came in for brunch around 11am on a Tuesday after running errands in the neighborhood. pretty large area with many tables. picked my own table by the window. waiter dropped off the menu for me to browse through. I ordered a house special pho, egg rolls and Vietnamese hot coffee with condensed milk. I was expecting the pho comes out first as usually that's the case since the soup is ready made, pho noodle doesn't take long to cook. but the egg rolls actually came out first piping hot. I was also pleasantly surprised that I can taste some meat inside the egg rolls. Pho and coffee came about the same time. pho noodle was standard size with enough pho noodle (still too much for my taste). the beef slices do have some pink (raw) color when it was served. soup was flavorful enough. coffee was too sweet for my taste. Solid location. The prices are relatively cheap and the portions are huge. The charge for a large versus a regular pho is only $1 and they are pretty quick about getting the food out. I'd say the only thing I don't like is how disorganized the wait list process is. You write down your name and the list itself isn't supervised or in a place where you sign then sit in an area separate from the list, so the waiting area becomes cluttered with guests and congested. Staff was rude to my family and dropped scissors that almost fell onto my dads hands when they were serving us. They seemed annoyed that we were there. They were not happy to take our orders and felt short towards my family while we were just trying to spend time out together. Saigon use to be a fun place to be when I'd visit in college. I've been coming to this restaurant since I was a kid. I love the food! The salmon and fried rice used to be my favorite. Now, I get the beef stir fry with rice, it's about $14. Many of the tables were taken but we were still seated quickly and given menus, though there seemed to only be two people taking orders, serving food, and clearing tables. We came here on a weekday so it wasn't too busy. It was very calm and the interior was really clean and welcoming. We got seated immediately and the food came out fast. I ordered the Salted Plum Soda and the flavor was pretty intense at first. Once the ice diluted the drink a bit, the flavor became the right amount of salty and sweet. The shrimp they included in my Shrimp and Eggroll Vermicelli tasted so delicious and was cooked to perfection. Absolutely horrible experience. My family and I ordered three pho soups (#1 combination) and a Thai tea with boba, and our total came out to $65 for food that was barely edible. The portions were small, there was barely any meat, and the noodles were overcooked and soggy. The tendon had a strange smell and didn't taste right at all. The Thai tea itself was fine, but the boba was hard and clearly not fresh. On top of that, the server was extremely rude and unprofessional. The restaurant itself felt unsanitary dishes left around, a bad smell in the air, and dim lighting that made the place feel dirty and neglected. What's most concerning is that after eating here, my little sister became extremely sick. She had severe stomach pain, vomiting, and a fever, and it got bad enough that she had to go to the hospital. This was one of the only full meals she had that day, which makes the situation very alarming. Overall, this experience was not just disappointing it was concerning. Something important was missing in the soup. also tried the shrimp spring roll but only took one bite. The shrimp had a strange taste that made me worry it wasn't fresh, so I didn't eat the rest. The dipping sauce was basically just sugar water with no real flavor. Even the fountain Coke was a letdown. Rainy weather, warm pho dac biet - what could possibly beat this combo? During my last visit, I tried their pho ga and was unimpressed and uninterested in ordering it again. However, trying the most common pho dish left me to decide upgrading it to a 4/5 since the location is clean and the food is tasty! I can't say that this is "the best" I've ever had, but it definitely nears it. I really enjoyed how how clean it tasted and how little oil there was. Areas that could be improved were service, specifically when waiting for a table. I had to stand around for almost 5 minutes before being noticed, and when I had returned afterwards for a forgotten item, I hadn't been noticed until I had walked out again.
