Some of the best pork chops on call right now - if my Grandma Tencha were behind this, she would've absolutely loved it. When you're in the area, swing by Fullerton Rd right off the 60 freeway and pull up. Do you want this to sound more casual (like homies talking) or a little more polished for a broader audience? The city Rowland Heights.

Have been going to the Garden Cafe in Alhambra for almost thirty years; first time coming to this Garden Bistro inside the Diamond Plaza in Rowland Heights. The restaurant was really busy already at around 11am on a Sunday. We got the last small two person table while other bigger parties were on waiting list. The ambiance was vibrant and cheerful. Servers were really helpful and pleasant. Menu was really huge, with a lot of specials. They serve pizza, which is different from the Alhambra location. Their pizzas feature Italian Classics and Asian Flavors (Chinese Beijing Duck, Japanese, Thai, etc.) which is pretty interesting. Will have to try it next time. They also had a Roasted Sea Salt Angus Prime Rib which might have been a weekend special. Other than those, the menus are pretty similar for the two locations. The two of us just got off a cruise and were not particularly hungry. We just wanted some Hong Kong style comfort food. We shared a Singapore Style Vermicelli and a Curry Ox Tongue with Pasta. Portions were really generous and we went home with lots of leftovers good for another meal. The Curry Ox Tongue came with five huge slices of tender ox tongue, and the curry was really tasty. Both dishes were very well prepared and delicious. Prices were reasonable. This is definitely a solid Hong Kong style cafe.

This place has a wide selection of menu items during lunch and dinner time. I came here at 3:30pm and happened to be during their afternoon tea hours. Afternoon Tea special menu is served daily from 3-5:30pm. The Afternoon Tea menu has limited offerings. Portions are smaller but it comes with hot tea, coffee or milk tea. For approximately $9.95, it is a real bargain. We ordered seafood chow mein and lemongrass pork chop (comes with fried egg and rice). They were both delicious. Service was average (adequate). I would be back soon to try other dishes

It's been over 10 years since I last visited Garden Bistro. Same friendly workers, same asian fusion cafe vibes. Ordered my usual favorite of Grilled Chicken Steak with rice and that is still a 10/10. I grew up eating at Garden Cafe when they opened their first location in Alhambra, then they opened Regence Cafe across the street; before expanding to other cities, such as Rowland and Arcadia. Brings back so many wonderful memories!!!!!

Not sure why they had so many reviews. The food was very mediocre for my foodie tastebuds. The complimentary cream corn soup had no flavor. The clams with cilantro was oook, the kids wanted pepperoni pizza that looked like a kid made it and the duck one was not I was expecting. The best dish was the baked bolognese and my Hong Kong ice tea. I have had way better bistro food in the San Gabriel and Monterey park areas.

Beef Egg Rice: 4/5 A Cantonese classic. It has that very savory and rich taste I was looking for and a kiss of wok fire. Thinking about it now, this has a very similar taste and texture to "lobster sauce" found in a lot of Chinese American restaurants. This dish was expertly prepared. It was just a little bland, a pinch of salt would have helped. I was really happy that they use good, fragrant jasmine rice. Pork Lard Wonton Noodles: 2.5/5 I got this because I'm greedy, but also because this was one of their specials. Maybe because we came right before closing, but it was really bad. The soup was fishy, watery, and lukewarm. The wontons also tasted old and off for a lack of better terms. Everything was greasy in an unpleasant way. The greens and noodles were cooked well though. Borscht: 3/5 A plain vegetable soup. Tasted tomatoey. No more notes. Lemon Iced Tea: 2.5/5 Bland, not sweet, not lemony. It had that flavor I would expect from a Hong Kong cafe, but it was just really muted. Again, since they were closing, maybe they diluted my drink so they wouldn't have to make a new batch, but it was really meh. Ambiance: Casual. We caught this restaurant in a very Italian time in its life. Service: Chinese restaurant service. Some things were fast, some things were slow, but it was efficient. Don't expect them to be really nice haha. Parking: This is in a plaza mall. When I came at night, there was plenty of parking but I can see it being super hectic during peak times.

Always happy to stop by for brunch though I was pleasantly surprised to find a new brunch menu as of Dec 2025. There were some new items (such as a beef and fish congee) and a new years exclusive brunch set menu. Of course, coming here, don't expect great service, but they'll usually have a game or two up for you to watch during breakfast. The food is a bit greasy and the tea a bit weak (they serve it pre-mixed now!), but portions are large and super shareable. We'll be back to try more of the new menu items!

Ok now. This spot wins. I grew up in Hong Kong. This is as authentic as it can gets. Fast. Delicious. Actual Hong Kong menu items We ordered a grilled pork neck meat, stir fry veggie and New Zealand lamb chop. The every bit of this restaurant bring back memory of the 9 years i spent in Hong Kong.

This restaurant focuses on Chinese-Western fusion. It has a cool concept and a pretty diverse menu. It can get very busy, so I'd recommend showing up early if you don't want a long wait. Parking is also a bit of a nightmare, there are very limited spots. Service was alright as with most Asian restaurants. We tried the Beijing Duck Pizza, which sounded promising, but it ended up being pretty mid. The duck kind of got lost in all the toppings and cheese, and the unique flavor you'd expect from Beijing duck just didn't shine through. That said, there are plenty of other options on the menu that might be worth exploring!

The food was very interesting--something I've never had before, though my boyfriend was familiar with it and loved it. The portions are very large and the food comes out quickly. You can definitely tell it's not the healthiest option: the mashed potatoes seemed from powder, the veggies were canned, and the pasta's tomato sauce was sweet--but overall, it was still good. The service was solid. We also ordered some noodles that came out too dry, so we sent them back. The restaurant itself is spacious and busy, with plenty of food to go around.

They used to be so good here and so known for great chinese CAFE food. Now I feel like their quality is lacking. Pasta and pizza not good anymore. My arugula prosciutto pizza I ordered by phone for pick up was missing arugula. It was so salty I wasn't happy. I still still a lot of other dishes but I'll stay away from pizza for now lol

Their HK style food is authentic and delicious. We started with the hot and sour soup and it is literally the best version we have ever had. It had a bit of the Szechuan numbing spice and was a huge portion so we took half home. We also ordered their steamed rice rolls with shrimp and chive and you can tell it was made fresh by the wrinkles in the rice paper. The last item we ordered was their chinese sausage clay pot. It was exactly what we were craving. Crispy rice all along the edges with perfectly steamed rice, chinese broccoli and crispy chinese sausage. It was hard to choose because their menu was huge and we came late so we missed the pineapple buns but definitely need to try it next time. I also saw everyone ordering the lemon iced tea and realized it's because they do free refills! That's another need to try. I felt the value was really great and we definitely are coming back. Service was also great. The waiters quickly came over when you waved them down and they checked on you just the right amount of time. The decor inside is very cute and I love the retro style. Only complaint I would have is that we sat on the left side of the restaurant and there were quite a few mosquitos on the booth so we ended up sitting on one side.

It took about ten minutes for us to get a booth table, but we were waiting inside. The staff member called numbers firstly in Cantonese then in English. After we sat down, the waiting line persisted past 1 pm. Similarly, the bustling loudness continued on during the course of our meal. Food arrived quickly, however. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. I enjoyed how the French-style filet mignon was garnished with Thai basil, black pepper, and ginger. The meat was flavorful and tender. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting. The atmosphere during the Sunday lunch peak time was consistently bustling. I think the restaurant started to play Chinese music loudly at random points so that people could finish dining more quickly.

Everything came out fresh and hit the spot. The har gow were plump and juicy, the rice noodle rolls were soft and silky, and the BBQ pork buns had that perfect slightly sweet, fluffy texture. The egg tarts were a great finish--warm and flaky. The food here is mediocre at best and the service is just awful. They make you feel like a burden and inconvenience right from the bat and refuse to acknowledge you. We were ordering with a waitress then she suddenly got frustrated when we tried to order the honey walnut shrimp and threw her hands in the air and called someone else over. The tall Asian guy who took our orders also made us seem like an inconvenience and even walked away in the middle of us ordering. He kept this same attitude throughout the whole time. My parents were excited for the 99 cent chicken deal they had and wanted to order more and the same guy refused to acknowledge their questions and ultimately told us it was 1 order per table. This is fine if that's their policy, but it was the way he was acting. He made us feel that we were cheap and stingy wanting to take advantage or get cheap eats. If you don't want people to order this cheap dish, don't have it on your menu or advertise it! Also, we ordered plenty of other foods. Beware because this place seems like they're scammy. I ordered a pot of rice and apparently they charge rice per person so regardless of how many people you have, you still get the same pot of rice but more expensive. This makes no sense even when I questioned them about it. When we tried to ask one of the cart ladies about ordering a football from the fried section, she gave us another item instead and when we opened it up, it wasn't what we wanted. They kept trying to push more items on our table to get our money even though we repeatedly said no. They also charge for sauce and didn't tell us. Another waitress (who we didn't even interact with throughout our time) chased me down trying to pressure me to tip more. I have no problem tipping, but when the service is like this, I am not going to leave a 20% tip like usual. I will say the kind busser here was exceptional and although he didnt speak English, he was so kind and honestly made my day. Everyone else here was rude and unwelcoming. The mediocre food here is not worth the outright disrespectful and terrible service.

Overall, I would recommend going to this place! I think most people would really enjoy it!

Stopped by Yummy BBQ and the experience was just okay. Service felt a bit rushed and it's cash…read moreonly, so keep that in mind before coming. The store itself is nothing fancy, very no-frills. Prices are very reasonable, which is the main draw here. One thing to note: rice or noodles are not included with your selections unless you order them separately or choose them as one of your items--and personally, I didn't find that option worth it. There's a wide variety of choices; some dishes were solid while others were pretty underwhelming, so it's definitely hit or miss. That said, for the price, it's still a decent spot if you know what to order and aren't expecting anything special.

The dishes no longer have that proper wok hei flavor, and the food tasted bad on my recent visit. What made the experience even worse was the service. The staff were rude, dismissive, and acted annoyed that customers were even there. One of the girls, the one with the ponytail, was especially rude and needs to learn basic manners. Another staff member was also unfriendly and gave attitude the entire time. I also did not appreciate being pressured about tipping. A tip should be optional and based on good service. If the service is poor, customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable or confronted over it. On top of that, they add extra charges when using a credit card, including a fee if you spend under $30. That already feels frustrating, but the bigger issue is the attitude and poor treatment from staff. Customers are the reason businesses stay open. No one is asking to be treated like royalty, but people come in to enjoy a meal and should at least be treated with basic respect. If I am going to be ignored, rushed, and given attitude, I would rather stay home and eat in front of my TV. I will not be coming back .. food quality and customer service Nate major improve.
