I really wanted to try this place since I go to the local bowling alley quite often! $15.99/lb, pay after you finish eating. The set up was super convenient! Everything was tasty and the setup was really efficient. My only complaint is that the vermicelli noodles are all the way at the end of the line, which was a bit inconvenient. I got the miso base and my friend got the mala spicy--both were great. Overall, chill vibes and a solid spot!

I like how for their malatang soup base you can adjust the spiciness. The broth itself is very flavorful to a point where you dont even need to dip your food in other sauces. I wish they had a bit more selection for meat. But other than that it was good. You can add a homemade lemonade for $1.49 which was pretty good as well. Definitely will be back

Solo Hot Pot is a small hidden hot pot place located in Diamond Bar. In the same plaza as the local bowling alley of Oak Tree Lanes. Plenty of parking and this place makes some delicious deep-fried chicken wings with tasty hot pots! This is pretty much a customized hotpot that they say does not contain msg! I love love the tomato broth and you can pick one protein, six varieties of vegetables, and also a carb. Service was good and this place actually tastes good.

Rebecca was our waiter and she was very sweet. The Malatang style is really good! I think sukiyaki broth was a bit too sweet than when I got it before. Overall definitely will come again!

Miso broth is yummy with shrimp and vegetables.

Cute little place with yummy food, and service along with great prices. Had the miso soup and the 1.49 lemonade that was not too sweet. Recommend either solo or with a crowd as this place is laid back with delicious food to boot.

New year, new menu. They now use a self serve/per pound concept

Food is always delicious. Fair warning, their medium spice level is very very spicy. Mild is similar to medium at most other Asian restaurants. As of 2026, they changed to a self serve, by weight concept. For the same price, You definitely get less food now.

Location: Diamond Bar Blvd, inside a quiet strip mall plaza (plenty of parking). South of Temple Ave and North of the 60 freeway off of diamond bar blvd exit. Seating: Around 8-9 tables, good for small groups or solo diners. ‍ Service: Only one staff member working when I went, but she was friendly and attentive. Hotpot Style: a little different from the other solo pot restaurant. Each person gets their own pot. You choose your meats & ingredients, then cook them yourself--no overcooked food, no broth boiling over. I liked this style a lot. Overall: Chill weekday vibe, quiet atmosphere ( not sure if its a slow time or the area is naturally quiet) , and a solid 3.5-4 experience. Great spot if you enjoy solo hotpot without the rush.

My new favorite hot pot spot! I've been here 3 times already and every visit has been consistently amazing. What sets Solo Hot Pot apart is the customization and clean, flavorful broths that don't leave you feeling heavy or overly thirsty. I genuinely appreciate that the soup tastes rich and satisfying without that MSG aftertaste. The ingredient quality is top-notch--everything feels fresh, and I love how thoughtfully they prep the veggies. Like the pumpkin slices: most places leave the tough skin on, but here they remove it so every bite is tender and delicious. That kind of attention to detail really shows. The tomato soup is my go-to--comforting and packed with flavor. I've also tried the tom yum and was shocked by how much it tasted like the real deal from a Thai restaurant. Super bold and tangy, in the best way. Their fried chicken and fried oysters are on point and come out nice and hot! If you love hot pot but want a healthier, fully customizable option, Solo Hot Pot is absolutely worth checking out!

Came here right before our bowling rsvp. We were gonna go to another restaurant, but they kept delaying our place, so we no longer wanted to wait anymore. They have a long list of menu of all the broth, ingredients and condiments to make your own Malatang or hot pot. We were a bit overwhelmed, but we just went with it. They didn't tell us that for shared plate they would charge extra until we saw it ourselves on our bill. The food came out pretty fast and already cooked. So it's like boiling point, kind of, but lighter broth flavor. The interior is cute and they have wood divider between tables.

Ambient quiet Service great Food so so, not impressed. The pot is not deep enough so hard to fit in all the food.

Met my friend here for dinner around 8pm on a Friday. When we got there we got on the waitlist but it didn't look busy, there were at least 6 tables I saw open and no other ppl waiting so it was a little confusing. I'm guessing they were understaffed or didn't have enough ppl working to manage the tables there. It took us about 20 min to get seated so not ideal given the open tables. I like the format of the menu and the options and generally really affordable if you go for the most basic options. It starts at $13.99 for 1 protein + 6 ingredients + 1 starch + 2 condiments. However almost every item that I like cost extra. The sukiyaki broth was an extra $5, items like tofu skin shrimp, spam, tripe and bean curd were like an extra $2-$3 each. And they even upcharge for udon and ramen. I stuck with the most of the basics with the top blade and dashi broth but it can start to add up and you could easily end up spending $30 which is getting close to AYCE prices. Service was also not super attentive and we did not really get refills on water. The interior was clean and generally inviting. I would only come back if I wanted something super simple because the starting price point is really good considering, I just wish they didn't up charge so much for so many little things. $5 extra seems a little steep for a different broth base. The quality was decent and the vegetables were fresh.

The organic miso broth is heaven!

The food was absolutely phenomenal. The service amazing. The price outstanding. The portions incredible. I wish I had found this place sooner, but thanks to Yelp for suggesting Solo Pot in my almost doom scrolling for something for dinner. It was so worth it. Absolutely delicious and so filling, and such a unique dining experience! We will absolutely be coming back to try the other broth option/varieties!! Love the checklist menu ordering!

I came to try this place for the first time with my boyfriend and was initially excited to see on their website that none of their soups contain MSG. The atmosphere was pleasant, and our server was polite and checked in with us throughout the meal. I ordered the tomato soup base, and my boyfriend got the Japanese curry base. Both tasted good, and we appreciated the ability to adjust the spice level when ordering. However, the pricing felt misleading. The menu lists $13.99 for a set that includes 1 protein, 6 ingredients, 1 starch, and 2 condiments, with an additional charge of $2.99-$4.99 for the soup base. At first glance, it seems like a decent deal for hot pot. Unfortunately, many basic items came with extra charges -- including popular ingredients like spam, rice cake, and bean curd, and many more. Even choosing noodles over rice incurred an extra fee. The sauce is served in a small tray, and I finished it in just a couple of bites -- only to find out there's an extra charge for a refill. As for the protein, we chose the "USDA Prime beef," but it was a letdown. The meat seemed old, was difficult to chew, and mostly fat. I tried to finish it but couldn't. Overall, I appreciated the ambiance, the no-MSG soups, and the friendly service. But I wouldn't return due to the excessive upcharges and disappointing meat quality -- especially since the soup and protein are the heart of any hot pot experience.

The AYCE meats and appetizers were solid, and both broths we tried were flavorful. The spicy miso had a nice kick while the mushroom broth was delicious and comforting. They also offer a Cambodian broth that sounded really intriguing. It's shrimp and peanut based, and I already know that's what I'm ordering next time. The self serve bar had a good variety of veggies, seafood, and sauces so you can really customize your meal however you want. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive throughout the entire meal, which always makes a difference during AYCE dining. To top it all off, they included ice cream at the end. The ube and vanilla flavors were the perfect way to finish everything off. My only small ding would be the bathroom, it's not in the best shape. Probably best to use one elsewhere if you can. When you walk in, it's super open and spacious, and honestly for an all-you-can-eat spot, the pricing is SO good. The best part? It's usually never packed and we never wait. Immediate seating + unlimited food? Say less. We came tonight to celebrate my dad's birthday and got seated right away. The service was TOP-NOTCH. Every five minutes (not exaggerating), the servers were checking in asking if we wanted to order more meat. I felt seen. I felt supported. I felt encouraged to eat more. And the best part? They refilled our tom yum & tomato soup, with the exact same soil base! Usually other hotpot spots would refill their normal bone broth, but they literally filled tom yum & tomato, which was amazing There are PLENTY of tables and so many protein options: Vegetarians? Covered -- all kinds of tofu. Seafood lovers? Shrimp, fish, mussels, clams. Meat lovers? You already know. Noodle section + veggie bar (which we bravely avoided to save room for meat). Unlimited rice. And the sauce station? Elite. Hubby and I are very saucy people, and the make-your-own sauce bar is dangerous in the best way. So many ingredients to mix and match -- it's basically a personality test in condiment form. As of February 2026 pricing: * $30.99 cash * $32.23 with card (3% surcharge) * Kids under 40 inches = FREE * 40-50 inches = about $13.99 And the cherry on top? Complimentary ice cream. With refills. Yes, REFILLS. Flavors included vanilla, strawberry, ube, cookies & cream, and rainbow sherbet. We absolutely went back for seconds because we have no self-control. This is definitely our go-to spot for all-you-can-eat hot pot. Great service, great pricing, tons of options, and free ice cream? We're loyal. Happy eats!!

I was very impressed with the quality of the beef tongue and the wagyu, both of which were tender and flavorful, though I found the premium lamb in that same category to be fairly mediocre. I also sampled some items from the Option B tier and thought the youth lamb was quite tasty, although the ribeye ended up being a bit too dry for my liking. I appreciated the self-serve format because it allowed me to customize my meal with a decent variety of vegetables and appetizers like chicken wings, egg rolls, and seaweed salad, all topped off with their included drinks and a sweet jelly for dessert. Unfortunately, my positive impression of the food was dampened by the poor maintenance of the facility, as I struggled to walk across floors that were covered in a thick, dangerous layer of grease. I actually almost slipped and fell while heading to the bathroom, and once I arrived, I found the restroom itself to be quite dirty and neglected. While I enjoyed the meal and the birthday discount, I believe the management needs to address these safety and cleanliness issues to truly match the quality of their premium meat offerings.

Lots of memories with friends, family, and a lot of people who aren't a part of my life now, either sadly or good riddance wise. It's located on the second floor of the business plaza building. The times that I've gone, there hasn't been too much of an issue finding parking. There's layers of spots around the periphery of the plaza. Sometimes there's a wait, but I've never had to wait for too long, even for their lunch or their dinner hours. Many changes have been made since the last time I've been there I'm sure (of course rising prices due to the capitalist hellscape we live in), but it's still the same. Paper pot shabu. Unique and eye catching. Since its inception, I don't think I've seen any other place do it like this. It's like a metal base that gets heated up, a basket exterior gives the shape to the "bowl" and the paper helps hold all of the soup in. I'm sure that it makes for easier clean up, hopefully. My go to has always been the "Spicy Yaki" broth since it both has a decent king and some sweet umami flavor to it. Nothing spicier than Shin Ramyun noodles if that's a good indicator of heat level. Love the little grinding of the sesame seeds at the start for the sesame sauce. It's crazy that I did that at a shabu shabu place first and not a katsu place. Trendsetters. Not sure if they still have it with the new/digital menu, but my friends and I always got the "WOW" add on for an extra $3 and it comes with sausages, dumplings, ramen, fish and rice cake, and kamaboko. With all of this, the mixed veggies, udon, serving of rice, and your protein, it's quite filling. I usually get lamb or beef. To be honest, I've been scared to try this spot because I have heard about how spicy the broth can…read morebe...for years!! Today, my coworkers finally persuaded me to give it a try since the weather is cooler & I feel very silly now. The exterior and interior decor of this place is on point with the bold red and lanterns. It really sets the mood. Service was exceptional during lunch (wasn't too busy). The staff helped change out dirty plates often. Everything was clean. They were helpful in explaining the AYCE menu. The only problem I experienced is how slow the virtual menu was to load and long buffers between each click. At one point it stopped working to reorder so the waitress had to do it manually anyway. We got the half tomato (light spice) and half spicy soup (mild) base and both were really good! I might upgrade to med next time. The meat quality was great, esp the 1 wagyu plate per person that comes with AYCE. Surprisingly the fatty beef was so tender as well. Even the mala beef didn't hurt going in...or out. The bellflower veggie is a must try. Never had this crunchy vegetable before. Love the self serve bar with so many desserts and Chinese chips options.
