Pho Anvi is great. Their pho is pretty decent tasting. They have the option for you to get unlimited extra noodles when you dine in. The noodles come on the side in a small bowl with some broth. They noodles are a bit hard, so you need warm soup to cook the noodles a little bit. I also got the northern egg rolls. They were tasty with the veggies and the fish sauce. The egg rolls came out so fast. Not sure how. We ordered and they came out 2-3 min later. Service is mediocre. Not amazing, but also not the worst. read more

We came on a Wednesday afternoon, so it wasn't crowded at all, and they easily accommodated our group of seven--no issues at all bringing in my double-decker stroller. There's a surprising amount of places to get pho in West Covina and my mom and I decided to try Pho Anvi out to add to our bingo list. It's been in the community for some time and I believe decades ago it was a different pho place that my family and I went to as well. It's located in a plaza down the street from the West Covina Mall. Good amount of parking and around lunch time on a Thursday, it wasn't too busy. We were seated right away. My mom immediately started ordering some thing that wasn't pre-made on the menu but that they had the meats for but did so in Vietnamese where the waiter had to summon his more experienced coworker to assist with. I guess he forgot to transfer over our drink order since we had to add it in after when we paid. My mom got I believe a combo of medium rare eye round steak and well done brisket. I got their Pho Anvi, the namesake of the restaurant, which came in a larger metal bowl and had julienne slices of ginger and filet mignon with fresh noodles. The noodles were thicker for my pho than what my mom ordered. I'm not the biggest fan of the thicker noodles, but it was alright. Meat was a bit tougher than what I would have liked and both of us agreed that our broth didn't have that rich, umami flavor like other pho places. It's as if the broth didn't have enough time to simmer and boil. We got our ca phe sua da (Viet milk coffee) and taro smoothie, both were really, really sweet. I picked up a to-go order with two large broths, two pho bowls, spring rolls, and noodles. Everything was crammed into one bag. The moment I started driving, both broth containers leaked, soaking through the bag and leaving a literal puddle of broth all over my passenger floorboard and into my cloth floor mats. I called immediately, hoping for at least an apology. Instead, I was told, "Come pick up new broths if you want." That was it. When I returned, they handed me replacement broths that still weren't sealed properly. I asked for a rag and was told, "I only have one." I asked for two bags to prevent it from happening again and was given one smaller bag. I stood in their parking lot wringing broth out of my floor mats. No apology. No manager. No accountability. The spill was an accident. Their response was a choice. It's incredibly disappointing to realize that after over a year of loyalty, this is how they treat their customers.
