This location recently opened up in my area and I was really craving a scrambled egg sandwich. They only had one on the menu so I went for it. I think the cheddar cheese and carmelized onions is a choice to mix together. If I were to order it again, I would get no cheese and no bacon. Everything else went so perfectly in the sandwich. The burger was pretty juicy and the truffle flavor is clear and strong. My favorite item was the potatoes!! I could just eat those every time I go. We tried it with the chile queso as a dipping sauce. Super good, but truly the best on their own. The service was great. We ordered an orange juice but it tasted a bit spicy. We told the manager and he tried the juice to see what we were talking about. He agreed something was off and dumped the leftover juice in container. I looked at their website and found this Brea location conducive to our Saturday errands run. My wife and I were really excited to try Eggbred, especially after looking at their website menu and read the multiple glowing Yelp reviews for all the Eggbred locations. It was very easy to find a parking space in the private lot that was part of a shopping center. We walked into Eggbred Brea excited to try ou their food. I was immediately disappointed when I saw the line to order food, but all the tables were already occupied. It's a small dining area, so I am surmising most folks are placing to-go orders. A very nice young man sitting at one of the 4-tops graciously offered his table to my family, explaining he was getting his order to go, and moved to sit at one of the few barstools at the counter. Finally, we were able to place our order. It was kinda noisy in this small restaurant, and at first being somewhat under-caffeinated, thought I heard the order taker repeat my order then state it was going to be ninety something dollars. It was only after adding a tip, did I realize our order was $110.89 for the the following: 1-Ribeye Steak & Egg Sandwich $15.79 2-Loaded Burritos - The Ribeye California $17.99/each 1-Breakfast Burrito - Ribeye Asada $16.99 4 Bottled Cokes (12 oz.) - $5.99/each I was silently hoping the food better be damn good for $93. Our order was soon called, and immediately my entire family was commenting on how small the burritos were when our son brought back to the tabl. I was kinda disappointed when I saw my Ribeye Steak sandwich and its size. I was trying to stay positive, thinking the food will just be awesome and that will somehow justify the pricing and the portion size. First off, the Ribeye steak in my sandwich is not a steak as one would envision. I liken the meat used in all the burritos and sandwich was product is very similar to "Steak Umm". For $16+ I better be getting decent portion of this Steak Umm like product, which, sadly was not the case. All of our selections were meat stingy. Those loaded burritos and breakfast burrito that my wife and our sons ordered were underwhelming in size (roughly a 6.25 inch in length) amount of filling, and overall taste. We all really had high hopes for Eggbred, but sadly it did not deliver for the price, ingredients used and portion sizes. Got to stop by the new EggBred location and it didn't disappoint. So glad there's an egg sandwich location close by now. We ordered the sausage, egg and cheese (subbed soft scrambled eggs), the truffle crunch burger, and breakfast poutine. The sandwiches were filling and very tasty. The brioche buns were so soft and complimented our sandwiches so well. The breakfast poutine was also delicious, I love the style of potatoes they have. It was our first time there and the person at the register was super friendly and helpful. I didn't catch his name hopefully I'll see him next time and write another review with a shoutout. My husband and I love the Country Chicken sandwich, but at $14 per sandwich, it's really disappointing that the last three times I placed a pickup order, they forgot the gravy every single time. Each time, I had to go back and ask for it, which honestly shouldn't be necessary. If gravy is supposed to come with the sandwich, especially at that price, customers should be getting exactly what's advertised without having to remind staff. My issue was with the actual food presentation. I got an undercooked chewy tortilla, the food to tortilla ratio was off, you get full bites of tortilla, watery eggs, and overcooked bacon. I am just going to say what needs to be written... THIS PLACE NEEDS TO NEVER LEAVE! As a Southern woman, I am very critical of biscuits. Tell me how a place known for their eggs managed to make one of the best "made-from-scratch" cheddar biscuits I have ever eaten? She a thick thick biscuit too but she ain't dense! This biscuit is fluffy and full of flavor! And the Benny on the rocks is my go-to! Their hollandaise is AMAZING! The arugula truffle salad, I can go to town on that thing! All of the flavor profiles are absolutely incredible!! I wish the Huntington Beach location would take a few notes from the Placentia location. Have fluidity with the flavor profiles. The Placentia location just knows what their doing. There are only a couple of things I will note: the music is a bit loud every time I go. My ears can't handle loud sounds and music. Also, I hope they lower the price for the solo arugula salad. It's just arugula and truffle dressing. $8.99. I can't pay $9 for arugula alone. Thank goodness it comes on my favorite meal already! The bread was fluffy and moist, the meat was flavorful, arugula was fresh and the egg cooked to perfection it had a runny yolk but was not so runny that it made a mess. The potatoes were crispy and great with some ketchup and cholula. The waffle was slightly crispy with a soft moist inside accompanied by cream cheese drizzle which was sweet but not too sweet, berry compote was a bright, sweet and tangy. Ordered the berry waffle and added a side of 2 scrambled eggs and bacon, plus a glass bottle of coke. Ordered at the counter/register and was given a pager to alert me when my order was ready. My food was ready in a few minutes and the pager went off. Back to the counter to grab my meal. After picking up my food i stopped back by the register for a wrapped package containing a plastic fork, spoon, knife, a napkin, and packet containing salt and pepper. Also grabbed a packet of Cholula for my eggs. I really appreciate the Cholula, definitely takes my eggs to the next level. There were also tapatio packets available. The eggs were slightly under cooked, enough that there was a little liquid egg on the bottom of the paper serving cups. I wish they would have had a few more seconds cooking. Let's face it, scrambled eggs aren't that tough to get right. I understand that they tout their soft scrambled eggs, but a little more time would dry them out without making them tough or overcooked. Bacon was crisp and good. The waffles and berries were perfectly cooked. The berries waffles were definitely the highlight of my meal. Simply delicious, sweet but not overwhelming. Prices are fairly high in my opinion for what you get, especially considering that you order at the counter, pick up your food, and bus your table after you finish. The sandwhich was very messy to eat, they give you a good amount of egg but it does end up falling out. The eggs are softly scrambled so it was very runny and wet. The bottom of my sandwhich was soggy due to that. Overall I like how many options they have and would like to try something different. I saw on their IG they opened early for a soft launch and had to stop by and check it out. Here's the good news- it's an EggBred. Same great food. The inside looks great- has the new restaurant feel. Everyone was friendly and the food was great. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and a side of potatoes- I love their breakfast burrito and think it's probably the best in the area. I've been a fan of EggBred for a bit so I knew what to expect and was happy to see it delivered just like their Fullerton location. This is an exciting addition to the neighborhood and it's absolutely a must visit.
