Honestly didn't expect the meat and banchan to be this good for the price. We tried the $22.99 lunch menu and it was definitely worth it. We also added the steamed egg and kimchi soup (my favorite...usually ayce restaurants don't make it well) for a little extra and both were super solid. Came here recently and had a really good experience. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal, always checking in and changing the grill when needed. My friends and I went to this kbbq place and were pleasantly surprised....at first. We were approached the waiter/manager (I don't what he is) Q who offered us a pitcher if we posted pictures and gave the restaurant a 5 star review. We weren't in the mood for a pitcher given it was literally the middle of the day and we asked for cokes instead. He agreed and it took 25 minutes....for soda that didn't even require preparation, it came in a CAN! I was mortified by the wait for a can soda. To make matters worse, we got the check and he charged us for it! The audacity! We are strong women who make our money and most paid for canned cokes and left. When we got to the door he said, "I hope you enjoyed the cokes", literally, who does that!?!? Offered us a free pitcher, agreed to coke, charged us for it and rubbed it in our faces. The positive 5 star reviews are a scam and only written after a bribe from someone at the restaurant. The reviews are likely written by people who's pitcher have never arrived or had to pay for it. I just say, be prepared for false promises. Came back again! It was Sunday and for lunch we wanted something meaty but not too expensive so I remembered this place had a special menu until 4pm for $20, now it's $22.99 and much has changed. We got to choose where to sit and we chose the booth again. They had plenty of seating when we came in and the place doesn't seem any different from last time. The window walls can be hard to see since the sun sets and the rays can burn your eyes! The first order we asked was brisket be beef belly while we got up to grab the rest. Good foods were the fish cake (peppery!), marinated pork belly, bulgogi, beef belly slices, corn cheese, radish wraps, miso soup, and marinated pork steak. The ones we could've gone without was the regular pork belly (tough), pumpkin (hard to chew), and brisket (lean and chewy). The available appetizers were limited as well so we focused on meat more!! I did see some of the stuff sort of the hot food items sitting for a while without it being replenished while it was low. So that was a bit of a bummer, but maybe they knew it wasn't going to be that busy and didn't want to waste food? Service was good! After 30 minutes of waiting when it said only 8-10 minutes, we went in to check and noticed people who barely came that was only about to put there name on the iPad yelp waitlist was seated almost immediately before us. I love, love, looove beef belly, so we got lots of that and it was so yummy, perfectly fatty and tasty! We also got the spicy beef belly which was good too, and brisket which wasn't too bad. I like how at the bar, you can get self-serve meats as well as getting your own rice paper. Last Monday with my immediate family (party of 5) and yesterday on Easter Sunday for lunch with my extended family (party of 21) Food: great selection, fresh and good quality especially for the price. Gui Gui 9292 is such a cute play on words (Gui = 92 = grill)... definitely had to stop by and try this for a friend's birthday! We had their B menu; can you blame us for the kalbi temptations? We also had two sojus to complete the meal. For starters, what distinguishes Gui Gui from other spots is that some of the sides can be refilled on your own, including sauces. Some meats (esp pork) and appetizers (egg rolls, fries, radish paper, rice paper, etc.) are also self-service. While this streamlines the dining experience, I've also noticed slower service and some difficulty in getting some orders. (Had to repeat for re-ordering panchan sides and steamed egg.) The meat was decent quality. While I didn't like the brisket as much, I highly recommend their LA galbi and beef belly, those were definitely a hit for me. The steamed egg, though, was definitely way too salty and unenjoyable.
