Order via grubhub via Yelp and ordered the beef noodle soup for takeout. There is only one person manning the restaurant since it's a very small place. Old archaic place but has decent Asian furniture for seating. Service was quick and got the food by the time I arrived there. Broth was good and spicy and portion was just right.

Umami Bistro is easily one of the most authentic Taiwanese restaurants I've been to in a long time. I went late at night, just an hour before closing, and the staff were incredibly welcoming--no rush, no shortcuts, just genuine hospitality and great food. We ordered the chicken rice, popcorn chicken, stinky tofu, luwei combo, and pork cheek rice. Every dish was spot-on. The chicken rice was flavorful and comforting, with tender meat and aromatic rice. The popcorn chicken had that perfect crispy texture and was seasoned just right. The stinky tofu was bold and delicious, served with pickled cabbage and spicy sauce that balanced the funk beautifully. The luwei combo came dry (no soup), just the way I like it--braised items packed with flavor and a satisfying mix of textures. The pork cheek rice was melt-in-your-mouth tender with deep umami flavor that lingered in the best way. Portions are on the smaller side, but the prices are reasonable for the quality and authenticity you get. The casual vibe and friendly service make it a perfect spot for late-night cravings or a comforting meal any time of day. I live about an hour away, and I'm already thinking about when I'll be back next. Overall: 9.5/10

the guba umami (beef noodle soup) was really good! although i will say that even though it says mild, for me it was quite a bit spicy but that's probably just cause I have low spice tolerance. despite that though, it was so good i had to finish the entire bowl. the service was great and the guy at the counter was really nice.

This is such a great place to go to if you're looking for a quick meal and opens fairly late on the weekends. Really good vibes and service is quick and welcoming. We ordered the chicken rice bowl and the Taiwan dama. I ordered the chicken ginger rice bowl twice because it's really good in my opinion. The taiwan dama was also good too. It taste similar to the noodles in Bafang Dumplings. The prices are very reasonable and it is definitely worth checking out!

    Lao Chin Chi Noodle 老慶治炸醬麵

First time trying Umami Bistro by Uber Eats. Pretty authentic Taiwanese food. Lao Chin Chi is basically ZhaJiangmian mixed with minced pork and veggies & egg and stir well with their house made sauces. It was flavorful but not too overwhelming. Butter Shimichi is specially made butter sauce with shimichi for adding extra flavor. I didn't taste the strong buttery flavor but I was addicted by the taste of the noodles. Popcorn chicken bento rice -the boneless dark meat was tender inside and crispy outside. They used five spice powder so it was flavorful. Price was pretty good and the taste was not bad. We will try their other dishes soon.

Visited for a quick lunch and everything was great. The owner was super friendly, quick and attentive. We got stinky tofu & braised pork rice which were both tasty. I like the fact that they pride on not using MSG. We also got tea and watermelon juice which both were perfect without any sugar adjustments which is great compared to most boba places nowadays. I'll definitely be back to support this family business. :)

    Taiwan Dami noodles are good!

Satisfy those noodle cravings and stop by this place. You don't have noodle cravings? You might after you stop here. These flavorful noodles are chewy and rich and you absolutely can't beat the delicious teas and juice drinks. The orange green tea is good enough to make you cry. The owner is super friendly and prices are reasonable- though the drinks run a little high (still worth it). They could use an interior decorator. That "just moved in" look could be replaced with a more attractive dining area. Still, you'll likely love it.

    Pho

Came back to this place again. They are open for dine in! Yay! I tried their pho today. It doesn't taste like the usual pho that I had, maybe because there's no MSG (haha! ) but It was so good that I finished everything! Honestly, the soup here is my favorite! The owner always tries to create new soup! So far, I haven't found any that I don't like. I do have my favorite, but that doesn't mean the rest are bad. I also bought some frozen soup and homemade spicy sauce! The portion may seems small, but a side and a drink, you will feel full but no guilt! The only negative thing could be the service. However, when a chef is proud of his food, it is hard to recommend only 1 dish! However, that's why we have Yelp, right?!

We ordered the mushroom sliced pork rice with egg ($9.99), stinky tofu (9.99), and a beef stew noodle ($13.99). The place is small inside, and it is located at a rundown shopping plaza. Our food came out quickly. We liked the sliced pork rice with egg. It was not the best, but it was a comfort meal and flavorful. The Stinky Tofu was okay, but they were a bit too dry. I liked that they gave us a lot of pickled vegetables. The sauce could be thicker and better. For the beef stew noodle, the beef was tender and flavorful. The broth had a herbal taste, and I liked it, but my hubby did not like the broth. The service was good, and the lady was attentive. If you pay more than $25, then you can pay by credit card. Everything was in good portions, and I think that it was a decent meal. However, my hubby only liked their sliced pork rice.

I understand that prices have gone up everywhere, and I'm willing to pay more for good food. However, the final bill didn't match the prices listed on the menu, which was very confusing and frustrating. What made it worse was that the actual dishes looked completely different from the photos on the menu. If I had known that those four small pieces of meat would cost that much, I definitely would not have ordered them. The most upsetting part was that when we tried to ask both the server and the owner about the pricing issue, we were basically ignored. On top of that, we waited about 20 minutes just for takeout packaging, even though the restaurant was not busy at all. Honestly, this will probably be my last time coming here. I just hope the friends I previously recommended this place to won't end up blaming me for sending them there.

It offers a generous portion of tender, juicy meat and springy, fresh noodles. "DELICIOUS!!" I arrived at No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights) on Sunday (around 11AM). Parking is easy. The lot is big with many spots. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, but Staff spoke limited English. Fortunately, pointing at the menu was clear enough. The food took eight minutes and nine seconds. Fast time! As mentioned, the Beef Rib Noodle Soup ($16.50 - Mild) is wonderful! It arrived picturesque and delicious!! However, despite ordering "mild," the food has a very strong heat; I sweat nonstop as I ate. The broth is rich, savory, and spicy. The meat is tender, flavorful, and falls off the bone. And the noodles are hefty, soft, and springy. It's a wonderful, euphoric combination of flavors and textures. Concerning ambiance, No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights) is surprisingly spacious with its tall ceiling and relatively clean surroundings. However, its walls and furniture look worn down with time. Some seats even had torn holes. Unfortunately, the music uses radio with constant commercials playing in the background. Fortunately, there's a gender neutral restroom in the back. Overall, I found culinary magic at No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights). The food is fresh, generously portioned, and well-prepared. I left full with a bright smile. If you enjoy spicy beef noodle soup, this is a must-try! 5 out of 5!! "GO!!"
