Fengmu is what I had for dinner at a new spot named Fengmu that sells Chinese-style skewers. Each table has a skewer cooker on it, and you let the meat cook on it. The only thing I would say is that I wish they used charcoal to cook it so the meat would taste better. The meat itself was nice and actually pretty good. They also sell soju here as well so if you want to have some alcohol, then this could also b a spot for you.

Just tried this newly opened Korean-Chinese style BBQ spot in Rowland Heights, and I heard they specialize in Yanbian-style skewers. The place is seriously popular We had to wait during peak hours, and you could hear Korean and Chinese/Korean conversations all around the restaurant, which really added to the atmosphere. They offer much more than just skewers -- there's grilled fish, chicken wings, lots of side dishes, cheesy baked sweet potato, grilled bananas, grilled mushrooms, Yanji cold noodles, and lamb dumplings. All the skewers are freshly made in-house. You can actually see the staff skewering meat in the open kitchen area. Some items are pre-marinated and super flavorful. My favorites were the lamb skewers, pineapple beef, beef tongue, and chicken cartilage The rotating self-BBQ setup makes the whole experience more fun, and it's much harder to accidentally burn the skewers. Definitely a unique and enjoyable dining experience. I also noticed the tables and seats were designed very thoughtfully and comfortably for customers.

Wasn't busy when we went since they recently just opened but the food was really good. Inside is nice, clean and modern. Their seasoning is really flavorful and love they have custom packaging. Meat quality was good and had a nice selection of variety. Chives and eggplant were so garlicky and delicious. Cold noodles and the cold vinegary broth was great to balance out all the meat. They also had a good selection of alcohol with sake and soju.

The foods actually really good, I like how they give the spice packets separately so you could dump a bunch out on your plate and dip unlike the places who do shaker for the spices. The service was pretty good everyone was inviting and there was no issues when we had to split the bill in half. The ambiance is nice, pretty clean and a big space so I wouldn't expect needing to wait to sit. I also like the conveyer that automatically flips the skewers so it cooks evenly. Overall I think nearby this area it's one of the better places for skewers and I would say I think it's even better than chubby skewers

RIP Wudi Kebob, but more importantly RIP Pirate Seafood. I featured that place in my panel and the presentation and amount of food was just too good. Alas truly the passage of time and the real world of capitalism we live in. My friends and I wanted to find light eats later at night and unfortunately, Chubby Skewer was way too fisted (even when it was a Thursday night), so Yelp recommended us Fengmu. It's located in the plaza where the 99 Cents used to be, so there is plenty of parking, especially at the later hour that we came at. When we got there, a party was leaving and I think maybe another group came later, but we mostly had the entire restaurant to ourselves. We had to quickly flag down a staff to be seated, but everything else was quite efficient from bringing out the banchan (beansprouts, pickled jalapenos and radishes, and some broccoli and carrots). All seasoning comes out in packages which is what they do in China according to my friend. Neat and sanitary and you can take home the leftovers. You scan the QR code to order and the server brings the food to your table. There's a hole in the table for you to drop your skewers in and the top grill for skewers will actually move and rotate the skewers through the gear on the skewer stick. You can adjust heat and when it's all cooked, you can place it on top of the "rack" so the oil can drip down or if you need it to cool down a bit. Caution though, the buttons get really hot too! Menu is an interesting mix of Korean and Chinese dish, so it's neat to see the influence of both. For our late night snacking dinner, we got the: corn cheese and enoki mushrooms (pre cooked and heated up in aluminum containers), and the 4 piece lamb skewers and the 4 piece "pork snowflake meat" skewers. Not sure what it was, but it was like a pork belly skewer when we got it. The spicy seasoning has a pretty yummy kick to it and everything was seasoned nicely and delicious. I just wish there was a way with their grill system to keep some of the already cooked food warm. The mayo with the corn cheese tasted great and you can never go wrong with this dish (again, wished that there was a way to keep it warm so the cheese was still melty). It was around $40 for this. It's not bad, a bit pricy, but it was filling since we had eaten earlier. I don't mind coming back to try more of their menu. I do like the high end look of the restaurant and the orange coloring versus the blue lighting from the other past businesses.

Brand new skewer place that has the meats cooking on a rotating grill on metal skewers. The restaurant design is modern and very clean. There are circles on the table for you to discard used skewers and they fall into a bucket under the table. The meats aren't marinated unless stated otherwise so you do need to use the sauce or powder packets to add flavor. I mixed the orange and green one together. Cold noodles was perfectly made, my only complaint is the small amount of noodles. A good two slurps and you're out of noodle. I wish I could have ordered extra noodle because everything else about this dish is on point. The skewers themselves are average. Lower star because the meat are very small and for the price of each skewer, I expected bigger pieces of meat. If you come here super hungry, the cost will add up quickly. There are many other skewer places around the area at the same price point that gives larger portions. Service was great. There is potential there. Just need to balance the amount of food per price.

Really enjoyed this new skewer spot in Rowland Heights. One thing I liked is that the meat is freshly skewered and grilled in front of you, so you can actually see the quality instead of getting pre-fried skewers. The lamb skewers were juicy and flavorful, the grilled fish was surprisingly good, and the cold noodles were super refreshing. The place is clean, modern, and great for hanging out with friends late at night. Definitely coming back.

Great spot for late-night eats in Rowland Heights! The self-rotating grill at each table makes the experience fun and convenient, and the skewers come out perfectly hot every time. We also enjoyed the noodles and side dishes, which were just as impressive as the BBQ. The portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is great for gathering with family or friends. Will definitely be back!

One of the most unique type of skewers! Their beef and lamp skewers are the freshest in town and very tasty and juicy! Loved their cold noodles and portion! A must order is their honey chicken wings mixed with skewer sauce! Their service is great too!

Amazing food and great atmosphere! The handmade skewers are fresh and flavorful. We ordered lamb skewers, beef steak skewers, pineapple beef skewers, chicken cartilage, green pepper tilapia, Korean rice cakes, and cheese sweet potato. Everything was well presented and delicious. Perfect place for friends and family gatherings. Will definitely come back!

FENGMU was such a fun place to try! I came here for dinner and really enjoyed the self-grill skewer experience. It makes the meal feel more interactive, especially if you're eating with friends. The skewers were well seasoned, and I loved the smoky flavor once they started to char on the grill.

Fresh meat, freshly skewered, and the perfect place to catch a World Cup game! Great food, great energy, and awesome late-night spot in Rowland Heights. Highly recommend!

Great food and a fun dining experience! The rotating grill cooks the skewers evenly, and every skewer was juicy and flavorful. The cold noodles were refreshing and paired perfectly with the grilled meat. Fresh ingredients, good portions, and friendly service. Definitely coming back!

We waited nearly 2 hours for our table, but time went by quickly because my boyfriend and I played free video games the entire time! Unfortunately, we were not aware that we would have limited time to eat. Instead of 1 1/2 hours, we only had 45 minutes because last call was 9:30. We did feel rushed and were told by someone we would be given extra time, but we were not. Our waiter said the person who seated us was wrong. We still paid full price, which really didn't sit well with me since we weren't able to take our time to choose what we wanted to eat. Instead, we had to rush to order and got full quickly. Why didn't the hostess let us know when we arrived? For $85 a person, I would have gone somewhere else and come back another time to enjoy myself, not feel rushed and made to feel like I was eating desserts and side items that had been out all day. We didn't get to try the Wagyu burgers since there weren't any. Just empty trays. Four or five pieces of dessert to choose from. Not four or five types, just five left. I guess if you go later, they do not put any additional food out. Pretty disappointing, especially with the high cost. Our server, Kenzie, was very friendly and definitely made our night better. The restaurant has a very cool vibe and plays music loud, but not to where it's annoying. I recommend it; just go early.

Thanks Austin for the excellent service! Everything was delicious. Will return soon!!read more

The prices are a tad high, but we live now in 2026, so I have to realize that inflation from the past quarter century or longer has impacted the perception that a plate of Chow Mein or bowl of Won Ton costs more than the $3.95 of the 1980's and more than the $5.95-$8.95 of the 1990's and even more than the $10-12 of the early Y2K... so paying in the realm of $15-20 per entree I guess should be expected in 2026. The portions were good on the chow mein. The won ton soup (no noodles) came with 8 pieces of Won Ton which is average. I added roast duck but got the worst luck of the draw with the drumstick quarter (the best is the "breast" portion quarter) which comprised of a small piece chopped into 4 pieces that was lacking meat (skin and bones!!) and in hindsight, I should have skipped the duck or ordered a side dish of duck a la carte separate. The "To Go" was an interesting experience, as I ordered a 1/2 pound of Roast Pork (Siu Yuk) and true to Chinese butcher shop tradition, I should have said "I want $10 of Roast Pork" than what I said, which was "I want 1/2 pound of Roast Pork" as my mom told me whenever you order by weight, they tend to go way over that mark and assume it's okay, so what should have been $11 ended up being $18 and more like 3/4 pound than 1/2 pound so my own oblivious ignorance caused a 50% upsell. The biggest or oddest aspect was, for $18, the portion of what 3/4 lbs (12 oz) is, isn't that much. When you factor in the fat content and weight of the fat, there's not that much meat, and the "cracklin' skin" was good where it was, but was absent from portions of the serving, so I'd say I was disappointed overall in this. I think the rate was about $22/lb, which again in 2026 might make sense to be competitive FMV fair market value, but growing up in the 1990's as a consumer, seems too high to the good 'ol days of 30-40 years ago... again, nobody's fault by misguided perception by folks who are 50-60+ years old in 2026. I'd come back here, but would order differently.

The store itself is nothing fancy, very no-frills. Prices are very reasonable, which is the main draw here. The dishes no longer have that proper wok hei flavor, and the food tasted bad on my recent visit. What made the experience even worse was the service. The staff were rude, dismissive, and acted annoyed that customers were even there. One of the girls, the one with the ponytail, was especially rude and needs to learn basic manners. Another staff member was also unfriendly and gave attitude the entire time. I also did not appreciate being pressured about tipping. A tip should be optional and based on good service. If the service is poor, customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable or confronted over it. On top of that, they add extra charges when using a credit card, including a fee if you spend under $30. That already feels frustrating, but the bigger issue is the attitude and poor treatment from staff. Customers are the reason businesses stay open. No one is asking to be treated like royalty, but people come in to enjoy a meal and should at least be treated with basic respect. If I am going to be ignored, rushed, and given attitude, I would rather stay home and eat in front of my TV. I will not be coming back .. food quality and customer service Nate major improve.

The thin sliced beef and rib finger were decent for an AYCE spot--nothing extraordinary, but satisfying. The pork belly was flavorful and nicely fatty, which made it great on the grill. For side dishes, they offer a good selection including steamed egg, tofu soup, miso soup, ramen, salad, and kimchi. The steamed egg was soft and comforting, and the tofu soup had good flavor, which added to the overall meal. The restaurant environment is simple but comfortable, with spacious seating and clean grills. Service was reasonably attentive and refills of meat came at a decent pace. Considering the current Korean BBQ prices in the LA area, $34.99 for the Premium AYCE feels like a fair mid-range option. You get a lot of variety including seafood and multiple cuts of meat. That said, if you are looking for top-tier meat quality, this place may feel more average. Overall: a good spot for casual gatherings with friends when you want to enjoy plenty of grilled meat without spending too much.
