My favorite dishes include the Chicken Katsu plate, Chicken Teriyaki Bowls (pork and beef are also good), Spicy Tuna Sushi, and the Fried Gyoza (Chinese pork dumplings). They also have Yakisoba bowls (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, & veggie), tempura, and Udon. Indoor seating is available, but it can fill up fast. Parking can also be tight at times. I had a good breakfast bowl at Jinza Teriyaki. I've always driven by here and finally decided to give it a try. I came here during the breakfast hours so decided to try one this items on the menu. The staff was helpful and gave me time to browse as it was my time. I saw a Loco Moco Bowl on the menu so decided on that. They offer local students from Cal Poly discounts from what I had seen on the window. The set up inside has multiple tables for larger groups of people and a few small ones. I imagine it gets busier towards lunch time. The bowl of Loco Moco Bowl was a generous portion and also came with a side of mac salad. Their version of the Loco Bowl was very unique in a positive way. Instead of the hamburger patty meat it's beef teriyaki style meat and they have tater tots to pair with the rice. An interesting version, but nonetheless hella good! Each bite was packed with flavors and real tasty. The mac salad was fine in my opinion. This place is located in the plaza a behind the Starbucks. It's kind of a hold in the wall, as it looks more like an industrial location than a restaurant site. Jinza has a lot to choose from, from rolls to udon and yakisoba, to the usual teriyaki bowls/plates. They also offer breakfast options that are served until 2:00 pm. They have a breakfast jambalaya bowl which sounds interesting. My son and I got the chicken plate combo with the crunch roll and the Teri chicken burrito. The girl at the counter asked us if we wanted any spicy sauce or white sauce. So we took some home to try. The chicken was good, the crunch roll had mushy rice so it tasted weird. I realized after I got home that we didn't have teriyaki sauce, I think I was supposed to as for a container and fill it with the sauce on the tables. The plate came with a salad and picked veggies. I was not a fan of the white colored dressing on the salad. Not sure what flavor it was supposed to be. I also didn't like the white sauce that we got and didn't know what to use it for even though the girl said it was for "anything". I dipped my chicken in it to try and I feel like it's Kewpie mayo, but I could be wrong. We really like the Teri chicken burrito. It was basically a Teri chicken rice bowl wrapped in a tortilla. I recommend this place. I placed an order on the phone and got there 10 mins after and the service was quick and easy! The food was great for the price. Th beef had a lil sweet taste but with the spicy sauce it was the perfect balance. The rice was really good and cooked to perfection. We made one meal a combo and got mixed tempura. The beef is okay; I'd rather get a double order of the chicken. The plates come with lettuce salad and pickled cabbage. I don't get why reviews for this place are higher than a couple other places nearby. I got a chicken plate, pork/beef combo plate, and spam musubi, it was just ok. Their food has no char whereas the 2 other teriyaki places in their proximity has it. Also the other places in their vicinity give much more meat, this plate was half salad. It's in a tiny little business park behind Starbucks on Temple and Pomona Blvd and if you're not paying attention you can easily pass it! I am very picky when it comes to my chicken because I don't like the skin, any fat or gristle on it. This chicken does not have any of that! It's super tender, juicy and just overall delicious. The rice is always fresh, veggies were perfectly cooked and the Mac salad was delicious! Not pictured was the musubi! It's hard to find good musubi and Jinza's is simple but delicious! We've also tried their chicken plate and chicken supreme salad both which were very good too! I've not had anything so far that I've not liked! Restaurant is very clean even when it's at its busiest. The owner, John is a great guy, but he knows my order. He always tells me, 'I don't know how you eat it like that!' But I love it! Truth be told, there's been a few times where I had to put it down 3/4 of the way, because it got too hot, my nose started running, mouth was on fire, but I came right back to it and polished it off!! It's so good that way! The sales dressing also bomb cools it off. The miso soup, tempura, California rolls are all delicious, but I really tried those because of a girl I was dating at the time. I never stray from my chicken plate, extra, extra, extra, extra spicy! I don't think too too many people order it that way. Even Letty, in kitchen looks up to say hi to me when she hears that order. Not much has changed except the expanded dining area and they have a bunch of drinks available now by the cashier. Looks like they have expanded the menu quite a bit also. There were a lot of items to order but I was craving sushi so I got 5 pieces each of three options. I got the fried spicy tuna, California roll, and the crunch roll. I didn't have to wait long and I took them to go and it was packaged nicely. I think if I were to rate them based on what a good sushi is like, it'd be kind of low because it was kinda dry, the rice didn't seem to be cooked right or use the right seasoning. After coming here for years, the menu has expanded but the quality has stayed the same. From the looks of the outside and the almost hidden location, you probably would not expect this to be so good. Some of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had, that white sauce and the fresh pico just hit. Unfortunately, they moved their opening time from 7 to 9, so we can't go anymore as it is too late for our meal break at that point. My brother recommended me this place and I had to try it. It has been in my rotation for quick cheap eats. The more I go, the more I enjoy the place. The first time, I ended up ordering a chicken bowl but now my go-to order is the chicken bowl with veggies. The chicken is always cooked well and they filled my small box to the rind. The most important thing is their white sauce. Do not leave the store without it. I love their white sauce. Its tastes like a sweet mayo and it give the chicken an extra flavor note. They give like one small container per order. In addition, I like to drizzle some extra teriyaki sauce on my chicken. They tend to put a little bit of the teriyaki sauce between the rice and chicken but not enough for my taste. This is a good idea because everyone has a certain sweet level they want. They do leave a couple of bottles of teriyaki and hot sauce on the side so you can add them to your liking. The best way I tend to eat my bowl is by chopping up the chicken and tossing it all together with the sauce, rice, and veggies. It is so good. I like my chicken bite-sized. Jinza also sells salad, rolls, and appetizers like spam musubi. They do offer combo meals or bowls for a lighter option. Came here several times but today, I decided to order something different. I ended up ordering tacos because of the promotion they were having. Now, these tacos aren't your ordinary tacos but an Asian fusion version. The tacos were flavorful in a way where the juices will drip down your hands right when you pick it up. I would have to say out of the three meat I got, the bulgogi beef stood out to me the most. It had a taste of how it would taste like at a korean bbq place, sweet. There were a ton of greens on top of each tacos and I honestly loved it, but this can be a personal preference whether someone is into greens or not. They do offer additional sauce on top of the tacos, but I feel like it wasn't necessary since there were plenty of flavor. The one thing I didn't really like were the tortillas. Stopped by after reading all the fabulous reviews. It's a small place off the beaten path on the industrial side of walnut. Inside they have seating for about maybe 20. The area where you order is pretty tight and cramped. I ordered a spicy tuna roll, California roll, chicken bowl and a beef teriyaki plate. The chicken bowl came with rice, veggies and chicken teriyaki. The flavor was very tasty and there was a good portion. The beef not so much, it was packed in and there was way too much rice in comparison to the less expensive chicken bowl. In the plate they include two salads one looks like iceberg lettuce and the other cabbage. Neither tasted very good. The beef was cut so small the sauce was overpowering. The California roll was good but the tuna roll tasted fishy. If I find myself in the area I might stop by for a chicken bowl it was good and they offered a good portion and the sauce was just right. Looks like the owner/management of this restaurant has increased the price of their food and we were okay with it considering the recent inflation. But their quality of food has gone down a lot which is not acceptable. Our food was served with White Sauce. The taste of Chicken and Beef Combo was below average, salad didn't look fresh, and the White Sauce tasted like Condensed Milk. It's really disappointing to see the downgrade of this place.
