Food is good. Service? What service?

I'd give this place zero stars if I could. I came here for lunch today with one other person, and the entire experience was honestly baffling and uncomfortable. The restaurant was only about 1/3 full when we arrived. We found a table and sat down, only for the woman owner to rush out of the kitchen and demand that we move. She claimed the table we chose was "reserved for a party of 4," even though the table she moved us to was the exact same size. Whatever, we obliged. Then it got weird. A few minutes later, another couple walked in, sat at our original table, and she gave them the same speech and shoved them into a corner. Ten minutes after that, a third couple walked in and sat at that same "reserved" table--and this time, she didn't say a word. She just let them stay. The other displaced couple and I just looked at each other in total confusion. It felt completely arbitrary and honestly disrespectful. The "service" here is non-existent anyway. It operates like a food court: you have to get your own water and walk up to the counter just to order your food. They basically just drop the plate and disappear. Because of the rude treatment and the fact that I did all the work myself, I didn't leave a tip. To my shock, the owner actually had the gall to come out and demand a tip. The level of entitlement is unreal. You can't treat customers like an inconvenience, provide zero service, and then expect to be rewarded for it.

This review is so long overdue. My family and I used to come here consistently and it does not disappoint. This restaurant is small and family owned. Trust me when I tell you that their pork chops and specifically the fried chicken leg is so much more superior than any other Taiwanese restaurant I've ever been to. I don't know how they are able to achieve such flavor, tenderness, and crispiness of the meat. Super good! And it comes with sides that varies every day. This time it came with ma po tofu and veggies. The meal always comes with an egg. I crave their food all the time and I'm sad that I don't live that close to Rowland heights anymore, but whenever I'm in this area, I will always consider this place as one of my meal choices.

Haven't been here in awhile, food is still as tasty and service is better! Will come again soon

Definitely some of the best Taiwanese pork chops you can get in LA. Pork chop had nicely crispy outside and achieved that perfect flavor you find with Taiwanese pork chops. Although their pork chop was really good, their fried chicken leg tasted even better in my opinion. Popcorn chicken was fine. Their rice and noodle soup tasted standard. I liked the service. It's gonna be hard to search for another restaurant in LA that does Taiwanese pork chops better than this place. So search no further and just come here!

Hair under the pork chops. Gross.

Came to get my pick up. While I got to the store, I waited by the cashier for my order. I figured I would get a cup and get water, which is right next to the cashier. As I grabbed the paper cup, the (rude) lady yells from INSIDE the kitchen: There's no water for pick up orders. (Geez, super Nazi!) Their pork chop is good, but will definitely make an effort to never come back. Update: Just started eating our take out and my son just told me there's a hair in his pork chop. Time to ask the health department to check their sanitation.

Noodles with pickled greens and crispy pork chops.

Got the pork chop and noodles. The soup was not that salty and the pork was crispy. The picked greens were tasty and added great flavor. Don't expect much service or a super clean place and your expectations won't be dashed.

Authentic, delicious Taiwanese food at a very affordable price. Service is great despite only two people running the restaurant. Ambiance is casual like a mom and pop Chinese restaurant. Highly recommended!

If this rating is for the food is is 5-star as this place is famous for the Taiwanese pork chops. Even though is mainly ate with rice I love their pork chops with soup noodle. The reason for 4 star is that it seem like a mom and pop shop so don't expect friendly customer service as I went today by myself and they don't even give me one napkin but gave other table who has 3 people. Also, their appetizer includes pig ears which I like but tried to order last 2 times they don't have it maybe discontinued but still on the menu. It's a small restaurant so not a lot of seats. Definitely not the best place to go if u have a big group more than 4.

Unfortunately, service was rough from the start. We sat for about 10 minutes without being greeted or even acknowledged. Honestly, even a quick "I'll be right with you" would've gone a long way. Instead, our server (young woman with tattoos) continued helping the tables to our left and right before finally coming back to us. Drinks also took a while to come out, and although she took our order, she never once checked back on us afterward. The restaurant itself was actually very nice inside and the temperature was perfect, especially considering how packed it was. To be fair, other staff members did step in and help throughout the night. Howard the busser was extremely attentive with drink refills, and another server helped bring requested sides like peanuts for the Pad Thai, the chili platter, and our to-go boxes. Honestly, they helped save the experience. Food: * Chicken Pad Thai -- 4.5/5 Really good flavor and portion. * Tom Yum Shrimp Soup -- 5/5 Flavor was excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal, though the shrimp upcharge was only about 5 pieces so the portion felt a little light for the extra cost. * Papaya Salad (+ shrimp) -- 3/5 Needed to be colder and the sauce lacked a little punch. Our Pad Thai was also accidentally delivered to the table next to us first, though thankfully they caught it immediately and it was brought over quickly. What stood out was that the tables around us were also visibly frustrated and having service issues, so it felt more like the restaurant was overwhelmed overall rather than a one-table issue. The food itself was good enough that I'd come back and give them another try on a normal day instead of one of the busiest holidays of the year.

The menu is extensive, food comes out quickly and fresh, and workers are attentive even though you order through a tablet and it's super busy inside. Food is stellar and of value (6 XLB for $8!), portion sizes are good, and everything is piping hot! The soup dumplings have soo much soup IMO beating out Mama Lu's which is what I would consider to be their nearest competitor. The spicy shrimp wontons are also good, but I think the flavors don't quite hit as well - big pieces of shrimp are enclosed though! The Peppered Beef Udon was great the beef pieces were tender and juicy and great textured noodles. Onion pancakes are a staple along w/cucumber salad (not pictured) , and their pan fried pot stickers are my favorite along with the sauce it comes with. Sooo crispy. Pro tip: If you are a first timer/came from far and waited a while don't let them seat you at the bar the experience is not as nice by far (I saw someone say it's like paying to stare at a wall - I concur) Being seated at a booth or table will allow you the full experience but I do understand there's only a limited amount of room in the bustling place.

I've visited twice now, and both times were disappointing. The biggest letdown was the pork chop with egg fried rice; the rice was completely unseasoned, which really ruined the dish for me. The udon was decent, but nothing memorable. The xiao long bao was also just okay, which was surprising since that's usually a standout at dumpling-focused spots. On a positive note, the staff were great, very friendly and helpful, and most spoke Cantonese, which I appreciated. Ordering is done through a QR code on your phone, which is convenient if you prefer minimal contact, though I personally still like having a server take our order.
