat. Service, however, wasn't great. We went around 3 PM, and it was pretty slow...just us and a couple of other families, but it still took a long time for them to take our order, which was surprising. I'd come back for the food quality since it was decent, but the service could definitely improve. I'd give it a 4 out of 5. I didn't try the seafood this time, so I can't compare it directly to the Rosemead location in that regard.

We wanna try new branch Boston Lobster and it didn't disappoint. We ordered Signature Lobster, it weighed 3,5 lbs with market price that day $34 per lbs. And let me tell you, there is no such a regret in ordering pricey food for your own good sake. Pea Sprout was a lot considered for 2 of us and we had it to go. Service was quick. Food that we ordered came in less than 10 mins. Though I did not impress the way one male staff toss one menu on table and making us shock coz it was making loud sound.

Love their AMAZING lunch specials which run until about 4:30pm Mon-Friday. $12.95 or $13.95. Got to try their shrimp garlic sauce. It was so good, loaded with so much shrimp and veggies. So good I got 1 more togo. Comes with rice and hot tea. They end the meal with fresh orange wedges. Service is always good!

Boston Libster offers a variety of delicious and authentic Cantonese food. Lunch specials we ordered (clam, fish, shrimp and tofu plus small pea sprout) were outstanding and are of great value ($14.88 each). The staff were attentive and check in as needed. The ambiance is clean, casual and comfortable. Lots of parking available upfront. Highly recommended!

Idk how I never knew there as a Boston Lobster here! Anyways, I have been going to Newport this entire time so it's a nice change to try a different place. I will admit that I probably prefer Boston Lobster! The inside is pretty spacious and accommodates large groups in the main diving area or in the separate walled off room areas. We came on a Sunday right at morning and were able to seat 9 individuals. They have high chairs as well for the little ones. The menu is pretty straightforward if you're used to Chinese lobster places. Everything's basically a shared dish! We got the medium lobster w noodles and it was perfect for 6 adults. We ended up taking home leftovers. Truly can't go wrong w lobster and noodles. It's an absolute must when coming here. We got the fillet fish with salt and pepper. This is nice sized crunchy fried fish that was easily shareable. The French style beef cube is a must as well. The meat pieces were pretty big but slightly chewy. I'm a fan of pea sprouts and it was a hit with our group. Probably the only vegetable we had. lol! Clams w basil sauce was yummy and the clams were a good size! We also got a plate of fried rice to share which was a good dish for the kids. It came with an assortment of different protein including pork(I think) and shrimp! Finally, got some fried tofu! Very silky on the inside and nicely fried on the outside. They were kind enough to hold a cake for us and provide us w clean plates and forks for cake cutting. Came out to like $360ish total and then added tip. Overall, happy w the food and service. Free parking in the lot.

Great place for authentic Chinese (Cantonese) style! Coming from Monterey Park / Alhambra Chinese spots, this place tops them all. This is very similar to Newport Seafood in San Gabriel, Rowland Heights, and OC. Excellent service, great fresh food, and made to order! Everything I tried was awesome. Lunch specials are the best bang for the buck!

Geoduck 2 way. Body is fried.

Newport Seafood has some serious competition. I heard this place was started by one of the chefs from there. Similar menu to Newport Seafood but portions here were HUGE! Lobster was one of the best I've ever had. Geoduck 2 way was also excellent. Did I say the portions were huge? I ordered what I normally order in terms of number of dishes but I had to bring a lot of it home as it was impossible to finish. Seafood was fresh as expected. My only disappointment was the crispy noodles with seafood. Where is the seafood? Small shrimp and lot of fillings of veggies and imitation crab meat. Quite disappointing. But given the quality of their other dishes I don't ding them too much for that. Service was excellent. They came around and replaced our dishes frequently. Highly recommended and I would now rank this place above Newport Seafood.

Boston Lobster *January 5th, 2026 *6pm- Monday *4 Stars Environment: *Take Out Order *Large Sized Parking Lot *Inside Seating Food/Drink: *Braided Cab Meat and Fish Maw Soup *Shrimp with Walnut *Salt and Pepper Pork Chop *Fried Noodle with Chicken *Chicken with Straw Mushroom *Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce I ordered takeout from Boston Lobster for dinner for my family and had a solid overall experience. The food was prepared quickly, and the service was good from start to finish. When I arrived to pick up the order, the staff packaged everything securely and even helped bring the food out to the car, which was really appreciated. The dishes were all flavorful and held up well for takeout, making it an easy and satisfying meal. The only downside was the ordering process. There isn't an online menu available, and the photos posted by other reviewers were low quality and hard to read. That made it a bit difficult to figure out what was available when placing our order. Aside from that inconvenience, everything else went smoothly, and I'd still consider ordering from here again.

Outpost of popular seafood spot with another location in Rosemead. Came here for dinner with my family (total of 6) and cost about $350 for a medium sized lobster + garlic noodles, steamed veggies, white rice, and Mongolian beef (plus alcohol). They have various sizes of lobster so smaller groups can come, but I think the sweet spot is a party of at least 4 and up. There's a free parking lot. This location does take reservations but you must call ahead. Credit cards accepted. My mom is in love with the lobster garlic noodles and we like to come here when we have people in town visiting.

Boston Lobster has been a staple in this area. Now it's located at the corner at Nogales and Colima. Have quite large capacity. Always crowded during meal time but the line move fast. Service was fast, typical Cantonese-Viet Restaurant style, with Lobster as Main staple. Their best offer is their lunch special menu. 7 days a week exclude Holidays 11:30-4:45pm! Now price at $12.95-$13.95. Come with rice and tea. Plenty of food to eat by yourself and have some left over if you order by group. Good taste and portion. So far, all of our orders are tasty. You can tell by the majority of customer and probably return customers. Modern ambiance with Cashier in the center. So you have to walk in and get your number when there is a line.

Came for our friends holiday get together with our families. It was an unforgettable meal. We ordered the banquet style $728 option which came with two styles of geoduck. I have never tried geoduck any other way but sashimi style and I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty their house special was. The soup style geoduck was pretty bland. Lobster with noodles has always been my fave. The clams were a bit spicy for the kids but the adults loved them. Crab dish amazing. Pea sprouts delicious. Fried rice was meh--. Walnut shrimp good. Sea cucumber dish some pieces were hard. Ambiance was good, spacious and we were able to enjoy ourselves. Gf brought a cake for a bday and the crew helped us clear the table and brought plates/forks without having to ask. Con: My gf reserved a table for 15 and we were hoping to sit together as it was after all a holiday dinner however indicated they booked it for 2 tables. The kids were okay with sitting on a table of 4. One friend's family was not able to make it after all so we were all able to sit together but that was a bit frustrating.

Boston Lobster is a pretty cool spot if you're into seafood with a Cantonese twist. The menu has tons of options so you can mix it up whether you want lobster, crab, or other seafood dishes. The service was really nice and easygoing, the kind of vibe that makes you feel welcome without any pressure. The place was clean too which just makes things better when you're out eating. It's in a strip mall so nothing fancy, but don't let that fool you the food is really good. I went on a weekday lunchtime and parking was no problem at all, which is always a bonus. The whole vibe is laid-back and casual, perfect for hanging out with friends or family without any stress. If you want fresh seafood done Cantonese style this spot is worth a visit. Good food, good service, and a chill atmosphere make it a solid choice when you're in the neighborhood.

Food was really good. It's a small restaurant but they're quick and stay on top of it. Came with a group of 17 ppl and they took great care of us. Some dishes were small but very flavorful. Since I wasn't the one ordering, I'm not sure what the prices were for each dish. We each paid $57/pp for about 9 dishes. Their lunch specials menu looked good but since it's a holiday weekend, they weren't offered. I think I would probably come back and try some more items off the menu.

Lots of shredded chicken that wasn't dry... quite moist. Fresh onions and herbs. Tons and I mean tons of rice noodles. I'm getting this again! 2. Pho Tai (Rare Steak) with tendon - My daughter ate this. She said it was very very delicious. Broth was amazingly savory. Tons of rare steak slices. Tendon was good. Fresh veggies. Parking: The place is located in a plaza. You won't have trouble finding a space to park…read more Inside: It's a small and cozy mom and pop shop that gives at home vibes. The inside has a few booth and table seatings. I would say no more than 15 tables total. Phở Tái Sách/ Pho w/ Rare Steak and Tripe (regular): The pho bowl came with a huge size portion of noodles, soup, rare steak and tripe. On top they garnished it with green onions, cilantro and thinly sliced white onions. The meat they used is very thinly sliced and tender. The tripe was also cooked well. If you have never had tripe before I would describe it as having a super mild taste and it's mostly there to adds texture. It tastes really great too because t soaks up the broth flavor. If you like chewy noodles or mushrooms with a bit of bite, you might like tripe. The pho noodles they used are the ones I love the most. It's a thin pho noodle and they cooked them perfectly. The broth is clear, has a good depth of flavor, not overly greasy and the salt amount they added is perfect. On the side they give you a plate of other garnishes, beansprouts, chili peppers, lime, and basil which you can add to your hearts content. Spring rolls: I loved these a lot. They were very fresh and stuffed. Inside the spring roll is shrimp, sliced pork, lettuce, basil, and vermicelli. This is served with a side of peanut sauce. Loved that the sauce had chunks of peanuts for crunch. Overall: All the staff are very friendly, and the pho tastes homemade and authentic. Definitely a solid go-to when you're craving something warm and comforting. I'm so glad I found this lovely gem! I can't wait to come back again. PSA - They offer vegan pho bowls and vegetarian spring rolls and egg rolls.

Very good food, but the prices here are astronomical…read more I ordered by phone because I was driving and didn't have the ability to do it online. I was shocked when I went in to pick up that my order (a grilled pork banh mi, an order of egg rolls, and an iced coffee) was freaking $32!! I didn't get an itemized receipt, so once I got back to my car, I went to their website to look up prices. 4 egg rolls are $12.50. That's $3 per egg roll! The sandwich is $11 and the coffee is $6. The kicker is that there's a combo--sandwich and coffee--for $15. They could've saved me some money, but they chose to not to in order to make a few extra bucks. Their prerogative, but in this economy, not cool to not help out. The result: a customer who's not coming back and who's posting about it to warn others. I normally don't do this because I'm aware that mom and pops are struggling. It's also possible that the menu prices on their website are out of date and they did give me the combo price, but THIRTY-TWO DOLLARS (!!) for a sandwich (great bread and tasty but sweet pork, a little underwhelming on the fillings overall), some egg rolls (with enough lettuce for each one, as well as sauce and do chua, but also a little underfilled), and a 16 oz cup of coffee with ice and condensed milk is pretty crazy. I can get the same meal nearby for at least $5 less or find other types of food that'll feed more people for the same price.
