When I see a cute and/or interesting biz name, I can't help myself, but to check them out. Pho Bro got my attention. I'm not sure if "Bro" stands for brother or broth. I'll have to ask them the next time I return. It is located in the Canyon Point Marketplace in Rowland Heights. It was in the late afternoon. I walked in and there was one table occupied. It's a very spacious pho place. Very clean and comfortable. Long, the owner, was very humble and hospitable. I had a nice conversation with him while I was waiting for my order. Thank you Long. I got 3 items to-go... here's our take on them. 1. Pho Ga (Chicken) - OMG, chicken broth was the B*MB! Very light and not oily... just simple clean and flavorful broth. Lots of shredded chicken that wasn't dry... quite moist. Fresh onions and herbs. Tons and I mean tons of rice noodles. I'm getting this again! 2. Pho Tai (Rare Steak) with tendon - My daughter ate this. She said it was very very delicious. Broth was amazingly savory. Tons of rare steak slices. Tendon was good. Fresh veggies. Lots of rice noodles. Another must get! 3. Shrimp Egg Rolls - These were tasty. Shrimps were good size shrimps. Wonton skin was perfectly fried and crispy. Delish! I would get this again, too. When the order is ready, I go direct back my home in Pomona. When I open it, it is shrimp pho. I hate it. When I call the restaurant, the lady said I point it on the wrong item. I am sure I point it correctly. I don't how she can repeat my order but said I order wrong. She asks me to come back for exchange. I will not take another 50 mins to come back and forth. i came here yesterday around 9 p.m. and was greeted so kindly by the employees! the service was amazing -- everyone was super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. the restaurant was very clean and had a nice atmosphere. i ordered the pho steak with tea and egg rolls, and oh my goodness, it was so good! the broth was rich and flavorful, the meat was soft and tender, and the egg rolls had a great variety of ingredients inside with the perfect crisp. the sauce paired perfectly with everything too. the tea was delicious -- not too sweet, just right. this was my first time here and i was honestly beyond happy with my experience. everything from the food to the service exceeded my expectations. i even tipped over 25% because it was that good! definitely recommend and will be coming back soon read more

Too bad we went on a Friday during lent and we couldn't eat pork/try their egg rolls! But we ordered Pho seafood and Pho vegetables. At first we thought there was a mix up with our order because they first served a large bowl with broth and some veggies in it and then served with a plate of leafy greens and then we asked about it, good thing our server was kind enough to teach us that the leafy greens goes with the broth and we mix it together and my order of Pho seafood is still being prepared. The taste of both pho is truly exceptional, will definitely come back and order the same one again or try a new one and by then I would be able to order their egg roll, hopefully! Nice and chill spot to go for a lunch break. I've come here a few times and there staff here are really nice. Usually, just find an open seat when you walk in. The food is here is good I personally like the Vermicelli bowls when I would come eat for lunch. Be wary!! Their bún vermicelli with grilled beef (B2) is a HOT dish, not a cold vermicelli dish. Also the beef is not technically "grilled" as you would expect it to be. More like stir fried. The vermicelli came out piping hot and was very soggy. Their pho broth is lacking depth of flavor and is extremely oily (see picture). Tastes nothing like a good pho broth you would expect, just get mouthful of oil with every bite. It was noticeably sweet too. Their beef balls however are pretty good. Cheap prices compared to other local pho places but I don't think it's worth it. Wouldn't come back. read more

We stumbled upon Pho Bro in a strip mall and decided to try it. There was only one waitress on a Sunday afternoon, but she did well in taking orders and delivering food in a timely manner. There are plenty of tables that can accommodate even groups of 8-10. My husband appreciated the size of the pho and said it was pretty good. Nothing to beware of or get super excited about. The grilled pork banh my sandwich was super tasty. I was thankful the waitress suggested the grilled pork instead of the grilled beef. I have been here few times since 2023 I moved to Walnut. The staffs are very friendly every time I came here and they remembered me after I came here first time that made me feel so happy. Good pho spot that we found on Yelp after a long day! Our server was very patient with us having 12 people in our group. We all ordered in a timely manner and got our food really quick! I ordered the Vietnamese coffee, spring rolls and a large bowl of pho with rare steak. Fortunately we were able to pay separately with our big group, so that was an easier way to split the bill. The spring rolls were good, I noticed it was just shrimp for the main meat inside the roll. The sauce was a little liquidy for my own preference. The Vietnamese Coffee with Milk was good, a little bit more on the sweeter side so coffee lovers don't be too surprised. The pho broth was good, the meat seemed like it was scrunched up and easily torn apart. They provide disposable chopsticks and have the standard sriracha and hoisin sauce. I'm writing my review while eating my Pho Bowl I got to go. It felt like soupy weather and wasn't in the mood for a hearty soup or calling somewhere to see what soup of the day the were offering. I looked on Yelp and fund Pho Bro and they sounded good. I like how they had the broth, noodles and onions and veggies all packaged separately like requested so I can combine to my liking. I did notice the broth felt a little greasy and I wish I was given more lemon and sauces, that made it lack a little bit, but my bowl was still good and I feel the portion is really good. I got full off of half and will have the rest later. The lady who took my order was very nice and it was ready pretty quick. I got option 2 with rare steak. I'm so sad....I used order from Pho Bro every other week during the pandemic, but ever since they changed management around Dec 2020, the quality has gone down, and the flavors taste off to me. On our last visit, we made our usual order in the hopes that the food quality remained intact: Pho ga and egg rolls. PHO GA: the chicken broth here used to be clean and balanced in flavor. Now it is noticeably oily, too sweet for my taste, and has some added spices that were confusing to my palate. I wont go so far as to say that it was "bad" as I think it depends on preference, but to me, I probably wouldn't order pho ga from here anymore, knowing what I like before. Disappointing bc this was one of their stronger dishes and one I would order frequently. Everyone in our household immediately tasted the difference too, and even asked if we ordered from a new restaurant. CHA GIO (eggrolls): MAJOR disappointment. The eggrolls are awful now, super greasy (as in pools of oil were sitting in the container, and trapped between the layers of the fried roll). There is also less filling now it seems. Oh and the lettuce they provide for wrapping were just tiny end pieces -- nowhere near adequate for wrapping. The execution and attention to detail was sorely missing here, which sucks because the eggrolls here were actually pretty good before. The one thing that I like about their menu is that you can order extras of things like broth, noodles, toppings, etc. It's convenient for customizing your meal to your needs. Our household finds that two orders of pho and one extra order of broth gives us the right amount of noodles, toppings, and broth to feed everyone. We called in our order, and had to repeat quite a few times because I don't think the employee on the phone really spoke English. Language barrier is not really an issue to me as long as the food is made correctly, but unfortunately some items were missing when we picked it up a result of the communication barrier, which required more time to correct. So I recommend double checking your order for accuracy. Other dishes I've ordered from here prior to the management change: Bun Bo Hue (which was ok, not the best), and regular beef pho (sweeter broth, but not bad). I haven't tried this dishes again yet since the change, but if I do, I will update this review accordingly. Parking: plenty of parking in the plaza read more

They give a pretty good portion for the price you pay. They aren't stingy with the meat and the noodles come out perfectly cooked. The broth is not too salty either. I always get their dac biet and Thai iced tea. Perfect combo. The man who's always there is also very very nice! I don't know why this place isn't more poppin'. What I ate: - Egg rolls: There's really nothing to complain about egg rolls right? Came with the expected lettuce and shredded carrots so you could make lettuce wraps. Crispy and hot. - Spring rolls: Okay, so while these tasted okay, they were kind of a mess. Who put these together? The rice paper wrapper was so loosely placed, it barely kept anything together after you took one bite from the spring rolls. The only thing I appreciated was that they wrapped them in saran wrap so they wouldn't dry out (I got these as takeout) Pros: - Staff friendly: Very courteous and friendly, offering me a glass of water while I waited for my food to be made (I got my order to go) - Clean modern space: I remember what the previous restaurant in the same space was like, and they totally changed and revamped the inside. It's much more clean and open now, with a few large screen TVs for the lone diner to watch something. Lots of space for large and small parties, and booths lining one wall Cons: - Parking lot can be a nightmare. Asian parking lots can be a nightmare. Pho Bro is right by our house and just replaced another Vietnamese restaurant a few months ago. So we didn't have high expectations going in as it seems this particular location has a hard time keeping business open. But we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and my hubby got the Number 1 special. Both were tasty with flavorful broth and good meat & noodles. But we did notice some areas that could use improvement. We love adding chili oil to our pho broth and they offer store bought chili oil. I think that an authentic Vietnamese restaurant generally offers homemade chili oil so we did mention it to the staff and they actually said they are working on it which is great! The second is the service; we found that the staff could have been more attentive as we had to keep calling on them when we wanted to ask for a few things. So if these two things were improved on, we could definitely see ourselves coming back here. Hands down one of the best new pho restaurants in the (909) area. Although they're mainly know for their fresh noodle pho with their perfectly balanced and delicious broth, their other menu items are done very nicely well.
