Tried Little Skewer for the first time and it definitely lived up to the hype. The skewers were freshly grilled, well-seasoned, and had that smoky charcoal flavor. Loveee the chicken skin! We also ordered the cucumber salad (highly recommended!), grilled garlic chives, and kaolengmian, which were all surprisingly good and helped balance out the heavier meats. I've been to quite a few skewer places in the past year and this is definitely one of my favorites now! It is so well priced and a perfect vibe for some drinks and skewers with friends. We were seated fairly quickly and ordered off of a tablet which was nice and simple. For food we started with the garlic enoki mushrooms. They were packed with so much flavor and had a nice kick to it! We also got the beef, pork belly, squid legs, and chicken skin skewers. All were delicious and well seasoned. The quantity they sell them in is high, but the meat pieces are pretty small so it makes sense. This location is tucked in a small plaza in Diamond Bar and has an old school interior reminding me of old Chinese dramas. We arrived right when they opened for lunch and were seated immediately. We ordered our food through the tablet which was quick and convenient. POPCORN CHICKEN ($13.99) - this was pricier than I'm used to but the portion size was also bigger. It was crispy and I couldn't tell if there was spice or not or if it was just lingering from the other dishes. 4/5 KUNG FU CORN ($7.59) - this was slightly spicy but it was not crunchy like I'd normally expect. It had a chewy texture which I wasn't the biggest fan of. 3/5 POTATO TORNADO ($5.59) - the potato was crispy and I liked the chili powder. 4/5 GRILLED SCALLOPS ($7.58 for 2) - this reminded me of dishes you'd see at Chinese banquets between the noodles and the flavor. The sauce was garlicky and this was one of our favorite things. 5/5 LAMB ($10.49) / PREMIUM MARBLED BEEF ($9.99) - these were good. 4/5 CHICKEN SKIN ($7.99) - these were crispy, sweet, and spicy. It reminded me of chicharron but sweet. BUS . I tried this restaurant up in NorCal in Fremont and was excited to see they had locations in SoCal! This place Isnt your tradition skewer place in the sense that you don't grill it, but everything is already cooked for you. All the skewers are so yummy and they all taste very different. I am a big fan of lamb, so was ecstatic when I saw that each order of lamb skewers came with 20. They're not large pieces of meat, but got the job done being decently moist with a nice layer of cumin and spicy seasoning. The gold almost florescent broth has an interesting sour kick, almost like pickled veggies. Soup was a nice contrast to the meaty skewers and came with a variety of hot pot favorites like fish cake, imitation crab, napa cabbage, wood ear mushroom, vermicelli, and thinly sliced meat. Also when they see that you are running low on broth, they will pour some more in. This was especially helpful because they serve this over a fire which can evaporate alot of the soup. Wow, this one is much better looking than the one in Hacienda Heights. Feels like you walk into a Chinese restaurant you see from Kung Fu movies. The decor is breath taking. Loved the decors. You order the foods from their iPad tablet. Ordering is very simple, see what you like, just add to your order. Suggestion, do not order everything at once, order a few items, submit it. They will bring them out shortly. Once you are about done with the current foods, order more items, this way, your foods come out fresh and hot. If you order everything at once, the foods will sit there and gets cold. The warmer thing doesn't keep the food hot. I like my water cold. The water from the kettle is not cold at all. Ask them to add ice if you prefer your water cold. We ordered the followings: - Tornado Potato (so good, one of our favorites here) - Butter Pancake (it was ok, kinda bland) - Grilled Egg Crepe (didn't like it so much) - Steaky Lamb (very good) - Premium Marbled Beef Skewers (oh, so tasty and yummy, another favorite) - Beef Aorta (was interesting, didn't know it was artery, not bad though) - Lamb Skewers (this was really good, it came with 20 skewers) Oh, forgot to mention, when we were there, we saw they had a Karaoke area. Came here for an early dinner at 5:30pm, it does get pretty full towards 6pm! The restaurant is a tad small, but the interior and decor here takes you to another world. Honestly the overall meal was okay, but the most annoying part were the beef skewers. The beef portions were very small, and they stick to the skewer stick. We were surprised that there were Chinese table top games and other board games to keep you busy while we waited.
