Authentic and delicious Hong Kong food at KW Cafe in Rowland Heights. I'm so glad that they always have delicious food there. We always have their indoor seating but it was our first time sitting at the patio and it was also nice. The patio was enclosed with some lighting. The table was huge for both of us. We tried their Sweet & Sour Pork, and Fish Fillet with mixed vegetables. Both dishes tasted great and the portions were good. The flavor of the Sweet & Sour Pork was on point. It was delicious. The Fish Fillet and vegetables were also flavorful but not on the heavy side. It was just perfect. The service was attentive.
Honestly the food and service is quite good here. Just note that there may be a wait to be able to be seated esp on the weekends. This place brings back a lot of memories as it used to be Hong Kong Palace. It is now a Cantonese Cafe with a huge menu. I didn't take all the pictures of all the food due to being hungry but I did my best. They have egg waffle pancake (order ahead of time it takes a while). Really good dishes are Beef brisket Lo mein, baked bolognese, jellyfish, soy sauce chicken (buy half get half), and the lamb chops with black pepper sauce was really good as well. (Keep in mind 4 pieces are like $36). I have been here a few times already, finally able to write a review. I know the wait can be long but it is busy for a reason right ? They have huge tables so family with all sizes can be seated, and there are plenty of parking as it is shared w the rest of the plaza. The inside looks modern. Look forward to come back again soon. Came here during lunch time on a weekday. Resturant known to service Hong Kong style dishes/cuisine. I ordered fried pork chop/chicken chop combo (comes with either a side of pasta, rice or fries) which is typically served in a Hong Kong style cafe. Both the chicken chop and pork chop were very tender, and went very well with the black pepper sauce. With the chop combos, you also have the options of choosing different sauces such black pepper sauce, garlic sauce, mushroom sauce, etc. We had also ordered a bowl of wonton and braised beef noodle soup. The noodle soup was a bit light on the flavoring, but the wontons and braised beef pieces were just delicious! The noodle soup also includes a good portion of thin egg noodles. Perfect for a cold weather day. Service wise, the restaurant can be pretty busy, but you can always flag down a server for help. Overall good portions and great value for your wallet. I will have to come back to try some of its other dishes, and as well as its BOGO deals for Peking duck. Also plenty of parking in a big shopping plaza. Come and support your local businesses!
Came back again yesterday for breakfast. I ordered the macaroni, chicken steak, and egg combo. The chicken steak was actually cooked really well with a nice crispy skin, but it came with no sauce. During lunch you can get mushroom or black pepper sauce, so eating it plain felt like it was missing something. I also got the shrimp wonton soup. The broth was pretty basic, but the wontons were huge and plump which I liked. The star of the meal was actually the pork and bitter melon rice roll. I didn't even take a photo because I ate it too fast. The rice roll was thin, silky, and slightly chewy. I honestly didn't know their rice rolls were this good and I'd definitely order it again. The hot milk tea was strong and tasty just how I like it. I'll definitely be back, but seriously the chicken needs a sauce option for breakfast too.
Average cha chaan teng / hong kong cafe in the area. Wouldn't say its bad but there are a lot better ones in the area. I'd prefer hk macau bistro just a few steps away. The cheung fun here is kind of stiff so I wouldn't get it here again. The baked pork chop rice was good! But it's usually good at most places. Overall the place didn't really stand out to me, but I wouldn't mind coming back if someone else wanted to go here
This is one of my favorite spots for steamed chicken. It's conveniently located on the east end of the plaza at Nogales & Colima. Parking is plentiful, though it can fill up during busy times. This was my first time ordering takeout, and I was genuinely impressed that the portions matched their dine-in plates. That kind of consistency is rare these days, and I really respect a restaurant that stays true to their customers. I ordered my usual whole steamed chicken (BOGO deal always a win), plus BBQ pork and salted fish & chicken fried rice. Their steamed chicken is consistently meaty, clean-tasting, and simply delicious. It's why I keep coming back. The BBQ pork was good, though it doesn't quite make my personal "top BBQ pork" list. The fried rice, however, was excellent with generous bits of salted fish and full of flavor. Reliable, satisfying, and still one of my go-to comfort spots.
When we got here, there was a long line. We waited about 20 min for a table for 3. The complex has a large parking lot and it was busy but we managed to find parking. Inside the restaurant, it was spacious and clean. Their menu is quite extensive. We ordered chicken steak with mushroom sauce, salt and pepper squid and eggplant with garlic sauce. The food was ok. There are so many great restaurants in the area that it's really hard to compete. This place was about average for me.
Occasionally, KW cafe can be hit or miss, as evidenced by my previous review. Overall, however, KW cafe remains the undisputed champion of HK style cafes in the area, from West Covina to Chino Hills. For a weekend lunch, I arrived with mother at 11:30. This time, after the breakfast crowd but before the lunch rush, allowed me to get a table without waiting. This lunch consisted of the baked sole filet & spinach in cream sauce with rice / 焗菠菜龍利魚飯 ($15.99) and sautéed bitter melon & beef / 涼瓜炒牛肉 ($17.99). Both seemed generously portioned. The baked dish arrived piping hot. The cream sauce did not seem to oily. It proved savory and satisfying. Mother insisted that the rice was supposed to be fried rice, but I could not remember ever seeing that in the 2 decades of eating at HK style cafes (starting with Garden Cafe on Colima by the HK plaza). The sauteed bitter melon with beef also impressed. The black beans added funky-savory-salty notes without oversalting the dish. The bitter melon proved strangely addicting. The bitterness, while noticeable, did not seem unpleasant.
This is our favorite spot for Hi-tea, lunch and dinner. Their food is all above my expectation. So far haven't gotten and plate that I didn't like. I've been coming here since they opened. This place is always packed and long waiting. So , I usually come in odd hours so I can taste their famous Wonton Noodles soup, their steamed chicken and bbq deli. Anything you name it is all good, drinks are so tasty too. I brought my Dad here the first time and he immediately fell in love with the iced lemon tea and the dumplings noodles soup. I also tasted their Chow Mein, rice pot, etc etc, too many to mention, gotta come here to try it out ~!

We came here on an off hour (4pm) and it was already pretty busy. The menu was huge with all sorts of HK food assortments. Also, we happened to be here during their happy hour type of menu where you can get meals for $15-16. I ordered the angus steak and it was cooked well. It came with a hefty portion of pasta as well. Portion sizes were great.
We tried KW Cafe while meeting up with from friends. We got there before they even opened, they open at 9am. So, we got seated right away. I had the Peanut Butter French Toast and it was not bad. Good flavor and freshly made. Comes with four pieces of French toast! Other people in our party had jook, wonton noodles, omelets and of course Hong Kong style milk tea and coffees. I like how the entrees here come with the option to get a drink, whether that is a Hong Kong milk tea, lemon tea or even coffee or both coffee/milk tea together. The best part is that the drinks are refillable, free of charge! You don't see that often in the Bay Area! Also, I liked how they give you the condensed milk on the side so you can pour as much as you feel is necessary for your liking. Was the milk tea the best I've had? No. But it's free and refillable while you dine! The customer service was decent, the workers were nice and attentive when you flagged them down for assistance. Overall, not a bad place for some Hong Kong style food.
Our group of 14 reserved a private room at KW Cafe for a friend's birthday, and it was my first time visiting. I was really impressed by how extensive the menu is--they offer everything from classic Hong Kong-style breakfast and comfort dishes to full banquet-style dinners. For our celebration, we had quite a spread, including sashimi, roast pig, king crab, beef filet mignon, steamed grouper, lamb rack, squab, chicken, and dessert. I'm not sure about the corkage policy, but our host was able to bring in bottles of wine for the occasion. Service was excellent, we even stayed past their 9 p.m. closing time, and they never rushed us. The food did lean a bit oily, which is pretty typical for Hong Kong-style banquet dishes. Parking is easy with a large shared lot, and I'd definitely come back to explore more of their menu next time I'm in the area. read more

Very good spot to order family style and share. Most recent was for a bday lunch in their private room. Food was delicious, service was great for a HK style eatery. This place gets filled up during prime weekend breakfast/lunch/dinner hours so be prepared for a wait. read more

Stopped by on a weekend afternoon for a get together with friends and had a great meal. Parking is shared with other popular establishments and may be difficult during peak hours. Service was quick and efficient despite the restaurant being packed. The restaurants nicely decorated with the option for a private room and feels appropriate to bring the parents or celebrate a special occasion. The standouts are the wonton noodle soup, tofu with double mushroom, and rice rolls! One of the best I've had for each category in the broader SGV and abroad. The baked pork chop rice dish was a miss, the pork chop itself was tender but the sauce and array of chunky vegetables ranks very low on my list. The pineapple buns were hardly anything more than just a plain bun, the cookie crust was almost non-existent - I would skip that as well. We came again. This time we ordered: 1. Combo steaks 2. Cantonese Wonton Noodles Soup 3. French Toast 4. Stir fry Chinese Broccoli. For the dishes, as always, are high quality and authentic. Specially the Wonton soup. To me, their dishes covers both cafe style and dim sum dishes. Not sure how, BUT they managed to master all areas. For the service, it's awesome too. They knew to give my little one water in a to-go cup with lid, without me asking for it. The HK milk tea with half sugar is perfect to my taste. read more

KW Hong Kong Café still hits the spot and my go to when you're craving classic Cantonese comfort food. The menu covers all the usual favorites--baked rice dishes, wonton noodle soup, chicken entrees, and HK-fusion sandwiches. Everything we ordered was flavorful and satisfying -- including my favorite rice rolls. Service is solid--they have plenty of staff on hand to keep up with the steady crowd, and food comes out relatively quickly, even during peak times. We appreciated the extended patio seating too, which helps handle the overflow when it gets busy (and it does get busy!) -- so come before 11:30 or after 2PM to avoid waiting. Overall, it's a great go-to for casual earrings with family. We ordered several a plates to share - curry veggies (4/5) mapo tofu (5/5), biter melon & pork steamed rolls (4/5) and my favorite egg & spam sandwiches. read more
Despite its name, KW Cafe is more than "just" a HK-style cafe, offering a mix of cafe style food and cantonese seafood restaurant-style dishes in a dining room that is more akin to a chinese seafood restaurant (where you get a private room to host your aunts and uncles). The roast duck was very tasty and moist. The roast crispy pork was also very well done but it left us wishing for more for the price. The lobster with yee mein noodles was also very good. The lobster was firm, not mushy, and the flavor was definitely there. The food at KW Cafe is at a good level, everything tastes very good, it's just fairly expensive for the amount of food that you get. Judging from the line and full house, it seems to be worth it for many. read more
Yesterday we ordered the 3 meat BBQ plate. The pork belly was nice but cold. The pork ribs was so tough. And the duck was all boney pieces. Very disappointing. I should have returned it. The beef chow fun was good. The salted fish fried rice was very dry. We've been there last Aug but the quality had gone down a lot. Server never came by to see if we needed anything. The most disappoint was the $13. Tea pot. No need to charge that much! We drove 30 miles & so did my brother, to be disappointed. read more
KW cafe is another Cantonese cafe located in Rowland Heights. The restaurant is quite big with 3 private rooms for special celebration events. Parking is very easy to find and the restaurant is facing Colima Rd. KW is usually very busy during prime meal hours. So I highly recommend coming here earlier to beat the crowd. Compared to other HK cafes, they do offer a lot more variety of dishes but the prices are more pricey than other places. They do serve more seafood and bbq dishes too. Food does taste authentic. Portions are the same like any other places. The ambiences feels more upscale with the decoration, table settings, and even the table cloth. So this is how they justify charging more on the menu. If you are planning to take a guest to something nice and enjoy Cantanese food, this is the place. But if it's your daily meal just to get your Hk meal fix, this will be over your normal tab. read more

This absolute gem is serving up authentic Chinese food and Hong Kong cafe favorites! The menu has a Cheesecake Factory's number of options, but we settled on the black pepper sauce grilled chicken, baked cream sauce fish filet, shrimp rice rolls, and salt pepper pork. The chicken steak was very delicious with amazing color and crispness. The black pepper sauce is true to Hong Kong cuisine, where you will get hits of Worcestershire sauce. Also came with buttery mashed potatoes, rice, and vegetable medley. The baked cream sauce fish was great well. Fish was melt in your mouth tender and sauce to rice ratio was perfect. Too many times we are forced to eat dry rice when ordering these baked casserole dishes but definitely not here. Sauce was plentiful down to the last grain. I also applaud their creativity in adding spinach to the sauce, which complemented the dish well. The shrimp rice rolls are heads and shoulders above anything I have ever eaten. The roll actually held the shrimp in without falling apart. You will no longer be forced to eat this dish in mushy shreds. And finally we have the salt and pepper pork chops. These had the perfect crunch and seasoned very well, true to its name. Appreciated that it didn't taste like recycled oil. A lot of workers and guests speak Cantonese, so a good spot to hit up if you are not as great with Mandarin. Staff is friendly, takes away finished plates in a reasonable timeframe, and serves your food fast! The restaurant is super spacious and can accommodate large parties. And speaking of large parties, there were about 20 people waiting as we were leaving so be mindful of that. 5/5 can't wait to be back for their satay beef instant noodle breakfast. read more

Traditional cantonese food that is way better than similar places in the 626. The chicken coconut soup had great flavor and very warming. The chicken has a buy half get half special now and was more tender and juicy than places in 626. Filet mignon with mushroom was also very tender. They like to show you the lobster/seafood they'll cook for you and it was indeed cooked fresh and fat. Don't want to sound excessive but it really was much better than the current quality in the 626. Service was quick and kind. Ambiance was clean and lively. Very enjoyable dinner. Part of a larger plaza with ton of free parking. read more
We were planning to try a new dim sum spot in the same plaza, but when we got there, there were a bunch of people waiting outside. Since we're not big on waiting in lines and didn't really know the area, we just walked over to the next place we saw, KW Cafe. It's a pretty decent-sized restaurant, and we got seated right away. We had no idea what kind of food they had, so it was a nice surprise to find out it's Hong Kong-style cafe food! We ordered Pork and Preserved Egg Congee, Fried Dough Stick with Rice Roll, Macau-Style Pork Chop Bun with Fries, Wonton Noodle Soup, Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf, Iced HK Coffee & Tea, and HK-Style Lemon Tea. Everything came out super fast, and it was all really good, totally gave me Hong Kong vibes. Glad we ended up here by chance. Would love to see more places like this pop up in AZ! read more

A nice, local gem in Rowland Heights, KW Cafe delivers an authentic taste of Hong Kong. Weekends are busy here, a clear indicator that it's popular spot. Despite the crowd, my party was seated within 30 minutes. Menu is extensive with both traditional Cantonese style dishes and Western-influenced offerings. Ordered the century egg congee, egg tofu, and eggplant stone pot. Everything was delicious with generous portions. Thoroughly impressed. From wonton noodles with mai seen, lemon iced tea, to a solid beef chow fun, this place has it for me. Their pineapple buns in the morning or breakfast like the HK cafes, it's tasty. This place is so close to me, and we come here all the time (great for takeout too). We wanted a place for a later night dinner after picking up my grandparents from the airport. Their sweet and sour sauce fish is SO GOOD. I could eat just this for a meal. We also got the green beans, mapo tofu, and a lamb dish. Perfect first meal out after getting home. read more
If you are Chinese and currently lives in Rowland or Diamond Bar, then you've most likely been to KW cafe. The prices are higher than most cafes in the area and if you've read some of their Yelp reviews, their service sucks and the wait for a table takes forever, but their food is actually really darn good! I've been here for breakfast, lunch, high tea, dinner, and celebrations in their private rooms (birthdays and Lunar NY) and I've never had ever a bad experience. My mom actually comes here at least once a day (she is addicted to this place) so she is friends with staff, therefore I've never seen the waiters rude with bad attitudes. Parking could be bad depending on the time of day of your visit. The restaurant itself is pretty big with private rooms and outdoor covered patio seating. They do close earlier than most restaurants so make sure to double check the hours before heading there. 9/10 - highly recommended! read more
