    Grilled Oysters

Un-gatekeeping another good skewer place in Rowland Heights. Everyone goes to Little Skewer but I honestly think Lao Yan BBQ is better. The meat comes in bigger pieces and it's so tender. They don't lie about their spice either so only go for medium if you love spicy food. Mild is more than enough. I recommend ordering the Dongbei cold noodles on the side to refresh your palette. I would tell you my favorite skewers but I genuinely loved them all. If you're curious, this is what we ordered: beef tendon, house special lamb skewers, grilled chicken skin, chicken crispy bones, lamb skewers, beef skewers, grilled squid tentacles, grilled oysters, grilled king oyster mushrooms, and grilled steamed buns. We also got enoki mushrooms and special malatang on the side to share in addition to the skewers and it was super flavorful. The food came out in batches and the worker seemed kind of nonchalant but I didn't mind since the food was good.

Really like how chill this spot it! They open until 12 and sometimes have a bogo beer deal that is too good to pass up! The only thing is sometimes they run out of ingredients for certain skewers so we had to order other things to replace. The gizzard and lamb skewers are pretty good, but the malatang really surprised me! I really like the flavor and it actually has a little mala flavor because of the peppercorn so if you like that I recommend!

Service is excellent, environment is a cool and food is excellent. This is a must try place.

I dined here with my nephew and we ended up loving this place. This restaurant is located in Rowland Heights and let me tell you that it's worth the drive. We ordered a bunch of things such as fresh tofu skewers, beef skewers, lamb skewers, eggplant, potatoes, scallops, sausage fried rice and yunan noodles. The skewers were absolutely delicious! They were perfectly seasoned and grilled, and packed with lots of flavors. Equally delicious were the eggplant, potatoes and scallops. We ate them with the sausage fried rice. We got so full that we ended up having the noodles to go. Place is clean with lots of seating. Service was fast. We were served by a friendly lady named Tiffany who answered our questions regarding the menu.

Huge fan of skewers and glad to find a place with freshly grilled lamb skewers that's not at a night market. Tuesday-Thursday lamb skewers are BOGO. They cook it in the back and we keep them warm under a wax candle on the table. Good seasoning & spicy & authentic. I also liked the fatty beef fried rice. A little sweet flavor and small chunks of grilled beef. I'd recommend the beef fried rice over the yunnan friend noodles, it wasn't anything special. I'd come back for their food but their service was nonexistent. They speak little English here & the server didn't seem to want to help us. But ordering and getting utensils are all self service, little interaction is necessary.

    No Soap, just Hand Sanitizer

I don't know how cheap any restaurant can be to not have soap in their bathroom. It was stocked with HAND SANITIZER as soap in both men and women restrooms. I'm comparing this to GAO's Crab down the street too which has skewers and more and their food, vibes and service were way better. Food was OK. They didn't have Stinky Tofu, Wontons, kids meal like GAO's. Fried rice was good though and seasoning on skewers were decent. Beef skewers got a little hard after a while. Only good thing were cheaper oysters and scallops compared to GAO's.

Found this hidden gem at 8:30 pm because chubby skewers line was way beyond our expectations lol. Glad that we looked around and found this new place because they taste good and not too smelly because they cooked all the skewers in the kitchen. Located in one of busiest Colima plazas, this store was at a location where it used to be Mr Bossam's. Their seasoning is awesome, they don't have extra seasoning like other places, which is pros and cons because too much is not good for you either lol. Food came out quick but you have to be make sure if you order a lot, they don't really say which one is which. Old school Chinese pop songs were played, which I like. I like their ordering system because everyone just scan the QR code and online order it to our table. Parking could be very competitive because this plaza is always busy.

The skewers and the food here are all amazing ,I came at the night time and the lady was pretty nice, also gave a gift for my kid, definitely will come back for another day

We recently tried this spot in Rowland Heights, and they had such a huge variety of bbq skewers we went a little overboard with our order Not only do they have bbq, they have several other dishes that compliment the grilled items perfectly. We tried: BBQ - Leeks, oyster mushroom, potato, tofu skin w/ veggies, house special lamb, chicken wings, beef, king of kings sausage, pork belly, and enchanting giant squid We got everything medium spicy for a nice kick Non BBQ Dongbei Cold Noodles Yunnan Fried Rice Noodles Cucumber Dipping Sauce Shenyang Cauliflower We took some risks because we didn't know what some items were on the menu, but we loved everything we got. The cucumber dipping sauce turned out to be cucumber sticks served with a miso-type fermented sauce for dipping and it was so tasty. Help me out if I'm wrong, but maybe the Shenyang Cauliflower is mislabeled on the ordering system? I don't think there was any cauliflower in there, and the picture was a plate of veggies. It looked good and what came out matched the photo - variety of pickled spicy cucumber, daikon, and carrots kind of like kimchi. So refreshing! Definitely get some noodles here - the cold noodles offset the heat from the bbq nicely. The Yunnan noodles look quite simple but really pack a surprising amount of flavor.

We ended up here because we were walking around the Yes Plaza looking to try something new. We saw it was their soft opening so thought we'd try it. There were no promotions for the soft opening. Skewers were seasoned well and we really enjoyed the tendon skewer! The service was very much "figure it out yourself". The skewers are actually cooked when they come out so the display just has two tea light candles underneath. I wish the display was more useful and kept the skewers hot. The interior is still the previous restaurant's design and they even use the chopsticks and plates. With all of the delicious skewer places in RH, we won't be back.

We were greeted by a cute kid. He told us his grandfather owned the business and that he's happy to help out & translate for his family. Already, points for raising a good son. Anyways, we got mushroom skewers, grilled leeks, oysters, pork and beef skewers. All were grilled to perfection and nicely seasoned. If you're looking for spice, this place will definitely deliver. Would come again for the great and quick service and good food. I hope this business flourishes!

I unfortunately do not understand meat doneness. It's also a pretty hip environment with k pop playing in the background. The mala and marinated flavors of beef and lamb are all delicious. Prices are not outrageous either. I guess the one down side is, I'm sure your blood pressure gonna shoot up. This is not an everyday meal, more of an indulgent carnal carnivorous dream you have with your homie or mother in my case, while drinking a pitcher of beer. Definitely don't get your lipid panel checked afterwards. I'd say wait a week or two. I'd recommend also getting the cucumbers and spicy pig ear appetizers. Trust me. You need a little veggies in your life and the pig ears provide just enough acid for you to keep shoveling meat in your mouth you pig (not you, me looking in the mirror). This place is great

The store itself is nothing fancy, very no-frills. Prices are very reasonable, which is the main draw here. One thing to note: rice or noodles are not included with your selections unless you order them separately or choose them as one of your items--and personally, I didn't find that option worth it. There's a wide variety of choices; some dishes were solid while others were pretty underwhelming, so it's definitely hit or miss. That said, for the price, it's still a decent spot if you know what to order and aren't expecting anything special.

The dishes no longer have that proper wok hei flavor, and the food tasted bad on my recent visit. What made the experience even worse was the service. The staff were rude, dismissive, and acted annoyed that customers were even there. One of the girls, the one with the ponytail, was especially rude and needs to learn basic manners. Another staff member was also unfriendly and gave attitude the entire time. I also did not appreciate being pressured about tipping. A tip should be optional and based on good service. If the service is poor, customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable or confronted over it. On top of that, they add extra charges when using a credit card, including a fee if you spend under $30. That already feels frustrating, but the bigger issue is the attitude and poor treatment from staff. Customers are the reason businesses stay open. No one is asking to be treated like royalty, but people come in to enjoy a meal and should at least be treated with basic respect. If I am going to be ignored, rushed, and given attitude, I would rather stay home and eat in front of my TV. I will not be coming back .. food quality and customer service Nate major improve.

The Premium menu includes quite a good variety of meats, such as beef tongue, LA kalbi short rib, rib finger, iron steak, along with seafood options like shrimp, octopus, and squid. We ordered beef tongue, thin sliced beef, pork belly, and marinated chicken. The beef tongue was probably the highlight--it grills nicely and has a good texture. The thin sliced beef and rib finger were decent for an AYCE spot--nothing extraordinary, but satisfying. The pork belly was flavorful and nicely fatty, which made it great on the grill. For side dishes, they offer a good selection including steamed egg, tofu soup, miso soup, ramen, salad, and kimchi. The steamed egg was soft and comforting, and the tofu soup had good flavor, which added to the overall meal. The restaurant environment is simple but comfortable, with spacious seating and clean grills. Service was reasonably attentive and refills of meat came at a decent pace. Considering the current Korean BBQ prices in the LA area, $34.99 for the Premium AYCE feels like a fair mid-range option. You get a lot of variety including seafood and multiple cuts of meat. That said, if you are looking for top-tier meat quality, this place may feel more average. Overall: a good spot for casual gatherings with friends when you want to enjoy plenty of grilled meat without spending too much. Recommended items: * Beef tongue * LA kalbi short rib * Pork belly Solid value for an AYCE Korean BBQ meal.
