I ordered a pork banh mi and shrimp spring rolls to go and I'll give it a 3.6/5 stars. I parked right in front of the establishment and order at the front counter right away. The food took around 10-15 mins and I brought it home to eat right away. The pork banh mi was delicious and I even went back another day to try out the beef banh mi (equally as delicious). I loved the pate sauce and the juicy meat in the banh mi. The baguette was also crunchy and the jalapenos added a nice kick to the sandwich. The spring rolls were a little less desirable and dry. Despite the peanut sauce it came with, I did not really enjoy the rolls as the meat and noodles were dry. I would not order those again, but the banh mis were delicious. I'd give the banh mis themselves a 4/5 but I lowered the rating solely because of the spring rolls. read more

First time here under this management and ownership. I don't remember how many times they changed ownerships. Place is nicely decorated, updated and relatively clean. Server seats us right away. We ordered #16 and fried tofu. Pho came out quick. Tofu came out later. I accidentally knocked over my cup of water. My husband went and gets the server's attention. He came quick to help. Offered us to move to another table and he'll clean up. I apologized for the mess I made. Server brought me another fresh cup of iced water. Very nice service. Thank you. Pho was good. Nothing special. I think the rare steak is well done and over cooked. Tofu was very crispy. It came with a vinaigrette kind of peanut dipping sauce. Great service! I called on the phone and they were very kind and patient when taking my order. I got chicken pho to go. They gave me hoisin, spicy sauces in a small container, and siracha! The veggies such as basil and bean sprouts were also in a separate bag. It also already came with utensils. The noodles and meat came in a separate container with soup in a large Togo container. Bf got the Pho with Rare Steak and Brisket +$1 for large and said it tasted healthier and flavor was good! Although portion did seem a bit on the smaller side. The Bun Bo Hue could use some more lemongrass but it was pretty spicy and had a strong flavor and tomato-y taste. It came with very tender slices of beef shank, tendon, sausage, and thicker rice noodle. I didn't see the free dessert until the end but you can ask the server for a coconut jelly! Was craving a decent bahn mi and this place was legit. I had the grilled pork and it was a good balance of the bread (which had a nice crispy crust and fluffy inside) and the pork and the cucumber, radish and carrots and cilantro. There's a touch of mayo, and I think they use a little cumin or curry on the pork which is subtle but a great taste. I also had the wonton soup and it was excellent. Great chicken based broth, with a hint of garlic and ginger, not too salty with a clean taste - they know how to make soup. Lots of fresh green onion too. It was midday and we were all starving when Pho 909 popped up on my radar. Since then I've gone back to order bahn mis when I was on the road going out of town, and on another occassion, my husband and I finally got to dine in and tried their pho. Service is okay, you order everything up front then it will be serve to you. One adult and two kids are going for quick dinner nearby on a Monday night. We order fried gyoza, it's tasty and crispy. The pho, it's good but the soup base doesn't seem that rich. It's better than average. We order mango sticky rice. Mango and dressing are perfect the sticky rice is too hard and dry. I saw that this place opened up recently and wanted to try it. It's located near Cal Poly Pomona and has a good amount of parking but it does get packed. I have been trying bun/ vermicelli noodles at restaurants. I chose their 34A ($17.50) which is grilled pork, shrimp paste, and egg rolls with sliced lettuce, sliced cucumber, crushed peanuts, picked radish and carrots with a fish based sauce. The portion size was ok and it tasted fresh and the meat was well marinated and grill well. I also got their grilled pork spring rolls ($7) with peanut sauce which was ok but I wouldn't get it again. One of my favorite foods and have tried many. We ordered 3 different pho. #12 Beef Brisket #13 Rare Brist #16 Rare steak, flank and tendon Also ordered #37 chicken chow mean and #A3 spring rolls. The pho.... it was amazing. The broth was very rich in flavor. The brisket was also very good and soft. For sauces I put their red paste sauce as well as siracha (I love my pho red and spicy!) The spring rolls were also very good, and the chow mein was our favorite! The noodles were so good and had great flavor as well the chicken! I will say, please be patient, it's a small team and they did get busy so did take some time but they were very apologetic. We tried family owned Pho909 for the first time today during our visit to CalPoly Pomona. This location is conveniently near campus. The food selection is wide, we love the interior modern dining design and it's very clean. My Hispanic family and I had such a horrible experience in this restaurant. Our family of 9 came to eat and the server was so rude. We explained we were paying in separate checks and he said we automatically going to get charged 18% gratuity. We said we weren't in one check and a few of us sat in other tables, not together. I ordered the rare steak and brisket pho. The meat was not rare so maybe i just got brisket? The meat was tough and scant, maybe 10 square inch pieces. When it came to the noodles I was still disappointed. They were so densely wrapped together that it was very difficult to wiggle them apart and enjoy. When i would try to pull the noodles up with chopsticks they broke every time so i couldnt enjoy any while they were longer. The broth was fine but a little salty. read more

Came here with my coworkers to check out this location! This used to be PhoX and now is Pho 909 since August of 2024. Menu being almost exactly the same as PhoX, I wasn't expecting anything. I ordered pho as I was craving noodles and it just tasted ordinary. The noodles were a tad better but the soup was super oily. Basil leaves weren't super fresh and I think they gave you less bean sprouts than before. Because the restaurant is still in grand opening, I was able to get free Thai tea and coconut jelly by checking in on Yelp (take advantage of that!) and we also received a 10% off our order.
