Our group of 14 reserved a private room at KW Cafe for a friend's birthday, and it was my first time visiting. I was really impressed by how extensive the menu is--they offer everything from classic Hong Kong-style breakfast and comfort dishes to full banquet-style dinners. For our celebration, we had quite a spread, including sashimi, roast pig, king crab, beef filet mignon, steamed grouper, lamb rack, squab, chicken, and dessert. I'm not sure about the corkage policy, but our host was able to bring in bottles of wine for the occasion. Service was excellent, we even stayed past their 9 p.m. closing time, and they never rushed us. The food did lean a bit oily, which is pretty typical for Hong Kong-style banquet dishes. Parking is easy with a large shared lot, and I'd definitely come back to explore more of their menu next time I'm in the area.

Great Afternoon tea menu that's good for dinner if you go there closer right before dinner. Authentic Hong Kong cafe taste. Service is fine, the usual. Great big space with many comfortable booth seats. I got the satay beef macaroni with soup. It was delicious.

Very good spot to order family style and share. Most recent was for a bday lunch in their private room. Food was delicious, service was great for a HK style eatery. This place gets filled up during prime weekend breakfast/lunch/dinner hours so be prepared for a wait.

The restaurant was busy on a Friday evening but we got a table within 10 minutes. The servers were also slammed with dinner crowd. But overall we still had hot food served !

Authentic and delicious Hong Kong food at KW Cafe in Rowland Heights. I'm so glad that they always have delicious food there. We always have their indoor seating but it was our first time sitting at the patio and it was also nice. The patio was enclosed with some lighting. The table was huge for both of us. We tried their Sweet & Sour Pork, and Fish Fillet with mixed vegetables. Both dishes tasted great and the portions were good. The flavor of the Sweet & Sour Pork was on point. It was delicious. The Fish Fillet and vegetables were also flavorful but not on the heavy side. It was just perfect. The service was attentive.

Honestly the food and service is quite good here. Just note that there may be a wait to be able to be seated esp on the weekends. This place brings back a lot of memories as it used to be Hong Kong Palace. It is now a Cantonese Cafe with a huge menu. I didn't take all the pictures of all the food due to being hungry but I did my best. They have egg waffle pancake (order ahead of time it takes a while). Really good dishes are Beef brisket Lo mein, baked bolognese, jellyfish, soy sauce chicken (buy half get half), and the lamb chops with black pepper sauce was really good as well. (Keep in mind 4 pieces are like $36). I have been here a few times already, finally able to write a review. I know the wait can be long but it is busy for a reason right ? They have huge tables so family with all sizes can be seated, and there are plenty of parking as it is shared w the rest of the plaza. The inside looks modern. Look forward to come back again soon. Until next time.

Fur on German styled pork knuckle

Terrible, we waiting super duper long for takeout, approximately 1 hour when they said it'll only take 30 min. Moreover, they kept lying saying my food was almost ready while other waiters I asked said my food wasn't even cooked yet. After I finally got my takeout and went home, I find some pig fur still on the German style pork knuckle. This is super unsanitary. Very dissatisfied.

Pork chop/chicken chop combo (with black pepper sauce and pasta)

Came here during lunch time on a weekday. Resturant known to service Hong Kong style dishes/cuisine. I ordered fried pork chop/chicken chop combo (comes with either a side of pasta, rice or fries) which is typically served in a Hong Kong style cafe. Both the chicken chop and pork chop were very tender, and went very well with the black pepper sauce. With the chop combos, you also have the options of choosing different sauces such black pepper sauce, garlic sauce, mushroom sauce, etc. We had also ordered a bowl of wonton and braised beef noodle soup. The noodle soup was a bit light on the flavoring, but the wontons and braised beef pieces were just delicious! The noodle soup also includes a good portion of thin egg noodles. Perfect for a cold weather day. Service wise, the restaurant can be pretty busy, but you can always flag down a server for help. Overall good portions and great value for your wallet. I will have to come back to try some of its other dishes, and as well as its BOGO deals for Peking duck. Also plenty of parking in a big shopping plaza. Come and support your local businesses!

    Egg and pork chop breakfast
    Will M.

Came back again yesterday for breakfast. I ordered the macaroni, chicken steak, and egg combo. The chicken steak was actually cooked really well with a nice crispy skin, but it came with no sauce. During lunch you can get mushroom or black pepper sauce, so eating it plain felt like it was missing something. I also got the shrimp wonton soup. The broth was pretty basic, but the wontons were huge and plump which I liked. The star of the meal was actually the pork and bitter melon rice roll. I didn't even take a photo because I ate it too fast. The rice roll was thin, silky, and slightly chewy. I honestly didn't know their rice rolls were this good and I'd definitely order it again. The hot milk tea was strong and tasty just how I like it. I'll definitely be back, but seriously the chicken needs a sauce option for breakfast too.

Average cha chaan teng / hong kong cafe in the area. Wouldn't say its bad but there are a lot better ones in the area. I'd prefer hk macau bistro just a few steps away. The cheung fun here is kind of stiff so I wouldn't get it here again. The baked pork chop rice was good! But it's usually good at most places. Overall the place didn't really stand out to me, but I wouldn't mind coming back if someone else wanted to go here

Bought 1 whole steamed chicken and got another free. BOGO.

This is one of my favorite spots for steamed chicken. It's conveniently located on the east end of the plaza at Nogales & Colima. Parking is plentiful, though it can fill up during busy times. This was my first time ordering takeout, and I was genuinely impressed that the portions matched their dine-in plates. That kind of consistency is rare these days, and I really respect a restaurant that stays true to their customers. I ordered my usual whole steamed chicken (BOGO deal always a win), plus BBQ pork and salted fish & chicken fried rice. Their steamed chicken is consistently meaty, clean-tasting, and simply delicious. It's why I keep coming back. The BBQ pork was good, though it doesn't quite make my personal "top BBQ pork" list. The fried rice, however, was excellent with generous bits of salted fish and full of flavor. Reliable, satisfying, and still one of my go-to comfort spots.

    Lily N.

I really like the pork chops and green beans here. Both are super savory! The fish fillet with vegetables was decent but there was not a lot of fish, it was mostly the big bok choy. I was not a fan of the pineapple bun here and the most disappointing dish was the beef chow fun - no flavor at all. Would not recommend. Service was whatever. Overall food was delicious if you pick the right dish.

    Carissa A.

When we got here, there was a long line. We waited about 20 min for a table for 3. The complex has a large parking lot and it was busy but we managed to find parking. Inside the restaurant, it was spacious and clean. Their menu is quite extensive. We ordered chicken steak with mushroom sauce, salt and pepper squid and eggplant with garlic sauce. The food was ok. There are so many great restaurants in the area that it's really hard to compete. This place was about average for me.

It took about ten minutes for us to get a booth table, but we were waiting inside. The staff member called numbers firstly in Cantonese then in English. After we sat down, the waiting line persisted past 1 pm. Similarly, the bustling loudness continued on during the course of our meal. Food arrived quickly, however. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. I enjoyed how the French-style filet mignon was garnished with Thai basil, black pepper, and ginger. The meat was flavorful and tender. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting. The atmosphere during the Sunday lunch peak time was consistently bustling. I think the restaurant started to play Chinese music loudly at random points so that people could finish dining more quickly.

The food here is mediocre at best and the service is just awful. They make you feel like a burden and inconvenience right from the bat and refuse to acknowledge you. We were ordering with a waitress then she suddenly got frustrated when we tried to order the honey walnut shrimp and threw her hands in the air and called someone else over. The tall Asian guy who took our orders also made us seem like an inconvenience and even walked away in the middle of us ordering. He kept this same attitude throughout the whole time. My parents were excited for the 99 cent chicken deal they had and wanted to order more and the same guy refused to acknowledge their questions and ultimately told us it was 1 order per table. This is fine if that's their policy, but it was the way he was acting. He made us feel that we were cheap and stingy wanting to take advantage or get cheap eats. If you don't want people to order this cheap dish, don't have it on your menu or advertise it! Also, we ordered plenty of other foods. Beware because this place seems like they're scammy. I ordered a pot of rice and apparently they charge rice per person so regardless of how many people you have, you still get the same pot of rice but more expensive. This makes no sense even when I questioned them about it. When we tried to ask one of the cart ladies about ordering a football from the fried section, she gave us another item instead and when we opened it up, it wasn't what we wanted. They kept trying to push more items on our table to get our money even though we repeatedly said no. They also charge for sauce and didn't tell us. Another waitress (who we didn't even interact with throughout our time) chased me down trying to pressure me to tip more. I have no problem tipping, but when the service is like this, I am not going to leave a 20% tip like usual. I will say the kind busser here was exceptional and although he didnt speak English, he was so kind and honestly made my day. Everyone else here was rude and unwelcoming. The mediocre food here is not worth the outright disrespectful and terrible service.

If the service is poor, customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable or confronted over it. On top of that, they add extra charges when using a credit card, including a fee if you spend under $30. That already feels frustrating, but the bigger issue is the attitude and poor treatment from staff. Customers are the reason businesses stay open. No one is asking to be treated like royalty, but people come in to enjoy a meal and should at least be treated with basic respect. If I am going to be ignored, rushed, and given attitude, I would rather stay home and eat in front of my TV. I will not be coming back .. food quality and customer service Nate major improve.

The store itself is nothing fancy, very no-frills. Prices are very reasonable, which is the main draw here. One thing to note: rice or noodles are not included with your selections unless you order them separately or choose them as one of your items--and personally, I didn't find that option worth it. There's a wide variety of choices; some dishes were solid while others were pretty underwhelming, so it's definitely hit or miss. That said, for the price, it's still a decent spot if you know what to order and aren't expecting anything special.

We shared the pork and egg congee with chow mein, lemon iced tea, and added an order of Chinese donut. The food was delicious. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the congee. It was very thick, which is how I like it. It also had plenty of pork and preserved eggs. The congee was well seasoned. The chow mein was tasty as well. The Chinese donut was served nice and hot. I ate some with my congee and saved the rest for dessert with condensed milk. I hope the quality of food never changes. This place remains a great, affordable Hong Kong style breakfast spot.

They only give the customers one side order with each breakfast, but that is good enough. There were seven of us this morning, so we ordered a lot of different foods from the menu. I had a bit of everything. They were all good. This place used to have a big crowd during breakfast about four years ago. Then all these Hong Kong style cafes opened up. This place business went down due to all the new competitions. That is a simple fact of life. Their foods are ok, and their prices are the lower on our area, so this is a go. Ray out.
