I like their quality consistency at the Alhambra location so I hope this location keeps up to that caliber. The plaza is pretty busy similar to their first store so it's a hit or miss finding parking in RH. It's next to my favorite matcha dessert store. My takeout was shrimp wonton and beef stew lo mein and liver congee. The lo mein was good as expected but the portion is better at Alhambra. Knock off half "*" star here. The congee was a disappointment so incredibly bland in taste. Nothing like their Alhambra store quality and quantity. Knock off one and a half "*" stars here. Luckily, I had a soup cup from the lo mein to mix and balance the taste on my congee. I hope their mgmnt team reads this and improves their business. I'm not the only one who experienced this issue. The staff was friendly and the contactless order system is convenient. The vibe is like an indoor street vendor stall. I'm not sure if they have a public restroom but I assume they must under FBS regulation. Will I return? Probably not, as there are so many competitors nearby. Besides congee, they also have Pan Fried Rolls, a variety of Noodle Soups, Lo Mein, and other Soups. You place your orders at the counter, pay, and they will bring you the foods to the dining area, if you are dining there. There is no table services. When we were eating there, when they brought us our foods, they also brought us the condiments (such as soy sauce, chili oil, etc). We ordered the following items: - Ginger & Scallions w/Beef Congee - Shrimps Wonton Noodles in Soup Surprisingly the congee was a bit bland for me. Beef was ok. We have tried different kinds of congee, I like the fish one the most, hubby enjoys the century egg and lean pork one of course. We also like the flavorful wings and fish ball soup. The portions are quite large and prices are very reasonable. I like to get the very refreshing chrysanthemum tea too. The delivery can take very long time on weekends though. We just tried The Congee in Rowland Heights, as this is the new location. It's located inside the Yes Plaza on Colima and Fullerton. We used to go to the one in Alhambra a long time ago. The place was simple and small, and it's more like for to go. We chose to dine in before going to the movies while my daughters were waiting for their orders at the Boba place next door. We did not try their congee today, but we were craving the wonton noodles. We also ordered the Special Pan Fried Rolls and a chrysanthemum tea. Shrimp wonton noodles in soup ($13.75) - The portion size was big, and the shrimp wonton was huge. The wonton noodles were mediocre. It was a bit on the soft side, and the noodle texture was not what I wanted. (8 out of 10) Special Pan Fried Rolls ($10.75) - the portion was good, but it tasted a bit bland. I would rather order the pan-fried rolls at the DFC instead. The flavor was lacking. I wish that they had sweet soy sauce and the peanut butter sauce. We won't order it again. (7 out of 10) Chrysanthemum Tea ($2.95?) - It tasted very so-so, not sweet at all and bland, and it had a very light flavor of Chrysanthemum. I'm so glad they re-opened in Rowland Heights! I ordered my favourite Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup today and it was perfect! The wontons were big and full of shrimp, the egg noodles were al dente and thin and the broth was very light and flavourful. Ordered two wonton noodle soup to bring home for my parents . Time was around 230/3pm . I live about 20 mins away . When I got home and my family opened the noodles , there was a foul smell from the wontons ( most likely rotten shrimp ) . They were never eaten and left untouched . I called to let the owners and staff know and asked if I can come back for a refund . The staff politely said yes please bring back for them to kindly refund the order . Mind you I lived 20 mins away so I had to find time to go return the orders . I went back around 7pm , the staff did not want to refund my order and tells me why I took so long to return the order ? Not only that , they told me it was my fault for taking too long to return the order back . They said my wontons was perfectly cooked and nothing was wrong !? Instead of apologizing and refunding the order and took 15 mins to argue with me back and forth over two wonton noodle soup orders !? Which made no sense at all . Why would I waste my time to drive back and return something I never touched !? Staff was extremely rude , wontons were foul and expired . Please save yourself and go to someplace else .
