Definitely very hidden! My friend had to come find me to take me to find this spot. Very small hole in the wall/mom & pops spot. Service was decent, nothing notable. Not surprised how long this place lasted for around 15 years with comforting home cooked taste. There's someone cooking stinky tofu outdoors. There's definitely that stink in the air that clings on your clothes so keep that in mind if you have something important to attend afterwards. The stinky tofu wasn't stinky enough itself compared to Chinese versions, but the sauce and pickled vegetables does save it. It's got a bit of a crunch, but not as much as I'm used to. Everything tasted pretty decent otherwise, clean and comfy Taiwanese spot, A lot of 小吃 options.

Revisited with my grandma for a quick lunch break. Everything was good as always & service was quick, bringing out food within minutes of ordering. Will definitely be back :)

    Stinky Tofu - Regular Size

Came here on a Saturday around 4PM and there were 2-3 people ahead of me. I don't know why but this place was hard for me to find. It is located outside, tucked in the corner, in an alley. It looked a bit suspicious at first, but the pungent smell will be obvious as you walk closer to it. Anyways, I ordered the regular sized stinky tofu. I waited approximately 10 minutes for my order. It had a slight kick of sweetness, some umami, and salty flavor. It was unique and interesting since the tofu was able to absorb some of the sauce. As for my mom, who grew up eating this, thought it wasn't fermented enough. Regardless, it was worth the try since there wasn't that many places around here that sells this. There is a minimal amount required if you're paying with a card but other than that, it is CASH ONLY.

Truly the only spot that hits the spot when you're looking for Taiwanese stinky tofu and lu rou fan. It's tucked away in the saddest shopping center that is really falling apart, but it's worth the journey. The service is good, and the ambiance... well, you'll feel like it's an authentic place lol. Really appreciate that this place sticks around - definitely worth the try!

Whenever I am craving stinky tofu this is the best place to eat. Everything is still same and I would also tell them don't overt fry it I want the tender side.

Barely iced tea is a little sweeter, they add sugar to it.

I really wanted to come here a long time and try their famous stinky tofu. The first time I came here looking for it , 2 years ago, I couldn't find it because all the shops looked alike and it doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside, at first I thought it was one of those Chinese herbal shops so I gave up and left. Until today, I came back and looked hard for it. I finally found it...yay! The place is really tiny, they have patio seating but is kind of windy and I have shorts on, is cold outside lol. Walked in, told the lady, only 1 people and she said sit. I sat in the middle and there was only one young couple eating. I knew exactly what I wanted besides the tea, I want it hot Japanese tea but unfortunately they don't have it so I opted for the hot green tea then I saw the barley tea, i said hot but she brought out with ice. The barely tea was kinda sweet, I like it natural without sugar. The stinky tofu looks and tastes like fry tofu, there wasn't really any smell to it like I was hoping. I thought it was going to be like that king of fruits, the Dorian, the ones that loves it would say it smells like peaches and the ones that hates would say it smell like feet that you haven't washed for days lol. The tofu doesn't have any smell to it, kinda disappointed. I asked the boss lady and she said health department doesn't allow it so they made no too smelly. It was kinda dry too. The pickled vegetables that came with it was pretty good, it helps with the dry tofu. I also ordered their most popular items, the mushrooms minced pork with egg over rice. When I took the first bite, it reminded me of my mom's braised pork belly with mustard greens but is not sweet like here. Is really flavorful and my mom uses 10 different types of herbs to make it. Also we eat it in big chunks with white rice is the best, half fat half skinny just like char shi lol overall, the food was good. The ladies are friendly and nice, they answered my question about the tofu. But I'm still going to see if I can find some more stinky tofu that has a little smell to it. Wish me luck. Or if anyone has any suggestions of any places that has stinky tofu that smells in SGV and OC, message me. I'm very curious about what it smells like and tastes like ? Thanks in advance

This authentic braised pork rice and stinky tofu hit me with a wave of nostalgia. As a Taiwanese American constantly navigating two cultures, -home- can feel like a vague concept until I eat this. It's a taste of Taiwan that awakens my soul. This meal is a CrossPacific embrace, proving that the vibrant spirit of Taiwan's food stalls is, and always will be, my ultimate comfort.

The food was okay. Can satisfy some Taiwanese cravings. The dumplings I got were a little bland but good if I was looking for something more clean to eat. The chicken leg rice was good for the price. My friend shared the stinky tofu with me but it was just okay. I didn't like the previously fried tofu texture and didn't care for the sauce. The service was friendly although maybe have gotten my friend's order wrong but not a big deal.

Nice to see there are still restaurants like Tofu King that proudly fly the Taiwanese "small eats" (snacks) flag as there have never been many options for Taiwanese food even in the SGV. It had been awhile since I ate here but had a hankering for Taiwanese food so I came here for lunch. The menu seems to be pretty consistent as before with the stinky tofu as the one dish that everyone seems to order. Of course, if you don't like stinky tofu but want to try the food here, you will need to endure the smell of stinky tofu so ordering the food to go may be your best option? They have some tables outside but you can still smell the tofu. Check out my pics including menu pics. If you haven't tried Taiwanese small eats before, Tofu King allows you to try many of the more popular items all in one place.

It offers a generous portion of tender, juicy meat and springy, fresh noodles. "DELICIOUS!!" I arrived at No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights) on Sunday (around 11AM). Parking is easy. The lot is big with many spots. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, but Staff spoke limited English. Fortunately, pointing at the menu was clear enough. The food took eight minutes and nine seconds. Fast time! As mentioned, the Beef Rib Noodle Soup ($16.50 - Mild) is wonderful! It arrived picturesque and delicious!! However, despite ordering "mild," the food has a very strong heat; I sweat nonstop as I ate. The broth is rich, savory, and spicy. The meat is tender, flavorful, and falls off the bone. And the noodles are hefty, soft, and springy. It's a wonderful, euphoric combination of flavors and textures. Concerning ambiance, No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights) is surprisingly spacious with its tall ceiling and relatively clean surroundings. However, its walls and furniture look worn down with time. Some seats even had torn holes. Unfortunately, the music uses radio with constant commercials playing in the background. Fortunately, there's a gender neutral restroom in the back. Overall, I found culinary magic at No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights). The food is fresh, generously portioned, and well-prepared. I left full with a bright smile. If you enjoy spicy beef noodle soup, this is a must-try! 5 out of 5!! "GO!!"

It's tucked away in a strip mall, and while it wasn't too busy when we arrived, the ambience was cozy and inviting. We ordered a couple of noodle dishes and a few appetizers, and everything was brought out fresh as it was ready. The flavors were outstanding--bold, well-balanced, and unlike your typical Chinese takeout. What really sets this place apart is that they make their noodles fresh in-house--you can actually watch them being pulled through a window in the dining room. They also incorporate spices you don't usually find in Chinese cuisine, like cumin, which gave the dishes a really unique and delicious twist. A couple other things to note are that you order food through your phone which makes things super easy and they also do not serve any alcohol. However they have a wide variety of teas and soft drinks. This spot is definitely one of my new favorites, and I'll be coming back anytime I'm in the area. Highly recommend!
