The burrito was a generous one hander but watching another man who's probably on a date with a woman asking to split that thing in half so they could share... was painful. The burrito was bomb with how evenly them potato tots were distributed, fresh and irresistible. But the burger was so coveted with sauce it was impossible not to drench your fingers and palms or shirt with each flavorful bite. My husband and I love the Country Chicken sandwich, but at $14 per sandwich, it's really disappointing that the last three times I placed a pickup order, they forgot the gravy every single time. Each time, I had to go back and ask for it, which honestly shouldn't be necessary. If gravy is supposed to come with the sandwich, especially at that price, customers should be getting exactly what's advertised without having to remind staff. The ambiance is casual and family friendly. . I had the chorizo egg sandwich which was amazing. The chorizo wasn't too spicy or salty but compliment the egg so well. . I was on my way to this shopping center and hadn't eaten yet, so I decided to stop by EggBred for the first time and give it a try for an early bite. It is not a large restaurant, but they make good use of the space inside. There are seven tables and a small bar area in front of the kitchen with five stools. The restaurant is very clean with a yellow color theme and some fun décor and neon signs. I ordered the ribeye steak & egg sandwich ($15.79). After you order, they give you a puck which will buzz when your order is ready. The young cashier was very friendly both upon ordering and returning to the counter to pick up my food. The sandwich looked delicious with its shiny bun and almost all ingredients plainly visible. The egg was cooked a perfect over-medium so it wasn't a big mess. The ribeye tasted good and the amount of meat was ok, although a few bites were a little chewy. I could have used a little less arugula, but overall the sandwich tasted very good. I realize that ribeye is more expensive than other cuts of meat, but at $17 after tax for a sandwich that was a little on the smaller side, I probably would not order this again. It is not bitter and is actually quite smooth. We got The Breakfast Poutine. Lots of potatoes and crispy chunks of chicken. I loved the sausage gravy. A hearty portion for sure. The Country Fried Chicken Sandwich which also comes with sausage gravy. The sandwich is pretty big and the chicken is crispy on the outside and nice and moist on the inside. The Chili Con Carne Burrito is large and in charge. It combines chili and ribeye. The eggs here are so light and fluffy. It takes a typically heavy burrito and actually makes it a lighter than you would think it would be. I was still full but not weighed down. A great place for breakfast inside or to take on the go. There was generally a good flow of customers coming in throughout the morning. Indoor seating only with about 10-12 tables available. Sausage Egg & Cheese Sandwich ($10.49): Breakfast sausage, medium over easy egg, sharp cheddar cheese, roasted pepper chimichurri, and a paprika spread in between a milk bun. Good overall flavors but just wish the cheese had been melted a little bit into the sandwich. Beer Battered Potatoes ($3.99): crispy semi spiral cut potato with house seasoning (plain available upon request). Not sure how plain would taste but these were very tasty with the house seasoning - no condiments needed! For convenience, packaged utensils, napkins, water, and sauces are all self serve located to the left of the ordering counter. It was very easy to find a parking space in the private lot that was part of a shopping center. We walked into Eggbred Brea excited to try ou their food. I was immediately disappointed when I saw the line to order food, but all the tables were already occupied. It's a small dining area, so I am surmising most folks are placing to-go orders. A very nice young man sitting at one of the 4-tops graciously offered his table to my family, explaining he was getting his order to go, and moved to sit at one of the few barstools at the counter. Finally, we were able to place our order. It was kinda noisy in this small restaurant, and at first being somewhat under-caffeinated, thought I heard the order taker repeat my order then state it was going to be ninety something dollars. It was only after adding a tip, did I realize our order was $110.89 for the the following: 1-Ribeye Steak & Egg Sandwich $15.79 2-Loaded Burritos - The Ribeye California $17.99/each 1-Breakfast Burrito - Ribeye Asada $16.99 4 Bottled Cokes (12 oz.) - $5.99/each I was silently hoping the food better be damn good for $93. Our order was soon called, and immediately my entire family was commenting on how small the burritos were when our son brought back to the tabl. I was kinda disappointed when I saw my Ribeye Steak sandwich and its size. I was trying to stay positive, thinking the food will just be awesome and that will somehow justify the pricing and the portion size. First off, the Ribeye steak in my sandwich is not a steak as one would envision. I liken the meat used in all the burritos and sandwich was product is very similar to "Steak Umm". For $16+ I better be getting decent portion of this Steak Umm like product, which, sadly was not the case. All of our selections were meat stingy. I am just going to say what needs to be written... THIS PLACE NEEDS TO NEVER LEAVE! As a Southern woman, I am very critical of biscuits. Tell me how a place known for their eggs managed to make one of the best "made-from-scratch" cheddar biscuits I have ever eaten? She a thick thick biscuit too but she ain't dense! This biscuit is fluffy and full of flavor! And the Benny on the rocks is my go-to! Their hollandaise is AMAZING! The arugula truffle salad, I can go to town on that thing! All of the flavor profiles are absolutely incredible!! I wish the Huntington Beach location would take a few notes from the Placentia location. Have fluidity with the flavor profiles. The Placentia location just knows what their doing. There are only a couple of things I will note: the music is a bit loud every time I go. My ears can't handle loud sounds and music. Also, I hope they lower the price for the solo arugula salad. It's just arugula and truffle dressing. $8.99. I can't pay $9 for arugula alone. Thank goodness it comes on my favorite meal already!
