Get the spicy miso ramen... phenomenal. I crave it, get it, then go right back to craving it again. So good. The yuzu iced tea was good too! Service is good, staff is friendly, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere is quiet & nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've only ever ordered this place off DoorDash but decided to come in store this time and was happy with my decision. It's pretty close to Mt. Sac and we came in on a weekend around lunch time, and it wasn't busy at all. We got seated immediately and the waiter was able to help us pretty quickly. They do get busy sometimes, but I'd say more so for the delivery or take out orders. I have had mazemen before and this place stacks up pretty well. I love the variety of styles and flavors you can get. I opted for the supreme which had a little bit of everything. When we came, they offered yakitori as well, which I couldn't pass up. The chicken meat balks were pretty tasty. I love the size of the mazemen, super filling and comes with a scoop of rice after that you can mix in to get all the sauce and flavoring. This place is definitely worth it because it's really two meals in one. I always eat the noodles, and then save a bit of noodle and filling for the rice and have a second meal I can take to go with me. Don't forgot to add the vinegar to change up the flavor midway. My husband found this amazing mazesoba restaurant in Walnut and introduced it to me. There are not many restaurants around here that specialize in mazesoba (broth-less sauce ramen), so I was quite excited to check this place out. We had the nonspicy classic mazesoba, which includes minced pork, a poached egg, shredded seaweed, green onion, chives, and garlic. All the various toppings blended very well together. You have to pop the runny egg yolk and mix everything in the bowl to get an extra creamy texture. The toppings combined with the chewy noodles and savory sauce, this was a very delicious dish. In addition, we ordered the nonspicy champion mazesoba, which was recommended to us. It is very similar to the classic mazesoba. The difference is that the champion mazesoba also includes a few pieces of chashu, a marinated egg, and nori. The egg was cooked perfectly, while the chashu was so tender. If you like having a lot of meat in your food, then this is perfect. Something that I really appreciate about this place is that they offer you a small bowl of rice at the end of your meal to soak up any leftover sauce. After eating both the dry noodles plus some rice, we were so stuffed. This was indeed a very fulfilling meal.

San Antonio College in Walnut. And with a solid 400 reviews here on Yelp, many have shared their love for their food. Curious for awhile on Mazesoba, I stopped by to give them a try on a Friday evening around 7:30PM. Walking into the restaurant, all of the tables were full with no open spots in sight. But fortunately there were plenty of spots at the bar and I was seated immediately as a party of one. Looking at the menu, there were a variety of Mazesoba options with different garnishes, meats, and seafood. But for those looking to have something else, Mazesoba Hero also has a selection of ramen. For my first visit, I decided to try their Champion Mazesoba which was $18.59 at the time of the review. Looking at the bowl at first, I wasn't exactly sure of the portion size. For one, the bowl had three pieces of pork belly, minced pork, a poached egg, nori, green onions, and ramen noodles. But upon digging into the dish, I was pleasantly surprised. The amount of ingredients were balanced well in comparison to the noodles. And even after trying to consume all of the food together, I still had some onions and pork leftover. At this point in the meal, a waiter offered me a small bowl of rice to accompany the remaining food. For the close to $19 price tag, this definitely is not a place to come if you're looking for mass quantity of protein. But if you're a person who likes to have balanced meals with curated flavors, the Champion Mazesoba gives the best of different worlds. With the recommendation to add in the chili oil and vinegar, the dish was dynamic to say the least. Beginning with the noodles, the vinegar and chili oil made them slippery and activated a nutty flavor. Combined with the onions and minced pork, the dish became more savory and rich with pork flavor. The nori included a needed crispy part to the dish, and the yolky eggs made the entire dish taste creamy. Of anything in the bowl, I personally enjoyed the pork belly as there was a perfect balance between fat and meat. With a light charred surface, it really made the food taste smokey. For those familiar with ramen, I would highly recommend Mazesoba Hero! With a filling dish for the price, I enjoyed each ingredient together as I did individually. The flavors of the dish were unique and showcased a variety of fresh ingredients. Because of this, I would be happy to return to Mazesoba Hero with a solid four star rating out of five. Great food!
[[HIGHLIGHT]]i came in with my parents on a friday night and was greeted with clean and cool decor !![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]they were not busy at the moment, so i was wondering why ?? since this place is soooo good. however, the crowd soon started coming in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] before that, i called in and the staff was helpful, welcoming any questions. they are always so attentive and enthusiastic. i got the ocean mazesoba, which is my usual, i highly recommend this one !! in the mazesobas, they are super generous with their toppings. additionally, my parents really liked their bowls too. at the end, they give a free scoop of rice. which is really yummy when you mix it in with the leftover toppings after you are done eating all the noods. this is everything you would want in a meal on a friday night !!

i was craving aburasoba and i saw this place so decided to check it out - [[HIGHLIGHT]]the interior was spacious and there were a lot of seatings[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - i got the spicy miso mazemen (4.7/5). the flavor was very strong and spicy which i indeed liked. the pork was tender and the toppings all paired together greatly with the noodles. i also added a bit of their house made chili oil which was on the table but couldn't really taste it since my mazemen was already spicy haha. they do ask if you want rice at the very end to soak in with the sauce but i skipped out on that since i was already feeling full. - the servers were attentive and polite overall, this place satifised my cravings and would love to come back here again.

The complimentary rice was really able to soak up the remaining sauce. The vinegar and oil complemented the noodles really well. Service was excellent. The Ocean Mazesoba is served in a deep bowl with a hefty amount of noodles and ingredients. Its sauce was light, but it kept these noodles continually moist and springy. This light sauce is not too salty, instead sharing a light egg, garlic, savory flavor. Its aftertaste is reminiscent of sprinkled dried seafood seasoning. On top, two plump shrimp tempura rest; its outer layer brings that perfect light crunch. Deep in its bowl, corn kernels and seaweed also share a welcomed flavor contrast. And most impressively, the meal's shredded imitation crab is bountiful and fresh. Together it all creates a deep harmony of flavors and textures. I arrived at Mazesoba Hero (Walnut) on Thursday (around 11:20AM). It's located by the plaza near Mt. San Antonio College. Plaza's parking lot is big but busy. I was seated immediately. As mentioned prior, I ordered the Ocean Mazesoba ($16.99). My server (AJ) is quick and knowledgeable. The food arrived in 12 minutes and 13 seconds. Quick! Mazesoba Hero (Walnut) has decent ambiance. The location is well-ventilated (very chill), and it's very clean. The light upbeat music is very cozy. Unfortunately, the constant buzzing from the drink fridge near the counter is a little bothersome. Despite that, Mazesoba Hero (Walnut) felt very welcoming. And I noticed its clientele included many college students with backpacks. Overall, Mazesoba Hero (Walnut) offered a brilliant, satisfying meal experience. I absolutely adored my noodle dish; its quality, huge-portion, and phenomenal flavors and textures had overflowing me with joy. If you love noodles, I whole heartedly recommend. 5 out of 5

First time I've ever had this dish. Pleasantly surprised. Got the spicy miso and the Champion, also the Yuzu tea. Everything was great. Tea wasn't overly sweetened, and quite pleasant and refreshing. The tea didn't have the bitter yuzu aftertaste that some people don't like. The server turned out to be one of the managers and he was great! Helped us decided and didn't try to upsell us towards anything crazy. I don't forget the rice at the end. Reminds me of a creole pan roast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Location was clean and simple. This restaurant has been sitting in my bookmarks for awhile, so had to finally give them a try. They serve both regular soup ramen and mazesoba. However, I would highly recommend their mazesoba as it is one of few spots that serves such a niche dish. Mazesoba is a dry ramen dish that incorporates garnishes along with meats and sauces topped with a runny soft boiled egg. The waitress was absolutely amazing with her friendliness and patience with my friends and I. The waitress recommended their Chanpion and Saikoro Mazesobas. I opted for the Champion and it sure was absolutely mindblowing with its texture and flavor. This spot will definitely be somewhere I will be returning to. Recommend! Happy that there's finally a mazesoba spot in Walnut! I came on a Thursday night & it wasn't too busy, which was nice. If you've never tried mazesoba before, it's a dry-style ramen that comes without broth. Instead, the flavor comes from a rich sauce made as you mix the noodles with toppings like soft-boiled eggs, minced pork & other toppings. I had the Supreme Mazesoba, which came with marinated pork rib, minced pork, a poached egg & toppings. The noodles were bouncy and chewy, thick, perfect texture. Once mixed, the minced pork & soft egg turned into a creamy-umami savory sauce that clings to every bite. The pork rib was juicy and tender. Also tried the Champion Mazesoba, which included two pieces of chashu, a marinated egg, minced pork. The chashu was incredibly soft and flavorful, and the marinated egg had the perfect jammy center. Everything was so good & my friends and I enjoyed trying everything. We got to try some of their combos which also comes with a free drink as well. The price is definitely affordable to starving students here so that's a plus! I ordered the veggie curry which I really like the flavor and curry sauce but just did not quite get the uncooked tomatoes and white onion in it. Made me wonder what would make them put that on. Perhaps change that to mushroom and spinach instead! Sat at the bar and service was good. After passing by this restaurant many times, my partner and I finally decided to give it a try and boy, we were not disappointed. We came around 8pm and there was no wait time so we were seated immediately. It was relatively quiet for a weekday but it made our dining experience more of an intimate vibe. Our waiter gave us excellent recommendations given that this was our first time there and after placing our orders, the food came in within 13 minutes. The food came out nice and hot and given we were quite hungry, we knocked down our bowls and entrees under 15 minutes. The rib was nice and tender, reminiscent of a Thai BBQ spare rib and the pork belly was super flavorful. The karaage was also nice and crispy too! The noodles were definitely a highlight too as they were soft and paired perfectly with the meat. Okay, why did I wait so long to come here?!?! Restaurant has been here for 4 years! So mazesoba was amaaaaaxing. Basically it's ramen without the broth but the broth can be ordered on the side. The ramen is so flavorful. The meat is very tender. You also get a bowl of rice at the end of your meal to soak up all the juices and flavors. Our server was so helpful and friendly. The restaurant is immaculate and I can see that it could get crowded on a weekend. This is a definite place to visit. I can't wait to come back! read more

We ordered Wonton Hero and Spicy Miso Ramen with Rice. They gave us INSTANT NOODLES, UNCOOKED. They also refused to give us the rice, which we paid extra for. Do not order to go from them. read more
Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got to try it. Sadly, it wasn't as good as expected. Ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, Champion Mazesoba, Karaage, & Takoyaki. The ramen broth was too salty, the mazesoba wasn't as flavorful, and the takoyaki was alright. The best dish was the Karaage with the dipping sauce. We arrived at a good tike when it wasn't too crowded. However, there was a slight wait for our food to arrive. Quick and nice service. There was no AC inside so expect to sweat a lot on a hot day. I was craving mazesoba and this place did not disappoint! Stopped by on a Saturday around noon and there was no wait so we were seated immediately. There are about 8 tables inside and some bar seating. The workers were super friendly and service was great. The waitress who took our order was helpful in explaining their menu and recommending some options. A different waiter kept checking in on us and offered refills on our water often. He even asked about our Thanksgiving/Black Friday (since we came that weekend), which I thought was friendly of him haha. I tried the spicy miso mazesoba which was so delicious and creamy. Mix everything together and you get a bowl that is full of strong and savory flavors. It's not super spicy but it definitely has a kick. The texture of the noodles was thick and chewy. The meat was perfectly tender. The mazesoba did get a bit salty with each bite, but the flavor was still really tasty overall. They offer a small bowl of rice at the end to mix with the leftover sauce. I was stuffed at the end and didn't get the chance to do so, but it still tasted as good when I took my leftovers to go. Super delicious mazeman style ramen! Really flavorful and hearty & they definitely added so many delicious toppings! I really appreciated how the mazeman had two different types of eggs (onsen & soy marinated); I thought this was such a nice touch since you tend not to taste the egg itself & only its creaminess (in onsen eggs) in their ramen! Food was super delicious! The ratio between sauce, meat, and noodles provided a good balance. The food is very filling, usually leaving me with a small portion of leftovers. They provide a small scoop of rice at the end of your meal to soak up the extra sauce. Service was 5/5. The server was very attentive. The karaage and sauce was so delicious. First time trying "brothless ramen" and it didn't disappoint. It was definitely a different flavor profile than I expected. It was packed with so much flavor it took me a while to figure out what was going on and if I liked it or not. The portions here were enough. If you finish and have sauce at the end of the bowl, they give u a bowl of white rice to mix in and enjoy. Overall, I think I'll comeback to try their seafood mazesoba and I'll definitely get that karaage again. read more

I am in love with Mazesoba Hero. Their Mazesoba ranging from $15 is the best. It is home-made, perfect chewiness, and appropriately seasoned. Non overbearing taste. My go to is the Spicy Curry Mazesoba and chicken karaage. Monday-Thursday 11 am-230 pm is their happy hour, and we can choose either ramen or rice (saikoru, classic, or curry) with either broth or can of soda for $11.99. That is a very sweet deal. Service always on point and attentive. Usually it is only one server but she is quick and efficient. The interior decor also simple and cozy. There is a whole wall of Japanese art drawing that my kids love to interpret differently each time they see it. One time I took my dear friend (whose not familiar with different types of Japanese food, and never know about Korean bbq or any type of Asian food culture), and he commented that it was a bit much for his taste.
